We were suggested to come to this restaurant after our show by the Gritti concierge as it was close by and would be open until later in the evening. After our show we walked passed many open restaurants to get to Do Forni and wondered why he had sent us here rather than one of the others. We soon found out! From the moment we arrived the entire staff welcomed us and provided exceptional service. The food was spectacular. I had the lobster linguine which was the best lobster dish I’ve ever eaten. Trattoria Do Forni That your hubby, your wife, partner, beastie, best or worst daughter or son, anniversary birthday special occasion, date night or treat yourself and by all means leave those kids at home. I empathize no children for this experience. Birthday dinner for Hubby at Trattoria Do Forni. He checked menus online to find what he wanted to eat. We spent so much time hopping from restaurant to restaurant it was tiring. This is fancy like no other restaurant we have been to. Attentive!! We had 5 waiters waiting on us, white and black coat. I am here for it!! This restaurant is an experience, for real. Come with your chips and dip (coins and money). They are a little pricey but OMG!! the food is scrumptious. I ordered the lamb chops, hubby got the lasagna. I did not get pictures sorry, by the time I remembered I was half way through and my plate was a mess. Trust and believe I don’t lie about my food. I am not recommending I am telling you to go! 5 stars across the board. Per person per entry 30 to 40 Euro. We had dessert. Coffee. I got a complimentary dessert. Strawberries and whip cream. Fresh🌺🌺🌺. Got a few pictures of food around me. Before I return home I want to say. You can spend Euros or American money. You can exchange or use your card. Most places take both but you came say Euro conversion which is better for you. I have a some Euro left from our other destination so I used the rest here for local shop. I don’t think you need to exchange unless you want to. Or use your card. Happy travels.

A real authentic dining experience with old world charm. The atmosphere was warm with low lighting and classic decor on the walls. Our table located in the larger dining area. The waiters bring food out to a service station in this area to do final plating, and what a show! You can’t help but crane over to see what other tables ordered to better choose your own dishes. The servers wear crisp suits and are efficient in taking orders and making wine recommendations. The food was quite good, especially the tagliolini with scampi and asparagus tips. Their speciality is seafood and for good reason.

Old world charm. Service evokes times of old where exquisite food is released from the kitchen in the preparation vessels then the servers prepare individual plates nearby at their service station prior to presenting the plates to your table. All the servers are male and have years and years of service. The food was very tasty and well worth the price. It is a true dining experience, be sure to try a dish from every course. We will return. We did not try the soufflé but it is something they are known for, we realized it too late.

Bel localino nel centro di Venezia a due passi da Piazza San Marco. Ci sono due salette pranzo, di cui una all'ingresso del primo locale e un'altra sul retro. Per accedere a quest'ultima si esce in strada e si entra in un locale diverso. Ieri abbiamo pranzato proprio in questa seconda saletta. Arredamento carino, tavoli strettini, appiccicati l'uno all'altro. Menù vario prevalentemente a base di pesce ma non manca la carne per chi la preferisce. Ho assaggiato il pacchero di Gragnano con tonno e melanzane. Davvero squisito, cottura al punto giusto e condimento top. Servizio impeccabile, le pietanze vengono divise in porzioni al tavolo e serviti al momento. Prezzi nella media di Venezia, un po' altini per i miei gusti. Personale di sala gentile e attento. Per terminare ci hanno servito della frutta e del panettone, oltre ai biscottini che accompagnavano il caffè. Niente male, tutto sommato ve lo consiglio.

Posto classico a Venezia per veneziani e non. Gestione completamente affidata ad un pool di camerieri pronti a servirti e raccontarti insieme i piatti e segreti della città; menù tipico del Veneto, ambiente caldo e molto vicino alla vita di casa, ottima selezione di vini. Forse un po’ rumoroso per già degli ambienti un po’ ridotti, ma essere a Venezia in quella posizione non ha prezzo.

Bellissima atmosfera, in un ristorante storico di Venezia. Ottimo servizio ma tavoli troppo ammassati l'uno sull'altro, i camerieri non riuscivano a prendere i piatti dal tavolo, dovevamo passarli noi. Buono il menù, preso: antipasto misto di pesce (6,5), bocconcini di coda di rospo (8,5), rombo al forno con patate (7,5), tiramisù (8). Il tutto bagnano da una bottiglia di Veuve Clicquot St. Petersburg (pagata 120€) e come digestivo due chicche: un porto Tawny W. & J. Graham's 20 Anni (20€) e un Armagnac Dupeyron del 1980 (45€), serviti con dei dolcetti offerti dalla casa. Il tutto pagato 350€. Un po' caro ma, visti vini e liquori, il prezzo può andare. Tutto sommato decisamente soddisfatti. Raccomando però di avere qualche tavolo in meno per un po' di comfort in più!

ristorante storico con fama di essere tra i migliori di Venezia posizionato nelle immediate vicinanze di piazza san marco. il locale consta di sue sale di cui una più piccola ed elegantemente arredata posizionata accanto all'ingresso e l'altra alla quale si accede attraverso un passaggio esterno, occupata da tavoli letteralmente appiccicati uno accanto all'altro e dove era stata assegnata la nostra prenotazione. il numero dei tavoli risponde alla logica del "più tavoli più soldi" ma qualifica inesorabilmente il ristorante come turistico. siamo state costrette a chiedere di essere spostate nella prima saletta per poter parlare senza urlare. il servizio è molto sbrigativo , il cibo passabile ma il conto di € 90,00 a testa è stato sproporzionato ( un secondo di carne, contorno acqua e sorbetto). il conto è maggiorato del 12% (!!) per il servizio . Esperienza negativa.

Table of 5 booked from Monaco Grand Canal Hotel concierge and they put us on 3 lsquare table so one guest was facing nothing . We ask for a round table and it took ages... Very unpleasant beginning. The rear was OK I guess. Great house pasta. But service was not fantastic. Also, very weird entrance with waiters coming in and out between two buildings and make you feel like you should not be there... But it is the entrance, no? I'm not used to apologise when I enter a restaurant, evenless so when I have a booking.

In fairness, we had already visited Florence and had the best meal in our lives at the Buca Mario. So this review may be a little jaded because they did not even come close to that experience. Wife wanted to eat here, apparently from reviews, so we ate here one evening right as they opened and were seated right away. We sat in the area right across from the cooking station and the fresh seafood station. Not the best location, noisy with the liters and cooks talking on the time, so no romance there. As far as the food goes, is was just a notch better that an excellent Italian restaurant back home. It was clear in the pasta that it was store bought and the amount of lobster was disappoint in the bowl, see photos. The lasagna was decent tasting, too much tomato in my opinion and overcooked. Same deal with the pasta, it tasted store bought. The Beef  with mushroom hunter sauce, too much gravy. The seafood plate had a very small portion of fish and too much sauce. We spent a good amount of money, over $150, for the meal. The service was also a little slow, maybe for us just opening. We do understand that it takes time to cook quality food, but once we were seated we felt no attention was given too us. Again, I think it was where we were seated. We would eat here again, but not before we try another restaurant there first. Thanks for reading.

Un ristorante storico che si è trasformato in un ristorante per turisti, ma d'altronde la posizione non gli ha consentito altro per sopravvivere. Prezzi molto alti assolutamente non giustificati dalla qualità del cibo. Sono presenti alcuni quadri relativi ad un premio di arte contemporanea evidentemente sospeso. Che peccato trasformare un posto così nel tempo! No lo raccomando e non ritorno. Anzi, invito i gestori a fare qualcosa per ridare un po' di dignità al ristorante. Questi posti mi fanno vergognare di Venezia.

Si tratta di una trattoria locale per turisti Dove è possibile mangiare sicuramente piatti costruiti in maniera molto sana, ma con dei prezzi ingiustificati. Abbiamo cenato in quattro con dei tavoli tutti attaccati con una sala gremita di persone al punto che era anche difficile alzarsi senza chiedere al vicino. Le foto pubblicate dal proprietario erano di sale diverse e più ampie. Appena ci siamo seduti abbiamo dovuto attendere circa 15 minuti per prendere l’ordine ma essendo una giornata molto affollata questo può essere comprensibile quello che non è comprensibile e l’elevato servizio che viene fatto pagare che non corrisponde a quello che viene fruito. Un menu non molto esteso senza possibilità di piatti fuori menu, come spesso molte trattorie effettuano. E quindi un ristorante esclusivamente per turisti in cui non torneremo.

NON CONSIGLIO! Ci avevano detto che era un ristorante costoso ma non che sarebbe stato un furto autorizzato! Locale carino all’entrata ma poi i clienti vengono messi in una stanza dove i tavoli sono tutti attaccati e c’è un caldo afoso. Il menù con prezzi troppo alti rispetto al piatto che arriva al tavolo, qualità prezzo pessimo! Presentazione del piatto basico, qualità media ma niente di che. Vino arrivato caldo. Ho un ristorante e quindi so benissimo valutare il costo del piatto rispetto al prezzo di vendita! Nemmeno fosse un ristorante stellato! Non ci ritorneremo più.. l’unica cosa positiva? La gentilezza del signore alla porta.

Unfortunately this restuarant is trading off its name. The service is rushed and chaotic. I expect a much higher standard for the prices charged. My food was cold ( grilled sole which was cold by the time it had been taken off the bone and put on a cold plate along with a heap of cold vegetables). Very, very over priced. There are much better options in Venice. I would avoid.

To be honest, the food was great, but we had a very unfortunate experience! The waiter and the management were very rude and offensive. Be careful when making orders. My husband ordered sea bass and the waiter assumed we were both having the same order, so they brought us a larger fish (we thought is was normal size) - and charged us double the price for it. And when we questioned them, they were extremely rude.

This place is as described by many. An expensive tourist trap with bad food and bad service. They try to make it look elegant but they can’t even make that happen. You know you are in for a scam…

Indecente. È l'unica parola che mi viene in mente dopo esserci stato mangiare, 186 euro per dei piatti a dir poco osceni che nemmeno la peggior bettola avrebbe il coraggio di servire. Lo shock degli antipasti è stato forte, piatti da 26 e 32 euro ciascuno: la mia tartara di tonno era una formina di tonno, 2 microscopiche erbe sopra, talmente poche che non si capiva che cosa fossero, non una goccia di olio nè altri aromi, accompagnato da 5 fettine di normalissimo pane da tost, a cui erano stati rifilati i bordi, bruciacchiate su un lato (allego foto), nemmeno cotte sull'altro, portate in un piatto avvolte da un tovagliolo come fossero le reliquie di san Gennaro.... quando ho aperto ho pensato di essere su scherzi parte. A mia moglie hanno servito la spuma di baccalà che in realtà erano 2 cucchiaiate di normalissimo baccalà mantecato che di spuma aveva ben poco e 3 cubetti di polenta (nemmeno croccante) messi in intorno, sembrava la composizione dell'asilo di un bambino di 3 anni. Di primo abbiamo preso tagliolini di pasta fresca con scampi e funghi porcini e linguine tintoretto con salsa all'astice, direi 2 paste senza infamia e senza lode (visto gli antipasti abbiamo avuto qualche dubbio sui funghi che sembrava non fossero porcini e sulla salsa di pomodoro della pasta all'astice che sembrava salsa di pomodoro da bottiglia.... Ma questi sono solo ipotesi). Il pane di portata anche questo portato in piatto e chiuso da un tovagliolo come se fosse caldo, erano 4 grissini e 4 paninetti pure duri e ovviamente freddi. Il vino unico prodotto non del locale è stata una buona bottiglia di Muller Thurgau da 40 euro. Piccolo inciso (perché sbirciavo nel tavolo dei vicini inglesi) il tiramisu che è stato portato loro era un tiramisù che niente aveva a che fare con il tiramisù in cialde della foto del menu del locale. Sicuramente da encomio è la carta dei vini, un corposo libro di vini da tutto il mondo dai 30 agli oltre 14000 euro.... Ma tutto il resto era da paura.... Per riassumere direi esperienza costosa e assolutamente da dimenticare, consiglio di investire i propri fondi in altri ristoranti...

This is really not what I remembered as it was one of my fav restaurants. Waiter serving you while having a fully blown flu, restaurant is full of flies and on the display of fish and Ossobuco so stiff it can be mistaken for a small tire. Fish quality was not that good neither. I felt sick to next day from the food. Really sad as I loved this restaurant for years.

Very disappointing experience. The overall atmosphere is what we expected; busy, close seating and high volume. Although there seemed to be an abundance of servers, there wasn’t any personal service. When we did place our order, we decided to skip the appetizer. We ordered lasagna, bolognese, and the veal Milanese (spilt to share). The portions were sufficient, however, the lasagna noodles were overcooked (mushy) flavor was decent, the Bolognese was the best part of the meal, but still nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the veal Milanese, which was extremely dry, no sauce (more like a schnitzel). Make sure you ask about cost if they mention something you do not see on the menu. The waiter suggested baby artichokes, it sounded like it was part of the dinner. However, the cost was an additional 20 euro. Not worth it at all- they were very small and bland.
