What an experience! Our large group of 9 (and two dogs) came here for dinner while on vacation and has a wonderful time. We were sitting in a gazebo which felt airy and private. The food was outstanding. Some of our favorites included the moqueca curry, a fish special, the clam chowder, and the picanha steak. Everything came to the table hot, well seasoned and cooked to perfection.

I was in Tupper Lake this past weekend for the first time with a group of friends and we happened to stumble upon this hidden gem unexpectedly. Food is amazing! I ordered the Wagu burger (first time for me eating this infamous raw burger) which was cooked perfectly. You can tell that the chef, Corey, is super passionate about cooking when he talks about each dish and its origin. Highly recommend this place and look forward to trying the NY steak the next time I'm in town!

Epic meal - 11 of us visited here for a dinner celebration and the food was absolutely wonderful! Delicious food, good atmosphere, lovely staff - the owners really went the extra mile! This is EXACTLY what Tupper Lake needs and I wish this business absolutely every success! They deserve it.

A gem in a food desert. Having been to the Adirondacks many times throughout my life, the expectation is roadhouse steaks for dinner. The meals at Amado are refined, delicate, and yet satisfying for a hungry belly. Expect to pay, but to eat this quality of food in the middle of nowhere is a treat that should not be passed by. Staff is friendly and the service was just as delightful as the meal.

I had a personal pizza. The dough was amazing as well as the taste. I had the pesto n cheese.. Delicious

We visited Amado during the Adk Gin and Jazz Festival. The music was world class- something you'd pay three times as much to see in a bigger venue. The airline chicken with pistachio risotto was delicious! We'll be back again.

Authentic Brazilian cuisine. We felt very warm by the amazing welcoming nature of the restaurant staff. Chef also came to see how we were liking the food and shared what went behind to make it so authentic. I highly recommend anyone visiting lake placid or tupper lake

Dinner was delicious. Such a nice setup for outdoor dining. Some places just put a few tables outside and there you go. But here they did a great job creating an outdoor "dining room" all the heaters kept us pretty warm and created ambiance. Our waitress was very friendly and the chef/owner even came by to chat. We enjoyed our visit very much.

Savory. Warm service with enthusiastic, thorough explanations of the varied menu of regional and Brazilian fare. Excellent beer option, including a sampling "flight". Outdoor seating with complimentary photos by the Bigfoot Sculpture. A true gem.

Both food and service were wonderful as always! Great new outdoor seating with heaters, and 3 large private dining "pods/sheds" with climate control and music. Chef and owner popped in to ask how everything was, which was nice. One of our favorite restaurants in the tri lakes area!

Excellent dining experience. On the pricey side but well worth the investment. Really cool dining seating options - indoor and out. Music is subtle and unique. Menu is outstanding. Great wine and liquor options.

A beautiful oasis in the middle of town. The desserts are amazing. The cocktails delicious. The service was friendly and joyful. We only got drinks, apps and dessert on this visit. We will certainly return to enjoy a full meal.

the alligator bites were fantastic (very unique, with a texture somewhere between fish and chicken). Also had the pot pies and mahimahi moquican which were all excellent. service was great; we felt very welcomed and looked after (esp after suffering some rather rude treatment at the nearby Well Dressed Food)

We love eating at Amado. They have a pretty extensive menu with items you won't typically find in small-town Adirondack restaurants. The owners have a Brazilian background and this shows through in the cooking and menu selection. The food is definitely prepared and presented very well not just flopped on a plate. However the service is still quick. Really nice atmosphere for a smaller establishment.

Miles ahead of any restaurant I've been to in New York. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, excellent selection. The time and effort put into the favor of the dishes can be tasted in every bite. Will absolutely visit again for another fantastic meal. Highly recommend the quail legs for a starter.

By far the best overall restaurant experience I've had thus far in the Adirondacks. The food was amazing (I had chilli wings as an appetizer and home made andoulli sausage and garlic mash as an entree while my partner had a black bean burger). I love the fact that almost all their items are home made and the choice of craft soda was also a plus. The wait staff was friendly and the food was on time. The atmosphere is rustic but not tacky. Their dressings are all proudly made in NY (olive oil, balsamic, etc). But it gets 5 stars instead of 4 because for all that I mentioned above, the price point was shockingly cheap. We spent less than $50....a meal of that caliber would have cost at least $100 in NYC. Definitely a culinary treasure of the Adirondacks. This was my first experience and I'll definitely be coming back again. EDiT (2022): To the owner: we're leaving the Adirondacks for good in a week and was trying to visit this restaurant as our last stop because we had such a great time pre-pandemic but when we showed up at 5:30 on Wednesday (today), the door was locked so I'm assuming they were closed. You should update your hours - we drove from Potsdam to Tupper just for that.

I had an amazing dinner here. I don't remember what Holiday it was, probably mother's day, they had some kind of special mother's menu. They served 4 or 5 courses and it was amazing. Every course was great and I couldn't wait for the rest. It was recipes you won't typically find in other restaurants around town. "High class" if you're looking for me to drop that word. It does feel very high class, but at the end of the meal, you're feeling just as good as anywhere else... But man is it good.

The dry-aged hamburger is the best I've had. Anywhere. The aged NY strip--perfect. The chef and his wife are delightful, welcoming. I was pleasantly shocked to discover a restaurant of this caliber in little Tupper Lake. Extremely highly recommended. Looking forward to returning next summer.

It had just stopped raining when we entered the court yard entrance to the restaurant. We were immediately seated. The host/manager opened all the rainflies . There seemed to be no bugs - only the nice wide open views. Food was delicious!

Had a wonderful dinner last night with 6 other family members. The food was excellent and done perfectly. We ate in one of the greenhouses. We tried many different appetizers like alligator bites, frogs leg, oysters, crab cakes, soup and wings. All were delicious and cooked to perfection. For the main meals again we had some varied and unusual items like antelope, deer etc., I had the sea food fettuccine. It was excellent. I was surprised to find this 5 star restaurant in this small but great little town. I hope to visit it again soon.

Top notch menu. Highlights included the best cream of mushroom soup I've ever had, sweet fried yuca sticks, and crispy truffle parm tots. The special cocktail was a blueberry bourbon sour that knocked socks off.

I'm in love with this place! It's my new favorite restaurant. The owners seem like kind passionate people. It shows in their food. Their wine in dinners are the best. If you never been, please go to one of these. I have tasted food, that I would never order by myself. And, I love it. The wine is just the perfect companion to the delicious creations. I can't say enough good things.

You can taste love in dishes, and this restaurant serves dishes made by people who love the food. The beef in the dish I had delivered tasting notes in sequence, a feat only delivered by skilled and capable chefs. Front of house was kind, thoughtful, funny and generous - everything one could want. A seriously lovely experience, one that I recommend to everyone. There are things in life that are worth the money - this is one of those experiences that is worth more than whatever one pays regardless of the amount

Celebrated Mom's bday here on a whim. How lucky did we get. Love the vibes and the food was remarkable and memorable. There was a lot of standard fare but the Brazilian food I had to ask what it was, was the star. So happy I took a chance and didn't order the same ol same ol.

This place serves you premium food with no compromise on the quality and taste. Try their in house Chowder, it’s good. A proper restaurant and definitely one of the finest in Upstate NY. The owner(sorry forgot her name) she is very warm, welcoming and generous to her guests. She replaced a cocktail that I was doing and I absolutely had no complaints about it for a minor miss in the mixture. That itself proves they are not there to sell their menu but they are there for greater customer experience which you hardly find around these days. This is my usual stop when I’m heading out to ADK mountains during my weekends for backpacking trips and camping. Although, I wish I have taken some pictures of the food. Next time!!

This is the best restaurant in town it competes with little Italy. I haven’t been there in a couple years. It’s family friendly they do have fancy brews to my recollection. I had their club sandwich & sweet onion soup it was the freshest tasting dish I had in Tupper for that meal. The prices are fair I don’t remember it being as expensive as little Italy. Feeding 4 people was almost $100 like 80 dollar area. I think I did have a burger there once the beef was fresh the vegetables made it taste like a garden salad. The restaurant is creative with the dish names they can be confusing initially.

We stopped at Amado's on the way home from Lake placid. The prices were a bit higher than expected but after tasting the calamari I realized that this was a class act place. We had clam chowder and burgers. Everything was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. We also had espresso and cafe moca. I definitely want to come back and try more on the menu!

A couple of friends and I stopped at Amado for a bite to eat before going to Wild Lights and the moment we walked inside we knew we picked the right place. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, staff was very friendly and easy to talk to, the artwork and decorations were unique, and the food was wonderful! We each tried the three soups (onion, mushroom, and clam chowder I think) and we all raved about how tasty it was. I had the chicken sandwich with basil pesto and we split the truffle and parm tots- all of which were delicious! Lil helped us out and she was great. I was very impressed with how yummy the food was and would recommend stopping by to try this place out. I want to bring my husband up next time!

Such a cool spot. Great layout. We came for lunch but it looks like it gets hopping on night. Delicious homemade black beans burger. I always like to give props to places that make their own veggie burgers. They are always so much better than store-bought and this one is particularly good.

First time anywhere close to Adirondacks, as I'm in the beginning stages of my nationwide roadtrip, and I stumbled across this place, Amado. Had a great looking atmosphere, the outdoor experience was neat! I saw in the building, but it still felt as if I were outdoors and that was wonderful. I ordered the Wild Boar Sausage Pizza and it was pretty tasty! Highly recommend this place to any newcomer to Tupper Lake! For a fusion style restaurant, their prices are fair! 📍If you want to follow my journey, my Instagram is @IntoCalebsWorld 👋🏼

We decided to take a drive from VT over to the Adirondacks and while we waited for the Ferry in Charlotte, we Googled where to eat lunch in the Saranac/Tupper Lake area. What a GEM we found in Amado! We took the time to read their story on the website and perused the menu, eager for a good meal. When we finally arrived, a bit later than expected, we were delighted to be greeted by Lilian, only to realize that we had the whole place to ourselves! BONUS! Now we had the pleasure of enjoying amazing food and a chance to chit-chat with her. The Truffle & Parm tots are a must! I enjoyed the Onion & Ale soup while Paul had the Black Bean Burger. And of course, we had to try one, well, let's be honest...TWO of Lilian's amazing cocktails, the O'Santo. What a charming place, we will definitely be back in the summertime when we can spend more time in this beautiful part of the Adirondacks.

After two failed attempts to find a place to eat we ended up at Amado. We were not disappointed. We had small children, someone vegan, and big appetites. No one was less than satisfied. We had burgers and fries and chicken fingers, calamari, Yuka, mussels, chocolate cake… My husband proclaims he’d make the 2.5 hour trip again just to eat there. If you are looking for vegan options there are a few.

Outside eating at it’s finest! An indoor area to dine if that is your preference or outdoor enclosed spaces for a more private dining experience. The food was fantastic and since we were the only customers we received excellent attention. I would highly recommend the Truffle burger. Very tasty.

The service was great and the outdoor dining area was lovely. We got the grilled chicken sandwich and the airline chicken with pistachio risotto and the yucca chips as an appetizer. Everything was delicious! If you're in Tupper Lake and looking for a small family owned restaurant that knows how to cook, visit this place!

Samantha Casey

Fantastic! We had the fried yucca, which was delicious. I had the linguine and was very pleased with the freshness of the seafood. My partner in dining adventures had the pistachio coconut milk risotto topped with toasted almond and crispy kale, of which I stole a bite and was excessively delighted. The Pinot noir was perfect (not a lot of wine selections but I didn't mind because they had one of each type) and my friend had their specialty house coffee which was "brewed to perfection". If I had another stomach, I would have also gotten the moqeuca because the table next to us got it and it looked divine. Outside seating is super cute, there's already a bunch of photos but I'll add some more to help you guys get the idea. Also, the balsamic vinegar on the table was awesome, gonna try to get some for my kitchen. The entrees are a bit expensive, but well worth the price. Overall, fully recommend.

Amado's has such a great atmosphere! We stopped in Friday night, I had the Airplane Chicken (which must be named for the fact that it made my taste buds soar!) Served with Green Apple beurre blanc sauce and pistachio risotto, it was amazing! My husband enjoyed the truffle burger. Highly recommend this gem!

Basanthi Pasupuleti

Food is pretty good the fish and vegan entree are nice along with the dark chocolate pastry, but the prices are very very high for the amount of the food served , getting such small quantity of food for high rates is not worth it.

M
Michael Martin

Nice atmosphere. They’ve done wonders with “outdoor” spaces that are enclosed, warm and cozy. The food was good, nice menu selection, and the service was good. The Moscow mule wasn’t very special, not gingery enough. I’d recommend going with an on tap brew.

We dineThursday evening ang 15. Fish fry! Fish cooked well, fries could be cooked longer and crispy, Coleslaw was ridiculously small came in a salad dressing/condiment container. Would have liked more as it was tasty. The vegan Moqueca was interesting but lacking salt, a sprinkle of coriander, lime slice to squeeze on dish would lead to a refreshing zing of a citrusy note. Atmosphere is beautiful, calming and relaxing. Will be returning today with family and friends, I’m hoping you consider my suggestions.

Had a burger... Cooked to perfection on a brioche roll. Oh my, doesn't get much better. Not really happy that all sides are extra! How much would it cost to throw a few chips on the plate,??? You have to eat outside in a tent. What's with that? If it wasn't for the staff and chef, this would have been two stars. They need to step up their game, if they expect to see me back there.

J

Great interior design and song choice. Slightly pricy and a little long wait but mostly worth it. Lots of creative dishes. I loved the truffle burger. One of the strongest truffle flavor I had in years.

Very nice experience. We had a large party of 14 people and that can be a lot. The food was great. Some of the dishes could have come with a side, like the burgers and salmon, considering the cost. But we will definitely eat here again.

A
Ann Bevins

I really liked the outdoor seating areas, they have a variety of options. Our experience with the wait staff was good, but we found the food to be uneven - I would have preferred to give it 3.5 stars if possible. We love calamari, but this was forgettable at best. My husband had a mussel and shrimp pasta dish and he really enjoyed it. Generous seafood and just the right amount of pasta. I had the Brazilian steak option and while the steak had good flavor it was a little tough. The potatoes and asparagus were excellent though. Chocolate cake was good, but if you order the key lime pie, be forwarned it's quite sharp.

B
BL

Overall the food was pretty good, the server worked her butt off and did an excellent job. Prices are steep for what you get or don't get depending on your perspective. Nothing at all geared toward kids, or a kids menu. Good place to eat though, not great and a bit pricey, skip bringing the kids.

R

Absolutely love the outdoor bar/dining space. I was very happy to see a place with this atmosphere in Tupper Lake. They have a good beer selection. And we had a great conversation with the female owner. Ordered takeout and everything was prepared as requested. Many different selections you won't find anywhere else in the area.

We had a great meal here! The dishes were innovative, beautifully plated, and appropriately portioned! Really enjoyed the calamari fries appetizer.

Visited Amado for to go order. I had taken Amado Margarita pizza and Amado house. The food was excellent. Atmosphere was good. But it seems that there was only few servers hence guests had to wait standing in open sun (which was very bright and hot) which was very uncomfortable experience. The owner need to look into it. All the very best for the outlet.

My pizza was all crust. Hardly any center. When I asked for sauce, they charged $4.50. I needed something as it was so dry. My boyfriend acted for a side salad and charged an extra $5 without telling him.

My husband and I took our adult sone and his fiancé for a dinner and Jazz at the Amado’s on 8/3/23. Haitian Jazz was fabulous. Most disappointing is the FOOD. Don’t try to act to serve a fancy food. Do the basics tasty and right!

Ben
Ben

Nice and big place with a cool atmosphere and a many dining options in and out. But the food is BAD. The patty smells and tastes like onions, it feels like they mixed a lot of onions with meet and made it to patties. Also the chicken was too dry. Not recommended at all.

Richard Orth

*Very* long wait for our food — two burgers. *Very* expensive for what you got — the burgers didn’t even come with a pickle or chips; only the burger. *Very* poor service — Our server never asked us how our meals were. She just took our order, delivered the food, and brought the bill. The atmosphere is nice, but that’s all we can say about a very disappointing experience. Bottom line — not worth the money or the time.

R
Randy Freiman

We were excited about trying Amado’s. While waiting to order, we witnessed the chef come out and berate two customers in front of all of us. Very awkward and unprofessional customer treatment. Our soup came out cold, not even room temperature. Our meals came out luke warm. Both my wife and I were sick intestinally later that night and all the next day. We will never patronize this establishment again.

B
Bill Reynolds

They're trying to be a fancy restaurant- but they're far from it, food was ok- but WAY over priced, service was only adequate, but waitress was terrible, seemed like we were bothering her when we asked for salt and pepper- that should have been on the table un the first place, also the older hostess was not friendly either, wouldn't hurt her to smile. Ambiance was not so good either. I would never go back, and do not recommend this place.

l
leesa valentino

The owner was very rude. He thought I was from out of town, instead of a local. I can’t support business that don’t respect their customers. I’d say go to little Italy instead. I had to come back and post a follow up. The response is completely false. I had the reservation for 2 days, not 10. When i made the reservation they were very clear I couldn't have a greenhouse because I didn't have enough people in my party. Trust me this man was RUDE. As the previou user posted, avoid this place at all cost. There are MUCH More friendly and accommodating places to eat in Tupper Lake. Try Little Italy, or the food truck MaketPlace. Great Food and excellent service. You'd think in tough times you would try to accommodate your customers not be rude.

Looking for traditional American diner breakfast food? You won't find it here. First the coffee, if you like Stewart's or Cumberland Farm's coffee then bring a cup with you because what they serve is unlike any coffee I have ever had anywhere EVER... One sip and done. Now the food. All I was able to eat from my order was the dozen or so cubes of "home fries” that came on my plate next to my wet & oily scrambled eggs (I asked for scrambled dry) and the two cold round slices of toast. The texture and taste of their home-made sausage patties was so unusual I wasn't able to get it down. The same goes for their home-made corned beef. The food in this place has a heavy cultural influence of a type I have not experienced in my 40+ years of dining out. We went here based on the good reviews. I can only speculate that those reviews come from locals or others of the same cultural background what ever it may be...

Dear chef. The door to your kitchen is plywood and 12feet away. I can hear every rude derogatory comment you are making to the only server here. She’s killing it. Triple sat, bartending, being kind even though you insist on yelling at her. If you are overwhelmed by the 7 people’s orders you have to make than maybe you should rethink your profession. She’s the front of the house. She represents your establishment and I can hear her communicating with you about every table that walks in the door. While you freak out. I have 30 years in all positions in restaurant and you need to learn to treat people with respect. Here’s the second part where the chef comes out after he’s read my review, and literally yells at me at the bar. About how I shouldn’t have, listened to his conversation through the door, which if I couldn’t hear him belittling the woman, then I wouldn’t have had a bad dining experience so props dude you’re a … prime example of a man who has to make others feel small to make himself feel better. Who yells at a customer while she’s sitting quietly at the bar?! Because you didn’t like the fact I gave you a three star review. And than you’re gonna make me pay to get screamed at.

M
Melissa Osgood

The menu is intriguing, but be prepared to be disappointed by instant mashed potatoes (on a $30 dish), massive up-charges (adding a mushroom was $7), and $5 iced tea (that's mostly ice - with no refills). They tote themselves as the "future of north country dining", but having ate at many establishments throughout the region, I can testify that is most certainly not the case. This diner will not be back. Save yourself $100 and go to McDonald's.

B
Brian Hall

Great atmosphere. Terrible food. We did not get our salads and bread with the meals (We were told salads came with our meals, other reviews had mentioned bread coming with the meals don't know if we were supposed to get them or not). Food was bland and overpriced with the exception of my son's chicken sandwich.

k
kory whittum

We waited 3 hours for a dinner for 6 guests. They completely forgot to put the order in. By the time the order was the placed, it was two hours past our reservation. Once the food arrived, the owners of the restaurant walked past our table multiple times and avoided eye contact at all cost knowingly they messed up. Meals were brought out between 20 minutes intervals, one meal at a time.... The terrible service was obvious, yet no compensation for the service or apology was provided. We’d be happy to come back if the mistakes were at least addressed. WE WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. Please don’t waste your time or money, you’ll thank me later. Just the absolute disrespect from management..... Don’t blame your staff, grow up and take responsibility for your business. This place won’t last long anyways with this kind of service. Read how the owner replies to reviews if you want to see how things are actually handled.

**Sir, you simply should read and consider the reviews about your chauvinistic mannerisms and delivery. You have a poor review of your restaurant due to YOUR service and food, as well as the lack there of customer service capabilities. Instead of berating the patrons of your restaurant, I genuinely hope you self-reflect and make better choices going forward with your attitude. Until then, I stand by sharing The Red Fox for anybody looking for a high quality meal worth the money! I traveled from Tampa, FL to visit Tupper Lake and read raving reviews about Amados. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted in the chef’s cooking capabilities and customer service. There was a mistake between the server and chef, which lead to a two hour delay in the food service. Additionally, the chef refused to acknowledge any fault nor would offer even a simple apology. After 3 hours and a $250 bill, we left displeased. Sadly I ordered a bacon cheeseburger in which they served the cheese cold and forgot the bacon. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. My extended family was born and raised in Tupper Lake and this was just a huge disappointment. GO TO THE RED FOX IF YOU WANT A GOOD MEAL!!!

Well, place looked good on a internet. No words in the website that Sunday night you should have a reservation for a family of three, specifically with more than a half tables empty. Not a place that you can just walk in and have a meal, they should update a website for sure. Wish we could have tried the food, review strictly for the service. Lady who worked that night is not friendly either, have not greeted us, we had to greet her instead, so walked out as not a happy customers.

$4.00 lemonade with no refills. Fish and chips were not edible (1oz of fish with 1 pound of overcooked and tasteless batter). Fries were cold and hard. Staff did not seem to be happy there. Horrible atmosphere. Waste of time and money. Will never go back. Don’t waste your time or money there.

The whole thing is outside and skeeved me out with the flies everywhere especially around food. We ordered the salmon and it was completely raw. When we brought it back the manager protested to take it off our check even though it was clearly completely raw. Also ordered the truffle burger and truffle parm totts they were extreme oily and made him feel extremely sick. Server didn’t come back to check on us at all during our meal.

Overpriced and disappointing. You would expect a $41 seafood linguine to have fresh seafood — it definitely did not. The mussels and shrimp were mealy and the pasta was undercooked. We sent it back and the waitress said she’d see what she could do. But she never reported back, and when the check came they charged us for it anyway. We asked the waitress if they could take it off the check and she said “they said no.” We left hungry and frustrated, especially by the service/response.

Shockingly terrible experience. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks and the waitress never smiled. Ordered three different soups for the 1st course and it took 30 minutes (and the order was incorrect). Our main course came out seconds after our first course and my chicken sandwich was cold. Literally the cheese was not even melted and the chicken inside was cold. When I mentioned this to the staff they were defensive. Do not recommend

Very rude! Waited for 10 min standing in the sun for someone to seat us. When a waitress finally appeared to sit us, we asked whether they are backed up in the kitchen as well so that we can understand how long it would take for our lunch. She simply said we can go somewhere else. Never seen anything like this before. There were only 2 other tables occupied. Not like she was overwhelmed, it seems. Just rude and unprofessional and unable to answer a simple question. Don’t go there!!!!

There is a sign that says “you need to be seated by staff”, we waited for 15 minutes, we should have left then. I had to go in and talk to staff, they gave a table, then we waited for 20 minutes more, but they never took our order. The restaurant is poorly understaffed. I’m never coming back and I dont recommend this place. It was a waste of my time.

Visited the restaurant after seeing the vegan options but was disappointed because the food was not good at all. The server was super rude!

Me and my family want and we ordered a cream of mushroom soup, 2 classic burgers, a arugula salad and a chicken sandwich it took over 30 minutes my soup was Cold my mom’s salad had nothing on it and was bland and our server never came after our food came and when we told the other server our server through a fit when the other server said something to our server and we will not go back there I hope the owner sees this

Horrible dinner experience all around. The waitress/owner was rude and the dish (Brazilian rice stew) was quite bad (limp frozen thawed vegetables in a runny, yellow bland sauce). My husband’s tuna dish was just ok. Even if it had been good, the prices were very high for the area. When we finally got her attention, she shrugged.

The restaurant is very elegant but the service and food are not. My friends and I went to celebrate my friend birthday They’re not even singing happy birthday for him and we ordered food and my friend ordered a salad and they brought him the wrong salad. He asked the waitress if she could change it, she said no and in the end they only gave him a two dollar discount. We ordered three margaritas and they didn't have any alcohol. I really don't recommend this restaurant at all. The food arrived cold. And apart from that, the food is very expensive. We left there very disappointed.

Visiting the area and found this cute atmosphere on the map with my friends, and was excited to try it out. The old fashioned was a bit watery, and the waffle fries special came out cold. I then ordered the shrimp and mussel linguine. The shrimp was really dry without flavor, and the mussels were extremely dry. The linguine felt extremely undercooked too… I hate sending a plate back, but the dish was over $40 and it was just unbearable. I asked my friends to try as well, to help me determine if it should be sent back. I’ve never sent a plate back and it feels embarrassing to, because I do want to give every restaurant the best intention. But i couldn’t eat it. I was hungry and just couldn’t. I apologized to the waitress but explained the food was dry, it felt like it hadn’t been freshly cooked and I needed to send it back. She said she would see what she could do. She never came back with an update and then gave us the check. We asked about it still being on the bill and she said “yea they said they wouldn’t do anything about it” I just wished there was better communication as I left without eating, but to get that answer without any conversation felt rude and disappointing. I tried to be as polite as possible, but the plate was one of the worst I’ve ever had and then left without dinner but paying a full $43 for it. Even an apology would have been helpful, but without it I felt compelled to write this. It was really a disappointing experience.

Totally disappointed with my experience at Amado. I do not recommend this restaurant. I dined there with two other colleagues. Wait times to be seated, to have order taken, and to be served were very long. One of my colleagues was served the wrong salad. Although the wait staff was aware they were out Caesar salad, he was not informed, just was substituted with a house salad. Both colleagues ordered black ‘n blue burgers but there was so little blue cheese on them that they couldn’t even detect it. I ordered the fried oyster appetizer and onion soup. I didn’t expect a large amount of oysters, but these were the smallest oysters I think I have ever been served. The onion soup was not good, I do not recommend it. Finally, we each ordered a margarita. They were so weak we couldn’t even detect any alcohol. This was a total disappointment. I do not recommend wasting your money at Amado.

one of the worst Valentine’s dates we’ve ever experienced. We were really looking forward to a special night out, but the entire evening ended up being disappointing from start to finish. The restaurant advertised a four-course meal, which sounded promising, but the execution fell far short of expectations. The appetizer was literally just a few cut-up vegetables—three thin strips of peppers and two tomatoes sliced in half—with no creativity, seasoning, or presentation to make it feel like a proper first course. The second course was a very basic salad with standard, uninspired toppings, served on noticeably small plates. It felt more like something quickly thrown together at home than a dish you’d expect at a restaurant charging premium prices for a holiday dinner. The third course, which was supposed to be the highlight of the meal, included a filet mignon. Unfortunately, my partner’s steak arrived extremely rare even though we both clearly ordered medium. By that point, the experience had already been so underwhelming that it didn’t feel worth the trouble of sending it back. Considering the total bill came out to $200, the meal was absolutely not worth the price. We expected a memorable and enjoyable Valentine’s dinner, but instead left feeling let down and frustrated. As locals who like to support nearby restaurants, this was especially disappointing. Sadly, based on this experience, we won’t be returning. Please just head up to the woodshed you won't be disappointed.

It wasn’t busy at all, and our waitress messed up our order, bringing 1 cheese pizza and 2 orders of tenders for the kids instead of 2 pizzas. They then brought cheese pizza with basil pesto on it, and then told us it will be a long time for another cheese pizza. Then they still tried to charge us for 2 tender orders, and had attitude when asked to remove it.

Aside from the awful experience, the owner's responses to Google reviews are HORRIFIC. Blaming people for their poor experiences, accusing them of lying and posting false reviews- What kind of a business does this?! This place is serving horrible food and charging an astronomical amount- Total con artists. We should have known that with no other LOCALS eating there and the place so quiet, there was a reason! I really wish I had read the reviews before going here. My experience aligned quite similarly to other reviews- Food was clearly pre-made and cold. For the price I would have expected the potpie to be fresh and crisp but instead it was cool and rubbery. The beef was so tough you couldn't cut it. We ordered soup as an appetizer which arrived with the rest of our meal and it was the wrong soup- covered in about 6 tablespoons of some dried seasoning. We asked if that was correct and they promptly grabbed it and left, to return a moment later with the correct soup...which was still disappointing because the onion and ale soup was flavorless. The chicken sandwich was completely unseasoned and the edges were rock hard- Not juicy at all. For $14 I would have expected something better. Initially, we were served a bottle of WARM water and had to flag someone down to ask for ice. Staff is NOT attentive at all. Aside from bringing our food, we were not checked on once until our bill was brought.

In Tupper Like for a few days with 2 family members. Atmosphere was nice. Ordered Calamari for appetizer. Small portion. Marinara was not on the side, but pooled in the bottom of the bowl and soggy (no lemon wedge) 1 person ordered a burger medium well which arrived medium rare and dark pink inside. Standard frozen fries. 1 person ordered fish fry and liked it. I ordered salmon and tarragon with lyonnaise potatoes and asparagus. Salmon was good but sauce was bland. Potato’s cold and asparagus not edible. Asparagus was overcooked and stringy- couldn’t even cut it (see photo). Took 45 minutes to get food but only 2 other tables occupied in entire restaurant. Very disappointed. Definitely do NOT recommend
