Had a party of 8. Great good, service. My grandkids and family were well taken care of. Bbq sauces were good. Bought some to take home. We had the tritip sandwich, bbq chicken salad, humongous pretzel, Mac and cheese, burnt ends, pulled pork sandwich. All tasted wonderful. Will be back again. Would recommend this grill.

Really good lunch or dinner place for a quick bite. They do not lack on flavor, the Tri tip never disappoints and I do have to recommend the Road House Salad. If you don't enjoy blue cheese crumbles get it without, but you must try this salad.

Excellent American plates, especially the tri-tip platter. Generous portions all around. Rarely does anyone in our family leave food on the plate. But here, we even took some half plates to go. They recommend medium rare on the tri-tip and that’s exactly the right taste. Love the bbq sauces on the table. And love the sides, especially the mixed veggies and sweet potatoes. You can’t go wrong here. Can’t wait to come back and try something else. Easy street parking or lots nearby. Put this place on your list the next time you’re in Walnut Creek.

The pic is less than a 1/3 of what is left!! We split it and could not finish it. Tons of fresh bacon, tomatoes, green onions and blue cheese. I am blown away. 30 miles from me in Oakland..and I will be back!!

This is my favorite spot in Walnut creek. I have been there a lot of times and always enjoyed visiting. The foods are always great. My favorite is chicken salad it crispy taco. And chicken with mash potatoes is awesome. Meats fresh and juicy. The service is always fast and guys are super friendly. Also they have super valuable kids menu. Thanks for this great service

They had some really good choices. I had the tri-tip burger and fries. The presentation was nice, and it was fresh, grilled well done, with no pink in it. I would return again; the toppings were also fresh.

The salad was so fresh each ingredient was served in a container well separated in it and very clean and well prepared. Also no missing items and packed very good. Thanks

Buckhorn has good sandwiches. I really enjoy their salads. They offer some interesting combinations and because they have good steaks and chicken I add meat onto the salad for my protein. Their regular salads are large so you may want to get the half salad.

First time here because Cheesecake factory had too long of a wait (they need to take reservations !! ) My husband and father in law had the chicken and beef platter and they both liked it. I had the chop something salad, served in a tortilla bowl w/chicken .It was really good . I'd eat here again.

Ordered the French onion soup and Roadhouse salad with tri tip. Should have stayed with Roadhouse salad and yik yak salad. The soup and corn bread muffin was just OK. The Roadhouse salad is a large portion and can be shared

Ordered delivery. For the most part. Food was good. ! Broccoli salad , delicious. Cole slaw delicious. Tritip sandwich. Good. Only complaint I ordered the grilled veggies ,which I love. Cold and scarce. Heated them up .dipped in ranch they were fine. They need to add a dip and for the price not be so skimpy. And I mean skimpy

We had a great experience here! We were surprised with the quality of burger and salads here and would probably go back here again. The only minor complain would be that it doesn’t have a good vibe inside. It was a rainy day, so next time we will seat outside

We ordered delivery from them the first time, and the food was amazing. The next time we went to the restaurant and ate in, and the food wasn't as good, but I'm thinking it was a slower night and they might have been trying to close early. I'd still recommend it and would go back though

We stopped in because we had a gift certificate to use. We ordered quickly and took a seat in the back. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and was buzzing with lots of people. Our food came out fairly quickly and we got down to business. My chicken sandwich was HUMONGOUS, yet delicious. The side salad was small and fresh. BF's burger was moist and tasty but his sweet potato fries were a bit limp. Overall, we both agreed that we would come back to Buckhorn Grill.

Unfortunately, due to COVID and low visitation the location at the Mall no longer exists.The closest location is in Walnut Creek, and even that is not very close or convenient. It's the Tri-Tip Salad that pulls me in, healthy, tasty and the portion size is HUGE! Although it is a little on the pricey side, that's why it's a treat and not an everyday occurrence. The service is good too, and the staff is always making sure the restaurant is presentable and clean. I have never received poor customer service at this location.

Pleasantly surprised by the food quality, speed of service, table availability on Saturday night, pricing and hospitality. Way to go, Buckhorn Team! From the time we’ve ordered till food got delivered took about 10 mins. Food was delivered with the positive greeting and a smile. Salad came fresh, with crispy taco shell. All ingredients were well divided and perfectly balanced. Well done Tri Tip was served with grilled veggies and never touched mashed potatoes (do need some improvement). Tri Tip and veggies evaporated as fast as they were delivered though. Overall enjoyed and will surely be back.

Ok-ish, but I probably won't be back. There are much better options nearby Meat was good, even if on the lukewarm side, rather than warm or hot. Overall everything rather underwhelming. I hate cutting into waxpaper underneath the food (with the steak knife they give you). Sandwich bread was just the cheap styrofoam quality. BTW: Paying a tip when you order (at the counter) strikes me as odd. I thought the amount of a tip is supposed to reflect quality of food and of service. How am I supposed to know that when just ordering? (I know, many places do that, but that doesn't make it less awkward.)

Tried the tri-tip platter. Got 2 orders of the roasted veggies as my sides. Everything was pretty tasty but the sweet potatoes in the mix veg were raw. Couldn't do much about it cause I got my order to go.

expected more from this place, we ordered one of their platters for 2. the mashed potatoes weren’t very good, the mac and cheese was okay, the salad wasn’t very good and the chicken and ribeye didn’t have much flavor, also the food wasn’t hot at all, the price wasn’t worth it. i would suggest to go to a real bbq spot if that’s what you’re looking for

Quality has gone down over the years. The tri tip isn't as tasty. The flavor of the meat is usually overpowered by the condiments rather than being complimentary. Service is good tho and food comes out pretty quickly and is cooked well.

The service was ok. You order at the front and they bring the food to you (so it’s not like a full service restaurant). The Ambiance is bright, clean, and not too loud. So for overall experience I give this place 3.5 stars. Again I wish we could give half stars. So it was good but can be better. Until next time….

I agree- quality has gone down for sure. I ordered meat medium-rare and received meat that was well-done, as you can see. The Yik yak salad was once full of different veggies and cabbage and now 3/4 of it is iceberg lettuce. The sauce also was not as spicy or flavorful, it’s been watered down or changed. This is the second time I ordered take-out/pick up and the meat was overcooked. Really unhappy with these last, probably final experiences here. The first and best time I had a yikyak salad from Buckhorn was in SF, and that was for sit down dining..maybe ordering take-out is code for ‘give them the leftover meat and veggies”, while the the best is reserved for sit down diners who are paying tips for service. Either way, it’s disappointing. I wish management would take this into consideration and make changes.

Food is good.... when they get it right. But that's not often. I don't think I've ever ordered meat and gotten it the temperature that I wanted it. Medium rare? I got very well done. Medium well? I got it rare. They also take forever to make the food, even if it's a salad that all the ingredients are prepackaged for. And that's completely beside the fact that they haven't gotten a doordash order right in the last three tries out of four. Giving up on them now. Bye. Id literally rather cook my own meat. At least I know how to do freakin' medium.

Ordered online to make things easier and faster. My order pickup time was 3:30 I paid for my order and waited people that ordered 10 mintues after me received their food before me. 28 minutes later the cashier asked the cooks about my order and 3 minutes later i received my order to go. The Chicken sandwich was cold Tri tip sandwich was extremely fatty served with limp half cooked french fries. Nope not coming back here!

On 11/21, I called in route,10 minutes prior to arriving for a pick up family feast order, I knew I would have to wait but my receipt was time stamped 6:11p I did not leave the restaurant until 7:28p. They were short staffed, which I get, they were out of some sides, which is fine, but the person in charge was very stressed and short with customers including myself. Not my best experience.

I am so disappointed in the food quality and customer service. I ordered grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. The vegetables were uncooked, hard and I received 3 pieces of bell pepper, 2 hard pieces of sweet potatoes and 3 hard pieces of zucchini. I tried to contact the restaurant and the manager told me they were busy and to call back. I've called back several times and the phone rings without answer. I used to love Buckhorn, but I won't be back. By the way, I was having pregnancy cravings and drove 30 miles for this horrible food.

I’m all for tipping when it’s earned and transparent, but this approach lacks both clarity and fairness. I hope management reconsiders how this is handled, because it reflects poorly on an otherwise decent establishment.
