Finally stopped in after saying we need to try it for years. We’ll definitely be coming back. The staff is super friendly! The plates are huge! We got stuffed and had leftovers. We ordered the fried cheese balls and devoured them. Ordered the kids chicken strip plate, calf fries meal, rib and one meat plate, and the kids corn dog basket. Husband said those were the best fried calf fries he’s ever had. The brisket was sooo good. French fries were hit with all of us! Ribs and sides were yummy too.

Love this place, the staff is great!!!!! The food is really good. The desserts are off the charts. I’ve been here several times. Hard for me not to give the food a 5 star. But I have my own reasons. I will continue to stop here every time I’m back in the area.

Nice little place. The interior is comfortable and clean. The pulled pork sandwich is great, with a generous amount of tender, juicy meat. The Mac & Cheese is delicious, with plenty of cheese and a hint of diced peppers to give it a little extra flavor.

Visited on a Sunday for lunch. Was packed. They cleaned off a table right away and got seated. Ordered drinks and when waitress returned ordered. Took a little while for the food to be served, but not bad considering the crowd. Attentive service, and the food was excellent. They used to only have bbq, but now the menu covers a wide variety. I had grilled Pork Chops and the person with me had grilled chicken sandwich. Big portions too. Sides were also good and waitress kept drinks topped off. Prices seemed reasonable. Atmosphere was also themed accordingly. I would return. 😋

First time here. We got 2 stuffed baked potatoes with chopped brisket and cheese. Also ordered 1/2 lb sliced brisket but they gave us chopped. No big deal. Now, I'm trying to write a fair review so here goes...potatoes and brisket were good but there was hardly any brisket on the potatoes. That was disappointing. However, the potatoes were only 8 bucks each so maybe that's appropriate, I'm not sure. The food was good and I would eat there again, but I was expecting more of a stuffed potato. See the pics.

Great service, ribs cooked perfectly, brisket a tad dry for me but good. Will return and try that brisket again and update. Overall, great place, great atmosphere and I love the fact that you can get a cold draft beer with your BBQ. Good job guys!

We really wanted to like this place. First impression was home in the wall. These can be the best. We met some people there and it's an old country like feel. Staff was super nice, but forgot fries, didn't check on us and we ran out of water. The food, we all agreed was average. The brisket didn't have a lot of taste, fries were good once they came, but not hot. Some loved the baked beans, I thought they were just ok. (They tasted like canned to me). The bread pudding is 3 of our favorite, it was so strong with nutmeg, I couldn't eat it and nobody liked it. The table was so sticky. I think it was just the verathane, but gross. There was no sign to seat yourself and we waited a few minutes to be acknowledged. We won't be back. It was very disappointing.

There was 4 of us, first time there. We had different things and the food was average for a bbq place nothing outstanding except the brisket, it had no taste and was very disappointing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

The server was fantastic, but the food was lacking in multiple areas the brisket that I asked to be fatty was dry the gravy had too much flour and it tasted like everything sat under a heat lamp far too long.

I read all the reviews and I don't know if we went on an off day or what (though it was Saturday). The brisket was dry and overall, the food was at best Dickey's BBQ quality, except the bill was $65 for 2 ppl and a child. I wanted it to be good, but it was not.

The people are super friendly and nice. The food was old and ridiculously bland. I had the “smoked” rib plate. The smokiest thing was the Sysco Foods BBQ sauce. I asked if the potato salad was made fresh or from scratch they said yes. The server didn’t lie he just doesn’t know. It’s all Sysco Foods they warm it up nothing is made from scratch, but they charge made from scratch prices. $29.99 for my rib plate. Great people but the food sucks. ————— My reply to your reply—-1920 CST The quality of the food suggests it was not freshly prepared. The meat appeared to have been cooked hours earlier and reheated through steaming, resulting in subpar BBQ. The potato salad seemed to be a pre-packaged product, likely sourced from a food service provider such as Sysco Foods. If necessary, I can obtain a sample for laboratory testing to compare it against standard food service offerings to confirm its origin. The food was bad. I was polite about it because of how nice the people were.

First timer and came to try the happy hour specials but was told they only have beer and calf frys for happy hour. Wich was not as they were advertising on Facebook So I decided to get a double burger and ended up with what looked like some HAPPY MEAL pattys on a regular sized bun . We dont plan on going back

I hate to leave a poor review for this place because of the history. I have been eating here since the early 1970s. I would ride my horse here to eat and also many times through the years with my parents. I knew the original owner Warren and he was always so friendly. He would come to our table with a dish towel over his shoulder and speak to us. Things are different now. Warren died, and the fire. Seems like for the last several years the food has been average. The picture of the chopped beef sandwich is example of what I have received many times now. I’m not sure why they don’t give you your moneys worth. I have to say the fries and warm bbq sauce are still some of the best anywhere.

Had biscuits and gravy. Smallest serving imaginable! Tiny tough biscuits, no meat in the gravy, zero! They must have saved the grease from a previous customer to make the gravy. Biscuits were tough, anemic gravy, worst dining experience in years. Definitely will not be back.

Beware! We ate here for the first time last night and both got food poisoning! We tried almost all the BBQ and nearly all the sides. I won’t be consuming the left overs or returning ever.

We stopped in hoping for good BBQ and a nice lunch, but left very disappointed. The brisket was edible but that’s about the best I can say about it, and my baked potato was so dry and stale I couldn’t eat it (tasted days old). My wife ordered ribs, and even though she isn’t picky, she said they were not very good. Portions were small, prices were high, and the service was slow and inattentive. Our food took a long time to come out, and when it finally did, it was just dropped on the table and the server didn’t bother coming by to ask us how it was or if we needed anything else. I’d been here once years ago and had a similar experience but gave it another chance since we often see the place busy on our way to Ray Roberts and my wife had never been. Unfortunately, it was just as bad this time. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but this one was well deserved.
