This is a great find. You walk in looks like a convenient store. They have every kind of beer you could think of here. They have your bud, labatt's, Coors and Miller's but they also have a huge variety of craft beers. Then you get back to the deli. You can get a sandwich or burger. However around lunch time each day you don't know what you will come into. Pasta creations or baked chicken or pulled pork. You just really never know and I love that. I have yet to be disappointed in the food.

I love going here, food is always great, beer selection is top notch. I had the guys cater a holiday party for my teams and everyone loved the food, got riggies, ziti, meatballs ,sausage and salad. It was all great and priced nicely. Best of all is always the service.

Great place to grab a sandwich and a 4-pack of beer. You can also grab single cans and build your own mix pack. My girlfriend and I ate from the deli. She says “that was good. That was like hmmm i don’t know... good”. I think that means good. I don’t know, but I enjoyed my food.

Absolutely amazing sandwiches and the people are very friendly. I watched them give a free meal to the UPS guy and it melted my heart. Hard to find such good people these days but they are at this place.

The staff can leave quite a bit to be desired on a bad day. If you walk in at noon and it is busy it will be an hour visit at least. Learned that after a few times, but as stated above, the food is great.

The banner proclaiming an "AWESOME REUBEN" isn't a lie. Too many delis try to impress with huge portions, but a great Reuben is all about proportions. Fair Deli gets it perfect. Judging by the speed with which my 10 year old made it disappear, their meatball sub must be pretty good too. The store has a very impressive selection of craft beers. If I find myself traveling through the area again, this is a must-stop.

I just went in there and got probably the best breakfast sandwich I’ve had in my life. A soft but warm bagel, perfectly runny eggs, melty cheese, delicious bacon and he even stuffed a hash brown inside of it. I paired that with one of the cookies they have and man oh man that was one hell of a meal. Not to mention the place was very clean. You can really tell the owner takes a lot of pride in his business 10 out of 10 I recommend this place and I will be returning!

Best sandwiches around. All are made with great ingredients and are absolutely delicious. Great group of people running it and service is always great and fast. I work down the road so I am in more than I care to admit. My coworkers and friends have become regulars now too.

This is a hidden gem! Amazing subs at great prices. My sub was absolutely huge. It was so good, I tried but just couldn't finish it. This place is definitely worth checking out for lunch or dinner. The crew was very friendly and also very accommodating, fulfilling every one of my requests with pride. And when they didn't know an answer to one of my questions, instead of making it up or shrugging it off, they went and asked the manager and got the answer for me! Thank you! I made my first visit here after reading about where to get the best sub in Syracuse. Definitely a great sub! Besides the good eats, place is packed with unique craft beer selection. A real family atmosphere, with comfy seating and friendly service. Can't wait to go back!

Wonderful service, had their famous Ruben sandwich with red cabbage, as suggested by the pretty lady behind the counter. And it was awesome!!! I have to hit this place up every time I'm in Syracuse for their amazing Reuben's! Strongly recommend for anyone in the area for their sandwiches. Beer here is always an adventure, I have my favorite sours which they carry and I try to find a new beer they help me pick out. Very friendly and knowledgeable about there products. The Deli was closed but my timing was lucky, Murad was outside when he asked me what I wanted, I replied a sandwich, he said come on in: he proceeded to make my sandwich: ham and turkey with Provolone. Always incredibly helpful when it comes to locating and buying kegs of beer. Every time I’m in need of a barrel, even something obscure or not local, it’s at the deli a day or two later. A quality deli all around, as their sandwiches are unmatched locally and their consistent quality will keep my loyalty. My boyfriend and I both got subs, they were huge and the ingredients are so fresh!!! Everyone was so friendly. They have $2 hugeee fresh peanut butter cookies and it was seriously the best cookie I’ve ever had. Will definitely be returning.

I was beyond fortunate that when I stopped by on a day they were closed for cleaning and catering they deemed me worthy of ordering a sandwich and let me in. It was amazing! I underestimated the spiciness of the relish but amazing none the less. These are great people and I will go back whenever I have the opportunity.

The nicest people own this fresh and wholesome market. I'm beyond impressed with the menu selection and value for your money. I went late at night when they could have closed but graciously they never once acted like I was an inconvenience. I even was asked to sample a few items to be sure I liked it before being made. I visited this sandwich shop after hearing high praises from a naive Syracuse wine shop owner. I stopped by for a late lunch and was greeted by a welcoming environment surrounded by sandwich enthusiasm. The owner is one of several sandwich makers on the line and often hand delivers his creations with pride. It was clear after tasting my skillet prepared stake sandwich without the bread that it was made with love and devotion to delicious food. I’ll just say we had a safe atmosphere and delicious lunch. They say when traveling, eat where the locals eat. So when no less than ten Sheriffs (each in their own vehicle) began showing up for their lunch I chuckled that we were in the right spot. Give it a try !

Sandwiches here are massive and delicious! I tried the chopped Italian and the Reuben. I enjoyed both but the Reuben was the star. Absolutely amazing and huge!

Tried this location from a recommendation and they didn't disappoint. Tried the shaved steak sub in the first day and it was delicious. The following day I tried the reuben and that was by far the best reuben I have ever had. Service was kind and courteous and fine from ordering to eating was reasonable for lunch time. I will be coming back again.

The sandwiches were big and really flavourful and the fridges had a wide variety of sodas, some gourmet and great selection of beer that you could sit and watch some football and at the end they would ring your food up and scan each bottle.

It’s the BEST deli on the East Coast, if anyone goes anywhere else they’re missing out on the Best food, service and the finest people ever‼️ I can’t say enough about their operation. I’ve spent many years traveling on business and have been to-SO MANY deli’s and not one can even come close to the State Fair Deli. First time visiting the deli tonight for dinner & we were very happy. We had a turkey sub, a chopped chicken Caesar sub & a chicken parm sub. The quality of the products speaks for itself- From the rolls to the deli meat- it was all delicious & super fresh! And on top of it all these people are so nice!! I can’t wait to go back.

Ok so let's start with atmosphere: adorable and cozy vibe with stuff to look at and buy from delish desserts to the hot Tom's sauce to beer, energy drinks, sodas etc. Love it entirely. Let's hit service and food together: family vibe and great service. I kept it simple and just got tenders but will 100% go back for more and actually plan to look into catering from them. Food was delish and fresh! I don't know if they made the tenders out of a chicken cutlet but *chefs kiss* because so yummy. Ill update this review when we go back for sure. I bet everything is amazing. I wonder if they make all their sauces like hot sauce and blue cheese. It just reminded me of going to my grandmother's with the whole family. My girlfriend ordered the Thanksgiving sandwich, which came loaded with tender turkey, cranberry sauce, and stuffing — the perfect bite of comfort food. My wife and I were traveling NY thruway 90 between Albany and Niagara and stopped for lunch halfway, in Lakeland near Syracuse. Got the best sandwiches 🥪 in NY (according to Google reviews) and we agree 😋!! Fenomenal service and good value 💲for luscious Sammies! You have to try the "Awesome Reuben" ; the "Powerhouse" (or "Wyatt") and "The Famous Zorba Sub" were just as tasty! 🤯 Only minutes off of 90 for a great lunch. 👍

My wife saw a review online and we were going to be in the area for the NYS archery tournament at the fairgrounds. Fair Deli was right down the street. We had never had a chopped sub before. So we stopped in. The chopped sub was totally worth it. We also ordered the chicken cutlet with roasted red peppers, onions, and melted cheese. The chicken was so crunchy and juicy. Tons of great flavors. The other great thing was they had other food items. My daughter had fries and mozzarella sticks. They were also delicious. There is an endless wall of drinks including alcohol. It seems like a popular place to meet friends and just hang out. The atmosphere was fun. Lots of tables but also leather chairs to chill in.

My wife and I didn’t know what to expect, so we ordered our usual “diner/deli” test sandwiches. I got a Ruben, and she got a fish fry. When I got the bill, I was a little let down, because the two sandwiches and fries were over $40. Then, I opened the box to what you see in the first photo. Ho-Lee-Cow! This is one of those places where you get what you pay for. The sandwich was good, my wife even commented that the sub-roll for her fish was great. We couldn’t even finish it. Even the fries were good. Everything could have used a little more salt for me, but they have salt at the tables, so it doesn’t matter. I got the sun drop Reuben. So, they had fried eggs on it too. The corned beef didn’t taste like super cheap deli corned beef. It was good. They even had some good crispy bits from the cooking. Definitely good and worth a visit. Reminds me of those good little local places I grew up with. Solid food.

Don't know how I went so long without knowing about this place. Friendly atmosphere and service, staff is awesome, beer selection is outstanding, food is off the charts. Best Reuben sandwich I've ever had. I'd like to try something else, but I can't stop eating the Reubens, lol. They let you make your own 4 packs to go (from inside the cooler so the ones in front are left intact), or have one while you wait. Buy a full case of 4-packs (6 total) and get a free sandwich. It's hard to explain, but... I can go there by myself, and I don't feel alone. I love the place. Cheers!

They have absolutely the best ruebens in Syracuse. I particularly like the red cabbage version. But limiting yourself to solely those would be a serious mistake as they have such a wide variety of sandwiches to try. They also have one of the best selection of craft beers in their coolers in the area. They've rehabed the place recently to increase seating.

I really enjoyed my experience there. The only reason I gave 4 stars on food is because the pricing is just too high for me for what i got. Tenders and fries were $19, but big subs could be $13. Overall for someone who loves meatball subs, this place is for you.

I got the Murad sandwich and it was amazing. The ingredients were all fresh and tasty and the lady who made my sub was super nice. This sub was delicious and it was a monster. My only minor complaint is that the prices were a little on the steep side. I understand that premium goods come with an associated cost, and I will definitely return, but I just feel that the prices were a little high.

Friendly staff. The beer unfortunately was lukewarm as they explained the cooler had recently been down. The Reubens tasted good but wasn't grilled long enough and the bread was soggy so it tore apart and was difficult to eat and infact I threw half of the bread away. The French fries were also lukewarm.

Ordered DoorDash. That was fine, I ordered a grilled cheese and ham. I asked for it to be toasted well because I’ve been to places that don’t. It was horrible and barely toasted and soggy and greasy.

I am giving this business a 1 star rating for a few reasons. But first, what's great about them. They do have a large selection of craft beer and the owner is very outgoing. That's cool. They also have the potential to make some really delicious food. However, they do not seem to be enforcing the no mask/ no service rule. They are chronically short staffed. The owner takes liberty of changing your order based upon what he thinks you might like. It's frustrating to see wasted potential.

Food was great . What I don’t appreciate is paying $15 for beer that expired in 2023. The sign said free I assumed because it was seasonal beer I end up getting charged for it anyways I assume bc I’m young and she thought I’d know no better . When I got home i realized I was sold year old beer that she had no business charging me full price for . Businesses will do anything for some extra money . But rather than going to get a refund I’ll just write a review they need the money more than I do obviously. Edit: the beer isn’t even in season it’s spring not fall so no it wasn’t obvious to me that I was charged for something that was old rather than maybe a seasonal beer from a couple of months ago😂 money isn’t a problem for me so I didn’t care that I was being charged or care to ask. I was on break and called in an order I made an head of time and waited my whole break anyways so was in a rush to head back to work . And no thank you have the money . I know better for next time .
