great coffee beans
Helped me out when I needed a bunch of coffee for an event with less than an hour’s notice. Lifesavers!
I love Joe for coffee, been coming for years because not only is the coffee great, but they are the only place that puts non-dairy milks out so you don’t have to ask and be up charged for it. Appreciated.
I have had my eye on this coffee shop since starting working in the area. I finally went to Joe Coffee right after work to get me a cup of Decaf Coffee. Since it was my first time I had many questions and the who worked with me in getting my order young lady Lorraine who was very patient, she answered every question I had to make sure my coffee was perfect. Thank you Miss you g lady Lorraine for getting me the perfect cup of coffee tonight. I will be seeing you again. Your store is a walk across the park from my job.
Great staff always a good experience
So kind. Raine and Lorraine helped me out and were so kind and compassionate. Plus the coffee was delish. Thank you!!!!
Great little coffee shop, good quality espresso for a chain. Great service especially Ira - thanks!
I got this coffee in a coffee subscription service a few months ago and was super excited to try it in the store. It did not disappoint 🤗
My favorite joe coffee location. The service and coffee drinks are constantly good.
Love the coffee here ! Amazing service, the manager is great super helpful and nice
Love their americano!! Def buy beans to make your own coffee at home
Cozy and Beautiful place, and the Coffee is delicious
This coffee tastes amazing. I got the iced latte, it was really good.
Imm'peckable as always!
Great music and service to start the day right!!
Great coffee. With choice of oat and other milks
Great coffee with options for large sized coffees.
Wonderful espresso with professional staff.
great coffee. great service. great people.
Absolutely lovely atmosphere and a great staff. Had a dance battle with a few friends in the shop and the baristas were the judges. Hot chocolate was very delicious and I will definitely be coming back!
The coffee is great. The baristas are amazing. But the place is very tiny, so not enough space to sit. If they expanded the cafe, I think it would be amazing with alot more people coming in to enjoy coffee and pastries with friends.
Stopped by Joe Coffee Company during my morning out to the Union Square Farmer's Market. I'd like to give 50000+ stars to the barista (with the hat with no brim) who was manning the store by himself. When I walked in, I saw him helping an older man with a walker, who needed some extra help and patience. The barista was incredibly patient with him, and came around from the cashier area just to pick up something the man had dropped, and even walked him to a spot for him to sit. Meanwhile, a long line had formed in the store, but I think we all recognized that this barista was doing his best! He was still attentive to the customers in line, and I was impressed by his multitasking ability and process - rotating between taking orders, taking payments, making coffee, and helping the man (who had more requests for extra splenda and a stirrer) and taking the time to take these items to his spot directly. This was on day 1 of my weekend trip to NY and it left my heart warmed for the weekend ahead. I like to give credit where credit is due - so to the barista, thank you!!!! We need more people like you in the world :)
They just opened up two weeks ago, but I'm pretty sure that soon they'll become a neighborhood favorite. Their Hot Apple Cider and Banana Loafs are delicious. Come visit and see. You won't be disappointed.
Always friendly and speedy in the morning. Though I wish they’d bring back King David tacos, uptaco is not near as good. I go to Blank street for those.
Solid coffee right across Union Square, and nice employees (eg Angela). I grab an iced oat milk latte from here every so often when I’m strolling through the park.
In a world full of terrible drip coffees, Joe delivers the goods. Thank you for putting care into the lost art of the drip. Always look forward to coming here when I'm at Union Square.
I enjoyed a great Chai latte, flavorful. Prompt and friendly service. Convenient on the west side of Union Square Park.
Great and friendly service. Quiet with a view of Union Square Park from West Side. Joined to Chase Bank by walkthrough.
Not to be dramatic but the banana bread latte with almond milk (asked for less sweetness) was absolutely life changing. Great music (bad bunny) and nice baristas! Really close to union square holiday market :)
The best almond latte in the Union Sq neighborhood. After checking out different coffee spots in the area, Joe Coffee got me! Great prompt and friendly service, cool space with a nice vibe, and the best creamy and luscious almond latte! Joe Coffee Union Sq is my daily stop for my coffee buzz.
The girls that work at night time are the kindest and sweetest people ever, they remake my drink and they did it without hesitation and I really appreciated the way that they treat you so 10 stars ⭐️!
Solid, well organized cafe next to Union square (west side) No nonsense menu, prompt service. A bunch of seats inside which is almost a luxury in NYC Curios how the chase bank is part of the same environment… This would be a 4.5 star review but: the macchiato was actually top notch stuff + the barista took her time to explain the difference with a cortado. Good job!
Cute stop and go coffee shop next to the park. A bit on the pricey side but has all the standard drinks and combinations you can think of. Decent room to sit down and kind wait staff.
Gotta love this coffee. Their oat milk is bomb with coffee. Love it. Fresh. Good service too. Bakery items are often super yummy too
Good masala chai

How cool for a coffee shop to share doors and even tables with a Chase ATM and banking kiosk area? I don't know what else Chase offers there but it's weird and cool. Cold brew (small) was about $5, delicious and filled to the brim of the to-go cup. All the usual offerings if a small coffee shop. I will go back again.
Great staff. Bean scones are yummy
I love this coffee shop. Just extremely overpriced!
Five stars to the amazing staff. Best matcha in the area. Great croissants and peanut snacks. Love being there every day for work. Sweet and kind baristas. I have some social anxiety and they are so patient and so positive to be around. They deserve all the respect when it gets busy. Hi from the Holiday Market. :)

Good Joe, food vibes, bit too small for casual conversation tho. Great place to gain respite from the cold
Expensive but worth it most the time.
Decent coffee good place good staff
I had a blueberry muffin from here for $4.50 (including tax). It was delicious and INCREDIBLY filling. They had great customer service. A tad overpriced but all was fine.
The location is great, the place is tiny, probably meant to be “grub-n-go”. Coffee is made quickly; however, feels like the portion is not big enough for the price. Staff was nice all the times I visited.
Convenient location but every seat/table was dirty. My friends that got coffee were happy though.
Daring establishment next to Union Square Starbucks. It shares the location with Chase Bank. The place is small, but simple and streamlined. I got my latte really fast with compromising the quality. Staff can be a little friendlier. It is not that busy comparing to the SBUX nextdoor.
good consistent coffee served HOT. steps from Union Square when you need a beverage while people watching and catching a breath. a clean well lit space with decent amount of seating when it is rainy. and friendly efficient service. coffee shop simplicity is an understated need in NYC.
Good coffee, great service even in the middle of a snowstorm. Weirdly attached to a Chase bank and the google location seems to be off a little. Nice staff, would come back.
Ok coffee, ok prices, ok staff. A solid option for a coffee around Union Square. There are a few places to sit inside and the regular variety of coffee drinks you would expect.
Regular coffee place with an average coffee. Very small and nothing unique about it. Drip coffee was ok. Not a special place but it also does it job.

Really average coffee like drinks
No restrooms! Why??
So good! Coffee and cookies!
Coffee fine staff rude
Entirely friendly!
Why are the staff so grim? Coffee is unremarkable. Bad traffic flow. They won’t put the top on your to-go coffee. So you have to navigate through the crowd to the coffee cup top station then back again out the door to the street. I only visit when I have to get eggs at the Union Square Farmers Market. It’s on my way.
A convenient location for grabbing a cup of something before heading into Union Square for some people watching.
Five star service!
I just think their drinks are ok, the baked goods are probably good, but everything is overpriced for what you get in my opinion. The Nutella banana bread is good, but I got a breakfast taco there and it was not that good and expensive. Maybe that's my bad for ordering that late in the day like it had been sitting around, but they shouldn't sell it if it's going to be worse later, idk.
Coffee is fine - but they gotta expand the seating or something around here. It's also way too expensive nowadays, but maybe I'm just old and remember when a small coffee was $2 a pop.
Coffee was average. On par with Starbucks. Place was clean and service was excellent.
Good OK coffee. Pricey. Staff is impatient and have absolutely no clue how to respond to new customers. Hey, not everyone can see where the Milk/Sugar self-serve station is HIDDEN BEHIND the book shelf! DUH.

I've visited this cafe about 4 times due to convenience and location. Mediocre coffee(at best) at very expensive prices, not worth it.
Very mid coffee and the atmosphere was bleh. Wish this location would change ownership
I don’t know why, people in the store are so unhappy. I do not own your money 🙄
I saw the barista make my latte with a shot of chilled coffee from a squeeze bottle instead of a fresh pull from the espresso machine. This could be standard practice, but made for a substandard latte. At 8$ I think it should at least be fresh.
Was coming to the shop pretty often on my way to work. Recently noticed that people less an less care about the quality of the service they provide. Today I went in and in front of me was only one person. The barista with green hair took the order of the girl in front of me, then my order was taken… I moved to the wall and started waiting. Besides that barista could not stop having a conversation with the girl in front of me (even though I was in a rush, but I just ignored it and kept waiting), barista finally made a coffee for a person in front of me. It got taken. Then barista simply jumped to the person behind me… of cours why not. I asked for the refund because I couldn’t wait anymore. The guy who returned me my 5:25$ said that someone took my drink. Such a convinrent lie. Bravo. Instead of apologizing I got lied to :/ It just completely killed the vibe. Enjoy the tips I left and I will enjoy the coffee I never got. Leaving 2 stars only because of the previous coffees I got there. Will never go there again.
Insanely expensive $7 for a latte with almond milk. Its even more expensive than starbucks (how?). Baristas were so loud with their own chitchat convos (during slow time) and I could barely hear my own thoughts.
I was hoping to have a good matcha latte. I got lumps of matcha in my mouth with every other sip. Not the most pleasant thing. I had to dump it. Spent 6$. Hopefully they make good coffee…
Hello neighbor! This review is about sustainability only. 🙂 We are currently in a plastic waste crisis. By 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Over 95% of plastics that we create do not get recycled, and instead break down into microplastics that we consume. I appreciate that your coffee shop has real mugs available to customers. But it seems like no one in the shop knows about them. I wonder how you may be able to better communicate you’re offering a reusable mugs. Maybe that means putting up a sign, encouraging that customers ask for them, or having your barista’s explicitly ask customers if they are dining in or working from the shop. It is a shame to see so many Joe Coffee cups in the trashcan here. A clear indicator that people are staying to drink your coffee, but not utilizing the dishware that would make it more sustainable. Thank you for considering my note, and helping New Yorkers make better choices on behalf of our local and global ecosystems. Love your coffee, love your service, and would really love a bit more communications to encourage greener behavior.
Worst instant matcha ~ barely green and completely tasteless! Do NOT COME HERE FOR MATCHA😖 $8 rip off

During my visit, I found the service dismissive and unwelcoming. The barista’s attitude gave the impression that I was inconveniencing them, which left a negative impression. Maybe they didn’t like I asked for a ceramic mug? I don’t know. I believe a more attentive and respectful approach would go a long way in creating a better experience for the customers. I hope this feedback will help ensure a more positive atmosphere moving forward. Best regards,

Il peggiore espresso che abbia mai bevuto in assoluto. Da evitare l’espresso
Might be convenient but the coffee os disgusting and overpriced.
Stopped by at 7.17 pm on Thursday 1/13 and shop was closed. Please edit your work hours
My father said they put only one shot of espresso in large Americano. And then charged him $6 (automatically included $2 tip) instead of $4. So he had to protest and take it off. My dad doesn’t drink Americano a lot so he doesn’t know large size has to have several shots. Starbucks adds 4 shots in Venti americano
Blackberry hibiscus lime spritz is awfully sweet.
