I miss this place already. Amazing food and charming service. I recommend getting some of the kimchi to take home. Best Korean food I’ve had in a long time (and I used to live near Korea town in NYC)
Definitely not a busy place so only one server but he was super nice! The food was amazing!!! I love trying new things and I can’t wait to go back!
Loved the place. Excellent customer service. I was with my two and half year old son. Let’s say he wasn’t in best of the mood. The family went above and beyond to help me calm him down. For those who say that the owner was rude, I would say he wasn’t. Being from South Asia myself, I know for a fact that this is just the way some of us talk. I would give them 10 on 10 for food and customer service
Excellent authentic Korean food. People leaving reviews about the server are just mad they aren’t pampered like princesses but the food and owners are a step above any other Korean food i’ve had in America.
Food was excellent and came out quickly. Very flavorful with perfect-sized portions. I was afraid based on the reviews that our waiter would yell at us but the gentleman who served us could not have been more pleasant. Definitely go to help a small business while having a great meal.
A phenomenal restaurant tucked away on the Vestal parkway. The staff was very friendly and courteous. It was my first time experiencing Korean cuisine and boy did the leave a great impression. I ordered the ribs and they arrived sizzling and peeled right off the bone.
Great food and great service! It was my first time trying Korean food and it was amazing! The restaurant has a family feel to it. The chef once came to our table to personally explain a dish to us! And they offer a variety of Korean drinks as well! The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. This is a new favorite for my friends and I!
Hi, We were on our way back home to Paris, ON from New York and thought of getting into some Korean restaurant on the way. Based on the good reviews we got into the place and I will not regret it at all. Authentic Korean culture customer service and food was excellent! I will definitely go there again. Thanks.
Wonderful, relaxing experience, didn't feel rushed and the owners were very kind. The food was very filling and flavorful.
I’ve driven by this restaurant for years and always wanted to try it, and finally went for it! We got a seafood scallion pancake that was delicious, udon soup which had incredibly rich and flavorful broth, and kimchi stew that was the perfect spice level. Their kimchi is one of the best we’ve had. Highly recommend for something different in the area!
Let me preface this by pointing out a few things typical Americans won't understand when they come here. 1) This restaurant is just a husband/wife team, not a 10+ man crew. 2) The husband, who manages front of house, isn't perfectly fluent in English. How he interacts or tries to explain things to customers may come off as harsh. It's not a matter of him being angry or anything. I can only imagine how stressed he is with his limited English and customers who don't seem to understand that limitation at all. It's an easy thing to take for granted when people go out to eat. Anyway, my experience here was great. I came around 4:30 PM before any major dinner rush. First, the owner brought out some Korean pickled samples of cucumber, bean sprouts, some root vegetable (daikon radish?), and kimchi. All of it tasted good. None of it was overly spicy. The bubble tea is fantastic too. For an appetizer, we ordered the shumai. It was warm, soft, and packed full of flavor. For dinner, we had yaki udon with shrimp and bul go ki. All of it was terrific. Perfectly balance of salty, sweet, and meaty. When we were done, we just paid at the front counter, unlike most restaurants that just bring you a check. There's only the owner running front of house, so it makes sense. I recommend this place a lot to anyone who wants tasty Korean food. However, bring your best manners with you and adjust your expectations for their situation.
Good portions, awesome service. Forgot to take a picture before I started devouring Kalbi (marinated and grilled ribs) and side dishes. Kalbi is amazing and always recommend to people who like ribs and are trying Kbbq for the first time.
Absolutely the best Korean food I have had in a long time. Will be returning regularly for the Bi Bim Bap. Everyone in my group found everything to be delicious. The man who waited on us was very kind and helpful. I see some reviews saying otherwise, all I can say is that some people expect to be treated with dignity and respect, and they should be. It's not a lot to ask for, especially for such a delicious meal.
as long as you can get in, it's the best korean food!!! The owner doesn't speak English much, so the way he talks might be mean, but he is a super nice guy. He always gives my son free organce juice since he knows he loves it ( we must come so many times indeed). Food is delicious! Im from Houston, and tried many Korean dishes, this is one of the best! highly recommend!
my friends and i have eaten here many times because we are nearby bing students. i've seen many reviews talking about the owner and yes he is a bit cranky at times but he's a good guy. he has a set of rules that you need to follow: 1) sit at the waiting room (which is right at the entrance and labeled) as soon as you walk in and wait to be seated by him, 2) you have to order an entree, they won't serve you if you just order an appetizer (which is understandable), 3) pay at the counter after you're done with the meal. i personally think these "rules" are basic and isn't difficult to follow, they're a small family business and most of the time it's only him and his wife in the kitchen & front (sometimes only him!), that's why sometimes he will turn away bigger parties. the food is amazing with a lot of banchan (side dishes). overall if you treat the owners with respect and kindness he will give the same energy back! we've never ran into any problems with him.
The atmosphere of this local restaurant is nothing short of eating in your own dining room at home. It's so welcoming inside, and there are chairs to wait in while you get seated. Jason helped seat us and took our order. He apologized for the wait because it was just him there! I ordered the hot Wild Blackberry tea, and my partner got the Terra beer. Both were great, and the tea was especially tasty even without sugar. The little appetizers he brought out were so good! There were crunchy chilled greenbeans in a light sauce (my favorite), seaweed salad(?) with shredded carrots in a light mayo(?) sauce, battered and fried pumpkin slices, and pickled cabbage (so good!). For an appetizer, I ordered the Takoyaki because they're just amazing, and theirs didn't disappoint! Then, for entrees, I got the Yaki Udon with shrimp, and my partner got the Den Jang Chige. Mine was absolutely delicious, and the shrimp was such a great addition. The amount of sauce was perfectly in the middle, so I never felt like it was too dry or like I was eating spaghetti. Plus, it was delicious. The Den Jang Chige blew us away. The broth was phenomenal, and the seafood mixture (clams, shrimp, and little bits of squid(?)) had such great flavor. An absolute must to try if you're in the mood for something with broth. Plus, it comes with rice. But it's so filling with the vegetables, seafood, and tofu, so you almost don't need it except for preference. For dessert, I got the sweet rice cake with the classic red bean filling out of the fridge to go. Support a local business and eat here!
This is easily one of Bing's best hidden gems when it comes to food. I've never had a dish here that didn't rock my world. The server of this mom and pop Korean restaurant is always so cheery and the appetizers they give you are usually a bit different but they always hit home! I recommend this place to everyone
I went here for the first time today and it was AMAZING! I’ve gone past a few times and have wanted to stop. I like to try new foods and broaden my food horizons and I couldn’t have asked for better food. Everything was so delicious and very reasonably priced. I can’t wait to come back and bring my dad and go for a date night with my boyfriend. Highly recommend for the quality of the food and ingredients and how nice the staff is especially with it being my first time! I wish I got pictures of my food to post with my review!
I came to eat here a couple weeks ago with my boyfriend. The owner uncle is so nice he sounds loud a little bit but he is so nice. He even gave us a bag of chip before we leave. He even warmly thanked us for coming to there.
The food was great and staff was friendly and upfront about the possibility of a longer wait time. Although everything came out as quick as usual, fresh and hot. Even if you're unfamiliar with the menu items it's hard to go wrong since everything is delicious. They also have a bunch of soju flavors!
Owner was a little apprehensive as he's been getting groups of customers who only orders one item and then spends hours just chatting there, taking up what little indoor dining space he has since he doesn't have any outdoor dining space. However, the food is great and after finding out that we were from NYC, he apologized that the food isn't as good as the Korean restaurants there. Which is ridiculous. The food was great. Just as good as any Korean restaurant I've been to in NYC. Support the local mom and pop stores in your neighborhood people!
It's an institution. As a client, just shut up, trust the guy and you'll have an awesomely good meal. I'd go back any time I'm in Binghamton.
Very tasty Korean food, but due to the fact it is a family owned business beware of long wait times for food as there is only one person cooking, however well worth the wait.
I've been here a few times, and it's the same recipe each time. The nice gentleman serving the food and some ones 어머니 in The kitchen whipping up some major work. The food is top-notch and the most diversified in the area. It's very clean, albeit a little diner-esque. But I'm here to tell you if you have not been go now you will not be dissappointed. You may have to wait a minute or two for the food, which they are always super upfront about but it is worth every moment.
If you want an authentic Korean experience, look no further. Owner is very social but very blunt so just be polite and play by the rules. Food is absolutely amazing and comes out piping hot. If you are looking for a new experience then this is the place
Amazing food great portions for the price the owner was supper supper nice and helpful as this was my second time and my friends first
My bulgogi and appetizers were delicious! Vibe of the place is great I’ll definitely be back
I've driven by this place so many times, finally stopped in yesterday with a friend and our two young kids (@2). This place was amazing. The service was so friendly, they brought a puzzle over for the kids to play with whole we decided on what to get. Both the udon noodle dish (for the kids) and the rice noodle broth dish we got we're p possibly the best thing I've eaten in a ridiculously long time. And the Kim Chee.... Oh man. Oh and definitely the best miso soup around! I can't wait to go back! Do not ship by this place. And the people were so very sweet.
Amazing place, I would eat every meal here if I could. The owner is the coolest man ever, he presents himself with such swagger that you can't help but listen to him. He's a man who stands his ground, which I respect, and does not tolerate any funny business. Anybody who says he is rude can grow a spine because the world does not revolve around special little snowflakes. 10/10, will always recommend.
Myself and my three friends got dinner here the other night and it was amazinggggg! We shared the Dub Bok Ki and I had the vegetable Bim Bap, both incredible. Actually put the sauce from the Dub Bok Ki on my dish which was a home run and I honestly have enough food for 3 meals. It’s just the owner running front of house and his wife preparing meals. He was lovely to us and we had a great time.
The food is truly delicious. I love the seafood pancakes (appetizer) and the bulgogi (beef bbq). They also sell their own kimchi. Best korean in town and one of our favorite restaurants overall! Don't worry about the reviews saying that they are rude, it's not true, they are very nice and welcoming to you, if you are nice and not entitled to them. We'll be back as often as possible!
All the reviews are spot on! Food is AMAZING! Service- well he takes his time, pays attention to one table at a time and gets flustered when busy but as long as you know this going in - the foods well worth it!!
My fiancé and I always drive by this restaurant and we finally decided to dine in! We regret not eating here sooner! Though it was not crowded, it took awhile for us to be seated, but we waited patiently for the person to escort us to our table - manners is key. If you’re not used to a small mom-and-pop kind of restaurant, then eating here will be a strange experience - but in a good way. The owner who took our order was pleasantly nice. I was a tad nervous due to the negative reviews here. He was polite with his deep loud voice, may sound scary to those who are not used to it, but he means well. The food was delicious! We didn’t expect the scallion pancake to be massive! Con: at the time, they were only accepting cash. So, come prepared. We didn’t know, so we had to find an ATM around. Overall, we will definitely visit again!
My first time trying this place. It was a weekday and just after 3pm. Walked in, and immediately was seated. My server was more than helpful. He asked me if i have tried Korean food before and then recommended few options. He also brough out small appetizers and explained them to me. Hand Sanitizer on each table. Cute and friendly place. Will come back and try more dishes. Those fried mandu were the best.
My family and I love it here! The food is incredible! The hard work and passion in this restaurant is very inspiring and we will absolutely be back! 귀하의 헌신에 진심으로 감사드립니다!
As you walk into the waiting area, you see an authentic Korean selection of drinks including artisinal alcoholic beverages, if that is your sort of thing. When you get seated, you are met with a tremendous amount of kindness and respect. With a very cozy atmosphere and quietness during your dining experience. The food is carted out, one by one, appetizers, then entrees. I enjoyed the seaweed salad and nabe udon with a Thai bubble tea, among other things. I was humbled by the lovely addition of bean sprouts with a sprinkle of sesame oil, Kimchi, and a few slices of tempura veggies. I must say, the food is well worth every single penny spent. I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking to have a delicious meal, a meal of such quality a person may not expect in this region.
This used to be my comfort food spot when I went to uni in Bing. If I had a hangover, if I was stressed about exams, if I was depressed over the weather, this place would always be my first option. I have since graduated and come back home and to this day, I compare places in NYC and NJ to this place. The food feels homey, tastes fresh, and looks amazing. It is one man running the place with his wife doing most of the cooking in the kitchen. Despite this, the food never took long and never tasted rushed. I hope that I get to return soon.
Wonderful gem of a Korean restaurant and no wonder it's been in business so long! Food is fantastic! Exactly as authentic and tasty as every family Korean place we have ever been to. Definitely will be back!
We stopped here for dinner not knowing a lot about Korean food and we had an amazing experience. The food was all excellent and the service was friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back!
Christmas Eve and the owner was by himself, the food was brought quick and was super delicious. I had Soju for a drink and was authentically great. I brought my Son-in-Law and 3 year old grandson here. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and were so thankful we could get excellent Korean food on Christmas eve even later in the evening. Justin said that this was his first time eating Korean food and he felt like eating it was adding years to his life.
This is a small Oma/Opa run place. Reminds me of my time in the Army in South Korea. This is no frills, small place with great Korean Comfot food, especially on a cold upstate night. Kimchee Jigae and Yakimandu….. perfect cold weather food. Just remember there are 2 people running the place including the cooking.
This place is awesome. The food is great. I really enjoy eating here every single time I go. I see some reviews on here where people complain about the spice level and the service. People need to remember that there are only two people working the whole restaurant. Also if you come in expecting to get the western white people treatment where you expect to substitute everything for everything you'd best get that idea right out of your head. That is an extremely rude thing to do in Korea, and going into this place is lik stepping into a tiny slice of Korea. So if you want a truly authentic experience this is your place. If you want American food with a slight hint of flavor go to Panada Express or something.
The food is some of the best in Binghamton, and it’s a treat for me to come here after classes with my friends. It’s super cozy, and some people complain about the owner being rude, but he’s always been very decent and I appreciate the straightforward service. The yuk gae jang is super yum, and it’s family-owned so I will always choose to eat here rather than a chain. Support Mannam!
Beyond worth the price and wait. It was a lot of fresh food for only about 17$. You could tell it was a family owned establishment and many students take advantage. It was a busy Friday around dinner time and staff was friendly. Of course I had to wait a bit for my order to be taken but food didn’t take long at all. The meal was filling and a great portion. I will definitely be back!
"Amazing Korean Food!" I visited this restaurant recently and the experience was fantastic. The kimchi was fresh and full of flavor, and the bulgogi was tender and perfectly seasoned. The staff were kind and attentive, and the atmosphere felt warm and authentic. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend if you’re looking for real Korean comfort food!
The restaurant is completely run by a man and his wife, who cooks all the meals. All of the menu items are delicious and the family who runs the restaurant is extremely kind- one of my favorite spots in the Vestal/Bing area. Even though there is only one chef, the wait time for food is quite short. It is important to be considerate of the rules at this restaurant- no more than 5 people can be seated at a table; no outside food and drink; etc. Although some reviews paint the owner in a negative light, don’t let this deter you from this local gem!
My third time coming here and the food is always impeccable. They were kind and welcoming to us, we ended up being the only ones eating there last night around 8pm. The flavors and extra little dishes they brought us to try made it a wonderful experience! I can’t wait to get more dukboki. I only got a photo after we were all done, it smelled so good we dove right into it
the owner was very sweet, they were understaffed but sat us quickly. he was very polite and straight to the point. to all the people going there, please be aware this is not a CUSTOM American restaurant. if the menu does not have it, they cannot make that alteration for you. for dietary restrictions I suggest finding something you CAN eat on the menu without attempting to substitute. the food was fresh, authentic and delicious. portion sizes were huge for the price!
Don’t let the other reviews about the service deter you from here. There’s signs plastered everywhere saying they are short staffed and to be patient. There’s only two people working the whole place and it’s the husband and wife. I have been there twice now and both times the service was fine. Be respectful and they will be respectful back. If there are other people ordering food before you come in, they will make their food first and then when the food comes out they take your order so be patient. The food is actually incredible and it is SO homey. The best authentic Korean food you will get here in the 607. Give it a chance!
We were visiting from out of town and stopped by Man Nam for dinner and we’re so glad we did! The food was absolutely amazing, full of authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the cook/waiter, who we believe is also the owner. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and had a great sense of humor that made us feel right at home. If we ever find ourselves back in Vestal, we’ll definitely be coming here again. Highly recommend!
Truly incredible food and it came out so fast and piping hot. We highly recommend the fried mandu, takoyaki, bi bim bap, and kim chi chige. Also very vegetarian friendly and clearly knew how to accommodate vegans. The owner was so kind and welcoming! I hope this place stays around for a long time; we will be back often.
THE BEST KOREAN RESTAURANT IN TOWN. I have been here many times. The food was deliciousssss and the price is not too expensive. I have read some negative comments about the owners but I think everyone should understand that they only have two people who work here. His wife cooks and he serves the guests. So if you want to get their service you need to be patient and polite to the owner. I came late today, but he still took us and just let us enjoy the dinner and he said he don't want us to be rushed. Very appreciate that. Worth the wait. 10/10 recommend 👍
I dined in recently for the first time and I liked the atmosphere is was calming and I loved the music they played there. The prices were high, but the food portions were great. The food was delicious and served hot. 👍
One weekend, I came with family and so it was a party of 4. Which apparently seems to be the maximum amount of people he allowed in. This restaurant seems to be a one man show every time I come, there's only one man doing everything. He's cooking, serving, etc. When we got there, he told us he can't do big parties but calmed down when I said it was just us four. We were holding empty cups from having bought coffee at a gas station and then he yelled at us no outside drinks. I told them these cups were empty and just garbage and he calmed down instead. While we were looking at the menu, i asked about the lunch specials, not realizing they were only for weekdays. He listed all the Chinese restaurants that we could go to instead. It gives us the impression that he really didn't want to serve us at all and to just eat somewhere else. He comes off as very rude and I can see why there are so many 1 star reviews. While we waited for our food, we watched him turn down a large party. I saw a 1-star review complaining about this, and believe me.. it was awkward for us watching you guys get turned down. It took a long time to get our food, but it made sense since there's only one cook. At least the food tasted very very good. I hope he can hire more staff to make this place run more efficiently so he can be less stressed, and hopefully less rude. Because the food is actually good! I really like Korean food so, please. Hire more staff. Otherwise you're going to go bankrupt
As a Korean American, I was quite excited to have some Korean food near me to fulfill my cravings for homemade food. I mainly order the bulgogi, galbi, and kimchi stew, and all were quite delicious. I also loved the jjamppong. Nothing was too spicy here for anyone bad with spice, and every mouthful was flavorful. Even the side dishes tasted great. Some dishes lacked a certain Korean taste, but still tasted delicious. However, prices are higher than Korean restaurants that I am used to where I am from. The service was okay. Since it is mainly just the owner running the restaurant, it takes a while for food to arrive, but that is understandable. The owner is very nice and is a hard worker, trying to seat everyone and get their orders ASAP. The appearance reminds me of an actual Korean restaurant, with the soju and K-pop posters to make it more Korean (haha). Overall, good experience. Would definitely come back for more!
TL;DR- Great food, limited tables, irritable server. Order takeout to skip the wait + service! Place was lovely, food was delightful! As others have mentioned though they are severely understaffed + the place is only so big so there's not a ton of tables. I waited about 10-20 minutes to be seated. There was only one server, and he was obv very stressed, but I would be too if I were serving a whole restaurant by myself! I decided to order my food to-go just to ease the stress 😅 Every other reviewer has already mentioned the server though, so I'll just say: I definitely recommend the food. I ordered the Bim Bap (Entree #1) and it was delish! If you decide on this place, I suggest you order takeout or delivery! If you come to dine in though, expect a wait time and blunt service.
My husband and 10 month old have been here twice. The food is absolutely fenomenal!! 5 out of 5 for the food. I have had something different each time and have yet to be disappointed. The portions are also perfect. I always have enough for leftovers the next day. Absolutely a hidden 💎! The service is a bit rough around the edges. There is only one server, and he seems to always be angry (I guess I would be too if I was the only server). The hours are very limited as well as seating. They've had to turn large parties away.
Listen- the food is fantastic. It is pricey but very good and lots of options and you're supporting local. The problem is the service/unwritten policies and lectures my group and other patrons receive every time we go here. I understand there is a big cultural difference and the owner/waiter is not originally from the US. We've taken family here and warned them beforehand so we can try to respect what the owner prefers, because it is great food and we want to support a family owned business. However, the food is not worth it anymore- when you are refused to be allowed to order the appetizer you have been craving for days and instead receive a lecture on how they are family owned and would lose money if people only ordered appetizers (the appetizer being $15 and the entree $16) and then sit uncomfortably for your entire meal eating the entree you were required to order without receiving the appetizer you wanted originally. We won't be back, most likely, but if try them out: some things you need to know before you go- don't even think about making a substitution/modification you will get a 5 minute lecture about how Americans are always trying to do this and the restaurant will not change anything. You cannot just order an appetizer only (even if it is the same price as an entree) and even if everyone else is ordering entrees. You can't be seated unless your entire party is there (even if all the tables are empty). Tread lightly- it seems there are new 'rules' every time we go. Maybe we will try take-out and hope for the best. Also- 'Chicken' is a trigger word my poor SIL learned as well. Some other reviewers have mentioned this as well.
Go here if you want to be insulted. The owner's mental health I think is declining and the restaurant has slowly been downsizing from what it used to be. He is blatantly rude to all customers, even his staff when he used to have them. It's the only Korean place in town so I used to tolerate his nonsense which was not so bad when ordering to go but when my friends and I tried to dine in recently, he saw we had 2 kids and yelled "No no no" in front of his mostly empty restaurant. I asked his why no, he said it will be busy later and came up w more nonsense excuse. Basically I think he did not wanted to wait on kids who may not order a full course meal, despite me always ordering extra meals. I left after telling him he was crazy. I am asian myself so am familiar with our elders lack of manners at time but he is just plain rude. The food isn't even that great and is overpriced. I rather travel then eat from here.
Showed up with a party of 6 at 515pm. Was greated upon entry with shouts that are party was too big and we had to go. There was not a single other customer in the restaurant! Despite the horrible service, I have been to Man Nam's before and think that the food is out of this world delicious.
Tried to dine in and left without receiving any food, so I cannot comment on that. All of the reviews regarding the rude owner are surprisingly accurate. My girlfriend and I wanted to try a new place, and we saw Man Nam off of Vestal Parkway. Our experience began by being lectured that we walked past the “waiting room” and that there is only one person working there. Before seating us, he made sure to point out the sign. The issue is, that area just looks completely empty. So, we walked past the “waiting room” towards the counter where the owner was. Next, after we were sat down we waited approximately 15 minutes to order. When he came to take our orders, my girlfriend asked him to remove an allergen that was in the dish she was ordering. Upon learning that she was allergic to anything, he became upset that she was allergic to anything. Needless to say, we left. I am glad that we did not waste our money there, and I am surprised that they are still in business.
Horrible service and arrogant owner. The owner belittles you when you make an honest and minor mistake in ordering and got confused with the name of the dishes. He got upset because he had to do the “extra work” of changing the order in the system and the customer confused and inconvenienced him. The worst part was the food wasn’t even made! He got upset within 10 seconds of you trying to change the order because of an honest confusion. The restaurant business is all about providing good food and good service. Clearly, he does not care about making people feel welcomed. After sharing the unnecessary experience with some friends, they also agreed that they have also been the recipient of the owner’s condescending tone. This was completely avoidable and no customer should ever be made to feel small simply because they mispronounced the name of the dishes and inconvenienced the owner.
We entered the facility and did not see the sign for the waiting room. The server immediately was rude and told us we had to wait in the waiting area. He then skipped over us and sat 2 other people to their table first. As we looked over the menu, and asked to share one dish. He stated no service and cannot place one order to share. This was very rude and we left on our own. I would give this place no stars if I could.
The food was decent, but the treatment from the chef (maybe owner?) was pretty bad. We came in with at least more than an hour before closing, but we were constantly rushed to finish our food as if they restaurant was already closed. We were also not allowed to share our food or buy only sides. Half of our party left without eating any food because they weren't allowed to order anything less than a full meal. The chef also came out to yell at our table more than once for no reason at all. We didn't even provoke him or say anything to trigger it, he just kind of came out and started yelling. Very poor treatment on behalf of the chef. The rest of the staff seemed pretty scared of him and just kind of listened to what he had to say. The rest of the staff was decent in service.
Ordered kimchi off the menu the OWNER stated “you’re not special, you’re not family, this is for my family only.” I really thought he was joking but turns out he wasn’t. Keep the food for you and your family. Huge disappointment. I’ve ate here many years ago and it was very good and they were very respectful. This was not the case this time. And to the disrespect owner maybe you should find a different career and maybe learn how to respect your customers, you know the customers that are paying your bills?! Food for thought.
We walked in and the owner was so unbelievably rude. He shouted at us for no reason and implied we were stupid? We didn’t even end up eating and left. THE WORST.
Stop!! Do not go with a family of 5+. My husband and I walked in with our kids- totaling 6 and we were told they would not serve a party this size. There was one other table occupied with a party of 2 at the time as it was 2:40pm. He said he would accommodate a family of 5 but not 6. We asked to split the tables with an adult at each and he said no, we can not do that. I’ve never met a business that hasn’t advertised what they can’t accommodate. Maybe put a header on your website and front door. Needless to say, they lost my current and future business.
If I am allowed to give negative scores, I will give -5. My husband and I just moved here and wanna have some Asian food. We ordered the food and everything seems smooth. Until the owner see my small pack of cookies on the desk, this person started to lecture us outside food is not allowed. I replied we understand, but I am starving so I just had a bite of the cookie.(God, I just finished teaching three class in a row and wanted to treat myself for som food that my stomach likes). But after this first argument, he came back and said if we don’t like we can leave. And he finished his sentence by saying “Go!” How can a mankind be such rude and disrespectful!
I used to love this place and it used to be so welcoming but recently the owner or whoever that old man is has been so rude. I was just in there with my boyfriend and my cousin and that old man said “no sale, bye bye” because my boyfriend didn’t order an entree? He didn’t even give us a chance to change our orders or even process him telling us we had to order an entree each. If that’s really a policy, put up signs.
Owner is extremely rude. My partner and I went there for dinner on a Monday and were one of two tables in the restaurant. I wasn't that hungry so we ordered an entree, appetizer, and tea. Owner had a hissy fit and said we had to order two entrees even though I wasn't hungry. His rule is no sharing. So we had to get it to go and my partner had to eat in the car. I asked the owner his reasoning and he said it's too expensive, take out is cheaper? I don't understand as it's not like we were holding up other people wanting to sit, and because of his bizarre rule he actually missed out on service tip ($8?) so he ended up losing money? Just so weird and extremely rude. Don't understand running your business that way. We go there regularly and order more food but this is what happens when Im not that hungry, so definitely won't be returning.
Owner very rude, he shouted at my family at the door saying that he can’t serve us as he was busy or some other reason either way was very disrespectful ! If you are truing to have a good time with friends or family avoid this place.
When I first walked in the owner who approached us was quite rude .. actually very rude we were waiting to be seated btw the places wasn’t busy just two more customers so they had plenty of spaces. He approached not speaking English and we said table for two. So he looked at us and just left so we thought he said take your own seat… so we went to get a seat and he yelled at my husband… saying not to sit there and my husband asked nicely if we could sit at this booth being it was more secluded.. and the owner yelled at us say No!!! You just sit at this chair!!!! And than he yelled again saying “ I said to wait!!!”” The other people in the restaurant looked at us in amazement of how poorly we were treated… so I didn’t feel comfortable being there anymore.. so me and my husband left… I was so upset.. never been treated so bad.. he is rude and inconsiderate and the place isn’t even that well clean!!! Now I understand why it’s always empty and have no business. I don’t suggest anyone going there!!!
I was thrilled to discover a Korean BBQ restaurant nearby after recently moving to the area, as it's my absolute favorite cuisine. Unfortunately, despite the food being delicious, I won't be returning due to the appalling customer service. The owner/server was not only incredibly rude to our table but also to nearly every other table in the restaurant. I witnessed other diners leave before even ordering, driven away by his shockingly condescending and hostile behavior. He responded to basic questions about the menu with unwarranted aggression, often yelling and ridiculing customers. At our table, he raised his voice multiple times, which left me disgusted and uncomfortable. Disturbingly, he seemed to reserve his courtesy only for Asian diners, making it blatantly clear that American customers were not welcome. As a person of color, not feeling welcome in certain environments was no shock to me, but in this environment it was very clear who was welcome and not. It was beyond uncomfortable. My husband and I are no stranger to Asian culture or travel, we have nothing but the upmost respect, appreciation, and enthusiasm…it’s sad the respect was not mutual. It's a shame because the food was outstanding, but no meal is worth enduring such disrespectful treatment. Sadly, this restaurant won't be getting my business again.
The old man was really rude when we walked in. I simply asked if I could see the menu, and he snapped at us, saying something like, ‘First four people get seated—I don’t care if you waited an hour or however long,’ though it wasn’t said very clearly. Then when my sister tried to ask for the menu, he just walked away without saying anything.
As you enter the restaurant the tables and chairs were stacked up like they were closed. Plenty of signs say shortage of staff. Waited to be seated was 10 minutes. The waiter/ looked as he was the owner., was very rude. I started to order a seafood soup. Then asked to order some bbq. The waiter was so overwhelmed he couldn’t understand that I wanted two dish for myself. He started to raise his voice for no reason. I was with two other people. We looked at. Each other and walked out. We drove to Texas Roadhouse and had better experience there.
Went in with my daughter and her boyfriend looking forward to having both appetizers and a main course. Asked one question about if one of the appetizers that we were going to order was vegetarian . The owner ( I presume) began to berate the three of us telling us what we could or could not order & walked away with out taking our order. We obviously immediately got up and left . It blows my mind that a business would treat a customer like that and expect to stay in business. I don’t care how good the food may be , it’s not a place anyone should support. Surprised they’re still in business.
This was hands down the rudest dining experience I have ever had. Our group came ready to spend. We ordered appetizers, drinks, entrées, and even takeout for family at home. The bill was already on track to be over $100. Because one person in our party only wanted plain rice and tea, the owner actually yelled at us and told us to leave. Yes, we were kicked out because one guest didn’t want a giant meal. Restaurants are supposed to welcome customers, not scream at them. This was unprofessional, insulting, and completely outrageous. Treating paying customers like this is beyond unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.
Finally writing a review about our service here. The owner was rude as all get out. That in of itself made the food horrible. We will never return or recommend this place. Your service is definitely depends on the owners mood. No thank you.
We really wanted to go to this place for a long time, and unfortunately it was such a disappointment. The owner was extremely rude regarding basic questions, he was screaming out load, so i ended up with high blood pressure. Ive been to Korean places all around the world, I love Korean culture and cuisine and I think this is such a bad representation.
If I could give no stars I would. Absolutely the most disgusting food we have had in a very long time. The worst part is we paid full price for meals we both ate about 3 small bites of in attempt to stomach it and give a valid try. $16.99 for one bowl of dirty sock boiled seafood medley soup (#1 on the noodle page). The "seafood" in it was fake crab pieces, a whole muscle or two, and one piece of shrimp. The noodles weren't cooked all the way through and tasted like they were boiled with dirty socks. $14.99 for a plate of tiny rubber noodles with rotten vegetables and 3 small, very thinly sliced, pieces of meat. #2 on the noodle page was supposed to be vermicelli noodles in sesame sauce and teriyaki sauce. Tasted like it was in fish oil and soy sauce or some other random concoction. Seriously some of the worst food we've eaten. Paying $32+ for something you can't even stomach is very disappointing.
Definitely should’ve dived more into the reviews before coming here. Was feeling hungry and went to eat out with a friend and the old man pointed towards the wait seat and lectured saying that he was only one person while there was two other people sitting down that looked like they also could’ve worked there or his relative idfk but we waited 15 mins and we got seated. He took a bit to come to our table but upon us ordering, we wanted to share because we didn’t wanna eat much. He raised his voice saying we don’t serve just appetizer when we literally asked for entree and appetizer. He apparently didn’t get that cus he kept on saying that “i need money, we don’t sell just appetizer.” He essentially wanted to pick our portions and said all 22 yrs he was doing it, it’s always been his policy for one entree per person. MAYBE IF IT WAS, TELL US BEFORE YOU HAVE US WAITING 15 mins. Unwelcoming atmosphere. would never come. so glad i didn’t spend a dime on that restaurant, and you shouldn’t either
was with a group of friends. owner chooses portions for you. waited 15 minutes. old asian man who looks like owner demands you to order certain amount. had issue i wasn’t korean and asked me why don’t know how one can control that. proceeds to say “no sale bye bye” because i didn’t buy the item he wanted me to buy. not very accepting towards outsiders. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.
We have been here several times, I look forward to eating here. But, each time we come the host/manager/owner displays varying degrees of rudeness as soon as you walk in the door. I'm cool with eccentricity, but his behavior is unacceptable. Save yourself from this dude and skip this place, the food isn't that good.
Really bad service; asked a simple question about the dish and got instant attitude and got yelled at. Owner threw a fit, somehow came to a consensus that we were not ordering?? and slammed the menus on the table and stormed off, very unprofessional and unbelievable. I understand if the place is short staffed and such but this reaction was completely unreasonable. Been here before and the food was great but this time the experience was completely horrible. Guess you can have a good experience if you don’t ask questions. Sucks that this is one of the only korean restaurants in town but I cannot see myself coming here again.
