I like this place alot, the family is sweet to me, the Father cooks the food, which is fast and Good. Local 80 and 44 maybe 728 i.a.t.s.e Film TV or movies there on occasions and it's closed early afternoon by 2pm. Good quality, Kind Hearted service. Not the TV guys. Just the restaurant.

Heart's is exactly what an old diner should be! You get the feeling of annoying grandma in the kitchen while she's busy but still putting up with you. The breakfast of course is deliciousness but so are the bacon cheeseburgers! Great for a simple, straight forward dinner.

My family and I have been coming here ever since I can remember, that's going on over 30 years now. The breakfast is simple, inexpensive, and delicious. Their lunch/dinner plates are good as well. The owner, Sue, can be somewhat serious sometime but, if you get to know her she'll definitely joke around with you. It is family owned and they are all great to talk with. It has a feel and connection to the past that to many restaurants do not have these days. Come to enjoy some good food and relax.

A family run coffee shop, Heart's serves classic American comfort food with great, friendly family service. The food isn't gourmet but it is perfectly fine in the way a coffee shop can be. This is the best diner in the valley! If I could Give 10 stars I would. Growing up here there are a lot of good food options. I’ve tried pretty much every coffee/breakfast spot around with that being said this is the best diner I have ever been to and will continue to go to as long as i am able. It is Family owned and operated with love and care. I have much respect for this business and as a business man myself I see the care taken into the service provided. From my grandfather to my father to me and to my kids I will continue to pass along this amazing diner valley secret. I felt compelled to write this as I’ve always had great great experiences here over years. With this said I hope whoever reads this makes their mind up and visits one of the most reliable best comfy places with friendly service. I usually order breakfast but my family loves all the dinner and sandwich meals as well. If you’re super uppity and a Karen or ken go find your avocado toast somewhere else and please be nice if you do visit. I mean that with respect because this is a classic diner. This is a hometown diner and has earned the respect and love of the community. So they prolly even have the avo toast but get something better. I'm a diner man. Nothing like a reasonably priced, friendly, family owned diner to really make you feel at home. From the first time to the last time this place has always left me with a smile. Whether it's grabbing a quick cup of coffee in the morning or treating myself to hot plate of breakfast Heart's delivers. The owners are either cooking or taking your order which results in giving you that "local" feeling. Makes me wish I lived nearby so I could make it my regular pit stop, but sadly I only got to enjoy it for the 3 months I was working in Van Nuys. Would come back just for the coffee and warm smiles.

The hashbrowns are also perfect--crispy (but not too crispy), buttery, and they weren't dry, like, you could eat them with or without ketchup. My over-easy eggs were made perfect as well, which is honestly kind of rare. The whites were cooked, but the yolks were super runny. Everything was really delicious, the coffee was good, and the service was really good and fast. I think I've found my new go-to breakfast spot. And the prices here are great. It's like $7 for 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, and hashbrowns. So glad we stopped in today :)

Heart’s is a small diner located just west of Van Nuys in the heart of the valley. I would say it’s the classic retro diner and has that classic LA look on the inside. They have a lot of different seating options, both booth and counter and a giant bustling kitchen. There is a parking lot with free parking attached with plenty of spaces. Also, our server was very polite and all the food items came out very quickly. They also did a great job with the drink refills and checking in on us often. They have a fairly large menu filled with all sorts of diner classics. Based on a lot of other reviews, I wanted to try their Country Fried Steak, and I am very happy that I did so. The white gravy on top was truly delicious and obviously homemade, the steak itself was cooked perfectly, and not too crispy, and their homemade butter really was delicious and added to the flavors. I honestly enjoyed every bite and was impressed at the cost and quality. It is important to note that it is cash only but they do accept Zelle and also have a ATM inside. The valley is full of amazing diners and I would consider Heart’s to be one of them. It’s truly a great breakfast option and I would recommend to anyone. I drove up from West LA specifically for it and I’m happy that I did so.

CASH ONLY, is what I'll say, just in case you want to go and you do not know. This is a little dinner with a small parking lot. It has nice people working and the food is made well. I've been here when its busy and it could take it minute to get the food but it's one of the few places in the area to get a breakfast that isnt dennys.

Giant portions, costing not giant. Freshly made and tasty. Orange juice has an odd taste not sure what it is but it’s not fresh squeezed and not a common brand flavor. I know orange juice is a big part of a ton of people’s breakfast beverage that’s why I mention it. They only take cash for payment so be prepared. Decent size parking lot and always a wait during primary times, but it’s worth the wait. Also great even when it’s 45 minutes to closing. I recommend any of the breakfast plates I haven’t tried anything else.

Sigh... I mean our breakfast, itself, was.. *meh*, at best? The selection was meager. The service was, sigh: ONE waitress to the ENTIRE place, MID BREAKFAST RUSH, so yeah. I mean SHE was VERY sweet, yet THAT only goes so far when one's hungry, no, lol!? Then, syddenly, they "take ONLY CASH"... yet: their ATM IS BROKEN?!? NO "forewarning", either, sorta "trap-like", after the meal.

Nothing fancy, but decent value. You get fairly sizable portions for what you pay. The food itself is pretty average. Even so, the price makes up for that. They weren't great about refilling water or coffee.

Needless to say, the lady taking up our order seemed more concerned with catering to the regulars than to us. The only coffee refill I had was thanks to a regular who was sitting next to us and offered to refill my mug since the server/owner(?) placed a coffee pot in front of him. Regarding the food, the eggs were cooked as requested, just missing some salt, just like the hashbrowns, but that can easily be solved, obviously. For those with sodium intake issues, this is obviously a plus. On the other hand, the pancakes were dry and chewy, and I didn't like the flavor. I'm partial to pancakes made from scratch, so as busy as this place was, it's understandable if their pancakes come out of a box. I just didn't care for them. All things considered, at $7, this breakfast was worth what I paid for. I probably won't eat it again.

On the outside it looks like a throwback kind of dinner (and it probably is) but on the inside there are things like large Asian porcelain vases, a lucky cat figurine, etc. Which makes sense because it turns out it is run by an elderly Asian couple. The food itself is very basic breakfast diner food and limited in selection. Very large portions. The flavor was just OK. I wanted to try this place just because I always drive by it but now that I have, I don't think I would go here again. It's not bad; it just isn't anything special either.

The service was outstanding, prices fair, only cash (which caused me to need to run to ATM) BUT.... after having a slightly funny tasting Chicken Fried Steak, I had violent food poisoning. I doubt I'll ever eat that dish again.

maybe their lunch is good, but would not recommend breakfast. yes prices are low but you get what you pay for. Dennys would have been better and I'm a breakfast guy, only thing I ate were the eggs, bacon was extremely dry, and who serves margarine with pancakes, come on!

You must be high to think this place has good food... Thai owners have no idea how a breakfast should be made.. They should be forced to remove the original sign.. There is nothing (American breakfast)about them..Totally miss leading... Sadly the same can be said for most old shops in Van nuys.. Old classic signs with new unskilled owners...

First time coming in. BAD VERY BAD... Had the breakfast. Everything was burnt. There's no style to the cooking. No quality. Just wants your money. Place looks closed. Very run down.

Used to really love this place. That is of course until i started ordering anything but the simple breakfast plates. Tried to order three times, got attitude each time and the last thing was so butter soaked it might as well have been buttery paper. Used to love this place and i will never be back even its the last place open after the apocolypse.
