Wow! This is such a good breakfast spot!! Make sure you have cash on you, otherwise there is an ATM right outside, but definitely try this place! The pancakes were so fluffy and spongy, not too sweet or heavy, literally perfect. The Spanish Omlette is very delicious, the red sauce is homemade, and it kind of tastes like a wet burrito. The hashbrowns are also perfect--crispy (but not too crispy), buttery, and they weren't dry, like, you could eat them with or without ketchup. My over-easy eggs were made perfect as well, which is honestly kind of rare. The whites were cooked, but the yolks were super runny. Everything was really delicious, the coffee was good, and the service was really good and fast. I think I've found my new go-to breakfast spot. And the prices here are great. It's like $7 for 3 pancakes, 2 eggs, and hashbrowns. So glad we stopped in today :)
Small, friendly, welcoming mom and pop diner. Love it!! So happy to find this gem. Close to our house. We will be back...often!!! Huge selection, great food, fantastic prices. Winner!!!! Get the hash browns- perfectly done.
I have loved this place for decades. Their Pork Chops are CRAZY GOOD. I have never been disappointed with anything at HEARTS
I lived in the valley for more than 20 years and this is the first time i had this spot. food: i got the breakfast country fried steak and eggs with a side of pancakes on a very rainy morning. the value for this meal was less than 16 dollars in the city of los angeles. Great great value. service: a family seems to run the diner. there was a chef and two servers running the shop. Mom dad and seems to be their son. Love to support a local business. ambiance: renovation isn't much here but all the money goes to helping saving a couple bucks for the locals. That's a win there. verdict: gotta check this place out if your a local.
Great family-owned business, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Very cozy, vintage atmosphere. I had the chicken fried steak with two eggs and some hot cakes on the side, all of them tasted great. Note that the parking may be difficult or tight, but there are spaces toward the back. Very unique diner in the valley. Would definitely come here again!
Always see their sign and wonder if they're still open... and they are! Family owned for the last 49ish years. They have parking in the back which can be accessed through saticoy or back alley. The place has that old diner vibe, pretty neat... plus I feel the responsibility to support our local businesses. The portions are big and prices are fair. Great service also! You are instantly greeted... Oh! They dont accept credit cards so bring cash...We didn't bring any cash , oops! But they do accept venmo and zelle Let's support our beautiful San Fernando valley
Big portion of food, service 10/10 The omelets were very delicious 😋 They only take cash! ATM inside didn’t work :(
CASH ONLY. As soon as they set the food down, I knew it was going to be a great meal based on the quality of the food and how great it looked. Heart’s is a small diner located just west of Van Nuys in the heart of the valley. I would say it’s the classic retro diner and has that classic LA look on the inside. They have a lot of different seating options, both booth and counter and a giant bustling kitchen. There is a parking lot with free parking attached with plenty of spaces. Also, our server was very polite and all the food items came out very quickly. They also did a great job with the drink refills and checking in on us often. They have a fairly large menu filled with all sorts of diner classics. Based on a lot of other reviews, I wanted to try their Country Fried Steak, and I am very happy that I did so. The white gravy on top was truly delicious and obviously homemade, the steak itself was cooked perfectly, and not too crispy, and their homemade butter really was delicious and added to the flavors. I honestly enjoyed every bite and was impressed at the cost and quality. It is important to note that it is cash only but they do accept Zelle and also have a ATM inside. The valley is full of amazing diners and I would consider Heart’s to be one of them. It’s truly a great breakfast option and I would recommend to anyone. I drove up from West LA specifically for it and I’m happy that I did so.
Very nice place to dine in for breakfast. They always have very hot coffee and delicious food. I enjoy their 2x2x2x2 and the French toast. The waitress is always ensuring you have everything you need and is very lovely.

I love Breakfast Foods, more than my friends sometimes, and this spot really nails in how delicious and filling breakfast spots should be, portions are great and HOLY the prices are amazing, new favorite spot! Also, I don’t know how but one of the ladies working inside the restaurant somehow heard me muttering on wanting ketchup, and me having anxiety to speak up didn’t say anything, but magically she shows up with ketchup right at the table, FIVE STARS XOXO thank you! <3
Had a perfect BLT in the cutest diner that I hope stays in business for decades to come. Run by the same family for nearly 50 years. An LA classic.
Excellent food and wonderful, kind service in an authentic traditional old diner. I had the smoked ham and eggs while my companion went with the pork chop and eggs. Quite tasty. Note that they are cash-only.
Family diner! Love the feel of this place. The staff was friendly and timely. The waiter was consistent with checking on us to see if we needed anything and asking how we were doing. The food was, was down home cooking, what you would expect mom or dad to cook on a Sunday morning. I highly recommend to hashbrowns.
Amazing diner breakfast. No frills. Just good food, great staff, and comfy atmosphere. Feels like I'm home back in the Midwest. Great prices. Fast service. Cash only. Def worth stopping by.
bathroom does not have a wall hook in it david had nowhere to hang his jacket :(
Honestly a 10/10, amazing little hole in the wall family owned dinner. Feels welcoming, warm, and cozy. Don't even get me started on the food though, 11/10. Great price, great portions, incredible taste! Would recommend will be going again!

Where can you have the quality breakfast these days? Our families have been coming here for the past 30 years, and the foods are consistently delicious. This is the 2 generations of family own restaurant serving our community with the best breakfast and lunch. Love this nostalgic decors/ atmosphere, and extremely clean too. Try their pork chops breakfast, veal cutlets, fried chicken, and steaks! They serve the best quality, and generous amount of foods. Also the hash browns are so fresh and crispy. The price is also more than reasonable. Easy parking and excellent services.
Average prices. Large portion sizes. Very friendly service. Take out only right now due to covid but it was still pretty good. My chicken fried steak with brown gravy was pretty decent but a bit tough. I'd give it another try!
Came because Lana Del Rey had a photo shoot here and the aesthetic was beautiful and I wanted to try the food out maybe have a little shoot. Good has it as open however it was closed down for repairs seems like. I’ll come back no date stated when it will reopen just a “opening soon” sign.

Funny atmosphere. On the outside it looks like a throwback kind of dinner (and it probably is) but on the inside there are things like large Asian porcelain vases, a lucky cat figurine, etc. Which makes sense because it turns out it is run by an elderly Asian couple. The food itself is very basic breakfast diner food and limited in selection. Very large portions. The flavor was just OK. I wanted to try this place just because I always drive by it but now that I have, I don't think I would go here again. It's not bad; it just isn't anything special either.
The food's OK. Hours are limited so come early. We had eight in our party and they gave us a private table in a TINY back room, which was claustrophobic and unsafe. Slow. The waiter brought two orders at a time so we could not all eat at once. Cash only here, no cards accepted. But the food was pretty good.
