Opinions de Trattoria Montana Via Mulino
We dined at this restaurant on Saturday, November 29th, after reading the various reviews. We had a great time, despite the restaurant being packed and having some unruly children. The two ladies in the dining room rushed around serving tables all evening; the wait was a bit long between appetizers and entrees, but understandably so. Not all the dishes on the blackboard menu were available, but there was still a good selection. The cold cuts were excellent, the pizzoccheri were very good, and the pesteda was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and the dishes were home-made, very comfort food. The bill was very fair. I absolutely recommend the Trattoria.
On the recommendation of a friend, we went to eat at this trattoria. The atmosphere is simple, but I have to say the food is truly excellent, with generous portions. I must compliment Paola, who, despite being the only one serving all the tables, didn't keep us waiting long—she was brilliant. We returned the next evening because we had such a great time. I highly recommend it.
Well, the photos speak for themselves. If you book in advance and tell them what you want to eat, you'll be done sooner. The service and welcome are from times gone by, the presentation of the dishes is commendable. Perhaps the only flaw is that the water is served in an old-fashioned way.
Very delicious food, pasta and soup .Recommended to reserve in advance. Waiter didn't speak English very well but we could manage.
Very good Italian cuisine. Very busy in the evening. But it was worth it to wait.
super
We had the polenta with braised beef and the tagliatelle with game: truly delicious dishes! Excellent value for money and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow, but understandable, given that there were only two people in the dining room and they had plenty of seats.
Friendly service, good tasty food for a great price.
Good food, but incredibly long service times. It took over an hour to receive the dishes, with the place half-empty... Otherwise, the staff were friendly and helpful. The entrance was a little difficult to find, but the prices were okay.
The only positive thing is the low prices, but they reflect the poor quality of the food and wine. The pizzoccheri were overcooked and the house wine was vinegary. The wait was excessively long.
Finding this place was really tricky. The entrance at night is practically invisible, unmarked, and we even had to call the restaurant to find out how to get in, but the person who answered was really annoyed and didn't give us any directions. A truly unpleasant start. Overall, I'd say the experience was marked by a lack of care and attention. The atmosphere is anonymous, and the service is virtually nonexistent: the waitresses simply bring the dishes, without much attention to the customers. The dishes were not bad, but nothing memorable. Personally, I wouldn't consider the sciatt a first course, as listed on the menu, but rather an appetizer, like many other restaurants offer. This can easily confuse those unfamiliar with the dish. Furthermore, the menu indicated that the sciatt were served with chicory, but the dish simply contained julienned iceberg lettuce. When we asked for an explanation, the waitress replied smugly, claiming that "that's chicory where they come from." Just looking at the photo shows that this isn't the case. In conclusion, the dishes are decent and the prices are fair, but the service is slow, unprofessional, and lacks attention to detail.
We ate at this trattoria at the recommendation of our hotel. The only thing we liked was the pizzoccheri, which, however, was without potatoes and lacked butter. The tagliolini with venison ragù had little meat and the sauce was probably thinned with cream, which was sweet and flavorless. The amaretto crumble cake was not bad but extremely sweet; the cheesecake tasted too cheesy and was hard. Overall, the quality was poor.
The location isn't exactly typical of the area. Upon entering, a room opens up that looks like a company cafeteria; the smaller rooms on the sides are better, as they have a quaint feel. The dishes aren't exceptional, and the pizzoccheri are overly flavorful. The wait time for two appetizers and two main courses was biblical, with over an hour (it was almost empty when we entered). The staff was not very attentive (except for the very friendly owners). The only positive is the bill; it's cheaper than going out for pizza.
One star is even too much. The food wasn't good at all. The charcuterie board looked pretty good, but once we got to the first and second courses, my boyfriend and I felt sick. The pizzoccheri they served me made me lose my appetite, and most importantly, I won't eat pizzoccheri again after this experience. Furthermore, considering the quality of the food (very poor), it's also very expensive. I wouldn't go back even if I hadn't eaten for a month. Here are the photos...
