Opinions de Teleferic Barcelona Walnut Creek
My favorite restaurant in Walnut Creek, my family is from Spain so it’s nice to have found a spot that brings Barcelona to us. I love to start with the sangria barceloneta- very refreshing but you can’t go wrong with any of the drinks the G&Ts are also great. Then my go to tapas are the patatas bravas, empanadas de pollo, croquetas de jamón (though the crab are delicious as well just more bang for your buck with the jamón), the brussel sprouts with manchego, and the pulpo (octopus). I enjoy the lobster paella when I want paella but recently tried the negra and it very good. The trio for dessert for a little taste of everything finishes the evening perfectly.
This place never disappoints. The food is excellent and absolutely reminiscent of the tapas in Barcelona. It brings back fond memories of the place! The Jamon Iberico is a must! I also always like going with some sort of empanadas. We also recommend the Paella!
Extremely lively Spanish Tapas bar and rooftop bar. The bartenders were spectacular and very friendly and the food was quite legit. Surprisingly easy to get into on a Saturday holiday evening.
Good food. Tight tables. Make a reservation—we came for lunch and ordered a variety of tapas and drinks.
Our third visit and definitely our new favorite place. The food is excellent, and the service is outstanding! They’ve only been open a few weeks but they already have it dialed. Our server, Bryana, was attentive and helpful, and contributed to the fun vibe at our table. She handled our party of 8 flawlessly! The manager, Pau, is always a delight to talk to, and he provided excellent wine pairing recommendations. Highly recommend!
Step inside, and it’s as though Barcelona has slid across the ocean and taken up residence in Walnut Creek. Telefèric occupies a handsome brick building on Mount Diablo Boulevard, perched on the second floor, with a sleek, open kitchen and a sweeping marble bar looking out over the retail bustle of downtown. The lighting plays coy, soft but confident. There’s a private dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows, an adjacent balcony with its own bar. All of this blends modern elegance and Spanish warmth: communal tables, booths, high-tops. Spacious yet intimate where it counts. Now, to the heart: the food. Telefèric is unabashedly Spanish: tapas, paellas, sangrias, cocktails that promise more than mere refreshment. Service? Polished. Attentive. There is a sense that servers want to know the cuisine, the story, and additionally they possess the charm to deliver it. The Padrosa family—owners—emphasize authenticity, not just food. But again, peaks and valleys. On "a good night," service is prompt and informative; on busy nights, delays creep in. Crowds test the system. It flexes, but strain shows. This is also the only restaurant which I have visited, anywhere on Earth, which adds a 20% gratuity to the bill for a party of two on an off-peak time (!)
The service was amazing. Our sever was quick to refill our water and very attentive. The food was delicious overall; we especially enjoyed the Iberian oyster, which was very tasty and Paella negra. I just wish there were a bit more meat, but overall, it was a great experience. Just note that there’s an automatic 20% service charge added to the bill.
Great location, great service and, most important of all, the food here are better than the food that we ate when we were in Barcelona last year. The Catalan Tomahawk was perfectly cooked and the broccolinis are the perfect side dish. The oysters, the octopus, the chicken Empanadas are all very good appetizers but the we didn't care for the wagyu Empanadas much. The churros are a must for dessert. They were so good that we ordered a second serving. We live in San Francisco but we're definitely coming back ASAP...
Enter an Industrial style building with the strong aroma of fresh baked pizza. On the second level is Telerific Barcelona. A Modern Spanish food gem in well lit wood finish interiors. Food here is amazing and delicious. Non alcoholic versions of well known Spanish beverages are available. No wonder it is a favorite of many in the San Francisco Bay area. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is casual. Parking tho can be a challenge.
Came for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. Not a lot of people seated, nice window view of the outside. Parking was a bit of a struggle to get here, but overall not too bad. Ordered off of the executive lunch special, and had the tuna tacos and paella negra for myself, others had ordered the crab croquetta and paella mixta. Everything was good, I personally preferred the negra over the mixta, but both were good. The tapas were excellent and delicious all around. Servers were attentive and friendly, environment was clean and pleasant to look at. At the end of the bill is a 20% service charge, so tipping is not recommended unless you choose to do so. Overall a good experience for lunch!
Excellent food and superb service. They have an executive menu for lunch where you get to choose either two (tapas plus main) or three dishes (plus dessert), which is a great bargain. Highlight for the meal was the tomato carpaccio. It not only looks nice, but also tastes great too. A 20% service charge will be added to the bill (server kindly reminded us about it). So any tips will be on top of that.
One of the best restaurants in the Bay Area! From drinks to appetizers and main courses there was a wide variety to pick from and there was not a single item that was not 10/10. The item that stole the show for us was the potatoes, best potatoes I’ve had hands down. Had to order 2 more of them that’s how good it was. The paella was also amazing. 10/10 would come back here. Great ambience and open kitchen, fast service as well. Only downside is the price but oh well!
Food and drinks were great! A solid date spot or business lunch. Service was attentive and responsive.

Very good Spanish cuisine. We have been here before for my birthday a few years ago, but we had friends and family and came for lunch, ordered only lots of apps. This time we came last night, just the 2 of us. It was Saturday night and we had made a reservation for 5pm a few hours before. Otherwise, we def would have had to wait a while for a table. We had: 6 Iberian oysters with gazpacho and pearls (fish eggs?) $30 - very good, decorated with mini edible flowers. 2 La gambas $8 - very tasty, little bacon wrapped shrimps deep fried in panko and skewered. 1 Lobster paella $62 - very good, flavorful, with shrimp and octopus. Chose the "crispy" version of rice (instead of "soft"). 1 Paella negra $48 - also tasty, but a little less, I think the squid ink "matte-ifies" the flavor some. With shrimp, scallops, clams and octopus. It was less salty and "bright" than the other. Chose "crispy" rice. 2 glasses red wine $38 1 La Flaca drink $16 - very good! 1 Flamenquita $16 - very good! I took off a star for 2 reasons: It was hard to hear the very nice waitress - she spoke softly and the place was packed with patrons and staff and was kind of loud. Also, we received the check, and at the bottom, before the tax, was in all-caps and highlighted with marker: SERVICE CHARGE 20%. For 2 ppl? And then, when I did the calculations, they TAXED the entire meal AND 20% service charge too! (See pic). I was like NOPE, not gonna happen. When I showed the waitress, and explained that the service charge had been taxed, she could not explain. I told her that's not acceptable, and she said something about it being not required, but it was PART of the check AND being taxed. So she came back with a new receipt, without the charge (see pic). And then we tipped 20% like usual (on the un-taxed amount). We will def be back - I need to try more apps and for sure need to try the Prime Wellington and Ibérico Paella! Thank you for a great meal!
Overall, the food was quite tasty. I took off a star because the lobster was small. About the same size as the shrimp. Service was excellent. The waiter came by to check on us several times throughout the dinner along with I think the General Manager. Ambiance was very nice with second floor views of the streets. The photos are what we ordered and shared as family style. Definitely worth a revisit in the future.

Teleféric Barcelona serves polished, flavorful Spanish plates, but my visit was undermined by how a service issue was handled. Food highlights - Paella Negra: Deep, briny squid-ink rice with perfectly cooked shrimp and clams; creamy aioli provided a bright counterpoint. - Crab Croquetas: Crisp exterior and silky, well-seasoned crab interior. - Wagyu Empanadas: Flaky pastry with a juicy, savory wagyu filling. Service and incident I found a hair in my drink. Staff repeatedly checked in afterward in a way that felt overbearing and made the situation uncomfortable rather than reassuring. Management did not offer a comp for the contaminated drink. Given the clear nature of the issue, I expected a discrete, manager-led resolution such as a refund or comp and a brief apology. Ambiance note The dining area is on the second story with an open-air terrace; it is NOT a rooftop. The space feels elevated without being on the building’s roof. Verdict Good technique and dishes, but the service recovery fell short. I would return if the restaurant addressed how managers handle contamination complaints and trains staff to resolve them discreetly.
Got there early before much crowds showed up. Ordered the paella which was great, all other tapas tho. Surprisingly expansive for very small bits of it. Doordash was offering happy hour discount bu…

The waitress was not attentive and dropped off the bill without looking at us or even say "have good night". They charged us 20% gratuity automatically and they definitely didn't serve us well enough to deserve it. I belive that she knew she was getting a 20% tip and didn't try to check up on us. I'm not going to name her but I hope she does better because this WAS a place I loved dinning at. The bus person was great he was more attentive than the waitress.
