Had a wonderful all-around experience tonight at Morton's Steakhouse. The service at the bar was outstanding and the food was fantastic. We'll definitely be returning to Morton's on the next visit to West Palm Beach!
Absolutely amazing and probably the best steak I've ever had. I had the "Cajun ribeye" and it was cooked perfectly! Everything our server suggested was exactly what we wanted and enjoyed. Yes, it's expensive but I only turn 39 once and it was worth it to have the experience I had. Lobster Mac and cheese was delicious. The other sides were just as good the next day as leftovers 😋 If I was more successful in my personal life I'd come more often. Hell, take out a payday loan and go enjoy yourself! Ooooohhhhhhh, and that butter with the loaf of bread is ridiculously good!
From the opening of the front door to the exit of Morton's, the experience was first rate 5 ☆☆☆☆☆. Morton's in Palm Beach is like a step back in time. The decor and atmosphere are a classic modified late 60 -70's. Being slowly updating over the years without loosing the classic Rat Pack vibe. The restaurant was 3/4 full and you could have a conversation wich was refreshing. The menu selection has something for everyone. Whether your their for apps and cocktails or 4 to 5 course meal you will not be disappointed. Everything we ordered was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Steaks, Lobster and Crab were fantastic. The 5 desserts they had that night were fantastic. Each and every person working there that night could not have been more friendly or professional. They even validated my parking. 09-2023 Been there 2 times since 09-2023. The last time there, 08-2024 it seemed like it took forever to get everything. I don't know if it was a new server or the kitchen was just off a bit. There were no huge party's there and they were about 1/3 capacity. Don't me wrong, everything was spot on perfectly cooked and served as expected. It just seemed like we there forever. We sat closer to the kitchen than normal. It seems that they to do a fantastic to-go business. We had plenty of time to watch and make good conversation about it. When Richard is not there it just doesn't seem like the Morton's we have grown to love the past 5 years. 03/2025. Wow......this place never seems to let us down when we celebrate an occasion. The Land and Sea is always a great value. Just ask because it's not on the website or menu. They allow you time between courses and never feel rushed. Every vist is always a memorable occasion. 09/2025. Another memorable evening at Morton's. From the entrance, being met by the GM and Maitre d. Being escorted to the table and pulled out for us. All the wait staff 2 by 2 was nice. Perfection as expected. Everything for the table arrived at the same time. We were visited by Charlie multiple times to check on service and if anything was needed. A true gentleman. The onion soup was different tonight, a bit more pepper than usual. And a welcome change from other establishments take on a classic. All the Filets cooked as ordered. The crab cakes and lobster, sweet and tender. Again, cooked to perfection. The wait staff cleared and cleaned between courses without interruption. True professional service. Never having to ask for a refill of water or soft drink is refreshing. They came buy, set it down made eye contact and were on to the next task. I highly recommend Morton's in Palm Beach, you won't be disappointed.
We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the Morton’s in West Palm Beach. It was a fantastic experience from the moment we walked in. They had a special anniversary card on our table surrounded by little hearts. They took a picture of us and put it in a frame. The waiter was fabulous. There was a special menu for us, which was fabulous. A 6 ounce fillet, lobster tail two sides and a dessert were all included. And when I asked the waiter if a chocolate dessert were part of the package, he said no but yet when they brought our desserts, he had brought the chocolate lava cake and didn’t charge us anything. They also paid for a parking! Also, our reservations were at 5:30 however, traveling from Vero we arrived at 4 PM and in calling the restaurant Daniel the general manager said yes please come right over! We are familiar with Morton’s from the Reston, Virginia restaurant. So yes, we would definitely recommend this Morton’s. We want to thank everyone at Morton’s for making our anniversary very special 💕
Had an amazing experience at Mortons! Dan and his team went above and beyond to make our dinner special. From start to finish, everything was flawless — great service, delicious food and warm hospitality. Our waiter, Max, was also outstanding — attentive and friendly. He really helped make the evening even more enjoyable. We loved everything we had: the beef dumpling, shrimp Calabria, bacon scallops, lobster mac and cheese, truffle fries and Cajun ribeye (a must!). Also do yourself a favor and get the banana bread pudding! Can’t wait to come back — thank you again to the whole team for an unforgettable night!
Hadn't been here since 1998 and I have to say, food was exceptional and on point. The manager and staff were phenomenal and gave first class service. My husband and I will DEFINITELY be going back here and this place will always will be on our list. Glad nothing has changed after all those years!
Where do I begin? The private garage parking, the spacious dining room, the dark rich colors, the glowing of the candle lights. When you're seated, you are treated like a king, an aristocrat. You have a waiter who wants to serve you and make you happy; his purpose in that very moment is you, and that’s where his intention lies. He isn’t putting on a spiel; he is there to serve you and give you the greatest dining experience possible. The fresh white linen on your table, with the contrast of the gleaming silverware and the nice china, is a relief. You look around, seeing businessmen and couples giving reverence to this experience that you are about to have. The menu is like a giant tablet, describing amazing dishes that are kindly repeated in depth by your server. I feel like I'm in 17th century France in King Louis' court and Francis Ford Coppola’s "The Godfather." After a careful deliberation with your server, you order, and without haste, your appetizer comes—very large, ready to be feasted on—and the taste is just as colossal as the portion. Now this, sir, is a king's meal! Then your main course comes, and you are amazed. One can only fathom that the glory you see must be compared to the holy transfiguration on Mount Tabor with Moses and Elias. The food touches my mouth, and I feel what can only be described as pure bliss, the cosmos aligning as the glorious beasts sing in praise: "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!" But am I worthy? I am but a peasant, a speck of dirt on this earth. I bow down to you, oh glorious meal, championed for a celebration of my birth. And just when the darkness consumes me, I look up and I see a large man with a beard white as snow, a grey sport coat, dressed-up yet casual slacks, and a nice tie that is dated somewhere from the 80s. His spectacles speak wisdom as he speaks with a soft but firm tone. “How was your dining experience this evening?” I am overcome with emotion. I let him know how I feel; I’d really like to put the greatness of this place into perspective. I tell him my dreaded story of my perils of Okeechobee Steakhouse—a birthday ruined, me banished in shame—and we speak of the ribeye I ordered. With infinite wisdom, he describes to me what exactly I was tasting—the lack of flavor and how at times there is an overcooking of the strip side of the porterhouse while the filet side comes out amazing. And he said that the steak I was expecting I probably enjoyed a Wagyu steak, which was what I was used to, and the dry-aged steak would have fallen short if I was expecting a Wagyu cut. YES! This man was right. The steak I ordered was wrong. He said I could have ordered a bone-in “filet” and a separate strip and kept them at perfect temperatures. But he also said, "If for any reason you didn’t enjoy those two options, let that fault be on us and let us do anything to make you feel comfortable and happy." Wow, what a relief. As I held back tears, I nodded, and holding my burning bosom, I mouthed, "Thank you." And he finished, "When you're great, there is no need to fight, no ego needs to be protected. Your product speaks for itself, and your product is you. We are here to serve our guests, and we will do that because to serve brings out the greatness in all of us. Happy birthday. Enjoy your meal." And he walked away. Just a moment later My chocolate lava cake arrived with two scoops of ice cream, not the usual one, because we asked if we could buy an extra scoop. The server said, "We wouldn’t dream of charging you for an extra scoop of ice cream." The candle lit up the room, my beautiful girlfriend smiled and gave me a kiss, saying, "Happy birthday," and we dug in. The cold vanilla crème mixing with the deep, rich hot chocolate had me melting into my oversized leather bench seat. A triumphant ending to an iconic meal. I felt like a king, that my reign is just on this earth, and that my day of birth is celebrated in heaven as it is here on the throne in the terrestrial lands.
Currently here as I wrote this review, thats how amazing this isssss! A great way to celebrate my 30th birthday! Dinner was amazing! First time trying out this restaurant and I must say we will be coming back. I definitely felt special walking in. The manager we saw, Tyler, was friendly and introduced himself. Mike and Barney were awesome servers and the customer service was the best we’ve received in a long time. The food was delicious and Tyler suggested a red wine to us. I personally don’t like red for the tart taste but after tasting it I now have my first favorite red wine. I am glad this was the restaurant that helped make me feel special on my birthday amid the pandemic thats happening. Great dinner to top off a great day! Thank you so much Morton’s Steakhouse! We will be back again soon! P.S. Thank you for the Key Lime Pie! ☺️ Definitely the best
I had the pleasure of eating here last night, I ended up with the Wagyu Filet(cooked perfectly) and Lobster Mac n Cheese. We also tried the bacon steak appetizer, if you are on the fence about it..... Just get it, it was amazing. Lacey was our server, she was excellent and professional I highly recommend her if possible. This was my second time dining here, my first time was in Scottsdale. Service at this location was elite , that's why I took time out of my busy day to recognize them.(Scottsdale was still good service) I did not get a picture of my food prior to eating it unfortunately, it looked too good to wait. Thanks Lacey, Nate and the Bartender. I did not get his name.
Great atmosphere food was amazing. Waitress was great.
This place was great, delicious food, great service even though it was very busy, we went on Christmas day and we loved it. Everything was on point and lets not forget about the desserts, the kids loved it, highly recommended
Joseph was our server & he was exceptional! This was my first time & he guided me to the most delicious meal of the Cajun ribeye with Oscar crab & asparagus. Couldn’t go against his guidance after that & he nailed it again with the hot chocolate cake to finish off the night. Not one negative thing to critique on this trip. Sagamore rye was the best whiskey in the flight
The staff made our Anniversary celebration so special! From Charles the Manager, our fabulous server, Justin to the hostess taking our photos to preserve our celebration along with a printed menu. It was all a wonderful experience. Thank you for celebrating with us.
Amazing bone in ribeye w blue cheese. Every bite of the Lobster mac n cheese was delicious. Cheesecake with Blueberry sauce and coffee.
Excellent dining experience! Filet was awesome. They serve to please, excellent service!!!
Richard seated us and he was exceptional🥹🧡 He took our photo making it a memorable experience. The food was exquisite again like in Houston. We had the meatballs and rib eye steak! Superb! Chefs kiss 😘 thanks for having us and check out our music @thapeaceofmind @lovefruitblossoms on streaming platforms 🩷
I was there for a conference dinner, and enjoyed every aspect, from service to food and ambiance. A very good NY strip!
We had an amazing anniversary dinner. Holly was truly exceptional and went above and beyond to make it even more special!
As a first time visitor on a date night, the experience could not have been better! The food was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked. Our server Carissa was exceptional. I can honesty say this was the best dining experience I have ever had.
Exceptional Service by Annette Annette made our experience at Morton’s truly unforgettable. From the moment we were seated, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly professional. Her knowledge of the menu was outstanding—she offered thoughtful recommendations and explained everything with confidence and care, making our selections easy and perfect. What truly set Annette apart was her attention to detail and genuine hospitality. She anticipated our needs without ever being intrusive, ensured our drinks were always refreshed, and timed each course flawlessly while celebrating my ANGELS collegiate achievements and graduation. It was clear she takes pride in delivering top-tier service and making guests feel valued. Because of Annette, our evening felt elevated and seamless. She represents the very best of fine-dining service, and Morton’s is fortunate to have her. We will absolutely request Annette again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Highly impressed and grateful
Amazing food. Annette was so attentive, personable, and sweet. Charlie the manager checked in with us as well. They even treated us special for our Anniversary. The Ahi Tuna was on point. Everything was delicious. Loved their bread. Will definitely tell our friends.
My family and I are staying at a nearby hotel and decided to check out Morton’s. We lucked out because it’s Flavor of South Florida month, and they had a great deal going on for September. Our server, Holly, was super friendly and really knew her stuff. My daughter and husband both have gluten allergies, and she made me feel completely confident that their meals would be safe. Everything was delicious, and the whole experience was great!
I dined at Morton’s last night and had the absolute pleasure of being served by Holly. From start to finish, she made the entire experience exceptional. Holly was warm, attentive, and professional—always checking in at the perfect time without ever making us feel rushed. She knew the menu inside and out, gave fantastic recommendations, and made us feel truly cared for throughout the evening. It’s rare to receive service that makes a night out feel so special, but Holly absolutely delivered. Morton’s is lucky to have her, and I’ll definitely be requesting her section on my next visit!
Went to a private event at Morton's and had such a great time! The food was incredible, and Holly and Jordan took great care of us. I'll admit, I know Holly outside of work, so I might be a little biased — but she's awesome!
I’ve always loved Morton’s and on my last visit Holly took great care of me. She had a wonderful smile and such a warm, friendly personality. She’s definitely a keeper!
We came to celebrate a birthday dinner. While there were a few small mistakes along the way, Holly and Charlie went above and beyond to make it right. Their service was excellent, and thanks to them we’ll definitely be back.
5 out of 5 experience. Charlie and Pedro for making my daughter's birthday a millionaire experience. This my new favorite special occasion spot. Definitely get the wagyu meatball app, steak, and asparagus. Dessert is lava cake or creme brulee. Bring your wallet. And a light...kind of dark in there 😄
The service was top tier. Thomas was absolutely outstanding and very attentive. To top it off the food was amazing.
***READ BEFORE YOU GO*** Let me start by saying we had a reservation of 12 guests. Then our party increased to 15. The staff was quick to accommodate and professional. Detail-oriented and absolutely phenomenal. This was a surprise dinner for my wife, and the Mortons' family did not disappoint. Amelia did a wonderful job. They handled our reservation and table like true professionals. I have over 10 years of hospitality experience, and this is what it's all about! Please just ignore all other reviews if you are wondering whether to go or not. Please go, you will be thankful you did!
We went last night to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We had a reservation for 12, but unexpectedly had 3 extra guests join us. I was so nervous and felt terrible about the surprise change, but the staff and manager were incredibly understanding and went out of their way to accommodate us. They reassured me everything was fine and made us feel completely welcome. The food was absolutely phenomenal, and the service was amazing. We’re definitely coming back!
We had an awesome Thanksgiving! Holly was super friendly and totally made our day! You should hire more dedicated, bubbly workers like her!!
We celebrated my mom's birthday last night and had such a wonderful experience. The food was great and Holly made my mom feel truly special 😇
We had a great dinner last night! Holly was super friendly and really made us feel cared for.We we definitely come back and ask for her.
Amazing place, service and environment was top notch. Holly was a great server, remembered everything and made sure the table was taken care off. Amazing place. Thank you.
Always a great experience! I went there tonight for Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend and we had the most amazing meal! The food was delicious and cooked too perfection as always! What really made the experience was our server Holly! She was very sweet and attentive! It really was our pleasure having her serve us!
Evening started off poorly. We sat for more than 40 mins with only bread delivered to the table. Everyone else around us were being served and checked on regularly. After we got Charlie, the manager, he assigned Max. Max's service and attention to our needs redeemed the evening and earned Morton's the 5 stars. We plan to give them one more try to see if they can earn a full 5 star review.
Morton’s is located downtown West Palm Beach. Due to exterior construction it is easy to miss if not paying attention. On this particular evening the restaurant was not busy at all and we were seated immediately. Our waitress Jordan was very friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance is dark and sophisticated with dim lighting throughout the restaurant. We began with Espresso Martinis which were delicious. Since this was our first time dining there, I ordered the Morton’s Classic Filet and my guest had the Miso Glazed Sea Bass. The Filet was cooked perfectly and very tender. However the Sea Bass was disappointing for two reasons. Either it was previously frozen due to a slight after taste or overcooked. Neither should have been my guest’s experience since they absolutely love Sea Bass. The Manager was courteous and professional by acknowledging the potential mistake. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. However, we have not decided if we will return in the future. In the likelihood we do; we will probably try another cut of steak rather than their seafood.
We had a reservation for 2/21 and it was my wife’s birthday. I made sure that they knew it was her birthday when making the reservation. There was zero acknowledgement of her birthday from the wait staff which was disappointing. The service was slow even though the dining room was not busy. We noticed a sign by the hostess stand about a dress code stating that it was business casual yet people were in t-shirts, shorts and hoodies. What is the purpose of having a sign if the dress code is not enforced?!? There was no vibe to the place - just a bunch of tables smushed together, very vanilla. My wife had the filet which she liked and I had the ribeye which was ok. We ordered Brussel sprouts and button mushrooms as the sides and they were good. There is no valet service but they validate for the parking garage across the street…however we still got hit with a $10 charge for parking after we paid $387 plus tip as the validation doesn’t pay 100% of the parking. Lastly we had the wagyu meatballs and prosciutto wrapped mozzarella appetizers. The meatballs were overcooked and very crunchy on the bottom and hard to cut through (see photo). The prosciutto mozzarella had no real flavor at all. *edit* Morton’s - why do you want me to go and write the same review on the Landry’s page? It had bulleted answers, some of which do not apply or give enough options and a limited area (by number of words) to type in details. It honestly was a waste of my time to visit the url you provided. We have visited Morton’s many times in the past at different locations across the country and this was by far the worst experience at a Morton’s. We would not go back to this location but would try the Boca location in the future. If that doesn’t pan out we will stick to Ruth’s Chris and write off Morton’s completely. **another edit** I talked to the General Manager after this experience and he invited us back. We came in and had a great experience, no issues with food quality or service. I had the shrimp cocktail and a ribeye and both were amazing. My wife had the filet and enjoyed it as well. We ordered a bottle of wine and it was the perfect match for our steaks. The General Manager took our comments to heart and really worked to turn around the experience we had originally. We would definitely go back at this point as we feel they are on the right track and appreciate their customers more than we originally ally thought. This was during our anniversary and they laid our hearts on the table and really went all out to recognize this special occasion for us. It was well done (no pun intended!!).
We celebrated my spouses 30th birthday while in Florida. While I had made a reservation online with OpenTable there was a bit of a glitch and it did not show, so I made a second one. I received w phone call from the restaurant verifying the date and time. When we arrived our reservation could not be found, however we were quickly seated and some birthday decorations were brought over. Charlie was so sweet and even took a picture of us and put it in a little frame. That alone made up for the small reservation hiccup. The restaurant was very nice, although a little dark. The steak was overall good, maybe not the best that I've had but the lobster mac n cheese was delicious! Best side I have ever had at a steakhouse. Very nice atmosphere and service. Miss having them in Louisiana!
Best steak I’ve had in years. Service was pretty embarrassing. Basically forgotten about and ignored the entire experience.
We were honestly a bit underwhelmed by Morton’s Steakhouse, especially given the price point. The tomahawk steak was excellent—flavorful, well-cooked, and easily the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the sides didn’t live up to expectations. The Parmesan truffle fries were bland and lacked flavor, making them hard to justify at that cost. The Brussels sprouts were just okay—nothing memorable, and honestly, the ones at Food Shack blow them out of the water. The drinks were solid: my wife enjoyed a watermelon martini, and my smoked Old Fashioned was well done. Service was great—everyone was friendly, attentive, and helpful—but even with that, we probably wouldn’t return. Overall, it felt overpriced for food that was mostly just okay.
WPB Morton’s - Extremely Disappointed We have been going Morton’s for over 20 years all over the US. We made the drive south to visit the WPB location expecting the same quality experience and left saying we would never return. We sat at the bar and felt something was off from the beginning as our bartender took forever to cash out the group that had finished their meals for over 15 minutes. After they left we took their seats and waited for our order to be taken. The food took way too long to be served and it was evident that it sat for a bit before we finally received it ….wasn’t the right temp. The bar staff seemed more worried about loading the dishwasher, clearing empty tables and chatting than attending to their bar customers. Literally every person seated to our left and right had issues with their food or getting served. I don’t take writing negative reviews lightly, but hopefully this will “wake up” management to demand a higher level of service that Morton’s has historically delivered. We will not return, many options that take fine dining seriously!
We really wanted to like Morton’s Steakhouse. We came in hoping for a classic, satisfying steakhouse experience. Unfortunately, what we found fell short of expectations. The atmosphere feels dated—but "timeless classic" in need of a refresh. It has that steakhouse vibe, which can be charming but dark woods and black walls and dimmed lights not my cup of tea. The service was the biggest letdown. Throughout the evening, attention was inconsistent, and we found ourselves waiting far too long between courses and for basic needs like drink refills or check-ins. For a restaurant in this price range, attentive and polished service should be a given—it simply wasn’t there. As for the steaks, while the menu offers a good selection, the execution and quality didn’t match the price tag. The meat was fine, but not exceptional, and at this level, “fine” just doesn’t cut it. You’re paying premium prices for an experience that doesn’t feel premium. Honestly, if you’re craving a great steak in the area, you’re better off heading to Okeechobee Steakhouse. The food, service, and overall value there are far superior. Morton’s has the bones of a great restaurant, but it needs serious attention to both service and ambiance to live up to its name.
I visited this location yesterday evening and was seated at the bar. While the food and atmosphere were great, I was disappointed by my initial experience with service. Upon sitting at the bar, I was told by a female bartender with blonde hair that she was too busy to assist me at the moment, and I waited without acknowledgment. Shortly after, a group of guests arrived and received immediate, friendly, attentive service. During this time, my presence was spoken about as if I were not sitting there. At one point, the bartender suggested that she could “make me move my bag” so other guests could sit down. This was said while I was seated there and had been waiting for service, which felt inappropriate and unprofessional. A simple, polite request would have been sufficient. I did correct her on her poor choice of words and lack of customer service towards me. Thankfully, Jordan, another bartender, stepped in and provided excellent service. He was attentive, kind, and professional, and completely changed the direction of my experience. He deserves recognition for his customer service. What stood out most was that other guest, noticed the difference in treatment as well and were kind enough to offer me a drink—something that should have been handled by staff, not guests. I understand that servers may sometimes prioritize guests they believe will tip more, but every customer who enters an establishment is spending money and deserves equal respect and courtesy. I did share this feedback with management, as I hope this is addressed moving forward. Overall, the food was great, but consistent and respectful service should be standard for everyone.
We dined here 3 nights ago to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and left very disappointed, especially for a high-end steakhouse with such a strong reputation. We had a 7PM reservation but weren’t seated until about 7:30 PM. Service felt rushed and unwelcoming from the start. Our server did not explain menu items, steak sizes, or preparations, and rarely checked on our table. He also didn’t ask about toppings, doneness satisfaction, or how our meal was overall — which is basic service at this level. Both steaks were underwhelming. One was not cooked as ordered, and both lacked flavor. We eventually felt uncomfortable continuing to speak up. What made it worse was feeling like we were treated differently from other tables around us. As minorities, that feeling is hard to ignore — especially on what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner.I did speak with a manager onsite and received a $50 credit, which I appreciate, but it didn’t address the overall experience. I also submitted a complaint and have yet to hear from the owner or GM. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because the service and quality did not match the restaurant’s reputation.
A man with glasses, about 40 years old, told me to get out of the way, that I was in the middle according to him, and I was in a corner waiting for the customers' food! Saying that I have to leave the restaurant to wait outside, in other words, he didn't want me inside, that the front desk is for the guests. I am providing a service to the guests of this restaurant! Delivering their food to their home! And he treated me like crap, really, these people have no education or respect for people, they really don't provide bad service!
Ordered Dinner 3 weeks ago, got lamb chops that were not cooked.. I have been waiting 3 weeks for a refund, corporate & the location I ordered from have not gotten back to me with anything.. They do NOT take food safety seriously … STAY AWAY!
I wanted to enjoy my night at Mortons but the service was absolutely horrendous! The waiter Jaime is by far one of the worst waiters ever. Maybe he purposely avoided our table. It took an hour to get our food while others who came in after us received their food before us. I hate to use the race card but what would be the reason a white party of 10 would get their appetizers & entries before a party of 2 when they came in 30 minutes after us. Definitely won't be back. Not begging an establishment to take my money. I'll happily continue to go to Eddie V's. Better service, better food & it's not jammed pack with senior citizens.
I had a reservation. First Xmas dinner with my son and friend very poor customer service was more the manager was more worried about my son wearing a hat then customer service mind you her appearance wasn’t up to par at all for management the restraunt old and outdated terrible customer service we definitely won’t be returning Morton’s should look into investigating in it appearance and hire better management with better customer service skills
April 2025… Been to Morten’s several times all over the country and this was the first time bad experience. Was on vacation with the family in west palm beach and wanted a high-end steak dinner which Morten’s has always been in my multiple experiences. Everything started out great as usual. Server was great, host polite and sat us immediately after walking in with my family of 5. Place was completely empty which may have been a reflection of what was about to happen. My kids love the tomahawk so of course we order that and a few other steaks, sides and salads to all share family style. As soon as that tomahawk comes out my youngest claims the bone and as soon as he bites he stops and says “this thing stinks like our dogs butt”. The bone and tomahawk meat had a smell of literally poop. The server came over and I said I think there is something wrong and she explained to us the chef said “wow this is a stinky bone” before he cooked the steak and it was normal. My family has eaten several tomahawks and have never smelled a “stinky poop bone”. Now the manager gets involved trying to justify that this is normal without any legitimate explanation. I told her that we had no intention of eating the steak since we can’t even stomach the smell and I don’t want my family to get sick. She pretty much tried to insinuate that I didn’t know what I was talking about and must not be familiar with eating steak. We could over hear the chef in the open kitchen saying the same thing and throwing dishes around very angrily now. We completely lost our appetite and felt extremely uncomfortable. We left pretty much all the food untouched and they at least took the tomahawk off the bill. All they really had to do was apologize, take the smelly steak back and cook us a new one. Not tell us that the crap smell was normal and make us feel like idiots! I tried to contact Morten’s corporate office and they told me that this is a serious issue and my case “would be escalated” but it’s now been over a several months and zero response. So I wanted to share my experience to the public. A restaurant that seems to hold themselves at such a high standard should be ashamed. Mistakes happen. Own up to them and move forward. I gave them a chance to do this and they failed.
