Opinions de The Warren Tunbridge Wells
The Warren delivers a fantastic three-course meal paired with delightful Sicilian orange wine. Each dish is expertly crafted, with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. The warm ambiance adds to the experience, making it an excellent choice for a special a lunch or night out. Highly recommend!
I have been visiting The Warren for years, they won my heart. The food is exceptional, service is friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is welcoming and simply enchanting. I have hosted many successful events at this stunning restaurant (at no hire charge) business meetings/socials, family lunches and more intimate meals with loved ones. The attention to detail makes each visit and course special. My dietary requirements have evolved over the years and I have always felt appreciated and catered for with love. If you have any questions just give them a call! You’ll be thrilled you did.
Visited on a Friday night by reservation. I felt so well looked after here. I suffer allergies, gluten, peanuts, and shellfish, and felt confident to eat here without compromising on taste. I ordered the lamb and chocolate brownie and it was a delight on every mouthful, so many different flavours abd textures that all complimented each other. The staff were all very professional, and the atmosphere was calm and not too noisy, so I could easily have a conversation with my husband without having to talk louder. The chef also came out at the end, which was a delight to talk to him. Would definitely recommend.
Really enjoyed my time here. The staff were super friendly and the food was tasty and fresh. I’ll definitely come back!
First time visiting Tunbridge Wells and I couldn't ask for a better restaurant to stay and dine in! Lovely space with very friendly people and the best part.. food! Beautifully prepared dish and reasonable prices too. On Sunday there's a special deal with 2 or 3 course for lunch hours. I'll definitely recommend.
Decided to try somewhere new to satiate my Sunday Roast cravings and really happy that we decided to give The Warren a chance. It’s on the high street of Tunbridge Wells and you go up some stairs and you reach the restaurant level. It’s got a balcony and really lovely views of the high street. Service was fantastic and the lady was amazing (I unfortunately don’t have her name). Absolutely loved the decor and the food was extremely tasty and of a high standard. Overall, really enjoyed it and I highly recommend!
Booked for a two year anniversary meal with my partner, the bookings were limited for dinner, so I had to book for 4pm, which was changed to 3pm by the restaurant. So book well in advance to get the time you want. The restaurant entrance is tucked away, so make sure you aren't walking past it on the way. Ordered two courses as we were having roasts and didn't think we could finish three. Very reasonable price at around £27 each for a lot of food. Service was lovely, the gentleman came over and went through the menu with us and completely sold me on the fish and Eton mess. The lady who served us was very pleasant and even brought us some free aperitifs which was nice of her. The sea bream was perfect, and was well balanced with the rest of the meal so highly recommend that. And the Eton mess was very rich and creamy with Chantilly cream, and homemade meringue. My stepfather was incredibly fussy and didn't want to cause any problems didn't finish his meal and the lady took that off the bill which was above and beyond. She honestly didn't have to do that for him.
We had a wonderful lunch here to celebrate my husband's Birthday. The food was absolutely excellent, it's a beautiful venue and the staff were really great. They even added a special Birthday touch to the meal. Would definitely recommend!
beautiful view over the town, with some excellent prices for some even better food. added bonuses of warm bread and olive oil for an appetiser plus brilliant service from Julian
As ever, delicious hearty food, and a fantastic selection of wines to go with it. The menu was slightly different to what I had seen online, but understandable with current restrictions that it might differ. We had a delicious amuse-bouche, that was some kind of Pumpkin/Garlic shot. Sadly I missed the actual name of this. Highly recommend.
Lovely place and decor in the centre of TW. Tentative staff, we had a nice chat. Great food, our starters were fab as well as the Sunday roast. One of our party had a birthday and we were made feel special. You must try the deep fried miso Mars bar!
Fabulous meal. Had a lovely table by the fire. The food was delicious and the service was great! 100% recommend.
Wow, amazing lovely food, very friendly staff, chef was fab as I am dairy intolerant so did alternatives where needed, very quirky restaurant but dog friendly
Incredible meal that is all sourced from the estate. Venison was out of this world and steak delicious. Both very reasonably priced for the quality received. Will be back!
We had a lovely weekday set lunch. Asparagus and cockles was a generous, fresh, delicious and different starter. Mains were similarly generous and tasty - the mussels were best we’ve had this side of the channel. Topped off with excellent friendly & enthusiastic service. Recommended.
Lovely restaurant setting and very reasonably priced for top quality food , presentation, service etc. Couldn't ask for better. Starter shown below (lamb tortellini). Ate my main course and desert before taking photos!! Roast chicken as fresh as could be (home reared) with delicious roast potatoes and veg. Pudding was a dream! Will definitely be going back.
Beautiful food, we visited for Sunday lunch and was gorgeous. Cosy atmosphere and great service.
Lovely place with very welcoming staff. Food was delicious too! Highly recommend and would visit again.
Lovely fine dining restaurant with very nice dishes made from locally sourced ingredients...
Food excellent. Service very good. Ambience good. If you haven't been here before you missing out.
Fantastic food and service I was looking for somewhere to eat on Saturday night, whilst visiting Tunbridge Wells on a last minute break. Being both dairy and gluten free, this isn't the easiest task. I noticed the warm, welcoming lights through the windows from the road and looked at the menu. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to eat anything, but the menu looked interesting and suggested they took great care over their offerings. I asked if by any chance they had any cancellations/a table for one, and if yes, was there anything I could eat that was gluten and dairy free. As luck had it, they had 1 table free and could offer a surprising number of options. They were so helpful and accommodating. With the waiter's help I ordered an amazing feta based salad for starters, which they switched to vegan feta - it was absolutely delicious. They also provided GF bread and a vegan spread (as I didn't want the oil and balsamic). They even produced an amuse bouche, which was a deviation to the goats cheese based one I heard other diners receiving (and which I obviously wouldn't be able to eat). The main of pan seared seabass, butternut squash and chickpea casserole was incredible. Whilst enjoying the starter, the chef came out to check how everything was. He was so welcoming and helpful. All the staff are. They are all so professional, friendly and accommodating. Considering I turned up without any warning, on the off-chance that they might have a space and something on their menu I could eat, on the busiest night of the week - they and their food are truly amazing. I hadn't planned on revisiting Tunbridge Wells soon, but I may have to - to enjoy this amazing restaurant again. Oh and the icing on the cake, they've got a pianist playing Satie's Gymnopedie no. 1 and various other well known classics. What a place.
Lovely place, beautifully decorated. So original and fun. The staff are super friendly and professionnel and the food is delicious. I highly recommend.
A hot summer night in Tunbridge Wells. Sitting upstairs in The Warren listening through the open windows to a great live band in The Bedford. Me and hubbie have had one of the most memorable meals in years. I had the aubergine vegetarian dish which was prepared which such delicacy it was a taste sensation and one I could only dream of creating. Congratulations to the chef. We drank orange wine and had rum baba and chocolate dessert which were perfect. The gentle, friendly service made for a perfect evening. Thank you
Lovely nice interior! Good food, we all had Sunday roasts for lunch! The best thing is it’s a dog friendly restaurant! We had dog treats and water for dog!
We enjoyed a work incentive lunch and it was amazing. The setting was lovely. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely unbelievable. The bill wasn't eye watering either. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you
This place is simply outstanding, the food, the atmosphere, and the staff were all incredible. I had always wanted to go to the warren and did an event their having never been and it was flawless- the team were so accommodating to all my requests and needs and all my guests were blown away by the venue and the attentive service. 10/10. A must if you are in Tunbridge wells! <3
It was the first time that I had been to The Warren and we throughly enjoyed the meal and the restaurant. The food was wonderful (I had the Prawn cocktail followed by the steak) and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Loved the vibe and the decor which I thought was really cool. Will definitely be going back again
A lovely intimate place to dine. Our host(ess) was very attentive and responded to our needs efficiently. Very lovely dinner and our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
Lovely restaurant in a nice setting. Good options for veggie/vegans and reasonably priced. One main meal (veggie tagine) was a bit more bland than the other, but mine was faultless - really delicious.
I've been to The Warren many times and will continue to do so. The food is always amazing and the staff always make you feel like your very treasured. Some days a macaroon upon departure, today some home made chocolates. Often you eat to the sound of pianist playing some classics which is a lovely touch. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Thank you Magda for looking after as always and thank you to your team.
My favourite restaurant in Tunbridge Wells. Always feels really special yet doesn't break the bank. Lovely setting. Excellent wine list. Friendly service. Great menus which change fairly regularly. Can't recommend it enough.
Had a great meal here for a celebration. We had trouble finding places that would take a large group (12 people) but the warren said the more the merrier. Good food and service was great. Staff helpful in getting mobility limited relatives upstairs using the chair lift. Everyone really enjoyed the experience.
Really grateful to have been gifted a voucher for The Warren. A warm and welcoming atmosphere with beautiful decor. A Sunday isn’t complete without a roast in-front of the fire and it did not disappoint. Great portions and full of flavour. The service was amazing and we cannot wait to visit again soon. Thank you ❤️✨
Really great quality food, was very quiet at 2-4pm on a Saturday afternoon, which was surprising. The waiters were very stern and unfriendly... But the food is delicious and the setting is great.
Food was good. Service was very good. Seats were uncomfortable. Seating position not the best. Did ask for conservatory seat but was told fully booked. Empty tables there when we left. Probably our fault for not asking when we originally booked. Will know next time. All in all. Good food and service. If you want atmosphere, don’t go too early.
I've been here three times. The first time in 2016, then mid-2023, and now mid-2024. My second visit was a huge improvement and the food delicious, especially the pork cheek starter. Excellent service as well. Cheapest bottle of wine is about £26, going up to something like £300. Meal for two was about £125 including tip, which included starter, main and a bottle of wine. Most recent visit seemed like it had gone downhill slightly. Service seemed a bit lacking - they were friendly but it felt a bit forced.
Greeted by a quirky interior and some eccentric, friendly staff, this won’t be to everyone’s tastes or right for a formal or smart/minimal atmosphere but also depends where you’re sitting. The food was excellent from starters to mains, I nearly ordered another steak because it was so tasty and I could have enjoyed a larger portion. That said by the time I’d had desert and more to drink what did I care! They get some of their restaurant produce from their own estate including the beef which obviously makes a difference. As you can see in the picture, the food is beautifully and tastefully presented, a slight juxtaposition to the ambience but in the end you go to a restaurant to eat and for me, although pricey, certainly a £60+ a head job at least the quality married up, thanks guys !
Food and ambience amazing. Service a bit slow but in such wonderful surroundings it was not a huge issue for me.
So I made sure they knew it was a special birthday and they obviously forgot. The menu was surprisingly limited but the main courses were nice. The puddings weren’t sadly. The young waitresses were very attentive but the front of house woman/manager was cold and stern and not good at her job. Disappointing overall and with so many better places to go to round here we won’t be back.
Nice boutique restaurant, enjoyed the food and atmosphere overall. Food was quite good, with nice live piano music. However, it was disappointing that pricing wasn’t clearly communicated. When ordering a beef sirloin grill for two, the waiter suggested a tomahawk cut not listed on the menu, which we accepted. Surprisingly, it turned out to be nearly three times the price of our original choice. Which felt excessive to put it mildly. Cheesecake was solid.
The lamb was fantastic! The sirloin was not good at all The burger was very nice especially the fries! It’s really yummy The problem was the incorrect Bill we served. We ordered 4 set lunch but ended up on bill was a separate order of each dish (£50) more. It made us feel this restaurant is kinda cunning. The waiter was a bit itchy. I did feel his hand was dirty as he scratch his face many times and serve the food, which made us uncomfortable We booked the table for a birthday with a note at reservation. And the restaurant didn’t do anything to celebrate with it. Which is really disappointing
We attended for a Sunday lunch. The food was of average quality, not much choice and a bit pricey. Nothing special to note. We had to wait for some time to receive our meals. What was interesting that other people who visited later than us got served first.
Have been waiting to visit The Warren for a while after lots of positive recommendations online and from friends. Popped in unplanned for Sunday dinner. First impressions dated and needs a refurb the venue has stunning windows, but feel like it’s been a bit neglected for a while. Decor aside which could have been overlooked but atmosphere non-existent and for what I thought was a top restaurant was disappointing. Service average and at times slow, again not the standard you would expect for the menu prices. The saving grace for this place is the food. The roast was pretty good with one of the best cauliflower cheese I’ve eaten and comes as standard with all roasts which is rare. The desserts were decent, no complaints. With a bit of creativity to freshen the venue up I think this place could be 4/5 star,
Had lunch with family today. The food as usual was good all round for the six of us. The waiters did their job. But overall there was little to no service. For me, service is - not having to ask for service. Not one member of staff was looking out for the guests and anticpating the guests simple basic needs and wants. From first drink to the bill we had to request service. Overall an enjoyable lunch spoilt by the £60 service charge.
Came to The Warren for the first time after many years of hearing many good things, but unfortunately it was disappointing. The starters were fantastic, having got the venison sharing platter and seafood sharing platter. Unfortunately, the mains were not good. Two of us had burgers which were served blue, which neither of us would have chosen and didn't particularly enjoy. The desserts were also nice. On top of the disappointing food, the service was incredibly slow (as a party of 4, we were there for three hours), although the wait staff were all friendly. There was not a drinks menu, so when we asked about drinks we were not told they served cocktails which at least two in the party would have had, and also didn't know how much the drinks cost until the bill arrived. At the end of the meal we had to ask the bill to be amended twice, as the first time it was miscalculated and the second time it included 2x service charge, and we waited for 45 minutes to pay the bill after finishing desserts and had to go up the staff to pay. Whilst some of the issues can be explained by it being a busy Saturday night (although we sat down at 6:30), sadly I won't be returning.
Visited with my mate the guy waiter was so slow and homophobia so rude no customer service food was average and cold also in men toilets light was flicking and dirty
I had booked specifically the conservatory in October for 14 guests which reduced to 11 and was reassured that was where we would have our Christmas lunch as it looks so pretty and it was the main reason for booking The Warren. When we arrived we were squeezed into a rather drab room at the back. I was obviously disappointed and expressed this to be told there was nothing they could do about it! The food was underwhelming, the additional service charges were unexpected and the atmosphere was non existent. The staff were not the best and there was one young man who decided to get involved with my complaint about the whole experience and tell me that he was going to remove me!! I was offered vouchers for another meal which I refused I will never go back and neither will my group of friends. Maybe The staff of The Warren do not care but hopefully the owners of The Warren do! Disappointing.
Have had decent meals here in the past, we haven’t been for a few years so we decided to revisit for dinner here the other Thursday night. The place was v quiet. We were handed tatty sheets of paper with a very slim menu choice. Instantly felt like we’d made the wrong choice. Service was substandard. The guy looked like he wanted to be elsewhere and had to repeat ask for bread at the start , had to chase for our sides and never received water despite then trying to charge at the end. Food was extremely average bordering on poor. The lamb was all gristle and extremely rare. Seafood to share was tough and overcooked. Our bill was £175 for two people. V v expensive for the sub par meal we had. It’s a shame to say it was nothing like the warren we visited a few years ago. I had to google to see if it had changed hands… we won’t be returning.
We visited The Warren yesterday for a birthday lunch for seven, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The amuse-bouche listed on the menu wasn’t served, and our starters arrived before any drinks — which felt rushed. The starters themselves weren’t particularly enjoyable and the ambiance was noisy to the point where you couldn’t hear each other speak. The worst part was a mix-up with a birthday cake we brought with us. Despite speaking to staff on arrival, the cake was mistakenly served to another table, with staff singing “Happy Birthday” to them. When my mum’s actual cake was finally brought out, there was little acknowledgment or celebration. It was very awkward. We had high hopes for the meal, but the service and attention to detail really missed the mark.
Really odd place - from the tacky green lighting going up the stairs, to the strange vibe inside. The photos online look beautiful but it was freezing cold in the restaurant (on a Friday night), and the decor made it feel like we were in a themed medieval experience, rather than somewhere that actually looks nice and good quality. We were originally given just a wine by the bottle menu, and when we asked for cocktails and wine by the glass, the cocktail menu was extremely odd. They were inexplicably 80s themed and both of the ones we had tasted appalling, like they were made by someone who had never had a cocktail. There were also so many flowers in the drinks it looked really weird. The food was ok but service was really slow, and we were so cold we just wanted the food a bit quicker. Overall wouldn’t return, the food was worse than your average pub and the overall feel of the place was really off.
