Opinions de Rufe Snow Wing & Burger Watauga
Been wanting try this place out after passing it many times on Rufe Snow. I wish had done so sooner because it was absolutely delicious. They're wings are massive and fried Korean style making them extra crunchy and flavorful. And Chris is super friendly and helpful. I followed his lead and ordered 5 Garlic Soy and 5 Nashville Hot Level 3 wings with blue cheese dressing. It filled me up so well that I only was able to finish half lol. Give this place a try! Best chicken wings I've ever had
Really good wings!! The breaded soy garlic was the best flavor. Chris was fast and attentive.
I placed a simple online order of Cheeseburger and fries. I arrived early, and was offered a seat at the bar and a glass of water. The new ownership was active in the restaurant's operation, and every worker seemed to have a task to do. Clean and well run. The burger and fries were both still warm after getting home. The fries had a battered texture to them with a crispy bite. Very good! The burger was cooked to order (medium), and the cooks hit the mark. The bun tasted fresh, but it could be made thicker - because the bottom half of the burger turned soft more than I would prefer. Possibly toasting it would help? Neither the fries or the burger were over-seasoned, and I could taste the full flavor of them both. Overall I was very happy and think the food was quite good. I will definitely be back!
My mother and I were out shopping and decided to try somewhere new, and I’m so glad we did! When we walked in, it seemed like there was only one staff member working, but despite that, he had the best attitude and provided amazing customer service. He was friendly, communicative, and took the time to explain the menu along with some of his personal favorites. After looking everything over, we decided to order a little bit of everything. I’m not usually a burger fan or much of a red meat lover, but when I say this was the best burger I’ve ever had, I truly mean it. The burgers were a very generous portion size, fresh off the grill, and served on fresh buns that were perfectly toasted. The staff member recommended adding grilled onions, and that was absolutely the perfect addition — it took the flavor to the next level. I’m actually taking my fiancé back tomorrow just so he can try it! The wings were also delicious and definitely did NOT skip on spice. They had both of our mouths on fire, but in the best way possible — full of flavor with a great kick. The chicken fries had an excellent texture and a perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors. Overall, the food was outstanding, the service was exceptional, and the entire experience was a 10/10. If you get a chance, grab a burger — you won’t regret it!
This place is hands down our absolute favorite spot to go to. I’ve had wings in a lot of different states and at a lot of different restaurants, and honestly… nothing even comes close. The wings here are my favorite by a landslide. They’re thick, perfectly crispy, and breaded just right. The sauce ratio is spot on, and they come with their house ranch which just takes everything to the next level. Anytime there’s a game on, this is always the place I ask to go. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and go. You won’t regret it.
The food was incredible. Delicious appetizers (cheese curds and dumplings) Huge wings! Our server was beyond impressive! Immediately welcomed us and sat us in a booth, provided attentive service, excellent recommendations, chatted with us and made us feel special, handsome, the whole package. It's just a shame I can't remember his name...maybe it was Christian or Christoph? He looked just like a bald Brad Pitt and you can tell he works out, if that helps. We'd driven by this place for a long time and finally tried it. My sister, Franny, and I were so impressed with the food, but especially with the service from the handsome server. Never let him go! We will be back and certainly hope we get that man to serve us again 🙏 I want to try some of the wing flavours I couldn't try this time. Also, he recommended we come back on Thursday nights for trivia. I think we will! That sounds fun!
Best phuqing wings around! Shockingly good! We had Red Hot Spicy, BBQ Soy Garlic, Lemon Pepper, and Garlic Parmesan with a side of tots. First off, the tots were perfect. Crispy and crunchy brown but not at all burnt, and still soft inside. The wings were fried crisp and tossed in maybe the best sauces I've tasted, no exaggeration. This will certainly be my go to wing spot now.
I tried their Signature Cheese Burger with Potato Wedge Fries and tasted a bit of jalapeno cheeseburger with sweet potato fries my friend's got. All of them were beyond-my-expectation-super-tasty! Buns were soft and fluffy inside but they never got soggy until I finished them. And I don't know if it's the way the potato is cut or the seasoning but Wedge Fries were out of this world great! I also loved the original flavor breaded wings with a secret source on the side very much! Only one thing I didn't like was they didn't have any craft beer available in the halloween evening I visited because the restaurant was in the process of changing their beer distributor (???) A glass of IPA along with the great food would have made my dinner perfect 10 out of 10!
I stopped by for the first time today and placed an order to go for wings and curly fries. I was greeted quickly and received my order in a very timely fashion. Everything was perfectly cooked. The wings were some of the best I’ve had and the curly fries were also great. As I was waiting on my order, the atmosphere felt very relaxing. I’ll be returning for sure.
Tucked in a corner of a nondescript shopping center is a hidden gem of a burger spot. My wife and I went Sunday afternoon and it was relatively quiet, despite a small bar and football on the big screen. As a burger snob, I was having a tough time due to the number of interesting sounding burgers on the menu (kimchi burger, one with an egg and hash browns) so once the waiter realized it was our first time and we were struggling with wing flavors and burger types, he recommended a blue cheese bacon burger, two flavors of wings(breaded vs naked), and truffle parmesan fries. We took his advice and we're surprised at how great the wings were! The Korean-style fried wings were big, extra crispy and rolled in a BBQ soy garlic sauce that was amazing! We also had the Nashville hot, where you could request a great level and they were in a fantastic dry rub! That burger though.... Egg bun(which I wish was toasted in the grill just a bit) , fresh blue cheese, crispy bacon, and great beef patty. Chef's kiss! The Parmesan truffle fries were good, but paled next to the stars in the table. Grab you a cold draft beer or one of the MANY flavored margaritas and enjoy an fairly inexpensive night on the patio. We WILL be back.
Pros: Food's great. Service is great. The important things are great, no doubt. Burgers are big. Not "huge", but definitely ain't small. Cons: Make sure you don't sit at the booths which have these massive jbl speakers firing off above your head. Fairly certain I experienced some hearing loss and conversations had to be in the yelling range. Also, foods great but a little on the pricy side. You'll understand when you pay $14+ for a burger... fries and a drink NOT included... I think I got a $14 burger + $3.50 fries + I think $3 drink for $20.50 before tax, before tip. Ended up paying just shy of $30 after giving a 20% tip... My friend got a milkshake and water pushing him well over $30... Is it worth $30? I'd say no. But I like to support my local restuarants and having lived in NRH nearly all my life (22 yrs), yea, I'll eat the extra cost, and just enjoy the occasional night here. :)
We’ve passed by this place so many times and now regret waiting so long to try it. Jaeden was our server and she was amazing! She was so welcoming and friendly. She gave us recommendations from the menu and told us about their trivia and music nights. The food was delicious! My husband and I both got burgers and they were huge! The side portions were equally large. Their onion rings are so yummy. The price is fair definitely considering the portion size. The atmosphere is laid back and fun. We will be back to try their wings, tenders, and tasty sandwiches.
We came here after seeing good reviews on Yelp. I think we’ve driven by it a couple of times and didn’t even consider it. That’s changed now. This is a sports type bar but family friendly. From the time we walked in until we left the staff was amazing. They were friendly, helpful and nice! The portions here are huge! We started with beers that came out nice and cold. Then we tried their highly talked about fried pickles! They were delicious. We both ordered a 10 piece of the breaded wings. Those wings are huge and they cooked them perfectly. I had the lemon pepper and hot wings. Loved them! The onion rings were so good as well. Just a lot of food. We ended up taking 1/2 of it home. This is our new go to for wings. Can’t wait to try their burgers too!!
I had a fantastic experience at Rufe Snow Wings & Burgers! The burgers are outstanding—juicy, flavorful, and made with premium ingredients. I loved the wings, perfectly crispy and juicy in a delicious sauce. You can tell they care about quality and freshness, and the local ingredients really shine. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure my visit was enjoyable. The restaurant was clean and welcoming, perfect for sharing a meal with friends or family. Don’t miss their thick, delicious shakes—just ask for a shake straw! Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for amazing food and great service in Watauga. I’ll definitely be back!
Stopped by Tuesday evening for a pleasant surprise of music bingo. Fun! Fun! Plan to go back for Thursday trivia night. The burgers, wings, French fries and sweet potato fries are fresh, hot and delicious. Never frozen burgers. Excellent selection of wing flavors. The beer is cold, the staff is friendly and the food is very good. Music bingo Tuesday’s and trivia Thursday’s extra reason to stop by for a bite. Outside patio also is very inviting.
We always passed by this restaurant and never stopped by but we went for our first last Sunday and immediately got obsessed, the food is sooo good! The Nashville chicken sandwich with level 3 sauce is perfection! & the micheladas were so good which is rare! Today we went again and it was just as good. Highly recommend!! PS: service was a little slow but the wait was worth it 😋 our waitress was great! Will be back very soon😂🤤 Edit: added pictures from the first visit, it looks exactly the same other than adding ice to our miches lol.
Being a foodie, I always seek out locally owned restaurants. Did you know every dollar you spend in your local community, leads to more jobs, tax dollars being spent in your community and overall, 70 cents of that dollar remaining in your community. Consider this when you choose a national chain over your neighbors businesses. If you’re on the hunt for a culinary experience that tantalizes the taste buds while offering a vibrant atmosphere, look no further than Ruff Snow WNB. This gem of a restaurant has quickly become a favorite for food lovers, sports enthusiasts, and anyone in between. **Ambiance:** As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted by a lively sports bar vibe that’s perfect for catching the big game or enjoying a night out with friends. The decor strikes a great balance between casual and chic, making it an inviting spot for both a laid-back lunch or dinner. Live music options on certain days and times also exist. **Food:** Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the food. The gourmet 7 oz burgers are a must-try. Cooked to perfection, each burger is juicy and flavorful, with a variety of toppings that cater to all palates. Whether you prefer classic flavors or something more adventurous, Ruff Snow WNB has you covered. The Korean BBQ offerings are equally impressive. The fusion of flavors is a delightful surprise, and the dishes are beautifully presented. Pair your meal with their amazing naked or breaded wings, which come in an astounding eleven sauce choices. Whether you like it spicy or sweet, there’s a sauce for everyone, and the wings themselves are cooked to crispy perfection. For those looking for something lighter, the salads are fresh and vibrant, making them a great option to balance out the indulgent sides. Speaking of sides, you absolutely cannot miss the Nashville Fries and Truffle Fries. The Nashville Fries pack a punch with their spicy seasoning, while the Truffle Fries are a decadent treat that elevates the classic side dish. The sweet potato fries, tater tots, and beer-battered sidewinders are equally tempting, and the fried potatoes with cheese curd are pure comfort food. **Shakes and Drinks:** Don’t forget to save room for dessert! The shakes are rich and creamy, offering a perfect sweet ending to your meal. The drink menu is extensive, featuring a variety of craft beers and cocktails that complement the food beautifully. **Service:** The staff at Ruff Snow WNB are friendly and attentive, ensuring that your dining experience is enjoyable from start to finish. They’re knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations based on your preferences. **Overall Experience:** Ruff Snow WNB is more than just a restaurant; it’s a destination for food lovers and sports fans alike. With its diverse menu, welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service, it’s no wonder this place is gaining popularity. Whether you’re in the mood for a gourmet burger, mouthwatering wings, or a refreshing shake, Ruff Snow WNB is sure to satisfy. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their delicious offerings!
Very good clean burgers, burgers are almost half pound. wings were well cooked, crispy outside, but still nice juicy inside. Staff and servers were really nice and attentive. Definitely food-coma worthy. The shakes are delicious and thick, my only suggestion is getting shake straws :) regular straws were difficult to use with the shakes.
We came here for lunch on a Saturday. This is a Korean fusion burger and wings place. It was not busy. Service was good. For appetizer, we had the fried mushrooms - battered just right, delicious, and freshly cooked. We had their burgers- these were huge and YUMMY! Reg Fries and sweet potato fries were good. But the burgers are Amazing. Flavorful thick angus beef, cooked just as ordered, love- love the sliced pickles! They have tap beer, and margaritas served in a small mason jar. I feel the margarita is overpriced at $12 in a small jar. I do recommend coming here and ordering the burgers. We will be returning to try their wings!
We came there Saturday, I’ve lived down the street from here the whole time and never decided to come in till then. The wings and the burger were very good. In fact I’m eating some of the leftover wings today and they still taste great. Our only concern was that the tap beer, a shiner, and a bud light did not taste right. We both took drinks from our glasses and looked at each other and said these don’t taste quite right. We thought maybe they used a single tap system that maybe was mixing a little bit of the beers. But that’s not the case. I noticed the Bud Light was not clear had a bit os a haze to it, as well as the shiner looked like shiner, but it’s also had a bit of a different taste to it. We let the server know, she offered no thoughts or resolution, she just nodded, so we went ahead and drank them and then I ended up ordering a bottle of beer. Took a bit of the shine off of an otherwise good experience. One other item was the men’s bathroom could use some freshening up, maybe a bleach blast, smelled pretty bad
First visit: Tried the Bulgogi, wings, french fries and a Vanilla Milkshake. Bulgogi was not very good, seemed to be a little hard and was spicy. The wings were ok cooking and flavor-wise as well. That said, the best thing was the fries; hot, crispy, soft in the middle and very well seasoned. Lastly, the Milkshake was more of a double shot of Milk. And ironically, it had a good flavor even thought it wasn't very thick. It worked as is and is kinda like a Diet Milkshake. "I would actually go back for the Vanilla Milkshake." So, my first visit was disappointing; with the exception of the fries and milkshake. Consequently, I think the fries and milkshake alone are just about worth returning for. But, I still would like to try the Hamburgers which will make or break my final thoughts. Update: Burger patty and the bun were great. However, the tomato and pickles made the bun soggy. Also, the fries weren't as good as the first time. That said, the burger patty was perfectly seasoned as far as I can tell. But it's probably better to eat at the restaurant or get on the veggies on the side if ordering take out.
We've visited this place three times, and while the food is always good, the service is consistently lacking. Today, our server didn’t offer any menu guidance or recommendations, and almost delivered the wrong order. However, the food—especially the onion rings and wings—was cooked perfectly, and the portions are generous. The sports bar vibe is nice, but we prefer more attentive service when dining out. If you’re here for the food and atmosphere, you’ll enjoy it, but don’t expect top-notch service.
