Great place to go get lunch! I love torchy’s tacos, and the queso is the best!! They newly renovated the check out, so it is even faster so lines aren’t as long! Definitely try out the avocado tacos if you haven’t! So good!! about $5 or more per taco, but they are loaded up so not bad!!

Love the food! We went on National Queso Day to take advantage of the free queso. It was a little chaotic obviously that day. Had not been in since the new touch screen ordering system was put in place. It was a little confusing on how to redeem the free queso, but without even asking for assistance a sweet lady came over and helped us. Later on our waitress was even nice enough to even bring us a free bottled water, as I forgot to order it with all the ordering confusion. Love Torchy’s, great food and awesome customer service!

Our cashier, Troy, was so friendly and we were very impressed with how he made sure our order was accurate. We will be back!

The tacos are so good, it's a sin to not go here. Torchy's Tacos are fantastic, reasonably priced and well worth a regular visit. Do yourself a favor, grab a drink, grab a trailerpark taco and make it trashy, you won't regret it.

Stopped by Torchy’s Tacos in Tyler and had a great experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and lived up to the hype—definitely recommend The Republican and Baja Shrimp. Big shoutout to the short front-of-house girl who helped us—she was super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without us even having to ask. Made my usual stop in at Torchy’s this last weekend, and as always the food was great. The Trashy Trailer Park taco is my favorite. Tried the taco of the month, as suggested by my favorite cashier, Alexa. The Bottle Rocket Shrimp, it was tasty! I highly recommend it for those adventurous enough to go outside of their norm as I did. 10/10 will be back again.

They have two kios, and a person that's at a register. I had the shrimp tacos, chips and guacamole and the mexican candy margarita.Everything was delicious.Food came out hot and fast.

I love Torchy's and miss it dearly since I no longer live in Texas. I'm happy to report that my recent visit to this location did not disappoint my nostalgic craving! I had the Green Chile Pork and Fried Avocado tacos; both were superb in their own ways. There was a line when I arrived, but the service didn't take too long at all. Ordering was fast and easy, and the food was delicious!

I ordered the Independant and the Brushfire tacos. Bushfire was tasty and had quite a bit of heat, and the Independant was all about the black beans and veggies. Torchys has some great specialty tacos. I had the republican. Beef fajita meat with some great toppings. Taco Tuesday with one of the jeep clubs I belong too. Considering we swarmed the place which put a strain on service, they did great with getting food to us hot and as quick as they could. Food was great. Chips and salsa is better (maybe not better), no better. I came back a few weeks later just to get the chips and salsa. I usually grade a Mexican restaurant BY the salsa. Hence 5 stars. Now I'm thinking about stopping again for some more salsa and chips for take out. Yum. It is on the pricey side but worth it. Sitting in the bar area it was tough getting service, but the guy said if you can't get his attention throw something at him. I did, a balled up napkin, he happily got right too me!

I was at Tori‘s today in Tyler, Texas and Liz was the bartender and she was incredible. The service was over the top. The food was fresh and delicious. The bathrooms were so clean. It's a fun atmosphere with great, fast service! I got the Tipsy Chick, which is a taco that has marinated chicken, grilled corn, green chili's, cheddar cheese, maple bacon bourbon marmalade, and Chipotle sauce with your choicw of flour or corn tortilla. It also comes with spinach, but I had the spinach taken off. It was such a delicious, hearty taco!! It was a decent size and has so much depth of flavor! We had the delicious shrimp tacos, and green chili queso as well! Highly recommend! I can't wait to eat here again!!

Torchy's stuffs their tacos. You won't be disappointed with the amount of meat and veggies you get inside each taco. It is worth the price. Plenty of space inside and out along with a large bar. Very good service from a friendly staff.

Great for groups, serve breakfast tacos all day, every single taco is amazing and comes with incredible sauces, great margaritas, definitely get the queso and chisps (unlimited chips) for an appetizer!

We and others had to place our order ourselves on the computer and it took everyone longer than it should. No employee around helped anyone nor did they apologize for their system being down. (I heard one employee tell that to another.) One employee at the cash register answered the phone but didn't greet customers. Our queso came out AFTER our tacos.

The shrimp tacos I ordered were delicious. I gave 3 stars because the quantity of food was short on value. I paid 15.86 for 2 tacos and a small drink. Atmosphere a decor is great for a devil worshiper a Christian would cringe because the door handles resemble a devils fork. All in all it was a great experience if you want to spend 15 bucks on a lunch.

Fun place. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. I've never been disappointed with any taco I get here. They can even put it in a bowl if you don't want to eat the tortilla. They have drink specials and it's kept pretty clean. They pricing is decent and the food quality is consistent. The casual atmosphere is a great please to hang out and watch a game or sit and chat with a tequila sunrise with the girls. (Please give me a thumbs up if you found this review helpful.)

My husband and I ordered to go and called in our order. This was our first time trying their food. Were used to driving by and seeing a full parking lot which left us curious to try their food for ourselves. Overall we spent about $40 on our food. The exotic nature of the food (ie- salmon tacos) was good, however I believe the food items on this menu are too expensive for the food portions you actually get.

Been years since I've been back in Texas to eat at Torchy's and was excited to take my husband for the first time. Flavors were still delicious with some new additions since the last time I ordered from one and my husband loved it! Half order of queso was way smaller than I remember though haha. Staff was nice, but the dining areas needed to be cleaned. We walked past most of the booths to find a clean one.

The food itself is great here. It’s offensive though how all the food ordering is done on kiosks that ask you to tip at the end. You put in your own order. You get your own drinks. You get your own refills. What exactly are you tipping for, especially upfront when you’ve done all the work at that point?

I went to the Tyler, TX location for the first time on 11/26/25. I would like to leave some really good feedback for Charlene who took my order at the front register. When I told her it was my first time at Torchy's she welcomed me, took my order and then brought me a complimentary small bowl of your famous green chili queso and fresh chips before my food came out. She checked on me several times to make sure I liked the food and I so appreciate that from her. On the flip side, one of the ladies cleaning the tables on the booth side of the restaurant opposite of the bar was horribly rude and unfriendly to all patrons as she picked up their food and wiped down the tables. I'm sure you don't want someone with that kind of personality associated with Torchy''s and should have more like Charlene on your team! Feel free to reach out to me for more information , if needed. Obviously, I will continue to go to Torchy's because the food was fresh and fantastic with people like Charlene there but will sit in a loud bar area instead of the booth section if the same Hispanic lady is working as the cleaner.

Love going to Torchy’s after class for a quick taco. Tacos and burritos are always delicious, but I would advise avoiding the churros. The dessert menu leaves much to be desired. However, for lunch or dinner, this place has my favorite tacos in town. Staff are always great as well.

Nice place to hang out and receive great service. The tacos were not it. The tortillas were cold and uncooked. We had the steak fajita, chicken fajita and democrat and it was just way too salty.

Updated August 2025 They need to get rid of the automated ordering screens and bring back two order takers. The machines add extra steps. Put in feedback on telltorchys and no one called me back. Don't understand why they did this instead of putting the machines somewhere else and kept the order takers.

I ordered 2 tacos and a draft beer. The tacos were cold. No matter how good a taco may be it should never come out to the table cold. I've had torchy's tacos all over Texas and this is my least favorite location. Even the one in Oklahoma was way better. Sorry guys but cold tacos is not a good look.

It now takes significantly longer to place an order—I watched a couple struggle for 10 minutes while the line stretched out the door. First visit here. I dont like to leave negative reviews on a first visit to avoid flukes and the like. I wouldn't say 3 stars is bad. But for you first-timers, the menu is at the door and you can use an in-store kiosk to order. Also, a lot of their items are puns, which gives me anxiety. Chips and salsa were good, but for a giant bowl of salsa, the quantity of chips didnt seem proportional. Ordered one Democrat and one Republican (for impartiality). Asked for no Cilantro. Got cilantro. Oh well I can pick it off. The flavors were good but a little too competitive with each other. Tacos are good size and filled with ingredients though. Maybe I'll order something bit more simple next time. Not bad.

Well to be completely honest ..... it did not meet the expectations that I had for it due to all the good things I've heard. I ordered the chicken burrito and the chicken was ground up to the point that I thought they actually put it in a blender. I understand that all the ingredients in a burrito are "touching" but honestly seemed like they took every ingredient and put it in a blender and hit puree. Flavor was there but the texture for me was a NO. On a positive note....the quest was really good. Just my opinion folks, I won't be going back

ordered a green chile pork missionary style and the corn tortilla was cooked to the point of a tostada with the cheese not melted in the least. I get things happen but someone had to attempt to fold the tortilla and witness it break into 20 pieces and still sent it out. My son bought me 2 of the chicken tacos. I have never seen so much grease on the tacos. It was horrible. I don’t live in Tyler so it was always a treat to come thru and grab a couple tacos. Not sure what has happened to the place to have food served like that. I will think twice about going back. Smh.

I've been eating at Torchy's since we lived in Austin and it was just a trailer on S. 1st. Was thrilled to see one come to Tyler but hate to admit that, over time, the quality of food at this location has really suffered. Disappointing, certainly.

We are from out of town and came in and ordered takeout on the kiosk. Sat down and waited almost 30 minutes for our food. We ordered 5 things. Other people who came in after us got their food and we were still waiting. We finally went to check on our food and the lady came out immediately as if it was sitting there. The food is good but the service was not.

Can’t say we’ll be returning. Very I underwhelming and overpriced. We were so excited to come as first timers and we were extremely let down. Both me and my fiancés tacos were warm at best and the cheese wasn’t even melted on any of the 4 tacos we ordered. Not sure if that’s just how they come but it made everything taste even colder and since they weren’t hot to big on with it made matters worse. We didn’t receive the proper modifications we had asked for one of the tacos either. One of my tacos came with sliced avocado and it was half brown and rotten. Really wish we had had a different experience. Sad to say we were very disappointed.

We've been to the Fort Worth location and it was great. The Tyler location serves raw tortillas 🤢 this is supposed to be a flour tortilla but was served completely uncooked. A tortilla needs to be heated on a comal or flat top. Both flour tortillas were served this way on our visit. We also tried a corn tortilla taco and it was the same; uncooked.

This is my second attempt at wanting to love this place as much as friends and others do. But maybe it's just not my cup of tea. 😕 I received a gift card for Christmas and wanted to try and get the most bang for my buck. So I ordered the Double Feature and got one of each street taco, rice, beans, and two drinks. We wanted to try all of them offered. Sadly only one of the tacos (green chili pork)was actually pretty good, although it lacked a bit in flavor. The Carne asada was just ok, but can't call it terrible even though it also lacked flavor. The Barbacoa was the worst. It was dry and seemed over cooked, flavor also not there. The rice was perfectly cooked. 😊 Light and fluffy, but there was no flavor...not even salt. Salting the water it was cooked in would have done wonders for it. The beans were horrible. The salsa also had no flavor. My precious dr pepper had no spice! 😭 I should have stuck to what I originally thought and gotten the Baja shrimp tacos...because those were good last time and tried the queso for the first time. 😔 I blame myself for wasting my gift card balance because I decided to try something new. I wanna love you Torchy, but I need you to love me back some too with a bit more flavor.

The smell from the table area was very unpleasant ,it reminded me of an overused, uncleaned mop. Unfortunately, the bathroom also had a strong odor. As for the food, I wasn’t very impressed. The only taco I somewhat enjoyed was the shrimp Baja. Overall, I feel it’s overpriced for the quality offered. Sadly, I wouldn’t return.

If you like bizarre things in your tacos then this is for you. Very few options for people that like authentic tacos. That and their prices are higher than a giraffes booty! Hard pass.

It’s sad that I have to give them the one star but it’s not on the fact that food is not good because the food is great. I sat at the bar and waited to see if I was going to be greeted by the female bartenders that was working the bar tonight 04/04/2022. The strawberry blonde headed young lady looked at me and didn’t say anything. The brunette young lady walked back into the bar and as soon as she came back she looked right at me and then went and helped another customer that had been sitting there. And the reason I know he had been sitting there because the glass he had in front of him only had about half a glass of beer in it meaning he had already been waited on. Mind you the strawberry blonde lady still never asked if I needed anything. Finally the brunette young lady came to me and said are you ordering I told her yes I need a menu please. Finally put my order in and by for my drink and my food. What I also noticed is that even though I had my food and drink neither one of them came back and asked how was everything did I need anything else. They pretty much talked to the white male patrons at the bar and made sure they were good. I don’t know if this is how a bar is supposed to be ran but they are the worst when it comes to customer service and making sure that all patrons get the same service.

Unfortunately this was a complete waste of $15.. the yellow you see here is grease. These were the nastiest, greasiest, beef fajitas I’ve ever had. The chicken was OK at best.. but for 15$? I’ll support a local taqueria next time. I’ve never ate here before and I never will again.

This was my first time ever eating at Torchys and unfortunately I will not be back. I wanted to love the food so bad because I’ve heard it’s the best ever. The girl that took our order was very short and rude and turned her back to us and stared at the menu.I guess because I said I need a sec.we ordered the democrat,the crossroads and the threesome. Both tacos were extremely dry…so dry in fact that I choked on the brisket in the crossroads. They were bland and I didn’t taste any tomatillo sauce nor did I see any so idk if it was forgotten or what. The threesome was not that great imo we didn’t get any choice of salsa. The guacamole looked good but had that sour taste to it like off avocados.the queso was fine. The cherry coke was really good nice and crisp.The restaurant was really clean and the atmosphere was quiet.bathrooms were clean.the lady that helped us get the to go boxes was super nice. I wish I had gotten her name but I didn’t.im super disappointed.I wanted to fall in love with Torchys.i have pics but there isn’t an option for me to post any for some reason.

The kiosk didn't work to pay the cashier. The tacos were cold. My wife ordered the Mr. Orange and said it tasted fishy, not fresh. Do not plan to ever go back.

I never like to rate 1 star but the customer service lady i don't think anyone could be as dry and unfriendly as this lady. Rung up the wrong queso and my tab thing didn't light up. I go over to her she said they came out looking for you and you weren't here you'll will have to wait. I waited nothing ever came i go back to her I said let me speak to your manager she goes back within a second comes back with the bag how rude.

Brushfire tacos were less than desirable and below standard. I gave the bartender a $30 tip because she actually attempted to rectify the situation. The photo depicts the standard vs what I received. Truly disappointed in the food at this location. Second attempt at brushfire offered were watered down no flavor and worse than the first offering. I do believe the manager stated there were several variations of the chicken offered between the franchises. (Queso, baja shrimp tacos and brushfire tacos)

If you want a to go order I have found they cant get one right… Never had a problem getting one right dine in. However this is the second time we have been giving the wrong food to go. I live in Athens its not like I can run right back up there and get it replaced. The ticket said it correctly… I can’t have bbq sauce and also don’t care it… I don’t think they care…

I ordered from their veggie taco menu, spoke with a manager to confirm there was no lard in the beans or chicken broth in the rice, Explain that I am vegan and cannot have any animal ingredients yeah, there was meat in my food. If a restaurant cannot manage to avoid cross-contamination, then they won't be getting my business.

They have replaced the cashiers with kiosks. The kiosks suck. They’re hard to work and it slows down the process so much. I had to wait nearly 10 minutes for someone to come check my ID since I ordered a margarita. Two other couples in front of me couldn’t figure out the kiosk either. What a stupid idea. Food is pretty good though.
