Great breakfast after camping trip at Lake Whitney State park. We had the Texas skillet, sausage skillet, french toast, eggs 🍳 & grits. Biscuits & gravy was yummy. 😋 All food hit the spot. Nice country restaurant vibe. Service was attentive. Place was packed.

If you’re looking for a home cookin feel or to dine in a family atmospheric restaurant with all things “TEXAS” you came to the right spot! This morning, Liz went above and beyond in providing excellent care, top notch service and delivered upon us suggestions on items off of the menus (pie pantry and breakfast options) and we trusted her advice. Boy were we happy!! Every bite hit the spot and we are lucky to have stumbled into this beautiful establishment with lots of friendly faces that will soon feel like family! Don’t miss out on this superb dining experience!

This place is known for its pies for many reasons. #1 they are good. It is a good place for a good meal for Breakfast, lunch or dinner. I have been here for each. And if you’re lucky you might just see Chip and Joanna Gaines here with their children eating a meal. We have a couple of times. We didn’t today, but we got to enjoy a good meal.

Great home cooking place playing classic country music. Best hamburger steak around. Had be be 2/3 pound. Chicken fry, fried pork chops and breakfast are excellent too. Good tea! Coconut pie is off the hook.

Stoped in for lunch and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the food is very fresh, gave me a my mom cooked this vibe. Be sure to save room for at least two slices of pie because there are so many to choose from and they are very tasty!!

They have a wide variety of menu items to satisfy just about any craving, always keep everything cleans and staff is good to keep orders rolling quick for carryout! I went to this cafe to order something to go and the staff greeted me quickly and very friendly. The food was packaged well for travel. There was plenty of tables situated apart where people were not crammed up against each other. Is was a very comfortable atmosphere; my next visit to this area I will definitely sit inside while I dine. Everything was seasoned well and tasted very good.

Chicken Fried Steak and the pork chops and all the sides were great. Wanted pies but didn't seem to have any we wanted. Only cream pies that others said tasted like marshmallow cream. Maybe next trip will have meringue pies.

Could have been a little more crispy but the flavor was really good. The homemade chips were something we both recommend. Service was friendly and helpful. Overall, highly recommended two thumbs-up 👍 👌

Good Food at a fair price. I was impressed with their iced tea, large menu, in house made pie selection and that they serve breakfast all day. I wouldn’t recommend their breakfast sausage. The biscuits aren’t the best that I’ve had but I do believe they make them in house. You have to ask for jelly and they will bring you a nice assortment of packets. I went twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. It would be nice if more of their food was made from scratch, especially the mashed potatoes. I don’t think any of their potatoes are made in house. A lot of their menu is frozen for deep frying. The vegetables are canned except for broccoli if you can get it but they do doctor them up. Service was good although I didn’t get my broccoli until after I was finished eating so I took it home with my other leftovers. A basket of bread comes with your dinner. Warm rolls and Texas shaped corn bread. Real Butter on the table in little packets. Ask for honey and they will bring you those packets as well. I actually liked the honey. I’m giving 4 stars instead of 3 because for a small town, it’s a nice restaurant with a varied menu and the people were friendly. Unique decor as well.

Nice food! This is located in a strip mall. We had been buy several times but never noticed as it only says "cafe" on the outside. It is worth the stop and I can see why it rates so might higher than the other options in town. The bacon cheese fries had real cheddar cheese, (none of the date cheese sauce) and real bacon (not the dried up kind). The other things we ate we're also tasty and good. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. I also have to say our wait staff was great too.

When I think of country cooking and cafes I never think instant mashed potatoes. This could have been 5 stars all around, but it should state instant potatoes on side board and the waitress was right there when I tasted them and asked her these are instant potatoes and she was like yep. Like no big deal which wouldn’t be if I were at a fast food restaurant but I thought I was at a country cafe. Very disappointed and for her not to offer to switch the side I thought was bad customer service when I said I can’t eat instant potatoes. Lesson learned even when you think everything is home cooked always check before ordering.

Maybe we had breakfast on an off day for the cook, we did not have a good experience. Food was all undercooked, found a hair in my food and the portions were small. Had ordered a side of three eggs and got what looked like one for close to $5. The service on the other hand was good. Not planning on stopping for food again given the price and quality of food that we had.
