I am in love with the birria ramen noodles! This is definitely my go to restaurant 3-4 times a week… I love everything about this place!!!! The atmosphere, the food, the staff… A+
We were driving through Texarkana around noon and looked for the best rated Mexican restaurant. This was it! Friendly service, and delicious food. I had the chili relleno meal. A poblano pepper stuffed with queso, dipped in batter, with sauce and sour cream... mmmmm.... Perfecto!
The beef tongue and lamb were so tender they melted in my mouth. Servers were very gracious and helpful with ordering. I could tell they enjoyed their job!
I eat here twice a week at least. Food is delicious, owner is friendly, always have great service. The street tacos are my favorite. This is the most authentic Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in Texarkana.
Though I've never sat in to eat I absolutely love getting take out. There is not a single thing I've had so far that wasn't delicious. Food also seems very authentic and there are quite a few things to try that are not on typical "Mexican restaurant" menus.
Excellence 🥰🙌🏼 Love the food and kindness of people and the owners ❤️ decided to try this place since my daughter is best friend of the owners daughter. I am very impressed to see the place looks fabulous and clean.
Authenic and absolutely delicious! We stopped in on our way from southern TX to central IL. We chose this adorable, quaint place from the reviews online, and the reviews spoke the truth of the place! Friendly staff. Super clean. Would go back if ever in Texarkana again!
I have been a long term patron of this restaurant and they never let me down. Hands down the best authentic Mexican food in Texarkana. With a very large menu and great prices, also a great family friendly place.
I ate the Texas burrito with chicken... It was delicious! The salsa is amazing. Authentic Mexican food.... 👌The waitress and the manager were very diligent and friendly. Definitely will return! 😋
Best Mexican food I've had in years! Phenomenal sauces and the place was super clean. Music coming out of the kitchen was the best part I think, the iheartradio in the dining area sucked. Will tell everybody I know to go here!!
This place was absolutely phenomenal. My fiance and I were so happy we stumbled upon this place. The food is simply amazing, and the staff is limited but extremely courteous! Love this place would definitely stop again, passing through.
WOW!!!!!!!! That was literally amazing! Chips fresh! Salsa wonderful! Food….. if you want good Mexicans food this is the place! I travel a lot for work and coming across a place like this is soo amazing!! We both said if we are here tomorrow this is likely where we will eat again for dinner! THE MOLE 🤩🤩
My husband and I go here for lunch often. The street tacos are so affordable and they will even do them "keto" or low carb if you ask. SO GOOD!!! And the people are super friendly too.
Amazing food, amazing staff, was warmly greeted by the owner. Overall a great place for date night or evening out with the family. I will be returning 🤗
The food was very authentic Mexican. Just what I was looking for. The service was excellent, the server was very attentive. The atmosphere was ideally casual. Excellent dining experience.
This place is awesome! I've spent 12 years living on the border of Mexico in El Paso and hands down, this little place is better than any "authentic" Mexican restaurant that I have ever been to. So if you want some damned fine Mexican cuisine, YOU BETTER EAT HERE!
This food is amazing. My family eats mexican food regularly and this has been the best mexican food I've had in YEARS. Maybe best restaurant ever. My husband rates it in his top three as well. My kids and I all ordered different street tacos, all the meats were good. My husband ordered gorditos...it was amazing. Chips were fresh, salsa was good, and the refried beans reminded me of my grandma's house. My only regret with eating here is that it's two hours away from where I live and now I'm always going to want to come back.
Awesome place! Food is so tasty. Ordered the Monster burrito and the was enough for 3 people. Definitely going back for more.
Great food..Great service..great prices...visiting from Dallas and decided to stop by...the salsa was hot and spicy like I like it..I ordered the Birria tacos and my daughter ordered chicken quesadillas...the guacamole was the best...made fresh every morning(I know because I asked)..I definitely will be dropping in again..
Great food,I love their tacos, the Texas burrito is another one of my favorites, overall great place to dine on any given day.
Neat, clean little neighborhood restaurant. Excellent service, varied menu. I had the street tacos of shredded beef with beans and rice. The serving sizes were small and just right. We loved!
Wonderful service, and stellar food with unique and well-thought-out flavors. Tonight was our first time there, and I think it may be one of the best restaurants in the Texarkana area.
Great, authentic flavors, good service, and affordable pricing. You should try it out!
Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had! The salsas are spicy, which makes it all the better. Would 1000% eat here again.
Always good🩶thank you
My first experience here was phenomenal, the waitress was friendly and attentive, the food is five star and the atmosphere is great. I will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this place
Heads up - no alcohol. But other than that this place is great! Salsa has a good spice and just the right amount of heat. Street tacos were excellent. I recommend the barbacoa. The atmosphere is simple little diner. Our service was fast and friendly.
The birria tacos were tasty, the beef tongue was delicious, and the tripe was crispy!! 10/10 would recommend. The Shrimp tacos were also great, and the queso was delicious.
Food was amazing. I lived in San Diego, a boarder town, for years with authentic Mexican food all around and this place has the most authentic taste. I absolutely loved it. Even the chips and salsa were on point. Will become a regular customer!
Okay, I never leave a review, but this place was so good that I had to. It looks like it’s in an Old Pizza Hut building, but do not be fooled by its appearance. I had the Ribeye tacos, and they were the best tacos I’ve ever had. My mother had the fried beef gorditas, and they were fried to perfection. The salsa is spicy(but I love spicy) and the chorizo is amazing too!
Always enjoy a visit here. The tacos are a great grab. Thank you.
The food was superb! The only thing I disliked at all was that the tables were smaller and that my chimichanga had smaller pieces of steak in it that made it seem a little dry. The service was excellent and very courteous. The fried ice cream was an excellent first for our family! The country music playing was a great mix of new and older music. The queso blanco is so delicious as well as their homemade salsa. Just excellent flavor. Overall very happy with our dining choice and will return if ever passing back through.
Excellent as always. Have been going there since they were at the circle in Wake Village. Then followed them to State Line. Now they are on Texas Blvd, much better atmosphere and still wonderful food.
Great food, excellent service, average prices. Food is always phenomenal. Ordered the Tinga Sopes & Pastor Street Tacos, both were excellent. The chips and salsa were great as well. Service was good. Staff were friendly and food arrived quickly. Prices are pretty much what you would expect, ~$10/person. Overall an excellent place to eat in Texarkana. Los Ruvalcaba is my go to for Hispanic food when I am in town.
I love this place! The food is awesome and they're one of the only places in town with GOOD white queso. Waitress is really nice too. Always smiling and happy. Even when she's off. :)
The food is delicious with many varieties. Absolutely try the churro ice cream it is amazing! I've tried their tacos but fajita is still my go to. My husband gets huarache and some times a Mexican burger. My super picky toddler eats their corndog everytime.
I had street tacos shredded pork with a side of jalapenos. There were twos sauces brought to the table the red container was hot enough I probably didn't need the jalapenos. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Absolutely LOOOOVE this place they are so sweet. Customer service is Top tier. The food is delicious every. Single. Time. The best trust me I’ve tried others and no one compares to this restaurant.(:
I've eaten here for lunch several times and it has always been good. The cactus appetizer is really good as are their tacos. The place appears to be family owned and operated. The service is fast and friendly and the prices are reasonable. They have good lunch specials too.
The bacon and chicken tacos r AMAZING!!
Food is great. The staff was amazing. The staff treat you with respect. Our drinks were never empty. The service was quick. Orders of food came out quick. The food was amazing. My wife and I are truckers, we will definitely be back to this place next time we pass through.
Chicken bacon tacos! Always my go-to! Great, fast service. Multiple locations! Highly recommend
The service and the food quality were great! My daughter requested something that wasn’t on the menu and they made it happen. We both really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.
Stopped by for a quick lunch on our way back from Memphis. We are vegetarians and they were very helpful in selecting the right dishes. They told us that the rice had chicken stock and substituted it with beans on the enchiladas which were really yummy. Love the chips and salsa
The best Mexican food I have had in ages. Fresh made to order tortillas along with the most flavorful fajita meat. Just passing through town and love to visit the hole in the wall places and this one exceeded every expectation! The queso blanco was so creamy and dreamy too. Not one complaint. Everything was spotlessly clean too.
It was our first time in since it opened and the atmosphere was lovely and the restaurant is clean. The food was great. The service was amazing! Shorty was so sweet and kind to my husband and I. We will definitely be back. P.S: Thank you for your kindness, Shorty! It definitely did not go unnoticed.
I love it there I go once a week I would go more if I live there I live an hour away the food is the best around the people there makes you feel very welcome there plan on keep going back there for a while
I ordered beef nachos, I was not disappointed. They were delicious. Friendly staff and fast service. Very clean. The Birria Tacos are great. I had them on a previous visit.
Love.\nThe service in the food
This place is wonderful. The owners have put their heart into it, my husband stopped in driving through town and ate here twice, so much that we drove back from Arkansas so I could try it. The food is delicious and authentic, something you would find in Mexico, filled with flavor, spice. We spoke with the owner and she told us their story, her mom’s recipes…you can just tell these are family recipes that they are blessing the Texarkana community with. You will not be disappointed!! Get the Birria tacos. 😋😋😋
The torta ahogada was very good I definitely let them make my food se aventó el chef
Awesome food. Loved the chips & salsa & queso too. Great service. Glad I found this place & we will definitely be going back. They normally serve this on plates but just a little mixup so we got served in to go containers but only because we said that's fine. I needed to go containers because my dinner was way more than I could eat.
Looking for a good Mexican food restaurant in Texarkana, not as typical as in South Tx or Houston area.Located this place.I judge most of them by the salsa!👍It was awesome,so decided to try the breakfast! It didn't disappoint! Most of the complaints I see are just entitled people, thinking they are more important, than they really are and expect everyone to jump at their demands!!!🫤
This place is a gem. A small place off a busy street that people will miss it driving by too fast. The flavor was just right, and the portion is good. Great and friendly service. The decorations are colorful and has a strong Hispanic heritage look and thats what I like about this place. I would definitely come back here when I am in town.
Fresh, authentic Mexican food at its best! Perfect for lunch or dinner, always delicious—and the staff is so friendly. Highly recommend!
We have visited this restaurant 3 times. Always very clean and friendly service. Food is reasonably priced and super delicious. We will definitely visit again on our next trip to town!
First time visiting this spot, and I must say the food was great, and the customer service was great too! Best birria tacos I've had!!
Set your mouth for some Mexican food as it should be. Make sure you let them know when you order if you need to go soft on spiciness. Cool off with a bowl of their wonderful ice cream!!! Big plates of food for the money
Nice Mom and Pop place. Best thing on menu is whole fried Tilapia. Going to come out just like you are in Mexico. Tasty and real fun to pick apart and eat!
I'm from Texas and so I'm used to very well seasoned Mexican food. Service was amazing! The queso was amazing! The rice was a little bland, but the beans were good. Enchiladas were ok. Over all I would stop here again if I'm ever back in Arkansas, but not quite as good as north Texas Mexican food.
Great food, good service in low key digs. The Texas burrito was great, the steak was surprisingly good and the fresh made horchata was the best I've ever had. Definitely would stop here again.
Tacos were sublime, salsa was yummy with some kick, however the menudo is subpar and watered down. Service was pretty good, and took a little long. It's family owned and you can tell( in a good way) Prices were very good as well.
Four of us dined late one Saturday night. Staff was friendly, attentive, and patient. Service was quick but we were the only customers. All selections were well prepared, generously proportioned, and delicious. Pricing was reasonable. Unpretentious and casual atmosphere but some of the best Mex we've had in T-town. We will return.
Lamb taco a bit dry, but sauce offered to fix it. Great chips and salsa, friendly and attentive staff. Looks like they have applied for a liquor serving license.
The service was great very friendly. The food I ordered was torta Cuban 1 taco de Al pastor and agua de Jamaica. The torta was stuffed reason I gave them 4 start on food was it had yellow shredded cheese on it and if you know it usually comes with queso fresco and Oaxaca cheese but it was still good flavor. The taco flavor was really good tortilla was perfect oiled. Salsa were good they lacked on the spicy but the salsa for the chips omg that one there was perfect. The agua de Jamaica was perfect with the tart and sweetness it combined perfectly I’m not fan of it being to sweet so with that being said it was perfect. The place had a weird smell. Oh they had a old school pay phone like back in the day next to the bathroom
Ordered ground beef nacho's to go on a Thursday evening while in Texarkana for a football game. They took about 10-15 minutes to be prepared. Extremely friendly staff. They were somewhat different then what I normally expect in Kansas City. Average portion size, average flavor. Probably more of a regional thing, but the food was okay.
I had heard raving reviews about the restaurant. Brought my family there, well 6 of us. Was very disappointed. I got the Jacobe (steack and onions peppers and cactus) and while it tasted good it was so tough and chewey I could not eat it (in fact I Choked on a very stringy piece, almost needed aid from some one to breathe again). We never got our bean dip. We only got our Queso after asking again after food was served. Ordered unsweet tea, first got a diet coke, then got a sweet tea... finally got an unsweet tea third time around. My son's burrito has more chopped onions than ground beef so he didn't eat it. My other son split fajitas with his wife, shrimp fajitas, they were over the top good. My other daughter in law got Flautus and they were good.
So far service is mediocre, server did not greet me brought me a water with a I don’t want to be here face 😒😒. Menu’s are dirty never wiped down from what it looks like. Found some chip crumbs inside the menu and many finger prints. I’m Hispanic and I love my race but when you bring your kids to work and they are all over the place throwing things that’s unprofessional. The food is typical nothing exiting as far as flavors.
We ate at Los Ruvalcuva on a Sunday. We each ordered different types of meals. The food was served streaming hot. That is how we like it. We started out with drinks, which unfortunately set us on a negative attitude. My wife's water had a bug in it! I will leave the identification to your imagination. We flagged the waitress down and showed her the bug. She either had nerves of steel, or was indifferent. It made me feel this had occurred before. Each of us carefully checked our glasses and whew, no bugs. I would like to have seen the waitress show a little more emotion, but oh well. The food was very good. There was lots of it. I can't say a lot about the service. I will just say it was adequate. I might go back here, but probably not.
This place is very beautiful, but the service and taste of food is lacking. I went Sunday afternoon, there were only three parties (including mine) and I had to chase my waitress down for my ticket. The price of the tacos el pastor was decent, however they were bland. The chips were hard and the salsa was watered down.
I requested fajita veggies and chicken in my chimichanga and I got a partially stuffed cheese and chicken the queso was thin on top couldn’t taste. Chips and salsa are left out in the open in the dining room by the drink station. The crispy tacos were good. Quick and friendly service.
Salsa was too spicy for my taste, the cold chip sand salsa are left out in open by drink station. Chimichanga I requested to be stuffed with the fajita veggies and chicken. All I got was a partial stuff shredded chicken and cheese. Couldn’t taste the thin coating of queso. The crispy chicken tacos were good though. Overall Had good service and food came quickly.
The food is really good. The people are always very nice and courteous. The decor is good. The pricing is fair. The location is convenient. Only problem is they put half the amount of queso on the food as the other restaurants. That is always a problem here. Ask for more cheese then they charge you.
I visit this place almost everyday when I work. The young lady with the black hair always get my order right, she even knows the order by heart now. She’s awesome. But the white heavy set man with the glasses never does. I always order 5 steak tacos with no onions. Mad the two times he’s taken my order there are always onions on my tacos.
Don’t ever go here and pay with card they will add a tip and up your price!!!!! I purchased 12 tacos the total was 36.73 then I thought man that’s high it said 2 dollars a taco online menu but I paid for it then when I look at my bank statement they added themselves a 10 dollar tip on top of the over priced taco so please be aware of the thieves!!!!!!!!!!
Placed a $50 order through waiter tonight and requested they put cheese on my tacos. The restaurant called and (quite rudely) told me they will not put cheese on my tacos without charging extra. I told them I would pay the extra money and they told me they couldn't do that either. I told them since I couldn't get the tacos I wanted I would like to cancel my order. She told me "my order couldn't be canceled since it was already started and if I wanted cheese I should have ordered it under "sides tab" on the app." Here I am sitting and waiting on food I do not want that they did God knows what to. Needless to say I won't be eating whatever shows up to my door. Truly wish 0/5 stars was an option.
Went to eat here and found a black hair at the bottom of our chips, decided to tell them and leave, they accused us of it being our hair (I’m blonde) and still charged us $5 for 2 teas that tasted old. The lady was very rude as well. Never apologized for the hair or anything.
They need to work on cleanliness. There was hair in chips and when brought to the owners attention they tried to blame on us I wish I would've took a picture of it but the hair looks like it belong to a straight hair Hispanic culture and I'm African American with gray curly hair and my friends that were with me were blonde hair and after seeing that we order water and tea not only did they not try to make it better to get us to stay but charge us 5dollars for tea that wasn't touch because after seeing the hair didn't trust eating the food especially when the owners attitude was basically who cares you put that hair in the food I'm yea so will not encourage anyone to eat there in fact I'm going to call my friend that's over the health inspection and drop a hint to eat there and let's see how long they are in business!!!
I picked up an enchilada pladder and as soon as I got home (5min drive) I began to eat and the shrimp AND the chicken that were in my enchilada were hard as rocks. Shrimp was tough and the chicken was as hard as rock pebbles. Not sure if they gave me heating lamp leftovers or what but I’ll never spend my money again here. NO ONE was even at the restaurant when I picked it up so I’m not sure why they wouldn’t make my meal fresh!!
Place was totally Awful !!!! Not authentic at all! Horrible Service ...unfriendly server took forever Ice tea was pure sweet water Refills are not free!!! No barbaquoa street tacos Hot Sauce completely water down Spanish rice was totally dry Salad was not fresh Chili toreados very salty & not Jalapeños Do not waste your $$$$$ Taco Bell has way better food & better hot sauce & drinks with free refills The reviews are not from someone that knows authentic Mexican Food Worse place ever
Probably the absolute worst food I have ever eaten in my life, terrible.
I had the pork birria tacos & an “appetizer” of white queso. The queso was good but for $5 it was incredibly small. The birria tacos were very tough. Very overpriced for the quality & quantity of food. I won’t be returning.
What a disaster from start to finish. I Grubhubbed lamb birria tacos, tres leches cake, and an unsweet tea — instead, I got tacos slathered in refried beans that looked like they were slapped on by a toddler, no cake (they were out), no tea (also out), and a random strawberry soda with mini churros I didn’t order. Called the manager — zero help — and ended up driving across town to the Texas Avenue spot, only to be told I had to go to their mall location. After an hour of running around, I still had no cake, no tea, and bland tacos with crunchy rice. Best part was the beans — and that’s saying something. 💀 If disappointment were a restaurant, this would be the flagship location.
