It's a treat to eat here when I'm in the area. Great roast beef, really good bread, and I love the Cherry peppers.
The original submarine sandwich! Amiels is a perfect story of the American dream and I think Amiel Sr. Is looking down and smiling as the tradition continues. Offerings that have long been left to history at other sandwich shops can still be found here; luncheon meat (chopped ham) and seafood salad to name my favorites. If you are in Victor in a sea of chain restaurants, stop in and you will thank me later. Real food at a great price, with a pickle on the side. **For a bit of heat, get the hot cherry peppers, B&G is one of the finest producers of pickled products and they make the difference.
I went for the BBQ dipping sauce. "Fire in the Bush". Great sauce. This is a go to bbq sauce. Excellent. Glad you carry it.
Best subs around. The Victor store is the better of the two. 50's/60's 🎵 and classic seating is fun to sit and eat in. Get the dill pickle quartered and have the roll buttered and toasted! The best!
My company and I had a business luncheon in the Town of Victor and were recommended Amiel's Subs. First, the sub tray, potato salad, and cookies were delicious and fresh. Second, emphasis on the COOKIES. Third, Diana the manager was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help us with our order. We had a bit of a time sensitive crunch and she was very accommodating. You can tell they care about their customers and paying attention to detail, while being a busy/high traffic location. Thank you!!
Been going since I was a kid to this local group. Subs hot or cold are amazing! Retro decor, love neon tile and Coca-Cola. They prepare their bread like no other. Toasted with butter. The ingredients are fresh and the condiments are outstanding. Details matter. Food is great. details are covered, memories as a kid when my parents would stop by for lunch...
Talk about a good sandwich!! Amiel's knows how to perfect their cuts, everything is such high quality, the staff are friendly when you walk up to the counter to make your sub and the shop itself has a really cool vintage 50's vibe inside. The food here is addicting, you just might find yourself coming here every day!!
This place is spectacular! Gianni made my sandwich. He was patient, kind, asked me what I wanted and made a really great sandwich. The turkey is fresh turkey and the spicy mustard is out of this world. Atmosphere takes you back in time. Overall great place.
Every ingredient was great, but the ensemble they call a "Chicken Parm" sub is so far from what I want chicken parm sub to be, I consider it bad. To be fair, the butter/toasting machine was down for service, so it's possible this sub could be improved enough by that enhancement to be called ok. What I received amounted to a room temperature rotisserie chicken sub with a splash of a loose tomato sauce, and cold provolone cheese. The chicken was not breaded or fried. The ingredients were... *chef's kiss. Super soft bread (maybe even too soft), moist tender chicken (not sure how it's cooked), a fresh tasting sauce, and quality cheese. It just wasn't a Chicken Parm. I should have ordered roast beef or an Italian assorted, or anything else. By all means, order what I had if it looks or sounds appealing. I gave 5 stars for the effort, but the result was 3 stars if that.
I used to love Amiels subs. I remember going there as a child with my grandfather. Definitely gone down hill for almost 9.00 i got hardly any meat or cheese on my sandwich.
Ordered online, paid online. Time was specified and gave 2 hours before pickup. Pickup time changed twice on updates. After picking up and bringing home, realized that additional items paid for were not provided on the subs. Quality has definitely declined over the last few years, a lot of that has to do with the high turnover of staff. Tried again 07/30/25. Wanted to order online, through the app for pickup. Could not order the CLUB (something that is on their menu) and the app said to contact if any issue. Well, I called only to be told that they don’t take orders via phone, I had to use the app. When I told them what I was trying to do, and the issues experienced, he simply said “Don’t know what to tell you, can’t take orders by phone, you have to use the app.” ‘The app is isn’t allowing me to order what’s on the menu.’ “That’s your problem, I can’t take orders over the phone.” Adios Amiel’s…. I won’t be back!
If you are a military veteran STAY AWAY!!! I haven't written reviews until recently, and realized how much they can help people. Years ago, I had an awful encounter with the current owner of this establishment. Her employees had given me a 40% off discount for being a veteran. I was recently out of the military and suffering PTSD. The workers had no idea how much the appreciation mattered to me, but it mattered so so much. I went there all the time with a smile on my face as a result. Then, after months of this, I came in and an old lady whom the employees identified as the owner took my order. When I mentioned the veteran discount, she said "you have to be in uniform to get the discount" I mentioned how I still have my uniform in my military duffle, in my trunk (absolutely true, because I didn't trust it anywhere else). I said I could run out to my car and change if that meant I got a discount, but that it was ridiculous that that made the difference. She said, it doesn't matter because you didn't have it on when you ordered. Just an AWFUL person. I bought the sub and now give ALL my business to Dibellas and have been recommending them and sharing this story with friends ever since. She has no idea how awful her awful service affected me and negatively affected her business, but it was greedy and selfish, and mean. Even if the standard discount was 10%, it would be fine. But knowing that it was meant for people in uniforms is even more of a slap in the face, because this implies it's a police bribery discount for those in uniform and still on duty to sit in her store on taxpayer dollars. This is a slap in the face to hardworking fire fighters and veterans everywhere, whom while likely never be in uniform at the time they order here. Absolutely unacceptable and fellow veterans deserve to know
The chicken parm sandwich made my mother cry. Although the real joy was the girl with pink hair making our sandwich. Rude, snappy, with the disposition of a Mack truck. Anyways, here’s a recipe for a chicken parm sandwich that isn’t garbage. Ingredients: - 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts - 1 cup all-purpose flour - 2 eggs, beaten - 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs - 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese - 1 cup marinara sauce - 4 slices of mozzarella cheese - 4 sandwich rolls - Salt and pepper to taste - Olive oil for frying Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. 2. Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness using a meat mallet. 3. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. 4. Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes - one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. 5. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere. 6. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add enough olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan. 7. Fry the breaded chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. 8. Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. 9. Place the chicken breasts on a baking sheet and top each with a spoonful of marinara sauce and a slice of mozzarella cheese. 10. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. 11. While the chicken is baking, toast the sandwich rolls in the oven for a few minutes. 12. Assemble the sandwiches by placing a chicken breast on each toasted roll and topping with more marinara sauce if desired. 13. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious chicken parm sandwich!
Amiels used to be our go to sub shop, but lately, dear goodness, I would rather go to subway… last 3 times have been decreasing in quality and the employees seem to care less. The latest round is some brown lettuce with dry meat placed without care in between a flop of dough. Yes, dough… A bun that brings shame to buns. Cook the bread, put viable toppings on, shouldn’t be that hard! Alas, it seems that no one dare instruct the workers in how to actually do their job. Anywho, I suggest you look elsewhere, unless on the verge of starvation.
Never going back here. Staff was incredibly rude. Quality of food was disgusting. Barely anything added to the subs and got charged extra to have a normal amount of anything put on. Watching them smush the bread through their rolling toaster was an interesting experience as well. Woman who checked us out was insanely, over the top rude. Threw my receipt at me and snatched my card out of my hands. All 3 subs went right in the trash after a couple of bites.
