Extremely friendly staff! Fried chicken salad fresh chicken cooked perfectly & ranch is homemade. Definitely recommend. They also have any drink you can think of wall lined with coolers full. Its an interesting place. Definitely recommend

We enjoyed our takeout from here! The portions are very large so I accidentally ordered way too much food. Our catfish was a little overcooked/ rubbery on the edges. I’d definitely recommend the steak fingers - they were SO good and tender. The price was a steal for the portions. I appreciated the gal telling me that the hush puppies weren’t fresh (at the time I was ordering) & order a different side but she threw in a couple so we could try them.

I didn't know this place existed until I seen it on door dash the other day. I saw that they had reasonable prices, a menu with a large variety, and good looking food. After seeing all of that, I had to try out Griffs for myself! I got the catfish, shrimp, fried okra and onion rings. It was so much food, I enjoyed the okra, onion rings and fish it all tasted great. I didn't really enjoy the hush puppies because they were deep fried a bit too hard for my liking and the shrimp just didn't hit the spot for me, but it definitely had a nice crunch. I would definitely come back to try more

Great flavor on my double meat cheese burger w fries and water. I definitely see the shrinkflation over last 2 years. At $17.72 (double meat double cheese means 2 slices of cheese, not 1) Great flavor and service. Getting skimpy and expensive. I'll pass on the prices.

One of the best places to eat in Waco. I've been dining here for well over a decade. Sadly, the service has seemed to be slipping over the years. I've had 3 separate orders where they have forgotten one of my side dishes. 5/5 stars. Feb 2024. Edited review: The service continues to slip here, which is a shame. Now instead of forgetting a side order, the food is no longer being cooked to a safe or edible quality. Griff's has always been one of my preferred eateries, but the last time I went here, they gave me a pink and raw hamburger. I took my order to go, and it takes me about 15 minutes to get to Griff's and then 15 minutes to get back home. I discovered the raw food and called them. The person on the line informed me that I could "bring it back and show us, and we can cook you a new one, but that is about all we can do". It took me 30 minutes to get my food the first time. It would then take an additional 30 minutes (totalling in an hour of drive time) just to get what I originally paid for. The wasted time and gas was not worth the hassle to me. Had I perhaps been given a credit or something, I would have considered good customer service to mend a multitude of sins, but the ball was dropped there as well. As proof, please see below what was served to me. I fear if things get much worse, they may not pass health inspection or do irreparable damage to what has been a decades long name in Waco. Edit: I tried calling a few times. Management never picked up or made this situation right.

First time here, the food is not bad but man do they cater to regulars. We sat by the kitchen and watched them go out of their way to cater to a regular couple. They offered them a box for their all you can eat catfish and then proceeded to bring them a tray full of catfish filets. All this after the box, which is against what you say to every other customer getting a box. On top of them getting extra catfish, the employees gave them free pie too. For the catfish and burgers being mediocre I would go elsewhere.

I have eaten at this establishment multiple times over the years. Tonight was the worst experience I have ever received from any restaurant. 1st let me say Friday is all you can eat fish. Rule we learned tonight was NO Box for leftovers. Cool. That is okay. Businesses have the right to set boundaries. As a business owner myself I understand it. BUT that doesn't give anyone the right to prejudge a group of of what maybe others have done from the same race. I felt the bad vibes!! The little blonde had her face turned up and looking unfriendly from GO. I felt the negative energy from the moment we ordered. Now, my husband and uncle did ask for more fish. They didn't finish and asked for a box. They said no. Kool!! I had a order of fried mushrooms and fried zucchini that I wanted to take with me. Whyyy.. did they try to embarrass me for asking for a box. Ma'am!!! This was a separate order from the fish!! I don't eat reheated fish!! But I sure do want a box for my zucchini for later. I have never been more embarrassed, and for them to think that's okay. Solution for the next set of customers if you don't want to loose them. Charge extra for the box!!! You'd rather throw the fish on the trash instead of just saying 'there is a $5 charge for a to go box on a all you can eat night'. That keeps the attitudes down, doesn't embarrass a customer, and keeps you from wasting food and not losing profit. I'm just saying .. as a business owner that's a better plan than turning up on your customers over leftovers you'll toss out anyway. BUT hey.. was a favorite spot that I tell everyone to try.. NOW.. I'll never visit again. All behind 1 or 2 employees that have no customer service skills or problem solving techniques. Ya'll enjoy!!!

Had the all you can eat catfish Friday. The food is average. Went to pay, looked down as my husband was about to swipe his card, $56. I made him stop. Our bill was $38. The cashier said "oh, it automatically does that, but you can tap no". WATCH OUT GOING IN GRIFF'S, THEY PICK YOUR TIP FOR YOU. They almost got us.

Management needs to train the ladies in the cook area how to have better customer service. Handling your cellphone while someone is placing an order is very unsanitary and also it felt as if placing your order was interrupting their conversation. Huge chrome bowl with tater sauce inside left uncovered on the counter while additional tarter sauce containers left half empty and half full. The tater sauce spoon was resting on a napkin as it appeared that no one was in a hurry to remove the huge bowl of uncovered tater sauce nor spoon. My family will not be returning and Griffs will not recommend.
