Excellent food and service. I highly recommend this restaurant for private parties as well.
Just had takeout from Steve's Piccola and it is still terrific. I was marooned in a location without great Italian food and what joy it was to have really great Italian food.
Good Food 👍 Great Service on a Busy Saturday Night! Thankxxx
I've gone here multiple times and they have amazing food and service. Food is spot on.
Have been going there for years. We have never, ever had a bad meal there.
Great classic italian american food. Bring as many people as you can because they serve family style.
The food is always on point. One of the better Italian restaurants on Long Island
Had the spinach pork chop and it was delicious 😋
Great food and service. Pasta, chicken, sausage, wine, excellent desserts.
Such a wonderful place to host a holiday party. The food was served family style and it was terrific.
Delicious food, generous portions, welcoming staff. We enjoyed a birthday celebration with our friend. Thank you!
Wonderful evening! Great food and service. The family style servings allowed everyone to enjoy all the dishes.
I visit Steve’s about twice a month after work. I sit at the bar and have a glass of wine with shrimp oreganato. The people who work there are very professional and very nice.
Such a great establishment. They had live music lastnight, it was awesome and entertaining. Will definetly be back!! Staff was very friendly yet professional.
Excellent staff. Amazing family style Italian food. I live 30 minutes away and its always worth the trip.

Great Italian food and service!
Excellent food and service. Did not rush us out of there
FOOD is amazing! EVERYTHING on the menu is great! The BEST! You have to try this place
This restaurant is one of the best restaurants on Long Island. The staff is always on their game. When you enter, you are greeted like family. The entire time you are there, you never want for anything. The food is consistently excellent. If you haven't gone to this restaurant, make it a point to try it.
The food was absolutely delicious! My wife had the salmon and I had the chicken marsala. The pene a la vodka was fantastic. We will most certainly return in the future.
Great place with friendly staff and more than excellent food!
Food and service always excellent!!! Have been a customer for many years, and have celebrated many special family occasions here. They always maintain high standards of quality food and friendly , accommodating service. Highly recommend!!!!
Absolutely delicious food and friendly service. Food was outstanding!
Great family style Italian restaurant. Food is great and the service is friendly. I have had multiple family parties here to celebrate baptisms to showers and such. Always helpful and accommodating.
We rented the restaurant for a night for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Staff went out of their way to help us set up decorations and also was extremely friendly and great serving us. Also the food was absolutely amazing!!!!
Food was delicious. Chicken was very tender. Service was excellent. Nice outdoor seating area for those who are airing on the side of caution. Highly recommend!
Great food, fair prices, average service. It's not loud like Chris and Tony's. You can actually hear the person next to you speaking. Convenient parking is right behind the restaurant.
The best Italian food around!! I always have a great meal at Steve's. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The food is mouth watering and portions are big. I highly recommend Steve's Piccola Bussola!
As always, food was excellent, service was excellent! We had our daughters baptism party here and everything was on point! Thank you for another well done party!
First things 1st ask for marinara to dip your bread in it's the best I have ever had for apps i would recommend the bake clams, fried mozz and chopped salad add salami and cheese. The pasta's are all perfect from the clam sauce to the ala vodka. The scarperella is incredible. Have the veal or chic parmesan OMG. All of this and the staff treats you like family.
It doesn’t get better than Steve’s Piccola Bussola, it’s rustic family style food is the best of the Long Island style Italian restaurants (Mateos, LaParma, 388) Their food is super consistent and extremely tasty. We been going for almost 25 years and haven’t found a place that equals it besides the former Angelos in Little Italy. My favorites are the Baked Clams, Caesar Salad, Chicken scarpariello (Order white meat only on the bone), Veal Parmigiana, Linguine w Shrimp, but everything is great!!!
Delicious 😋 😋 😋...from appetizer to dessert...Tiramisu...best I ever tasted...stuffed mushrooms, linguine w clam sauce, salmon oreganata, n salad...all delicious...w family n friends after a Funeral...luncheon...great Staff service...
The stuffed artichoke, stuffed eggplant caponata, chicken parm, linguine filetto di pomodoro are so good! Cozy place with a bar. Can't wait to try the rest of the items on the menu.
Had a family meal with 14 of us.. each one of us went home very satisfied. Food was great and service was top notch
I have eaten at this place on many occasions and the food is always great. The wait staff is attentive and polite. I highly recommend.
Grill Seafood Special was outa sight!!!!! Loved it... Seafood salad always awesome... Chicken Franchaise melts in your mouth.. My favorite... Wife who is picky as hell loves it too...
Consistently great Italian food. We go there about 2 times a year. I generally don't go out for Italian (I'd sooner cook it myself), but if we are going out with others who want Italian, this is where we go. Huge portions, and I have yet to try a dish that wasn't great. Good sauce, pasta properly cooked (not soft), bread is fresh and tasty, service is like I good steakhouse. We occasionally have to wait for 5-7 minutes, and on some visits the place was a bit noisey, but if you are looking for consistently great food and service (we have been going there for almost 20 years), this is your place. We have gotten catered food from here for two communions - everything was great. I'm the first one to point out flaws and "less than perfect" but I have yet to find anything wrong here. Even deserts are decent. Prices are reasonable and servings are large.
Service was amazing. I had a party of 16. Food was great and Alberto was our waiter, very attentive and excellent customer service. Food again was amazing, fresh and delicious. The wait staff was constantly coming to the table making sure everything was fine. Not everywhere you go will you find staff who can handle a big party and this location definitely handled everything well.
It's extremely reliable. They treat everyone really well. No matter who you are, you feel welcome and important. The food is delicious. Even on a busy night, they do a good job. Highly recommend for dine in.
This is a wonderful place for any occasion, family style Italian at its best, great seafood, colorful, scrumptious salads, strong but smooth coffee, worth a trip from anywhere. Take a date here, if they don't fall in love with you, dump 'em. Just kidding, they are sure to fall in love with your fantastic sense of taste because this place is so awesome! Go here ASAP, if not sooner. (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
Phenomenal dinner experience! Our waiter Billy was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend coming and seeing Billy and the amazing service here at this restaurant.
delicious! the meatballs were the best we’ve ever had. the alfredo was amazing
We were there for 50th birthday party. The food was great and so was the the service.
We had my husbands birthday party at the restaurant. Rocco was so accommodating and everyone had a great time. They are still talking about it weeks later. The food and service were excellent ~ would definitely recommend and I would have another event there in the future.
Very good food and very good service. Needed to put a little salt and pepper on the penne vodka. The chicken parm was very good. The quality of the chicken is great and the marinara is flavorful. It was just a little too much sauce for my liking (definitely do light sauce). The fried mozz was awesome. The prices were very fair as well. We would come back if we didn’t live so far away. 10/10 would recommend.
I sat at the Bar where a few locals were having a friendly chat for which they included me. I had the grilled octopus appetizer. In addition to being very fresh it was also a generous serving which is rare these days. For dinner I had shrimp scampi over pasta with garlic & oil which was out of this world. The staff are extremely professional and personable which made the experience that much better!
Service was really good. Arrived after 7 left at 850 and they close at 9 but at no point felt rushed (was actually told to take our time and enjoy the food for a bit when I said i think we're done with food and ready for Box). Very comforting homely feel even though it was our first time there. Portions are huge (family style) and could feed four people with an appetizer and two entries. Decor if that's important to you is more casualish and gives off old school neighborhood Italian restaurant vibes.
Great restaurant. Excellent service from start to finish. Great menu. You can order family style to share or get single dishes for one person and the food is really fresh and tasty. Not too salty but a bit heavy on the garlic. Excellent bread, excellent salad, bar, cocktails - you will be very satisfied. They make you feel right at home and as if your patronage os important to them. I'll come back for sure! Thank you!
Great service. Food very fresh. Had a delicious dinner experience.
Food and service were good. Our table received no bread at all and a glass we were served had jagged break on base.
Enjoyed ourselves. Went for beverage and apps after work. Want to try again and dive little deeper into menu
Went for a Christmas party and the food was great but the service was a bit slower than what I would have expected.
Ordered mozzarella squares, salad and cheese ravioli. Food was great, nice greeting, bar attendant was courteous.
Everything was a step above average...large quantity of food per serving...the sword fish was excellent...but expect to pay a couple $$$...return visit on plan
Very nice family place. The waitstaff were great. The location was perfect. The food was ok and there was plenty of it. I would recommend. We had a party there and there were small kids and the waitstaff were very understanding.
Great fancy family style italian food. The portions are generous, they don't skimp on the bread or the parmesan (for my wife). We didn't feel rushed, the food came out within 10 15 minutes and they were accommodating to our 2 year old son, I would go back here for special occasions but not regularly because it is expensive.
Don't go on mother day. They only give 2 hour seatings and with a party of 10, wanting appetizers first, dinner, then dessert. It was very rushed. The waiter was rude. My mother asked for arrabiato sauce with the cherry peppers in it and he says i'll bring you regular sauce and just put hot pepper (crushed)on it. Then my mother in law wanted a fish dish but didn't want clams in it and the waiter told her just leave it, there's mostly scallops and shrimp. The dish was loaded with clams when it was served. The waiter was not accomodating at all and looked flustered. We all ordered single dishes not family style and no kids meal. My 13 year old son ordered linguine with clam sauce (white) and it was so small. It looked like it was a little bigger than a side dish. Compared to the other pasta dishes on the table which were so much more pasta on the plate. I wouldn't have minded but they charged $26. His dish was so small he was able to finished it when all the other pasta dishes were so large. My 8 year old ordered spaghetti and meatballs and her dish was overloaded with pasta. Then at the end, the owner or manager comes over to say he's running behind schedule and he has irate customers. We were not finished with dessert. My mother was still eating her dessert. I feel that they should have 2.5 hour seatings for bigger parties. Especially if people are ordering appetizers, dinner and dessert. Mothers Day is a special occasion that most families are getting together and want to dine out. As for the food, they have always made good food. I think its a good restaurant but not to go for mothers day.
Excellent food, great service, nice atmosphere! The only thing that was a bit annoying was that the lights were flickering for a few minutes multiple times within a couple of hours. Not sure what was going on with that. Otherwise, would have given a 5 🌟 rating.
Nice place, OK waitstaff. The meal was ok, though I thought the food was a little overpriced. Even though it's an Italian restaurant, if you order chicken or beef, don't expect to get a side of spaghetti, like in other Italian restaurants. Other than that, it was fine.
I thought the food was decent, portions are big so make sure you get the “single” portions unless you are sharing with a group. The only critiques I have was the penne with marinara sauce- the pasta was a bit overcooked and the sauce had massive chunks of garlic all throughout making it hard to eat. There were also a lot of fruit flies/gnats flying around which was a bit concerning. Over all, I would come back and try them again. Also, a lot of reviews mentioned long wait times; we were given our food within a reasonable time, no complaints there!
We ordered a few appetizers and entrees for a party of 15 people. Each family dish serves about 5-6 people. One of the shrimp dishes wasn't the best, but everything else we ordered was delicious. My main issue with the restaurant was that it felt stuffy, almost as if the place needed better ventilation. Nevertheless, this restaurant would be a decent choice for a group dinner.
The seafood dinner and salmon dijon were very good. Lots of seafood, mostly muscles and Calamari, some clams and shrimp. The presentation was very nice. The waiter was very attentive. The owner/manager came around to some of the tables to greet the patrons who were apparently regulars. I would expect him to come to all of the tables if he wants us to come back. I was surprised to have a 3.5% credit card surcharge added on the bill. When we were leaving I saw the sign by the entrance of the dining room stating the surcharge. My bad for not seeing the sign. I think the waiter should have mentioned it.
Good food but family style dishes are filled with lower costly items
Food is great but... they do not take reservation for starters. Second is we experience multiple fruit flies hovering over our table and it was very unappealing. It was not just one! There were a fair amount to be noticeable. They need to take care of that!!
Fried calamari was cooked perfectly but otherwise standard breading and marinara. I had a striped bass special atop frozen spinach and covered with a bread crumb mush. Again, the fish was cooked to perfection. Other dishes included an excellent veal scallapini and another uneventful special follwed by average desserts. In no hurry to go back to pay top dollar for an average meal.
Attended a lunch here and the food and service was subpar. Making food for a large group can sometimes be mediocre. Will have to try stopping in for dinner.
Haven’t been here in over 10 years. Back then there used to be insane waits. Maybe it was covid but there was no one. Place was empty at 530 but filled up by 8. I think all the customers there was 70 -90 years old. All the food was huge portions and very authentic and fresh but missin something from being over the top amazing. Good. Not spectacular as it once was. I recall it used to be bustling with families. Can’t put our finger on it. They also messed up the bill by charging me twice for the same meal which they corrected otherwise I would have been charged an extra $30. There was 5 adults and 2 small children. No one drank but the bill was $400. We did have lots of leftovers that lasted a couple of days. I think I’d rather pay less and not have leftovers. Deserts were great. Unlikely I’ll ever go back again.
Stopped in for lunch, and the food was underwhelming. The Alfredo sauce tasted like a cheap bottle sauce. The decor was nice but felt like they practiced segregating their customers. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
Went thos past Saturday to Syosset.. Service- older waiter was somewhat nasty. Younger waiter much nicer. Waited a long time for our food. Food for party of 5 came out in 3 waves which is not acceptable. Food was good especially artichoke hearts. Menu was unimaginable.
Have been going to this restaurant for many years and have always had an excellent meal, service and value until last night. Went with 5 couples and we all left sorely disappointed. After ordering drinks and listening to the daily specials, we placed our orders and from there things went downhill. Our first course (2 salads for 10 people) was not served for an hour and 10 minutes and, when it arrived, it was not nearly enough for 10 people. We each ordered our own entrees and added three different pasta dishes to be shared among us. The entree portions were skimpy. My chicken Sorrentino consisted of 2 small chicken breasts and my wife's chicken Marsala was both sparse and nowhere near as flavorful as it has been in the past. Again, the pasta servings were barely enough for the table and one of the dishes didn't arrive until about 20 minutes before we left for the evening. Some in our party expressed dissatisfaction, but no attempt was made to alleviate our concerns. Surely the owner could have removed the charge from the long delayed pasta dish or offered a cup of coffee for the long wait to be served but nothing was offered. Mind you one of the couples are frequent customers with a long history of dining there. No matter. Will have to think long and hard before going back.
I was looking forward to dining here because of the 4.4 stars and great reviews. I was wildly disappointed. We sat at the bar for drinks and dinner. We had 5 “servers” in the 90 minutes we were there and not one of them ever checked in about the food or drinks. We had to wave a server over to get our check, after being left at an empty bar for 15 minutes. My fish was overcooked and the wine list was lacking quality wines.
Wedding reception in a closed room but poorly setup for the existing hvac system; entering the room and sitting at the far end, there was a nasty cold draft of air from poor ventilation of warm air. At least two of us were feeling the cold air as the hvac system cycles on/off.
Saturday night dinner experience. Overall a relatively busy space. Cramped into a table for 6. The service was mediocre at best. My main complaint was the quality of the food. While the portion size is adequate, the quality of the pastas and sauce is subpar. All the pasta is overcooked and mushy. The sauce tastes like they were out of a can. The chicken entree was decent. The problem with the dish was we requested ( as the menu enabled at an additional fee) to have the meat off the bone, however there was still a bone in some pieces. With so many positive reviews, I was hoping for a better experience. May give them another chance when the restaurant is not as busy .
Not a great experience. Came for an early dinner. Other than the specials, the waiter said nothing, explained nothing about portions, etc. The food was mediocre italian fare. Fried mozzerella was fried balls of cheese- strange presentation and hardpressed to find any cheese inside. Waiter only came back to ask if we wanted coffee or dessert, never asked if things were okay etc. Terrible service. Wouldn't return to any of their locations
(Syosset location, all my pictures are taken as served) Walking in, the lighting is dim but not enough to compromise vision, there are paintings hung up to fancy up the place, but it doesn't feel quite as exquisite as it wants to. The bread was crunchy, if you're into that, I prefer it to have rough crust but be soft on the inside. We noticed, partway through our visit, that a roach was crawling on the table. Later on, water rained down from a lighting fixture. Then, the wait staff was short with us, which made us hesitant to even ask them to clarify themselves due to the language barrier. The best part of the meal was the main course, chicken marsala, but even that wasn't particularly inspired. The tiramisu was good, except for the large parts of it that were drowned in liquor. The wait staff was constantly in a rush to take our plates away, in an almost aggressive manner. If the idea of the tiramisu was to get me drunk enough to forget what was wrong here, they should've given me a double serving. Overall, this place needs to audit itself, but it's redeemable. Maybe make better hiring choices.
I was so disappointed with the food. We ordered scaparelli and the chicken was burned to a Crisp. It was awful
The restaurant located in Hauppauge was awful. Service was slow and the waiter was extremely rude. Definitely will not be going back here!
This was awful we waited close to two hours for our food even though we were some of the first people there. Decent food but awful service
Dropped in to try Steve’s for a quick afternoon bite .. I have heard so much about it and have never been . It was early like 4:30 no one was there so i sat at the bar . Ordered a dozen baked clams and asked to try the wine . There was no happy hour so i asked to try a sip of the pinot grigio and didn’t care for it so the bartender then pulled out a bottle of chardonnay from the ice and said try this . It was good so i went with that . Bread was fresh baked clams looked delicious but had a funny taste to them almost like blue cheese was on them . They told me it was parmesan cheese mixed in with the bread crumbs then put under the broiler .. Way to strong for my liking would of rather just had more garlic than this strong pungent cheese odor . Needless to say i asked for the check and to my surprise was charged $18 dollars for that glass of chardonnay . What nerve not to tell me …. $12 , or $14 ok but $18!! I felt blindsided and brought it to both the bartenders attention and the older manager who merely shrugged his shoulders and couldn’t have cared less . What a big disappointment for my first experience in a town where restaurants are hurting for customers . Needless to say i won’t be back . This is no La Parma .
This was our first time here and it was most disappointing. We asked to share a salad and were charged for two salads. We waited 45 minutes for our main course while several tables received their food while we waited. The waiter gave lame excuses. Everything is a la carte and not worth the price. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
The food was served in massive portions, even in single size, none of us was able to even eat half of it and we had to take it home. The service was not really great, it took really long to prepare the food and forever to pay. They seemed to overwhelmed with splitting the bill, and after we gave them a tip, the manager came back and asked us if that is all. Extremely rude. Also the restaurant didn't accept our visa cards, which always work, so that was annoying as well. Definitely won't go back there again.
First of all this place smells very bad. Went there yesterday with my husband for lunch and was very pissed overall. The appitisers and sides we ordered were not fresh i could tell like it was frozen food just warmed. Also the portions are strange. Would never go there again or recommend.
Came here on a Saturday night and sat down at like 645. It was not super busy, but soon to be. Service was terrible. Waiter shows up with 2 menus, one was incomplete (had no wine list on back), and no menu for my kids. One kid is 5, OK, I get that. But the other is 9 and massive. He can read bro. Food took absolutely forever. The table next to us was their wheelhouse type of a customer (baby boomer aged, typical sheltered Long Island couple) and they were getting course after course brought out to them. While we waited. How dare we bring children we thought? Was that it? My kids are sitting quietly coloring and reading, so I don't know. I didn't feel like I was welcome though, that's for sure. An hour goes by. Not even an appetizer. Plus my wife asked them to fire the kids stuff with appetizer and just bring it out whenever it's ready. We ask that everywhere we go because my kids eat slow. The request is always followed and easy for the restaurant. Not so for Steve. She finally gets up and asks the host what's going on. We get a half passed apology.and stuff finally starts coming. Let me say something good - my wine was served nice.and cold. Which it should be - crisp. Food portions are huge. My kids loved their meals. Each ate everything (they were starving at this point). Our appetizer showed up with their stuff and our entrees still took a few mins longer than it should have tbh. I think we got our entree like 90 mins after we sat down, (before the rush, it was grandma time still). I feel like they knew they screwed up and no one cared. They could've sent the manager over with a sincere apology to check on us. "Hey, I'm so sorry guys. Really. We dropped ball." And send out a small dessert on the house. THAT might've made me give it another shot. But nope. Full bill, no apology, nothing. We were there for over 2 hours and had 1 appetizer and entrees. And they never asked me if I wanted another wine until I was basically done with my entree. Unfortunately, this review won't matter because there will still be a ton of boomers scarfing down their flavorless food like it's got a Michelin Star. It was pretty bad. We will not be returning.
We went here for my daughters birthday and brought a few of her friends. After taking our drink order we didn’t see our waiter for 35 minutes. We spoke to the manager and he took our order. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. After another 30-35 minutes we floated the idea of getting the food to go and leaving but the food finally came out. Good portion sizes. The flavors were fairly bland and not memorable in any positive way. The girls enjoyed one of the dishes. The rest was meh. Will not be returning.
