It was ten minutes after ten - Johnny Mac's closes at 10pm. We had just come from my daughter's volleyball tournament and tried to go downtown to Jimmy-John's only to find out they were closed (before the time listed on their website), so we were pretty disappointed. We then ran over to Chipotle's. Not only did we walk in to 4 garbages completely overflowing on to the floor and every table needing to be wiped, but a descent size line that after waiting for at least 10 minutes, didn't even budge! So we headed back to the hotel and hoped to see something open on the way. Thank you Johnny Mac's! We saw a few cars still in the driveway and although the "Open" sign was turned off, my husband decided to see if they would allow us to do a quick order to-go. Thank goodness they were happy to oblige and even though he only asked for 2 slices, they gave us 4 as not to have to throw it away! The slices were delicious and really hit the spot! Thanks Johnny Mac's! We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

Wow, such amazing pizza! Honestly I never thought I’d write a review on pizza however the tastebuds in my mouth completely over took my brain and I finding myself driving across Syracuse as I live over 30 mins away just to catch a bite.

Everytime I go here people that work there are super friendly and always willing to get you whatever you want even if it's not something on the menu they make wonderful boneless wings and always have a great assortment of pizza slices always fresh hot and ready for lunch wonderful place to go

Johnny's always does great by me. Been going there over 16 years. The best pizza I have had since the 80's? Try the sausage marinara, make sure they crisp it up. It is delish! Love 'em!

Found this pizza place from a video on Tik Tok, I moved here from NJ so I do have high standards for pizza. We got the bourbon chicken and a plain medium pizza. Very good, thin enough and chewy. My only gripe is I’d love to see more gluten free options as far as crust. I will be back!

Very crusty powerful crunch at the first bit. Lite dough with amazing crispy crunchy crust. It's a good slice of pizza and the sauce is there maybe just the toppings over power the taste of the tomato sauce. The topping of sausage, pepperoni and mushroom was a good choice for first time here. Either mushroom or plan cheese are my go to. Vibe of Coca Cola by the color red.

The pizza was absolutely phenomenal. There is no way to fake the quality of a crust.That's baked on a baker's pride.Stone bake oven. That crisp is impossible to get on some conveyor belt piece of s*** system. The staff was friendly. The place isn't much to look at. It's easy to tell that it's a normal carry out place. But I wasn't there for the lighting in the tables. I was there for a crispy. Crust, foldable, perfectly baked new york style pizza, and that's what I got. Keep up the good work boys, so I'm back through this area. I'll stop by again and get two. If I had one comment, add garlic knots to the menu. The dough that you make the crust with would make a perfect garlic knot. And I would love to be able to dip them in that sauce.

Randomly went here on a Thursday afternoon with my 2 kids (4 and 10). Got a couple of slices and some wings. The garlic parm wings had excellent flavor and were cooked perfectly (crispy but not overdone). Very nice staff too.

First time trying Johnny Mac’s last night and was very impressed. Pizza was excellent, dough and sauce tasted great and they were friendly and personable when picking up. All around great experience and will definitely be back!

Johnnie Mac’s Pizzeria and Deli, located on 894 State Fair Boulevard in Syracuse, New York, is  a small, unassuming restaurant specializing in pizza, subs, wings, pasta, and other dishes. We arrived minutes before 4 p.m. on a Saturday. The restaurant was empty, so we had our choice of the four or five tables that were available. We ordered and paid for our large, 16” pepperoni and cheese Sicilian pizza at the counter, grabbed our soft drinks from the nearby cooler, and sat down. About 15 minutes later, our order was brought to us. The pizza was delicious. The dough was soft with a firm crust. The amount of pepperoni and onions was perfect: not too little and not too much. Although I wanted more, there was just not enough room in my stomach, so we decided to just put the two or three remaining slices in a box and left. Since we visit the nearby state fairgrounds once or twice a year, I will look forward to returning to Johnnie Mac’s, perhaps for one of their specialty chicken pizzas or perhaps their calzone. Although I didn’t see anybody come in during our visit, I’m sure Johnnie Mac’s offers takeouts. One can also order online. The place is clean and inviting, and the staff members are extremely polite and courteous. There is also plenty of room for parking. If, like us, you’re visiting the state fairgrounds for an event, take the time to travel the two miles to Johnnie Mac’s. You’ll be happy you did.

Very friendly staff. (even those that didn't work with me directly were nice to me) The dough is definitely in the top 5 of all time. I took an older slice (mushroom) and a newer slice (pepperoni) for comparison and the dough held up! Personally, I like a little more spice to my sauce but still well worth it!

Pizza was fine. Just like any other pizza in the Syracuse area, it's somewhere above mediocre. Still looking for that perfect pizza but I'm not sure Syracuse is capable of above average pizza. Service was great though. Overall, not bad!

Passing thru Syracuse on a Christmas trip. Asked hotel receptionist for a pizza delivery recommendation. Wow, very pleasantly surprised. Excellent pizza and delivery service was on schedule. Definitely a repeat the next time we're in Syracuse.

Pretty typical pizza place. It tastes good and I like that you can just pop in for a slice if you want. The ranch fries are delicious and even a small is huge. I would give it 5/5 but there really isn't anything standout about it.

I order a pizza for pickup, since I was coming home from Walt's Hobbies which is near by. It took a few more rings then expected to pick up. The ready time was 40 minute, which I thought was a bit long for a pick up. The pizza was your classic Central New York flavor. The crust was doughy but with thin crispy bottom. The taste was about what you would expect for CNY, so not that bad. It looks like most of their business is actually delivery. So if you are staying at the hotels near the NYS Fairgrounds, like Best Western, Holiday Inn, Clarion Inn & Suites, The Comfort Inn, or The Western Ranch Motor Inn, this would be a good call if you wanted to have pizzas deliver to your hotel room.

Good food fast! I’m a trucker. Whenever I pick up a load at G&C foods and have time, they are my go to. Delivery is on point and the food is delicious! They brought it right to my truck #5519!

Anytime I order from here, it's always good food and fast delivery. Have had zero issues, and I order on a weekly basis. Pizza is good, wings are great.

We ordered the New York style thin crust and was very pleased. Crust was done and the toppings were not greasy. The Garlic wings were cute crispy.

Customer service was great pizza was okay. I tried their cheese and pepperoni slices, the pizza seemed salty, didn’t have much sauce on it, the crust was ok but tough to the point my jaw was actually tired from chewing after two slices. It’s worth trying as I’ve never had pizza like it anywhere else, but in comparison to all the pizza I’ve experienced there is much better pizza out there, their pizza doesn’t leave me wanting to come back for more.

I'm not one to complain. Yesterday I ordered the 10 wings and large pizza. When my order came there was nine wings they weren't cooked as I asked and I got all wings one leg. My pizza wasn't like normal either. Bummed that my food wasn't up to par. Usually super good and made to order. Not sure who or why my food was not up to par 30 bucks and ate a slice and one wing. I hope they make it better on my next order.

Our experience here is that the service is substandard. The last two times we have ordered from them it has taken an unacceptable amount of time to receive our order. In our most recent order, we were told 45 minutes up front, which is fine. But it wound up being 2 hours, which is not cool.

Pizza was lacking sauce and tasted horrible crust was like cardboard will not eat there again. Theres a reason there pizza ia cheap only way they can get people to eat it

Waited FIFTY MINUTES(50) for 2 subs that were horrible and stale. Repeatedly had to ask if they were even making my food as they served others. Didnt offer any apology for the fifty minute wait for 2 subs

Was not impressed with the food. It was not worth the high prices. The atmosphere was less than satisfying due to the uncleanliness of what I would call a 'hut.' The employees were noisy and rude. I would rather eat at dominos.

Sorry Johnny but this is the first time in my life I was served a pizza with no sauce on it. I came in from Buffalo for the RV show. Looked on my phone for a good pizza place. I guess things are different in Syracuse. I ordered a cheese and pepperoni. I didn’t know you had to ask for sauce. Also the crust was hard on the bottom and the slices were hardly cut. Thank God I live in Buffalo even our bad pizza is better than that.
