Always love to try a new Mexican restaurant!! As you can see in the picture this is how they bring salsa out. Not always having to ask for more and more. Just pour it yourself since they set the whole things on the table. Queso was very very good and I’ve never had it with bread brought out but that’s how they do it and it’s great. Salsa is definitely spicy. I love spicy salsa but this was up there in spice and flavor. We tried the chicken fajitas, a cheese enchilada, chicken tacos with a corn and a flour tortilla. We also got a steak taco with corn tortilla and queso fresca. We also got besitos. All the food was excellent. I had never had besitos before anywhere and was pleasantly surprised. Great flavor and crisp top. Enchilada was a cheese one with queso and it was thick cheese inside and very very good. Fajitas were amazing and that’s the main thing I get at any Mexican restaurant to try. All the tacos were great. Service was great as well. Very friendly waitress and other staff. When our cups were half full they were filling them up. Food brought out in a timely manner and had welcomes coming in and thanks going out by staff. Very friendly atmosphere and tons of decorations to look at all around while sitting there. There are 2 locations in Tyler as I know and this one is the one that doesn’t serve alcohol. The other one does. I don’t drink so I’m sure either is fine to go to. Definitely recommend trying this place if you are looking for Tex mex but a little different style than your usual brands of restaurants you see everywhere. Enjoy!!!

Very fresh and delicious authentic Mexican food! Great location. The family owns several other restaurants here in the area! Very friendly service. The Downtown location sells alcohol. This one does not.

Do not get the enchiladas. Very nice people but the enchiladas are tortillas with unmelted shredded cheese.

Love Don Juan's! Been there probably 20+ times. Fajitas are great! Tacos are really good! Staff are always friendly. Nice menu with lots of great options + breakfast!

Ordered the green chilaquiles and they were so good! Perfect hint of spice. 4 stars because it’s hit and miss depending on your plate.

First time here. Came here for dinner with my husband and kids. The food was great! However, I am only giving this 4 stars because of the service we received. Upon arriving at the restaurant no one addressed us for a good 3-5 minutes. Secondly, it was a long wait to receive our food. The food was delicious though! I ordered shrimp enchiladas and my husband ordered the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp cocktail was the best part! It was very hefty portion especially for the price.

I wanted to like this restaurant, but I just couldn’t. The service was good and the fact that the salsa comes in a container is nice. However, for a Mexican restaurant it was very bland. I left feeling very underwhelmed.

Would not recommend to eat here. The guy answering the phone was awesome, but I ordered red sauce cheese enchiladas with fried eggs. The eggs are fried well, but the enchilada is just a wet tortilla with unmelted cheese inside. There is absolutely no red sauce whatsoever. Maybe the tortilla is dipped in red sauce, but it looks and tastes like it’s just oil. Paying $15, plus asking for a tip on top of that, for the quality of the enchiladas and small bean portion is absurd, honestly.

Drinks verly made it to our table. Our waitress was horrible, she asked us if we where ready to order. We told her not yet, she walked about 5 steps came back and asked us again if we where ready. Feeling pressured we asked "do you have Posole " she replied "Do you not see its only on specific dates " ROLLED HER EYES AND HESITATED. Bad servicee do not recommend.
