Hands down Best, most tender kabobs anywhere. Everything is made fresh to order. We've been eating here for years & Always Love every tasty bite. Restaurant decor is not as fancy as the dishes, it is always clean and welcoming, with a nice outdoor space to eat too.

Love! Anything you get here is Delicious!! I love the chicken schwarma salad with the house dressing or wraps! If you love garlic 😋 and french fries get the garlic french fries you will be hooked for ever! and don’t forget the tzatziki sauce it’s fabulous! I can go on and on you can’t go wrong. One last thing… The owner is the greatest!! He’s usually there cooking😊

I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the before. Well i was only able to get the aftermath I was starving and I love myself a good lamb Mediterranean style. for sure here in the town of Tehachapi California has an amazing Mediterranean restaurant. It is very homemade. I will definitely go back.

Great middle eastern cuisine with outdoor dining and spacious indoor dining. Their shawarma is excellent, the lamb is really tasty and tender. The owners are friendly and will individualize your order as you prefer. It's clean, pleasant and the outdoor views are pleasant and breezy. Excellent menu options and wide selection.

My favorite restaurant in Tehachapi! Not necessarily for a fancy dining experience, but the food is fantastic, and I love lamb, and their skewers have huge chunks of meat & veggies. The plate is such a good deal: your choice of entree, plus Mediterranean rice, cucumber/tomato salad, hummus and pita bread. I can usually get two meals out of it because it's so filling! The baklava is to die for as well. When the weather's nice, there is outdoor seating, nestled in the heart of downtown Tehachapi, right across from The Hitching Post movie theater. Voted favorite restaurant several years in a row, for good reason. 😊

We were driving from Arizona and decided to find a place to eat. We saw the reviews and decided to try Petra Mediterranean. We were not disappointed. The eggplant melted in my mouth. Coming through this way we would go there again.

The food was great and came out promptly even though they were slammed at the time.

This was a surprise and delight to find along our trip home. Vegans will love this plate...babaganoush, falafel, hummus, rice lentil pilaf, tomato salad, dolmas...so good! Mint ice tea to finish it off.

What this place lacks in atmosphere they make up for in flavor. Absolutely delicious chicken shawarma Greek salad. The chicken was a bit dry but so flavorful! Fresh romaine, tomatoes, red onions and Kalamata olives and a generous amount of feta made this salad a meal! Surrounded by crispy pita chips and served with your choice of dressing. I chose the Italian because the house is made with lemon. I ordered the salad without the cucumbers. It was prepared as ordered. #allergygirl I also had the mint tea which you don’t want to skip. It’s refreshing!

It was a slightly different flavor than I'm used to - seemed more earthy? The cheese baklava was intriguing so I ordered one. Wow - it is a big portion! You could easily share it. I absolutely loved it. I would go here just for the cheese baklava. I was a little underwhelmed by the garlic fries. They were quite soft and seemed to have a stronger (amazing) aroma than flavor somehow. The staff seemed friendly. It looked clean inside. We'll be back to try some other menu items.

We stopped here on our way back from vegas and this place was a pleasant surprise. The food is one of the best Mediterranean food we’ve ever tasted. We had chicken shawarma plate and the hummus and both were amazing. Don’t forget to try their baklava too.

The baklava was the best I had ever had for sure! I would drive a little further to eat here instead of what is closer to the gas stations. You won't regret it!

Finally stopped in here after being told how good the food was and I have to say, the food is not good, it's AMAZING! We got one Beef and one chicken Shawarma, the medium hummus and the Ibrahim threw in a free baklava! The shawarma was full of meat and fillings. The flavor is exactly what you want from Mediterranean food. The chicken was great but the beef was my favorite. The hummus was better than anything you could ever buy in a grocery store. It was delicious. The baklava was the perfect end to an already perfect meal. So authentic and baked to perfection. I will definitely be back for more. I don't write long reviews often but when I do it's because it's just that good! (Or that bad lol) Definitely check this place out

Petra had an excellent assortment of options on their menu. We had the dinner plate with kebabs. We decided to go with one chicken and one lamb. The meat was extremely tender, moist and flavorful. The rice that the kebabs were served on was absolutely delicious and very aromatic. It was very moist as well. We got the baba ghanoush as an appetizer and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. It seemed like they put artichoke hearts in the mix in addition to the normal ingredients and it was very tasty and the serving sizes were quite large. You definitely get more than you pay for. We were just visiting Tehachapi for a day trip, but we’ll have to go back in order to eat here again.

Before you throw away the same money for fast food, drive a couple minutes and go here!! Incredible food, great prices, and friendly staff. A must go if you're pulling off the 58. You won't regret a second!!!

Food is top-notch. Good enough to try and ignore the dead "bugs that must not be named" on the floor in a couple places. The fact that they were dead is the only reason we stayed. Assumed they were fighting the issue already. We had already ordered, and it smelled amazing. 5 stars for the food and flavors. 4 for service, I understand it gets busy due to the great food. 1 star for cleanliness/atmosphere. Maybe it was following a big rush, but certain bugs should never be in a restaurant. It needed a sweep badly.

We travel a lot and get tired of routine American road food. Discovering real easy Mediterranean food; pitas, shawarma, etc was an absolute delight. The Jordanian family running the store were friendly and interesting. One of the nicest lunch breaks we have had in a while

We stopped on our way through town because of strong reviews. The servings were very generous. Probably could have split a lavish and fries. I had the lamb pita and it was very good. The fries were yummy . On the downside the bathroom was filthy and had no paper products and the table was not very clean.

Sadly, this restaurant did not live up to my expectations. We both love shawarma so we both ordered it. It was dry, over cooked and pretty tasteless. I had heartburn all night from this and had no interest in eating the leftovers the next day. And although the soft drinks were a little on the pricey side, they were simply 12oz cans. A real disappointment!

Food: Asked for the beef shawarma plate for takeout. The beef was so salty and dry that my blood pressure shot up sky high afterwards and woke up several times with a pounding heart that night. Why so much salt!?! Service: Nothing to write mom about. Atmosphere: What atmosphere? Overpriced as well. Update: I'm responding to your reply. I did not review the wrong business, I have a receipt for the purchase, it was only 2 days ago. I appreciate your reply but it's not good PR to make such a claim on top of things. You could have asked if I would like my money back instead. If I had stayed to eat in-house I would have sent it back to the kitchen, but as take-out after closing hours and not a local resident I didn't have that option.
