Seated outdoors and received this awesome appetizer - chips, salsa and guac - with a glass of Modelo. The waitress was very attentive and asked if I needed another glass of beer before it ran out. The salsa was awesome, with my favorite roasted peppers. Had a nice Sunday afternoon downtime at this place. Suggestion to the business owner: since this location is close to the Iron Horse Trail, if there was somehow a way to place secure bike racks nearby, that'd probably attract more traffic.
Bar Camino is now our go-to spot for everything! We've been here for a family dinner, and the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming for the kids. I recently brought a client for a work lunch, and the service was quick and professional. Most importantly, the food—from the fresh guacamole to the amazing tacos—is consistently fantastic.
I went here with a friend to celebrate my birthday. We had a celebratory drink and the food was amazing. It was very flavorful and filling. The ambiance was perfect and the fish tacos were delicious! The service was great and they were really attentive. I was my first time here and really enjoyed the experience. I look forward to coming back here the next time I am in the area.
Bar Camino offers a vibrant taste of Mexico with its authentic cantina-style atmosphere nestled by the creek. Their margarita menu is a highlight, boasting both blended and on-the-rocks options that cater to various preferences. The multiple mango variations add a delightful twist to the classic cocktail, showcasing the bar's commitment to inventive flavors. Pairing perfectly with their great tacos, Bar Camino provides a memorable dining experience where every sip and bite transports you to the heart of Mexico.
Having lived in Walnut Creek for so long, I’ve seen this site through several different restaurants dating all the way back to Cantina. After the recent closing of El Charro (thankfully) the Bar Camino has opened and it’s outstanding. They have updated the interior and also focused on outdoor seating which always plays well in this area. The food is upscale Mexican and so far, I’ve been here several times plus I’ve had “take out” for a multi family party. The quality is excellent, the service is excellent and I’m so happy to have a great restaurant back in this space. One bit of advice: try not to sit in the main section of the restaurant, as it is exceptionally loud. Try to sit in one of the side areas and it will be a much more enjoyable evening. Great experience at Bar Camino! We hosted an event last night for about 75 to 80 people. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was. The staff were extremely accommodating and attentive. They made sure all my guests were greeted and had drinks in hand within minutes of coming in. We had to add a few more dishes of food and they were able to get everything out for us very quickly. Would highly recommend for your next event, big or small! We have also dined there on a casual weeknight and always, great food and great service.
We booked a pretty big group for a private company event and it was AMAZING! Andrew was so easy to work with and got the reservation set up. Once we arrived, Ricardo took such good care of us. The food was incredible, everyone was so happy and full by the end of it! The drinks are delicious and there’s a lot of variety. Thank you so much for a great time! We will for sure be back!
We went to Bar Camino two days ago. Great place, good food, excellent service. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. This establishment has both indoor and outdoor sitting. I love the ambiance. Great choice of wall painting and interior lighting fixtures. We will definitely come back here again.
A great place to start your night out or have a casual dinner paired with delicious drinks. Friday nights are busy and id recommend a reservation, although we didn't have one we got lucky and they had a table for two almost ready (5 minute wait). Our server John/Johnny was attentive during our whole visit, able to give us recommendations on the drinks/food and seemed like he genuinely enjoyed his job. The green and red salsas both have great flavor and spice is on the medium side. From the dishes we ordered I would 10/10 recommend the shrimp tacos that have a hot spice level and are mouth watering. The green pozole is also a must try! Order the True Scratch Margarita if you aren't sure on which drink to order (thank me later). Also, sit outside if you want a more intimate setting. I hope you get the chance to visit this little charm soon.
I've been 3 times and they were all amazing!! Tonight I went with my partner and our waitress Rosa was AMAZINGGGG!!! At other restaurants I've noticed that the service will be lacking because my partner and I are young; but not here. I will definitely be coming back more consistently! I highly recommend coming for happy hour, the drinks are good but cheap and same with their "small bites". If you can, ask to be seated in Rosa's section for excellent service! Don't forget to leave her a nice tip.
Happy Hour is fantastic! $6 tacos but I highly recommend the shrimp tacos which are loaded with 3 fried jumbo shrimp, guac, cheese, pickled red onions and sauce. Two huge tacos for $12... Sounds pricey but they were delicious. The blueberry refresher was also super tasty! Birria tacos were also $6 each during happy hour but I feel that they were small and should be $4 each but it is served with consume. The chips and guac is also a good choice during happy hour. Vibes are great!
First timer here. Came to enjoy a Friday night dinner with my mom, it was a nice Friday night, we sat outside which was great. (Side note I noticed dogs were also allowed outside with patrons which I can’t wait to enjoy a meal with our pup one day!) service was attentive and very nice! I enjoyed a yummy strawberry mojito with some tortilla soup as my main, I forgot the names of the other dishes but here are some pics! And yes it was just as tastey as the pictures look! We will be back! Definitely recommend on checking this place out.

Absolutely amazing food. Strong mrgarta..😅 service is excellent. Michelle went above and beyond,we had lots of requwsts since we went there with our kud. Experience was great. Update: I didnt get the name of our server. He went above and beyond. Me and my girlfriends had a great time. We all had the margarita flight and they were all good.🥰

Visited Bar Camino with a party of 9. While the atmosphere was pleasant, the service was disappointingly slow—our food took over an hour to arrive. To make matters worse, we found two hairs in our dishes. The manager was kind enough to offer complimentary flan and drinks as an apology, which we appreciated. Despite these issues, the food was decent, but not remarkable enough to make us want to return.
I recently checked out Bar Camino for the first time and ordered the Quesabirria. The meat was very tender, and some fried cheese around the edges definitely added tastiness. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it had its own unique flavor and is easily the best that I’ve had in Walnut Creek. A thick, fresh salsa would have made it even better! I’ll definitely be back to try this again! Also, the flan was creamy and delicious!

The food and drinks were excellent. The only reason 4 stars versus 5 is the server, the kitchen and the bar made mistakes on our orders. But we will definitely give them another chance. Definitely try the loaded nachos, Chile relleno, and the burrito bowls.

The restaurant has a cool vibe, especially near the bar with music. Drinks were good, and the food was mostly good. I got the Baja Fish Tacos—the fish was great, but the toppings were under it, making the tortilla soggy and hard to wrap. The food took a while, but the waiter was cool.
I went with a good friend. I was pleasantly surprised with the restaurant. I can’t believe I haven’t been here before. We started with chips and salsa. The salsa dip was as expected, but the chips were a bit thick. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with mole sauce. That was satisfying but I have a feeling the mole wasn’t house made. She had the tacos and I think she didn’t quite enjoy that. She ended up only eating less than half. We had cocktails and those were just ok. Not as strong as I would’ve liked. Service was fine. The waitress frequently checked back especially at the end as if trying to get us to order more or trying to get us to vacate our table. Overall it was good. The atmosphere was upscale and inviting. They have a large patio area which would be cool to be in weather permitting. I would go back to Bar Camino. I give it 3.5 stars.
Food has gone downhill since opening. The burrito had a unique flavor and the chili relleno was amazing. All has changed; I recently had the relleno and it was entirely different and half the size. I later had the nachos and it was just food slopped on a plate. The bartenders are great but the glasses are often not clean. Very disappointing.
The chips are delicious. Unfortunately, they took the best item off the menu. Pork belly tacos, they were so delicious and that’s one of the reasons why we would eat at this restaurant all the time. Last time we were there we were told it was not available any longer so we ordered something else and it was a 2 or 3 star rating, definitely not going back regardless of how good the chips are, lol. Bring the pork belly tacos back!!!!!!

First time going to Bar Camino. We were so excited. The place looks super cute. I’ll start with why my review is 2 stars. Unfortunately, the our entrees were extremely salty. We ordered the TexMex Combo. I had them bring an extra crunchy taco. We are not people that shy away from salt by any means, but we did have to send the food back. They did make us a chicken quesadilla after we couldn’t eat our first round of food. That also came out too salty to eat. I got a stomach ache two bites into my food. I didn’t order a second entree. After reading through more reviews - this feedback is thematic. Recommendation to owners to talk to your kitchen/chef. This is a consistent call out through the Google Reviews. I didn’t catch it prior to dining in. The chips and guac were great. No complaints there. Also got a couple house margs. Totally fine. We got the chocolate cake for desert. It was fine. Of course the ice cream was a salted caramel. So again… salty. Service was excellent. Our server was very apologetic that we couldn’t eat our food. Truly tried to be as accommodating as possible. Also- didn’t charge us for those meals. He could not have been nicer. Shout Out to the amazing service. Interior could not be cuter. The vibe is awesome. Would be a better place to start the night for a few drinks. Maybe don’t do dinner. Pretty easy fix to adjust your recipes. Let me know when you do and we will be back!!
Not a good experience we sat down the waitress brought chips and guacamole without asking thought that was nice until the bill came and we had to pay for it I dont even like guacamole. Then we asked what drinks were available for happy hour they said lime or mango we picked mango only to find there was a $2 upcharge for mango so it was $9 per drink for happy hour all this wouldnt have mattered if they were up front I find all the charges deceptive and do not recommend this restaurant
