Opinions de Lamppost Pizza Vista
This place has some serious nostalgia for me as there used to be one in Round Rock, TX 20 years ago. I make it a point to see if there's a Lamppost anywhere near where I'll be in California everytime I visit simply so that I can take a trip back in time. The pizza remains just as good as I remembered and the staff were great.
Excellent beer. Best pizza in world! I have been eating lamppost since I was a kid. Still best pizza for 40 years! I come here every year on my birthday and love it! 11/2/18 - Another year! Still happy! 11/4/22 Another birthday year! Same staff! In fact, the first bartender's son was born on the 11/4. When I arrive he greets me with "Happy Birthday!". His son is now 6. I remember how stressed he was for his 2nd birthday party. :) Thank you Lampost for the 40+ years of good pizza and memories.
Awesome staff and even better food. Get the twice baked wings - you'll thank me later. Wings are huge and pizza is not shy on toppings. I love the Perfect Game! Enjoy friends!!
This has been our go to Pizza spot for our family. We celebrated my mom's birthday last night and the food and atmosphere was great. We had a meat combo pizza (not my cup of tea), Hawaiian and Hawaiian with jalapeño, wings (which were huge) and their bomb salad. Great food, great time. And if you are more of a pizza and beer (or just drinking in general) this is a great spot too. Their outdoor area is pretty sweet and they have TVs everywhere.
Among many good things on the menu the Wings are the best I've had!

We just had our company party here and the service was good!
Place is amazing for the community. They give back and are gracious hosts for the entire sports organization in Vista. The food is awesome. Establishment is clean. Kids feel welcomed. Can't say enough about LampPost/Backstreet, the crew and ownership
One of my favorite pizza place. I usually get the whole nine yards, lots of toppings, good sauce and crust is perfect. Great selection of beers. One side is a bar with seats other is more booth and table family friendly. Definitely a go to place for me.
Very nice, and even though it is a big restaurant, it is actually rather quiet usually. The food is always good no matter what you get, and there's an arcade. My family and I eat here all the time it's a go to with great food. We usually get the submarine sandwich (great to eat both as one or to split) or the whole nine.
I don't like to eat much Pizza, but this pizza is the best! My family is full of pizza lovers, and we all love this pizza! We enjoy each bite down to the crust (literally the crust/bread is delicious). Our favorite is the Whole Nine Yards (similar to a supreme). This pizza is stacked with toppings, and all of it is flavorful. It is a bit pricey (Large is closer to $30, but it's well worth it. We'll usually order a salad and loaded wedges to go with the meal, and it hasn't disappointed. Highly recommend this place. The folks that work here are very kind and accommodating.

Great family or date night and even a single ready to mingle.....atmosphere in the bar area! I just love the food and how friendly people are here!

We love their taco pizza! Only place you can get it! The beer selection varies and I don't always find some I like though- they are heavy on the IPA selection. Sometimes the (young) person taking your order isn't old enough to pour beer or acts like they eant to be there, so that can be a little frustrating. But we've been going here for at least 20 years though since we love their taco pizza! The place can get loud and crowded with kids and kid parties so something to keep in mind. They have tables, boothes and picnic benches to sit at on the restaurant side. There's also a nice outdoor seating area off the bar that has a fire table.
Stopped by for a quick sandwich before the movies and I had a submarine, it was so delicious! The toasted the roll and it had on it all the Italian deli meats, they could go a little lighter with the dressing the next time but all in all it was good and the staff were very nice.
Pizza, wings and garlic bread were all good! A little pricier than other places though

This used to be our most frequented restaurant in the village and we basically ordered the same thing every time. They do have the best gluten free crust ever. We always ordered the Cobb salad too, but they started mixing blue cheese with Cesar, which just destroys the dressing, so we stopped going. But we're back for that pizza and just skipping the salad

This place is fine. For the price, it is not worth it. Recommend going elsewhere due to the prices vs quality of the food.

This place is absolutely terrible. The food is decent. The costumer service is anything but decent. The bowl of spaghetti is supposed to come with a slice of garlic bread, but we didn’t get it. The spaghetti hardly had any meat sauce and the costumer service was plain out disgusting. I would not eat here if I was starving and this was the only food spot left on earth.
⸻ After several visits, I feel it’s time to speak up about my experience here. While the food has consistently been great, the service has been just as consistently disappointing. On multiple occasions, my wife and family have been treated rudely by some of the women working the front. It’s disheartening to walk into a place and feel unwelcome, especially when we’ve continued to support the business. I recently tried to address the issue directly by calling and asking to speak with one of the owners, David. After being put on hold for almost 10 minutes and having to call back, I was met with a dismissive attitude. I explained the reason for my call, only to be told he “had to get back to the kitchen”—a clear sign that the conversation wasn’t worth his time. Again, the food has never been the issue. But when you’re regularly spending $120 to $140 per visit, a basic level of respect and professionalism from the staff doesn’t seem like too much to ask. As much as I’ve enjoyed the food, I won’t be coming back. If you’re looking for great pizza with better service and a more welcoming atmosphere, I’d recommend Urbn Pizza down the street. The staff there are friendly, the drink selection is better, and the overall experience is far more enjoyable. (Also attaching a screenshot of my call log, showing how long I was on hold—despite being told “the phone just rang.” That kind of response only adds to the frustration.)
Unfortunately, after several visits, I feel compelled to share that the service here has consistently fallen short. On multiple occasions, staff members—particularly some of the women working the front—have been noticeably rude to my husband and family. I recently attempted to address this with one of the owners, David. After being placed on hold for nearly 10 minutes and having to call back, I was met with a dismissive attitude. Despite taking time to voice my concerns, I was told he “had to get back to the kitchen,” making it clear that the brief conversation wasn’t a priority. The food here has always been solid—no complaints there—but the lack of professionalism and courtesy from the staff is disappointing. A little respect and decency shouldn’t be too much to ask, especially when customers are consistently spending $120–$140 per visit. As much as I’ve enjoyed the food, I won’t be returning. I’ve been a loyal customer for years because the pizza here is amazing, but my recent visit to this location left me extremely disappointed due to the poor customer service. My husband, brother, and I arrived early before the rest of our family, and my brother was hungry, so I went to order him a pizza. The girl at the counter (black hair, black glasses) didn’t greet me or acknowledge me at all—no “hello,” no basic customer service. I let it slide at first, but things got worse when the rest of my family arrived, and we placed another large order. When we ordered the second time, she asked for our table number, which was the same one she had already given us when we placed our first order for dine-in. That should have been an indicator that we were staying to eat, but somehow, when the food came out, everything was packed in to-go boxes. A different young lady, who was very polite, brought out the food, and I mentioned that we had not ordered it to-go. She apologized and said she would check on it. A few moments later, the same girl from the register—the one with the attitude—came back with the food and insisted, in a very rude tone, that we had requested it to-go. That was absolutely not the case. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she kept pushing the issue as if she was determined to prove she was right. Her tone was unnecessary and completely lacking in customer service. If she had approached me differently, I wouldn’t have minded a mix-up, but the way she spoke to me was unacceptable. Because of this terrible experience, I went back up to the register and removed the tip we had left. I always believe in tipping for good service, but this employee did not deserve it. If you don’t like your job, you shouldn’t work in customer service. Mistakes happen, but the way you handle them makes all the difference. To the owner or manager: I highly recommend retraining your staff on basic customer service skills. The food is great, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I truly hope this location improves its service because I would hate for this to happen to other customers.
I’ve always enjoyed the food here…. but after watching the recent video of the manager throwing the F bomb out at 2 female customers and telling them to shut up, I will not support this business anymore. Completely unacceptable and disrespectful.
