If you like it, and I do, the typical village atmosphere. It's a trattoria, not a restaurant, with the entrance serving as a bar, newsstand, and tobacconist. Seating is limited. This is my second visit, and it confirms the good rating of the first. Good appetizers, delicious agnolotti, and dessert. I won't comment on the main courses; I'll stop there first.

A charming restaurant in a charming village in the rolling hills of Monferrato. Very comfortable, clean, and tidy, with very helpful staff. Home-style cooking, with a limited selection of dishes, is of the highest quality. The menu is available on a large blackboard hanging on the wall in the restaurant's main dining room. The dishes reflect the region, with local specialties based on the season. Reservations are recommended, especially as seating is limited, although there is a dining room downstairs. Parking is no problem, as there is a large parking lot directly in front of the restaurant. If you're passing through, don't miss the opportunity for a tasty meal at a truly attractive price.

I had lunch today, featuring typical dishes from the à la carte menu. The food was excellent and the prices were reasonable. The only downside is that they're only open in the evenings from Thursday until Sunday, I think. I had agnolotti with butter and thyme, veal cheek with Ruchè (a wine unique to this area), and chocolate pudding with amaretti biscuits. As pictured.

A newly renovated place, warm welcome. The appetizers were excellent, especially the tartare, which was delicious, but I also enjoyed the other dishes. I chose a first course of maltagliati with ragù, and the others a dish of chickpeas and agnolotti with wine. We were both satisfied. I didn't get to eat the second course because I saved room for dessert, a nougat and pistachio semifreddo. The wine is a local favorite, Ruchè. In short, I recommend you try it. 😉

It's located in the main square of Castagnole Monferrato, home of the Ruché wine. The menu offers traditional dishes, using Slow Food products. To sample all the appetizers, I recommend the mixed antipasto, where the quality of the ingredients is evident from the first bite. The agnolotti with a truly exquisite roast sauce are noteworthy. Each dish showcases a crescendo of flavors. The homemade desserts are equally excellent. If you're a wine lover, pair your meal with a good local Ruché, and you'll surely be satisfied.

Lunch on May 13, 2023. A no-frills bar-restaurant, it's quiet and welcoming, with a few well-spaced tables and good acoustics. Traditional Piedmontese dishes are well-prepared (don't miss the herb friciulin, but the Russian salad and agnolotti didn't disappoint either, dessert wasn't memorable), the bread and breadsticks are decent, and the extra virgin olive oil is made from non-Italian olives. The wine list is extensive, featuring various Ruchè labels at reasonable prices. The service is prompt and courteous. The restrooms are clean and accessible to the disabled. The bill is fair. Rating: 8

Posto all interno di un bar tabaccheria. Antipasti buoni, il resto accettabile, non speciale. Prezzo secondo me alto. Il servizio sufficiente, non specializzato.

A good osteria offering a typical Monferrato menu. I recommend the mixed antipasto, which gives you a taste of the local delicacies. The agnolotti with butter and thyme are also delicious. A good selection of Piedmontese and Italian wines. The atmosphere is clean, with well-spaced tables. Simple, friendly service. Reasonable prices.

In the land where the ancient Roche grape is being revitalized, Geppe offers traditional Piedmontese dishes paired with excellent wines such as Grignolono Ruche and Alta Langa. It's well worth a visit.
