Team members were working hard and made sure we had everything we needed. Very friendly and accommodating. Good on ya Whitesboro location!! You have a great team!!!

One of the better Golden Chicks we have been in. We had the four piece fried chicken plate. The breast and thighs were large pieces. The drumstick was on the small size. The only con was the cashier at the register. He didn't seem like he enjoyed being there, and he needed to talk louder.

My family and I went to Golden Chick here in Whitesboro tonight and it was wonderful! We dined in and it was very clean, great service and the food was served hot and very good! I had the chicken livers and corn nuggets. The chicken livers were cooked to perfection with enough to carry out! The best I have ever had has been here! We already have plans of going back soon. This is our “go to” place when we want a tasty meal that is reasonably priced with a friendly atmosphere and quick service. Food is always fresh and hot. Service is prompt. Love the free ice cream perk.

So, who would think a fast food chicken store could be a favorite? This restaurant in Whitesboro, TX is our best after-church lunch place. Chicken so fresh it can burn fingers! Tasty, too. All the sides are better than average, for sure. Staff is kind and efficient. They could do better by not filling my plate so full… as I waddle out - with leftovers! And the best treat is…. (don’t tell)….complimentary ice cream machine!! ♥️🙏🥳

We are from Illinois and wanted to try southern style food such as catfish, gumbo, hush puppy and okra and so on. Somehow, we couldn’t find any good reviews from local restaurant so we chose Golden chicken. Ordered catfish dinner through Golden chick app and it worked prefect. Order was ready as promised and all food were hot and tasty. Wish they also serve gumbo as well.

Not all Golden Chicks are created equal. Some locations don’t mix their gravy well enough. Other locations serve old chicken fingers or coleslaw. This location is perfect. I would like to thank the employees who made me lunch today for giving me the best Golden Chick experience I’ve had in a long time.

Great service, great food. The drive through was very fast despite a line and the order was accurate and tasted great. They are very convenient to the lake and would he an excellent stop for dinner on your way out there. They always seem to throw in a few extra pieces, too.

First time trying this place and I got the 3 piece fried catfish meal and it was good and crunchy! The price was not bad. Even the package tarter sauce was good and I'm not a fan of tarter sauce. I'll definitely check this place out again

What is there to say? It's a fried chicken restaurant. Fried chicken is always delicious. The people working at the Whitesboro location are top notch. Always friendly. My wife and I stopped back in today (Dec. 4, 2025) for another meal. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Candice was wonderful. She took our order and we had it delivered before I could fill my drink and pick up forks and napkins. The other folks working today were making sure everyone's meals were getting out very quickly. The franchise owner has hired great people to work here.

Golden Chick in Whitesboro, TX really surprised me. The food came out hot and fresh, but what stood out most was the manager(or who I imagine was the manager” in the blue shirt — he was genuinely kind and down-to-earth. You don’t usually see that in fast food, especially in Whitesboro.

Never in my life did I think I’d be writing a google review for a fast-food restaurant since don’t eat at them often… let alone Golden Chick. Pretty sure this was my first time ever eating at one of these, but here we are. First off, the girl who helped me was late teens/early 20s, and she had nails that looked straight out of a Cardi B anthem. Perfectly done, 10/10. She was so nice and even complimented my fit — instant serotonin boost, thank you queen. Now let’s talk food: I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the BEST spicy chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Yes, I’ve had Chick-fil-A. Don’t come at me. But this one? The sauce actually had some kick to it. Like, real spice. Flavorful, crispy, perfect. Golden Chick, you’ve converted me. 10/10. Would absolutely eat again.

My chicken tenders were perfect. So fresh they almost fell apart. The reason for only 4 stars is the price...it was $25 for 16 tenders, gravy and rolls, and a gallon of tea.

Got a half and half 12 piece family meal, the golden chicken was delicious, the fried was overly greasy and tasted like old oil. Green beans were ok, mashed potatoes were delicious, but the gravy tasted like wet flour. Can't say much about the atmosphere or service beyond that the young man working the drive thru was polite.

Service was great. Did not get what I ordered, was disappointed, call and spoke with manager he made it right.

I ordered the 3 piece chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and I got gravy instead. The night I was there 4 people drive off. There has been a few other times they have messed up my order.

I ordered dirty rice as a side, I believe it would have been really good the day before. The rest of the meal was fine.

Good food, chicken strips are great tender spicy seasoning is really good help neefs better training cleanliness is one problem floor greasy around serving counter when we were there cause me to slip and spill 2 large drinks, help just stood there, didnt offer to help, i had to ask them to clean up spilled drinks, them had to ask for 2 more drinks, staff was not too knowledgable of menu of chicken peices on each order. Do have out side seating unknown about how clean the restrooms were, never got that far. Food was good . Will go back and rewrite review if ist better the next trip to whitesboro texas.

Sometimes it's hit or miss on the time it takes to get your food out. Food is usually decent. For the price, the side portions are horrible. Mashed potatoes cost pennies and so does the gravy. The rolls are close to a dollar each. That's the price of the roll and tax. Maybe offer 2 rolls. I understand some things are costly because of inflation and soaring food prices. But some things are still worth pennies. Staff should never come out of the kitchen and lounge at the tables while customers are eating. Some stand behind the counters and talk loud to the ones sitting at the tables. And also the choices of discussion should be limited. We shouldn't have to listen to staff talk about making their " special weed brownies" pretty tacky.

It's not the place to swing by and get something to eat if you're hungry after work in the late shift. Seemed to be a place ran primarily by high school students with poor or no supervision or management that basically seemed indifferent. Food is not bad here. But staff did not go out of their way to be polite or respectful and offer what i ordered. I was intentionally called "sir" by the young man while i was ordering when he interrupted the person that was taking my order over the speaker, to tell me that they were out of liver and gizzards. I highly suspect that they just did not want to cook them due to the time it took and it was close to closing. But I guess it could be that they were insufficiently stocked as well. Although I'm not sure how many people actually order liver and gizard seen it's not even on the menu outside. When i got to the window he blatantly disrespected me by calling me "sir" again handing me my food and plainly seeing i was a female.

We visited for an early lunch on Sunday, shortly before noon. My husband ordered the Southern Fried Fish and I ordered the Golden Roasted Chicken. He had a side of fries and I ordered a side salad and we had a family size order of fried okra. My husband's fish was hot and fresh. His fries were well seasoned but weren't as hot or fresh as the fish. My Golden Roasted chicken was a breast and a wing. For roasted chicken, it was extremely greasy. It also tasted salty. I looked up the nutritional information online and was shocked that it had about 50% MORE sodium than the fried chicken. At more than 1400mg of sodium for a single roasted chicken breast, what appears to be a "healthier alternative", truly isn't. The dining room was clean. The drink station could have used a quick wipe down. However, the floor was slick and an absolute hazard. It appears that they mop their dining room with the same mop that they use for the kitchen area, because even in tennis shoes, if you aren't paying attention, you could easily slip. The food, on the whole was a good value. The staff could use some additional training. It appeared that mostly teenagers were working during our visit. They were on their cell phones, rubbing their faces and eyes and on the large, obviously not happy about being at work. For the first time, in a long time, during the entire 30-40 minutes we were there, they didn't pass through the dining room to offer fresh rolls. We will return, because the improvements needed are small and my family enjoys the food. However, I will research the menu thoroughly before our next visit to make a healthier choice and hope to see some smiling faces on our next visit.

Went there today and ordered almost $80 worth of food and I asked for barbecue sauce. I got 2 small bbq sauces!! That’s unbelievable. People were all very nice there but for the kind of money you pay, you should get more than 2 sauces for a “family” meal!!

Fish was overcooked. I had to like it or lump it. Manager did not care what I thought. Gizzards were great.

Great staff. Food was soso chicken tenders we're done but seemed under cooked. Not raw but the breading didn't seem fully cooked. The rolls were very doughy and could have used a few more minutes of cook time. I will add we went during a lunch rush so this may have contributed to the undercooked feeling.

Busy during lunch, yet the service is friendly and quick. A little to quick. The chicken strips weren’t “Golden Chick” more like egg shell white Chick. They needed a little more time in the grease. Also, the first 2 I ate tasted like catfish, hmm.

This store has went downhill in the past 6 mo to a year. It smells dirty, there were a lot of flies, and everything had a greasy feeling. The customer service isnt great, and food seems to take quite a while, whether through drive thru or eat in. The icing on the cake was I was walking across the room with an ice cream cone and got dripped on by water coming from the ac?

The food was good. They had the place really Smokey and hot and blamed it on humidity.Turns out they didn't have their oven vent open or the a.c. on. The ceiling van outside was randomly turning on and smoking and shooting sparks out definitely a fire hazard. The employees acted pretty rude when we would ask for help. The man lied about not havinf any kind of season salt for my chicken and didnt know what to day when I told him there was a box of it right behind him.

We had fall off the chicken breading and no napkins with our order tonight. My wife and I were not impressed with the food. The fries were good though, that’s why it’s 2-stars.

I placed my order but when I checked it they had forgotten my chicken strips. They were more interested in gossiping than the order. So I went back a week later I sat in line for over 15 minutes and still no one came to the intercom!!

Been there a few times already and they never have the chicken cooked. 40 minute wait once then 15 minute wait the next. First time I just left and got food somewhere else. This time had to settle for something different than what I wanted! Would be nice if they would start preparing the chicken before lunch time and have it ready like most other restaurants!

Service is very very slow. Stood in line 10 minutes just to get my order placed. I ordered grilled chicken, it’s already cooked but I’m stuck behind the people waiting for the tenders so I don’t know why they don’t just move onto my order and get me out the door.

We got home with our meal and everything was shoved into one bag and as we took it out of the bag it fell everywhere the bottoms fell out of the boxes I mean it was horrible and then when I call up there to tell him about it all they could do was help me with 20% off they wouldn't even replace the meal when half of it went on the floor very disappointed in the Whitesboro Golden Chick

Waited more than 25 minutes in the drive-thru with only one car ahead of me. The Limited time Fletcher's Corn Dog was disappointing to say the least. Absolutely zero flavor in the unevenly applied batter. Not at all like the Fletcher's from the fair and not at all worth $5. Had a 20 piece tender family meal. Tenders were varying levels of done, from over done and dry to underdone with the breading falling off in chunks. Rolls where shoved in the box, so they were smashed and steamed beyond edible by the time we arrived home with our food. Asked for ranch for the tenders and was given two small containers for 20 strips. While the tea was fresh, that also means it was hot. There wasn't sufficient ice in the cup, to cool it off. All the ice melted and I was still left with fairly warm tea. There's a reason we haven't visited in a year and if today was any indication it will be another year before we try them again...at least

EDIT** In the two years since I have been going here this place has had a steep decline. It's still in dire need of renovations but besides that the quality staff who use to work there have all left. It's now a revolving door of children working there. Which is an issue since they lack quality staff to train them. Today I sat at the drive through for a few minutes with no one taking my order. When I pulled up to the window the employee looked at me and ignored me for 2 minutes until I drove off. The owner was there but also didnt seem to care. I encourage people to go elsewhere. Could really use a renovation but otherwise it's ok.

Went to drive through. Order was taken in a professional manner. Once I got to windows service was not. I was told total only. No other communication. Windows was so dirty you could barely see through it. Window was left open and you could see dust on everything. Very dirty store. Won't return

We made an online order on doordash - two sandwich combos with corn nuggets and jalepeno poppers, and a family coleslaw to share. We go to pick it up, and I send my husband in to get it since I'm 31 weeks pregnant and don't want to get up. He texts me they lost our order and apparently have to remake it (it's Friday night, it's busy, I get it) but then when he comes out with the order and I'm starting to check as he drives off were missing an entire combo of sides - one corn nuggets and one jalepeno poppers. So we turn around and he goes back in and when he tells the person in front what happened he audibly heard the girl in the back say "uh uh, I packed that myself" Sure enough, our sides were sitting in a paper bag - on the counter where they prep stuff, and was left out of the plastic bag they gave our order in. I understand stuff happens, but to be audibly rude when a customer points out a mistake and then not even bother to apologize is absolutely unacceptable. The food was good, that's the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one.

I ordered online through the app and I was not given the items I ordered. When I picked up the order they did not tell me they ran out of the item. It wasn’t until I checked my order in the car and ran back in that they confessed they ran out. This location lacks customer service. No management or training on how to handle customers. Just them being honest would have made a world of a difference.

I bought got a box of 10 pieces, thinking I could take leftovers to work for a few days. I ate two pieces that day. Later on, I had bad diarrhea. I was very sick for the better part of that day. I didn't eat any more until today and guess what? Yep, sick again. I'm throwing the rest of it out! It's much too greasy to be good anyway. Gag! 😲

I bought 8 piece chicken today.got home it was burnt and so dry my dog wouldn't eat it. Okra was burnt also..I bought gallon sweet tea..got home it was unsweetened...asked for 2 LG teas also..they were unsweetened.. dinner rolls were hard as a rock..I took back chicken and gallon tea and my tea hubby drank his... manager was so rude and hateful. She didn't want listen or see the chcken..just chunked it in trash. I will never go back again...for 35.00 I expect a meal we can eat.ill drive into Gainesville at chicken Express from now on.

I've been here in multiple occasions thinking it would be better. Incorrect. They are almost ALWAYS out of something. One evening they were out of chicken. Today, they are out of ketchup. They hand you drinks that have soda all over the cups. They do not ring things up as asked, I.e. no gravy on the plate then get upset when you mention it. You're simply better off going elsewhere.

The attendant was rude, smiled the whole time as if she was being spiteful. Didn't give me my extra gravy I paid for waited, but she kept ignoring me. Finally after a long wait for my gravy. Got home, didn't have any rolls. Every time I go there it keeps getting worse and worse. Now I decided, won't be going back and I'll be telling everyone.

Ordered my food online 30 mins before coming to pick it up and they told me that they haven’t even started my order yet and on top of that I had to wait an extra 15 minutes when I got there because they didn’t have any chicken ready.

I ordered a 12 peice family meal and they said we don't have that right now but if you wait 15 minutes we will have it and it will all be fresh. I said ok I'll wait. So I told the lady that it was all supposed to be fresh and she got really belligerent and started yelling at me, said if wanted to wait longer she could give me all fresh and that the chicken was fresh when she walked through the door. Which was at shift change 20 minutes ago. That chicken had already been sitting there when I came in. In the beginning I was told it would all be fresh and it wasn't. The food quality was great on 9 peices and so so on 3 pieces . If their staff is going to act like this lady I would definitely go somewhere else. I went inside because the drive through was backed up. My order total was $43.29

Felt dirty n sticky when I walked in. Had to ask for ranch multiple times when I ordered 2 9 price wings. Apparently, 1 sauce packet is enough for 18 wings. After asking got 1 more for a total of 2. Purchased 3 more left never to return. Use to be so nice n friendly. But after the manager came and said I was welcome to purchase more n I explained that I ordered 18 wings n got 1 packet she was the one that gave me 1 more....sad taking my business elsewhere....

I visited this Golden Chick in whitesboro Texas just off of highway 377 at 7:47 bought the nine piece wicked wings meal service through the drive-thru was relatively quick received my order but did not check the quality or freshness of my order upon returning home only to discover the wings had past their quality or freshness when the order was assembled. Employees should inform customers if there is a need to prepare fresh wing's I work hard for my money and expect better. No response to my complaint.

We drove to Whitesboro this morning specifically to eat here. Hours posted on the web and on the front door say open at 10:30am. They unapologetically unlocked the door at 10:50 and even then they weren't completely ready to be open. Very disappointing experience today. Really don't plan on coming back to this location.

Sunday evening on June 11 2003 , I witnessed a customer drop his drink by the trash and it went all over the floor under another costumers chair. I told the shift manager about it and she did nothing about it. I then told a young man that was cleaning tables off about it and after a few minutes he took it upon himself to clean it up. The shift manager was also very rude to me when I expressed my concerns to her about it and said she wasn't a waitress. So I took it upon myself to let the elderly couple know about the spill so they didn't slip and fall. The shift manager that night was a lady named lea.

Went thru drive thru after long hard day craving fish. Didn't get to eat right away so it was later that I discovered I got chicken tenders. Then was checking bank account for day, they charged me $27.83 for one meal! Not happy.

The food is good, but we have had our last visit tonight. We are so tired of paying for food that we do not get or how we order it. It is simple but the employees can not follow direction. The only thing is asking for no gravy, how hard is it for no gravy??? Then times there is something missing. Just check your order before you leave and I strongly suggest ordering inside.

Apparently they hire people who either can't read or can't count. I ordered the 12 price mixed.....got home and there was only 9 prices in the box. This isn't the first time I've been shorted on my order.....

Ordered 8 piece fried with rolls and 2 sides of Cole Slaw. Was told they were out of Cole Slaw but saw a worker scooping some out. Chicken very soggy and greasy. For $30+ not worth it. Should have just went to store and got chicken and cooked it myself. Will not be back. Also will fill out the form you mention in your generic response. It asks for way to much personal info. Bottom line is that the place sucks. Could have gone down the road or across the road and got lousy food for only half the price.

Stopped by to get a dozen rolls, they were inedible, crammed into a box almost like someone smashed them with a rolling pin. If I wasn't passing thru Whitesboro and noticed halfway to Sherman, I would've returned for a refund.

Haven’t been this sick in years. On 01/01/2025 my wife picked up some chicken and rolls after work. Chicken was room temp, old and dry. Rolls were cold, hard to pull apart, and not worth the effort of chewing. My wife and I have had severe gastrointestinal cramping, vomiting and diarrhea all night. Before this we spoke highly of this place and even brought friends and family over from Sherman and Denison to eat there. If we survive this we will never eat there again and we hope this serves as a warning to those curious, food temp and safety is very important. If you’re making food for yourself then do what you want, but when you’re cooking food for the general public to consume, follow the damn rules and send fresh food out to the customers. Sending questionable garbage out that should’ve been thrown away a long time ago is just lazy and shows you have no respect for the customers that come to spend their hard earned money there. This is ridiculous, do better!

I’ve been here many times and no issue before. However, I ordered some food through to drive through. When I got home and started eating with my family we noticed the chicken tasted weird. We smelled it and it smelled HORRIBLE!! It was spoiled.. I immediately took it back. They asked me if I wanted a new order and I declined. They were very kind about it and gave me a refund. If they wouldn’t have been so kind and understanding it would have been a different story.. I am just hoping I don’t get sick.. probably won’t be back for a long while. Make sure to check your order before you drive off.. 🤢

My uncle stopped in there today to pick up lunch and bring it to house. That was the most awful chicken! Zero taste, dry and hard. The green beans were really bad. Kudos on the mashed potatoes, gravy and roll. The chicken and beans went straight in the trash. Never again.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I have gotten my orders wrong twice,yesterday was the second and last time I step foot in here. I went and got take out ,a 12 peice mixed.2 sides,4 plus 3 rolls,bombers 4 peice and 3 extra peices of roasted chicken. Its was 39.99 plus tax and all the extras.Ok,I got home started taking stuff out to prepare my family's plates and when I get to the chicken I see nothing but chicken breast. I figured ok,they put nothing but chicken breast do I called and the guy (manager i suppose) told me to take in the box of chicken,and before hand hes like I dont even think we had 12 peices of chicken breast. So I went up there,with the box of chicken I started explaining to the cashier and he comes out and I explain that I calle about the chicken he looks in the box and asks where isnthe chicken,Again I say you all only gave me these 6 peices of chicken breast,He said you said there were 12 where isnthebrest of the chicken? I told him I didnt count it I figured they would atleast get the count right,so then he starts insinuating that I am hiding the food somewhere or I took it out,and basically making it seem like I just want more food. I wanted what I paid for and they didnt give me. He rudely started laughing at me and saying "I was standing right next to her when she made it." wich was probably a lie cause they were all over the place, in the ends he said "no im not gonna do anything with that."So i said "well,what are you all gonna do I paid for this whole meal and i want what i paid for!"and again he says "where is the chicken?"I said,how do you want me to give you what i didnt get from the beginning!?" I had the receipt in hand,and everything and then proceed to just start walking away and telling the cashier "Just give her two peices of chicken or something."was very upset at that point! They gave us 2 pieces of chicken and at that point a gave up. We are a family of 5 growing kids and 2 adults,my kids were still hungry and we didn't have enough food left to give them another peice of chicken! Never again will I come to this place there is nothing but kids "working" or hanging around these last two times and very unprofessional service. Mainly in the evenings!

Honestly couldn’t even be mad. Laughed more than anything. Asked for a 12 piece tender meal. Girl asks what sides. Give her the sides, she says the total, I asked to repeat because she mumbled it, to no reply. Get to the window, tells me to pull forward, forgot to take my payment before doing so. Didn’t give the total again when I stared at her, she took my card and closed the window. No receipt nothing, shut the window as soon as I got my card back and didn’t even get a chance to ask for one. I was annoyed as she was more focused at chatting with anyone else behind the counter.. Wait 15 minutes or so, finally get my “meal” and all she rang me up for was the damn sides haha. Poor guy who brought it out looked super confused. I should’ve known better, as this is the second time I’ve ever been to this location and both times terrible experience. I wanted to give it a chance, but everyone told me when I moved here, don’t go to golden chick. I was saddened by that. But, I’ll for sure be staying away now.

I ordered the fish. This was the coldest fish I have ever had. My husband had the 2 piece white and his was also cold and you could tell it had been setting for awhile. Drinks were good. Don't think we will be back anytime soon.
