Love the new space, so roomy and open. Wasn't too busy for a holiday which was nice. Servers were friendly and fast. I recommend the birria taco, it was sssooo delicious! And the salsa Verde had a different taste and it was so good. We will Def be back loved the salsa bowls for chips and salsa, first time I didn't have to ask for more to go with the meal.

We moved to the valley in April and have been here multiple times. It’s our go-to place for date nights and to bring visitors. We love the mountain views and the service is great. Their food is always amazing and margaritas too (specifically the jalapeño guava margarita)!

Had a great meal here. The restaurant is new, clean, and has a beautiful patio where they do summer concerts on the weekend. Unfortunately, I went on a rainy weekday, but enjoyed it just as much. The food was good, but the only downside was the salsa. Tasted like tomato soup from a can, but the rest of the meal, drinks, and dessert was awesome. The dessert was so good that I couldn't help taking a bite before snapping a photo. Would definitely come back when I'm in the area.

Wow!!! This place is absolutely stunning. The food, the restaurant, the view — all of which cannot be beat!! Thank you Lucia for one of the best meals I have yet to have in AK!! These people know how to do Mexican!! The queso, bbq carnitas, and margaritas were our favorite, but everything we had was spectacular! Drooling still just thinking about it!

Great first visit here. Compared to the old location, the menu is much more straightforward and yet still offers some new things. (Brisket enchiladas pictured.) Bar seating is amazing and spacious, dining room has wide mountain views, and the main seating area doesn’t have the tables all jammed close together.

The new restaurant is a fantastic addition to our local dining options. It seemed to take a long time to build, but it was worth the wait. They offer a great selection of beers and spirits and the menu has been updated and expanded. And, frankly, I think the food tastes better now. The physical plant is new and beautiful. It a very fresh and classy vibe. And the wait staff has been trained very well. Their service was quick, courteous, and professional.

We went on a busy Friday night and our 45 minute wait time went to 20 minutes at next check and then 25 minutes the next check and then we were seated about 20 minutes later. Much busier than anticipated, but there was space for kids to run and play outdoors while we waited. Beautiful and modern design, spacious, and upbeat atmosphere. Our service staff was polite and prompt although one person in our party had their food delivered as we were all finishing. Without asking, the manager took that dish off our bill and personally apologized for the delay. I wasn't particularly upset at all about the delay, but appreciated the gesture that much more because it was offered not asked. Delicious fried ice cream! We will certainly return, but not likely to go on a Friday night.

It’s a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. But I t’s loud because it’s just wide open. The food was okay to good. Not excellent. But a solid American/Mexican option. Drinks were tasty. I’d eat here again if I were in the neighborhood but wouldn’t make a special trip.

Grabbed lunch at Chepo’s Mexican Restaurant and enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere. The marinaded chicken tacos were good as well as the creamy poblano soup. The Birria tacos were okay as well as the Ala Carte burrito.

Tasty shrimp ceviche, prompt service, and a good-sized menu. The actual restaurant had a great appearance and lively atmosphere too. Fajitas were just a bit too overcooked when they arrived at the table and weren't seasoned as much as I would've liked.

I went for lunch with 3 others. I was expecting the food to match the atmosphere of this Mexican restaurant which is like eating in some huge private Mexican villa. But, sadly, it was the usual chain type Mexican food. Our order of assorted appetizers came on one big plate and I couldn't tell what was what except for nachos that covered everything. I ordered a taco salad with beef and I was expecting the beef to be hot but it was cold. The shell was cooked nicely. The server was friendly and did okay. All in all it was ok. Maybe dinner will be nicer.

This place is beautiful inside and out. The menu offers great authentic dishes, however the food does not taste authentic or cooked right. We ordered a variety of meals and they looked good (except for one that came with what looked like peeled tomato wedges on top of his meal). I had the chile colorado plate, something basic, but still an authentic meal. It looked and smelled great, but the meat was very dry after biting into it. Such a bummer, I couldn't bring myself to even eat half of what was on my plate. I finished what seemed to be a 1/2 cup each of beans and rice spread out on my plate to look like it was more than 1/2 cup each. The flight of dips was interesting, the creamy jalapeño dip broke our chips everytime we dipped into it, lol; its definitely not dip texture, but tasted ok. None of the dips were spicy on the flight of dips. The normal salsa that comes with the chips were spicy and one that is not spicy. The not spicy salsa tasted like a can of diced tomatoes pureed and poured into a dip cup - no additional seasoning. The spicy salsa was ok, not too spicy. The restaurant had a few customers at the bar, and a few families seated. Not busy at all. This contrasted with the time it took to take our order, refill drinks, and bring the food out. My table of 5 had many conversations going on. Once I realized how much time had passed I looked around to see if the other tables had their food, but they also only had empty drink glasses and just on their phones waiting. It was comforting to know it wasn't just our table not being served, and it was probably just lack of wait staff and cooks. Other than the kids meal we ordered, the rest of our meals lacked in flavor tremendously. When we received our meals, one was missing along with sides of tortillas. It was awkward because everyone is hungry after such a long wait, but you dont want to be rude and eat in front of someone who still doesn't have their plate. That plate took a while to finally arrive, even though it wasn't a difficult meal to prepare. This place has so much potential, just need to get staff/cooks trained better. There is an ATM inside the lobby if needed. Restrooms and dining areas are spacious and clean. Nice atmosphere and elegantly decorated. I would love to return once seasoning is used in the food and meat is cooked without drying it. I'm cheering for you all who work here, you have what it takes to get this place going in the right direction. The staff seemed polite.

The atmosphere and views are INCREDIBLE here. This makes it very unfortunate that the food is NOT. Order a cheese enchilada or chile relleno? Expect the cheese to be solid, not melted. My Fajita Quesadilla looked great but entirely lacked fajita seasoning. Our waiter was amazing and the margaritas are also amazing. They are the only thing that keeps us coming back. Now we will plan on eating elsewhere before stopping here for a drink and the views.

So I ordered to go because I'm a diabetic who didn't have his insulin on ones self... I have a gripe though. I ordered shrimp diabla and got something completely different and even the portions seems miniscule compared to what my two other friends got. I have eaten here before and can say yes it isn't as good as the old Chepos but it's decent enough to go to for the restaraunt experience. This is unexpected from them and trust me, I'm pretty disappointed about my to-go meal. It's like ordering at McDonald's and having that messed up. For $38.50 I expected more... Maybe they are looking out after my figure... To have the meal completely wrong is not ideal though.

No cheese on my chimichanga even tho I specifically ordered a chicken and cheese chimichanga Also it is not $4 to add rice and beans even though that's what's advertised on the menu I worked in the food service industry for 5 years and I can tell management doesn't treat the front end staff very well. The girls at the front were very nice. The rice beans and pretty much everything else lacked flavor. I would assume it all comes out of a can. I should've just made burritos at home.

so the birra tacos have been really bad lately, absolutely no cheese which there's been lots of complaints about that even with other people and barely cilantro and onions :(

We walked into this restaurant and stood at the hostess stand for five full minutes while the hostess was completely absorbed in a painfully stupid conversation with another customer who was fumbling around trying to buy gift cards. Not once were we acknowledged. No eye contact. No “we’ll be right with you.” No basic human decency. Instead, we got to stand there like invisible idiots while the hostess entertained endless small talk and the customer, who was clearly aware other people were waiting, continued to ramble on without an ounce of courtesy. The lack of awareness from BOTH of them was honestly impressive. I don’t care if you’re selling gift cards, lottery tickets, or your soul—acknowledging waiting customers is the bare minimum in hospitality. A simple sentence would have solved this. But apparently that was too much to ask. After five minutes of being blatantly ignored, we left. If this is how front-of-house operates, I can only imagine how the rest of the place is run. Do better. Train your staff. And maybe remind people that the world does not revolve around their gift card purchase.

Pots roast isn’t a steak. It's advertised as a steak taco buy has shredded beef roast as the meat. Very salty and doesn't have a good flavor. They still charged me for the one I ate but not the other two I didnt touch. Now I'm off to find another restaurant and have dinner again since they didnt even try to make it right.
