This restaurant was fantastic! From the overall vibes and aesthetic to the food. I don’t eat a ton of seafood but the scallops and ceviche were out of this world incredible! I’m craving it as we speak. We also had delicious cocktails, salad and rice. Our sever was also so kind and helpful. Highly recommend a visit here!

Both the Cashew Miso Aged Duck and the Skirt Steak were perfectly cooked! The Ceviche was fresh with a flavorful dressing, and the Toffee Pudding was pure heaven. This restaurant is officially on my regular list!

Popular and cool. You know what? Fully deserved. The dishes have a mesmerizing mixture of heat, spice, acid, smoke that gives a depth to the fish dishes which is magnetic. Really raises the ceviches to another level. And the fried chicken... the crispy, thin skin is just perfect. Do not forget the cocktails!

Honestly, I think this is my new favorite restaurant in LA. We sat down and I let the server pick all our food. We loved every single bite. Blown away. So thoughtful, so much technique, so interesting. And there was just enough of each to get a little taste and miss it. The drinks were lethal and creative. The vibe was outdoor but intimate. The palm trees in the middle of the restaurant were perfect. I want to come back here. I want to show everyone. I love this place. It was cool and sexy and unique. Parking isn’t easy, paid lots that aren’t cheap because it’s so close to the beach. There were kids here, but I wouldn’t bring them. They likely wouldn’t appreciate the menu. Desserts were incredible too. We ordered both.

Delicious food, unique flavors!! With a group of 6, we ate our way through much of the menu. The raw seafood dishes each had distinct spices and seasonings—from curry to coconut. Loved how crispy the fried chicken was, and the pork was seasoned very well. Everything had nuance and depth. Also found cocktails and desserts top notch—especially the sticky toffee pudding. I came here for a special birthday dinner and it exceeded my expectations! My one negative is it’s pretty dark in the dining room in the evening, so I was glad we placed our order and could see the menu before sunset.

We went early on a Monday right at opening. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and timely. We were offered drinks immediately. The cocktail was balanced and elegant. My Mendocino Edelzwicker was lovely and paired thoughtfully with the array of dishes. While the setting was cool and airy and the staff lovely, the cuisine stole the show. From the crispy tuna carpaccio to the exotic shrimp dumplings were were impressed. We then moved into the Kampuchea that was simply incredibly. Bold yet balanced flavors complemented the banana wrapped fish without overpowering it. Blown away. A perfect experience. This is a star in the LA scene and one of the very best in Venice.

From the resto name, prolly people could already guess the kind of dishes they served. I found it hooking as the theme was more fusion than single-themed. And hey, it's Venice! So obviously the design would be demure and the vibe was just bomb. Reservation's highly recommended as the place got very busy especially on weekends prime time. Most of the dishes were perfect for sharing with 2-3 people. They're indeed more on the higher price range for the portion, but I guessed you got what you paid in terms of quality. Curry Spiced Sashimi (7.5/10) Green Banana Patacones (7/10) Shrimp Dumplings (8.5/10) Fried Chicken Drumsticks (8/10) My friend and I shared 4 dishes and we went home super full. Starting with the sashimi which was fresh and super flavorful with bold curry taste. The Banana Patacones reminded me of my home country, Indonesia, where we did eat banana fritters with chili sauce. The 2 dipping sauces definitely elevated the simple fried banana itself. I somehow preferred the banana to be sweet ones so it gave the twist of sweet and savory. The Shrimp Dumplings were doubtlessly my highlight from the dining table. It was surely nothing like any other dumplings you could think of, certainly thanks to the coconut bisque base served with the dumplings. They were so rich in seasoning and the taste was just mind-blowing with a hint of spicy kick. The drumsticks were indeed fried chicken, but Si!Mon made it unique in their own version with the special seasonings coating the twice-fried chicken. It was awesome that it didn't feel greasy and the spicy ketchup well complemented the chicken. There were definitely more I wanted to explore from the menu so would be looking forward to the next visit!

Incredible experience. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere felt both modern and cozy at the same time. The chef truly delivers beyond expectations, every bite was full of flavor. The portions are perfect for sharing, which makes it even more enjoyable to try different dishes and experience the menu together.

From the same owners as Hatchet Hall, this Latin American dinner focused Venice restaurant took the place of the former famous James Beach and I am happy to report that they serve some seriously great meals here. Inside is designed beautifully, very open and light and in the evening, it is quite dark and moody, and is the perfect kind of place to take a date. We live very close by so we took a Waymo otherwise it will be street parking or valet. Inside is quite large, they have many different types of table options, we were sat at a half booth, but they have full booths and full tables as well. They also have a large bar. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out as it was ready, it’s a not a traditional three course restaurant, think almost like tapas. Some of the items we ordered: 1. Kanpachi Ceviche : coconut leche de tigre, crispy corn, red onion, plantain chips (10/10) 2. Tuna Carpaccio Yuca Tostada : cachucha pepper aioli, smoked achiote oil, black lime (10/10) 3. Afro-Caribbean Shrimp Dumplings : coconut bisque, charred scallion oil, herbs (8/10) 4. Sweet Corn Bollo : pecorino, natilla, guajillo chili oil, crispy corn (10/10 my favorite dish) 5. Grilled Skirt Steak : tasajo butter, grilled onion, bone marrow black beans (8.5/10) 6. Sticky Toffee Pudding : platano macho, banana toffee sauce, buttermilk ice cream (9/10) Of the list I would say the Sweet Corn Bollo or the Kanpachi Ceviche was my favorite and honestly, the entire meal was very good. It can get quite loud inside so I would not recommend for a business dinner, but it is a great choice for a date or dinner with friends or family. I will be back in the future.

I know folks would say a restaurant should be based on its food alone (which was great, thanks Chef José) but I want to call out the amazing atmosphere here as well as the amazing service. All the staff seemed so genuine and welcoming that it really just felt like a personal experience versus a cold here's your fancy food and now leave situation. As for the food, everything came out so quickly but it was also amazingly fresh and delicious. The tastes were such a fun combination but let me call out the yuca fries. This is not your standard Peruvian yuca fries which can be crunchy and dry. These fries were life changing. Well seasoned, crispy perfection, with dreamy, creamy center. Please run, don't walk, for these fries.

Food, vibes, and everything is immaculate. Service was great, as they knew all items on the menu, provided recommendations and things to consider when ordering specific dishes, coursed dishes well, and were very attentive! For dinner, it’s a great spot. Very comfortable, decorated very well, warm dim lighting, and the ambiance is loud but not so loud you have to yell over each other to speak. It is more so a busy with a lot of background noise that allows for easy conversation at your table. The food was great with favorites being the Afro-Caribbean Shrimp Dumplings with Coconut Rice and Grilled Skirt Steak. We will definitely be going back for more as this is an incredible restaurant and sister restaurant to another favorite, Hatched Hall!

Great food and atmosphere. The parking lot across the street makes for an easy entry. Decor is very desert chic. Food is excellent and the portions are generous. I made my own plate with my order. Loved the coconut rice, steak and yucca fries as seen in my pic. Appetizers were also really good This place also offer fresh plates between courses. That’s how I can tell if a kitchen takes their food seriously

Every dish was phenomenal. The scallops and ceviche had the perfect balance of citrus. I paired the baked oysters with coconut rice and it was a good choice! The oysters were fresh and the coconut rice had the right amount of sweetness and savory. Plus, our server was very friendly and sweet :) Thank you for making my birthday special! 🤎

This place was amazing. From the decor, to the vibe, the music and especially the food and drinks. This place is has a vibrant vibe and Latin music going on and makes for a good group or intimate dinner. Everything on the menu we tried was all amazing. We started with the curry spiced sashimi which has a nice kick to it. The bragada red snapper carpaccio was recommended by our waiter and it was very good. The smoked fish dip was excellent especially with the dipping with the plantain chips and taro chips. The yuca fries were a surprising star of the meal. Soft and airy and the onion cilantro sauce adding a lot of great flavor to it. The puspusa was very soft and tender and delicious. Good portioning of the cheese and chicharron. The fish collars were excellent with the curry mixture. Many peoples favorite was the cashew miso aged duck. It was very tender and very delicious. The last item we got was the lamb tamal which was tender and very good. The Cesar salad is also a good green to go with the meal. For dessert we got both the sticky toffee pudding and coconut flan. To our surprise, the sticky toffee pudding was the favorite among the table and it was very banana forward. The drinks were also very good. I got the Camino del sol and the native son which were excellent. The bananamericano seems to be a huge favorite among us for the white negroni. The staff was excellent and very attentive and personable. They were very knowledgeable and helpful in deciding on the choices for the meal. The cost of this meal is very reasonable especially considering that it feels very fancy. I would love to come back to try all the other dishes we missed out on.

Si Mon is more than a restaurant—it’s a heartfelt journey through the soul of Panama, plated with pride and precision. My mother-in-law was born in Panama, and every time we encounter a space that celebrates Panamanian culture, especially one as intentional and expressive as this, it feels like a little homecoming. From the first bite, you can feel the roots. The offerings and flavors are unmistakably Panamanian—deep, soulful, and layered with history. But what truly sets Si Mon apart is how gracefully it honors the cultural mosaic of Panama. The Afro-Caribbean warmth in the seasoning, and the nods to Asian and Chinese culinary influences—all of it speaks to the rich, complex heritage that defines the isthmus. And yet, nothing feels frozen in time. The menu at Si Mon is a conversation between generations, where the traditional meets the contemporary without losing its voice. It’s a progression—a thoughtful, modern framing of everything that is native, nostalgic, and nourishing. Seeing another native Panamanian succeed, especially in such a bold and creative way, is a moment we deeply cherish. Si Mon is a must-visit not just for the food, but for the story it tells—and the pride it shares with every plate.

Si! Mon is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in awhile! The service, to begin with, is amazing. All the servers were amazing but especially Saul, gave fantastic advice about the menu. Each and every dish and cocktail were carefully crafted to perfection. Our favorites were the tuna tostada, the fish collars, and the kanpachi in banana leaf. We cannot wait to come back!

I ordered the seafood plate and was impressed by how fresh and well-cooked everything was. The shrimp were plump, the fish flaky and tender, and the sides complemented the meal instead of overpowering it. House cocktails were balanced and not overly sweet, and service stayed friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The dining room was spotless with a relaxed, coastal vibe—nice for a casual date or family dinner. Prices felt fair for the quality. I’ll definitely return and recommend it to seafood lovers.

Came here on a birthday friendly date night recommend by my foodie girlfriend. First thing you'll notice is the ambiance, I loved it. Our service was excellent. Now, as a fine dinning chef myself we can get into the food. The dumplings in curry sauce, very nice! Baked Oysters, perfectly cooked, flavor profile, meh. Tuna Tostada, too small and under seasoned. Roast Pork, is so close to perfect. Cocnut rice was lovely as well. Drinks are creative and fun. Desserts were decent. The bad? Portion sizes are a joke. And it's likely you'll have to eat again, after already having eaten here. My thoughts? Overall, a fun experience, especially as our server was awesome and honestly made some good suggestions. The food is fun, well executed and very creative. The decore and over all ambiance is dope. My compliments to the chef for having balls enough to push elevated cuisine in new directions. 🤌

Great atmosphere! Dark and moody with a touch of Tattooine cantina vibes. love the decor. the food is good but portions are very small. The dumplings are tiny but delicious with the rice and coconut sauce. Loved the ceviche with plantains. drinks are top notch. try the Bananamericano! This place is PRICEY, but mostly worth it for a special occasion.

Though I enjoyed everything here, the two downsides would be 1. difficult parking and 2. a pinch overpriced. All plates we ordered were delicious but quite small / appetizer-sized… even the steak under “main courses”. 5 dumplings for $25 so $5 each… A little bit steep price-wise unless for special occasions. For two people we spent over $200 including cocktails. Everything tasted solid and service was really great!! Ambiance is nice and beachy.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere—lively, stylish, and clearly popular—but the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. The dumplings were a bit too chewy for my taste, and while the coconut rice was flavorful, it leaned more nutty than coconutty. The salad was good but nothing exceptional. The ceviche was fresh and enjoyable, and the drinks were well-made. Unfortunately, the chicken dish fell flat and the portion sizes overall felt pretty underwhelming.

The vibe is a 3, food is a 2.5, drinks are a 4 and service is a 2. The fried chicken wasn’t marinated, bland. The low lights and music were relaxing. The waiter didn’t ask if we wanted dessert, and I do understand it was a few minutes before closing however they could have recommended something. For the price, not really worth the hype.
