Came in on my own for dinner while in town for a work trip. This is right in my old neighborhood but was not here when I lived here. I wish it had been! Best kung pao I've ever had. This is kung pao done right. I ate the whole plate in one sitting because I just couldn't stop myself. Service was fine. I didn't need it to be more than what it was. And prices are fair. The place is packed and popular. Even as a party of 1 on a Sunday night, I had to wait 30 minutes, so keep that in mind. But I will definitely come back next trip to try the mapo tofu.

I absolutely love the Sichuan food here. I normally order deep fried intestine, boiled fish rattan pepper, chili bamboo shoots, kung pao chicken, steamed chili oil chicken, and lamb skewer. Our server Situ is also very funny and kind. We tried their new dessert which is taro, mochi, and purple rice and it was very good. Not too sweet but perfectly sweetened.

We ordered BeanJelley, Lamb noodle soup, stir-fried sprouts, and wok-fried kidney. Size is small but just fine for four of us. Food is quite delicious but salty for me. Will come back trying other stuff.

Sichuan Impression offers a convenient combo option where you simply choose from the set menu, and the food comes out incredibly fast. I’m guessing it’s because they prepare a lot of it in bulk, especially the fish dishes. The fish itself was tasty and well-seasoned, definitely the highlight of the meal. It’s not a “wow” or over-the-top dining experience, but for a quick, flavorful bite that hits the spot, it’s worth a solid 4 stars.
