Opinions de Tony's Burrito Hut #2 Ventura
My wife and I came here the other morning to grab breakfast. It was a rainy day so it’s nice to come in and get a warm meal. Both got a breakfast burrito and I was really surprised at the size. The eggs were really good there’s potatoes in there there’s enough bacon in my opinion. The sauce on the side was good too. I’m not saying this is the best breakfast burrito that I ever had but this was a solid option here in Ventura.
Was in the area and wanted lunch, Tony’s Burrito Hut fulfilled my burrito craving, my meal was satisfying, tasty, had bits of crunchiness, I had a great experience here and would return, the staff there was friendly and kind. Also, I loved their two mild salsas with my food (red and green). ☺️👍🏻
I had thought they closed.downomg I'm super extacit... new and improved better then ever ... closer to my house and now they take.mobile pay with option to email receipt!! I love it all around!! Authentic food and clean!! Fabulous place for the whole family and now they serve burgers!!
Excellent service and great food.

Excellent service and great food.
I think I showed up technically when they were closed, but the owner was nice enough to let me in and make me my dinner himself. I’ve been going here for a while because I think the food is phenomenal. The customer service is also outstanding. I really appreciate him staying open just for me! Highly recommend Tony’s burrito hut.
Amazing breakfast burritos! My husband and I have tried many restaurants that serve breakfast burritos, and these are by far the most authentic and delicious in Ventura. Corrales used to be our go-to, but their quality isn’t what it used to be. The owners here at Tony’s are incredibly personable, and for the past seven months, we’ve been coming here regularly. Highly recommend!
I was at the aquatic center and needed tasty nutrition. A chorizo and egg burrito 🌯 😋 was delicious. I was introduced to the homemade flan. Oh Boy. I will be back. They have a 60 year old original side close by.

Prices are not displayed anywhere on their menus. That didn't sit well with me and am pretty sure that is against the law. Got a breakfast burrito for $12 which was decent but could have been so much better if the potato's were seasoned. The salsa was fresh but needed more flavor and heat.

Personally, I couldn't eat here. They cook everything in either a Soy shortening or with Corn oil. As I am very allergic to those things it was a "no go" for me. It did smell great when we went in. My friend ate there, and her meal looked delicious! They make everything there and it looked and smelled authentic. My friend loved it! I wished I could eat there. Word to the wise if anyone tells you it's a "vegetable shortening or oil" and you have allergies, dig a little deeper. My friend liked it, and it seemed to do a lot of business as we were sitting in the corner. They are masked.

Sorry to say, but Not as good as used to be. Corn burritos too large and not the usual crispy shell. Ordered a hot dog and got a basket of fries loaded with cheese. Hmmmm
They’re amazing, I live next door, literally, unfortunately they’re just never open Very inconsistent but if they’re open I’m going
Tasty Chile Verde burrito, but on the small side.

I ate there today, I had the corn burritos, they were not hot enough to melt the cheese and the beans were barely warm. I felt nauseous shortly after and ended up losing my lunch. I was surprised because I have always loved Tony’s corn burritos but these where not good
Sorry to leave a bad review, but this place has terrible “Mexican” food.

SubWay was packed so walked down to Tony's. Doing jury duty, on case for a month so looking for a new place other than around the courts. Ordered a burrito, the worst I've ever had. So light and skimpy, like all cheese, if there was any meat, I couldn't taste it. Should have known, it was 12:15 PM and the place was empty. Will stand in line at SubWay tomarrow.
Came in today to order some food. 2 customers in front of me and 2 behind me. All of them were dinning in except for me. My lunch's are short and require me to eat on the run. I place my order, payed for it ,and waited outside because the young boy behind the register stated that it would take a few minutes. I come back after 10 minutes and as I'm walking towards the boy behind the register I see that everyone has their food and so I assume that mine is ready as well. He asks my name then turns to grab a bag and opens the cooler and asks what I would like to drink....at this point I'm getting suspicious because I never ordered a drink ,nor payed for one. I remind him of that fact and he sets the bag of someone else's food down and goes back to the kitchen to talk to the cook. So I am now thinking that "ok" he forgot my order or gave it to someone else..no big deal I can wait for a couple tacos,, after standing there well past my expired lunch break the boy walks back out and asks me if I ordered "Carne asada" I couldn't believe my ears."What kind of meat have you been cooking", I thought. I just went back to work with no food and no time for refund. I checked my account a few times to see if they had the decency to refund me but have not. I thought of driving back there after work to dispute my charge and decided that I would rather they keep that money in hopes of hiring some quality people that have some integrity and morals. Fool me once, I won't be back
Food was SAD. I grew up with the original, so I thought I'd give the new spot a try with the family. Bad idea. Everyone was disappointed, even the kids. Tony's is clearly cutting corners on everything. Came for the corn burritos, that was the first disappointment. No sauce. Do those even count as corn burritos? Speaking of sauce, the salsa was the worst we've ever had, anywhere. I'm used to weak watered-down salsas from cheap spots, but Tony's is by far the worst. It seems like they add a gallon of water to a cup of already-tasteless salsa. I'm still in disbelief. I ordered off the "specials" menu, a chile relleno burrito and a beef burrito for the kids, taquitos and corn burritos. The relleno burrito was much smaller than the "small" kids burrito for almost twice the price. The relleno itself was so small it was hard to find. I had to ask if they got the order right because it was hiding under some rice and pork. Pork!? Apparently their chile relleno burrito is mostly chile verde. That would have been a huge issue for vegetarians, they make no mention of it on the menu. Who has ever heard of a chile relleno burrito coming with chile verde (cheapest meat on the menu)? Very strange choice, misleading as hell. Everything fried tasted horrible, they must have been using very old, stale oil. The chicken used in the taquitos was very dry, and they were almost hallow. The "guacamole" was mostly sour cream or some type of dairy, it was white. Couldn't even taste the avocado at all. Beans were bland, but ok. Seems like they came out of a can. Also very watered-down. I will say one thing, they were generous with the cheese on the corn burritos. Probably to make up for lack of flavor and sauce. It wasn't melted at all tho. All in all, the worst mexican food I've ever had in Ventura, by far. And I've pretty much had it all. Will never try again.
In April 2020, I visited Tony's and the owner told me times were tough and he couldn't honor the Axxess buy one get one deal, but if i would agree to let him scan it he would give me 20% off. I like to support small businesses and agreed, especially since the COVID restrictions were just starting then, so I did feel bad for them. Today, January 2021, I saw they were still in the new app for 2021 with the buy one get one deal, so I stopped in. The guy at the counter told me that they canceled their Axxess affiliation last year and wanted to make sure I was looking at the 2021 app, which I was. He offered me 10% off for coming in, but at this point I didnt know what or who to believe - as he still has the Axxess sticker in the window of the business. So, I politetly refused and left without a purchase. I contacted Axxess and they said Tony's didn't cancel their advertising with them last year and they continued their advertising in 2021. Based on that and the previous reviews here where others fell to the same dishonesty, it looks like Tony's is doing the bait and switch by continuing to advertise a deal and then not honoring it and hoping that people will still patronize them. Axxess is willing to remove them if Tony's tells them to.
Not happy with the meat, too crunchy. We all know how asada is prepared and over cooked is not it. Its like it was heated up again and burned. First and last time here
Used to be really great at first, but the last 2 carne asada burritos I had was very skimpy on the meat and what little there was was mostly gristle and fat. So sad
Ordinarily don’t hate on places but this place Sucks! Food is mediocre and they have an option for small or large burritos. I ordered the large one for $4 more and it was less than half the size I was expecting and was still hungry after eating it. No flavor minuscule portions and almost 20 bucks. Not recommended.
