Ahh, I think this place is good and reminds me of the city quite a lot. I love the shawarma they serve, as well as the gyros, wraps, and all the sides they have to offer! I usually stop by here most of the time with my beautiful significant other, and we both love this place dearly! The food is really good, and the service is excellent. Additionally, the atmosphere is cozy, and the music they play is great. It's the perfect spot for a casual lunch or dinner. Star Mix is the best! They make fantastic felafel. The lamb is great, too. It's always consistent quality and the owners are really kind people. My friends from out of town say it's as good or better than big city Middle Eastern food. You can't go wrong at Star Mix!

What's not to like here!! Owners are warm and welcoming. Place is nice and cosy, I have not seen it crowded, yet! I have tried their lamb chops, delicious! Mushroom steak is yum. And of course, the gyros! Kids love their mac and cheese too, a nice family place!

I love Star mix and their food so much. The owners are so wonderful and the food is crafted with clear passion and love. i recently came to find that alongside some fantastic falafel they also serve some of the best burgers oneonta has to offer. Today I happily ordered a burger knowing how wonderful it was going to be. While I waited, I was disturbed to hear a woman berating the staff about her “slimy” burger (that she ate in its entirety). I couldn’t believe my ears as she whined that her burger wasn’t dry enough (she requested that it be well done and nearly burnt, so we can all assume her taste was as wretched as her attitude). As unfortunate as this display of adult baby syndrome was, I felt inspired to finally write my long overdue 5 star review of this wonderful place.

Friendly people, ate in store and saw a lot of people getting take out, it's more popular than it looks. I'm allergic to milk, so I asked to replace the sauce with hummus and my Falafel Gyro was great, my friend got the Greek Salad and it looked delicious. Great prices. I can't wait to go back.

I'm from Philly and I just had my first "Philly cheesesteak" in the area from Star Mix. Its absolutely delicious and the price was perfect at $14. Feels like I'm back home. 10/10 will order again.

I can’t say enough good things about Star Mix. The food here is phenomenal and reasonably priced…not to mention very unique compared to other options in Oneonta. The owners are incredibly nice and are always willing to tweak the order to your liking. As others have said, it’s truly a gem of the ‘City of the Hills’ food scene.

I've worked in Oneonta for 2+ years and have wanted to try but never stopped in until last night...I have been missing out badly. Very nice people, ridiculously great food. The LOADED up Gyro was hands down the best I have ever had. The grape leaves were very good as well. 100% going to be on my rotation. So good!

I always order the same thing, mixed meat gyro. The gyro is super filled with meat so much so that you need to be prepared to make a mess of yourself and everything around you! No complaints on the size and amount of food that is given. And it tastes great! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to try something new and delicious or even looking for normal American fare like fries.

Absolutely great place! The food is amazing! They catered for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. We ordered a variety of bowls as well as a variety of the subs. The owners/chefs worked with us on any food allergy issues as well as had everything ready on time. Everyone raved about the food! We had chicken, lamb, steak and philly, as well as falafal options for everyone and everything was great. You don't want to miss this place.

Excellent food, excellent service. I had the chicken and lamb rice bowl. It was so delicious. Others in my party had chicken fingers, double cheeseburger, french fries, spaghetti bolognese, and the chicken rice bowl. Everything was great. What an excellent spot to find on our jaunt across America.

WOW what absolutely delicious food! I stopped in for a sit-down lunch with a lamb/chicken shawerma wrap and knew after one bite I had to order a second for takeout to enjoy later – it’s that good! The meat and veggie filling was generous and oh so tasty, and the wrap bread was flaky and perfect. And the wrap bread is seared on a grill, leaving brown heat stripes that adds a nice aesthetic touch. Enjoyed a fun chat with the great owner and staff and looking forward to a next visit.

We chose this place on a whim, and it was the right one. As soon as we walked in, the owners/staff greeted us and made us feel welcome. The place is clean and the bathroom spotless. No old fryer or cooking smells. The food was delicious! We got the falafel salad with extra feta and pita, the Mix rice bowl (chicken and lamb), with lettuce, tomatoes, feta, with homemade tzatziki and hot sauce. We also ordered the homemade hummus. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes you get. I highly recommend stopping in to get your Mediterranean food fix!

We decided spontaneously to go out to dinner tonight. After looking online to find a place to eat, we came across Star Mix Grill. I am so happy that we did. My husband had the lamb gyro and I had a chicken gyro. The gyro's were stuffed full of food and a good portion of that was meat. The food was fresh and HOT. It did not taste old like many places, where they cook food too far ahead. The meat was tender on each of our plates and our sides also came out hot. They were very hospitable and friendly. Its not often I leave a restaurant satisfied with the absolutely everything and I absolutely was when I left Star Mix Grill. Will be back again soon and will definitely refer friends and family to it as well. Great food!

Hands down this is the best place for gyros and mixed meats over rice in the area and easily resembles exactly what you would get in NYC! This is was my first time visiting this establishment and will now be my go to spot for my usual gyro and lamb and chicken over rice when in the area! While the gyros have been good, they can be overcooked at times and the default gyro feels like it has a bit too much included. The gyro dinner is a decent amount of food if you are looking for something very filling.

This is mainly a take out spot but there's seating for about 6-8 people. It's more of a take out sort of place than sit down and eat. Food is consistent. As a rubric, it's not as good as The Halal Guys but good enough for this little town for 4 stars in taste. My favorite is the lamb platter and mix sub. The falafel is a bit too dense for me but hits the spot. The folks at the counter, usually the lady but sometimes the man, are well mannered and smiles when greeting. Enough parking to grab your order and go. This place is on my family's list of regular take-out places in Oneonta, so I definitely recommend.

Family owned and operated, this place is a hit! Yummy food at a comparable price to other restaurants nearby. I usually pre-order my lunch, and it's ready in 10 to 15 mins. I take it to go because the eating area is a tad small. The chef and server are always pleasant! If you're tired of sandwiches and burgers, try a gyro or shawarma. We gathered. We experienced. Excellent sweet potato fries, falafel was very good. The lentil soup was just ok in my opinion. I wasn’t impressed with the baklava.

Very Americanized Mediterranean food. Ranch instead of tzaziki on gyros. The 'crepes' selections are made with tortillas (think quesadilla). Owners are nice though. And Greek salad is refreshing enough.

It's a circumstantial recommend. Food is very good but it's about on par with the best halal NYC food truck, not the best thing ever as some of these reviews suggest (although to be fair, I have been to Christina's in Toronto so maybe that has my expectations too high for mediterrainian food). Also the place smells like cigarettes so I recommend pre-ordering and doing take out so you're in and out in a few seconds. Still, solid take out if you need it, would take it any day over the garbage multi-national fast food next door. But if Feel Good Smoothie is open I highly recommend going there instead.

Visiting from out of state and decided to try this restaurant for dinner. Won’t be coming back - despite the positive reviews we found our food very disappointing. Most of all though the tzatziki seemed to be made of mayonnaise. We expected traditional flavors - Greek yogurt, lemon, dill, cucumber. This tasted like mayonnaise that someone waved a dill stem over and it was everywhere all over our gyros. It was terrible.

Stood at the take out counter for 20 minutes while someone in front of me was looking at the menu. Instead of asking them to step aside to take other orders, the staff left her there and waited. By the time I got to the counter, the counter staff went to help in the kitchen. So my order still wasn't taken. So i left.

I have never had such a bad tasting lamb gyro before, why were there cooked peppers and onions on it? Every other gyro i have ever had, had raw onions, no peppers. Past owners made great ones, current ones not so good.

Because of the reviews, I decided to order their chicken soup assuming it’s made by them. They definitely gave me canned soup with processed chicken and tried to make it look good with herbs they sprinkled on top. I also called in my order that should’ve only taken 10 minutes at most to put together. I waited another 10 minutes for them to microwave the soup from the can and package it up. I will never go back there.
