Did not know any Marie Callenders existed. It was a pleasant surprise to find one and enjoy the chicken pot pie, their famous cornbread and of course pie!

This is a shout-out to Eric who is the seasoned server extraordinaire who was more like an attentive concierge to all of us in the dining room. Eric made our two recent visits simply delightful! My stepdad had not been out to a restaurant or anywhere else in public for that matter due to a 2-month stay in the hospital from open heart surgery. Our first two breakfast outings were the first for him in many months, and the service Eric provided was top notch! Eric is an absolute master at making his guests feel welcome, cared for, and special. He has the most warm and kind personality, consistently anticipating our every need. More hot coffee? You got it. Delicious breakfasts exactly the way we ordered? Absolutely. A table in a location that accommodated my elderly parent? Right this way. This gentleman is celebrating 28 years dedicating his time and efforts to serving people in a way that generally goes without much recognition--helping to make mealtime with a family member or friend a joyful, relaxing, happy experience. Eric called other customers by their names, kept an upbeat and positive vibe as he joked with his co-workers, and conversed with us as if we were beloved neighbors who were regulars at the place. Eric truly has THE BEST personality and he just radiates with genuine goodness. You can tell he loves what he does, and he is great at it! Additionally, our breakfasts were top notch. Everything tasted delicious, was perfectly seasoned, and came out nice and hot. I had one of their omelets one day, and the week before I think I tried the California Breakfast Scramble. Both were amazingly good! Congratulations to Eric on celebrating 28 years of being an awesome asset to Marie Callender's. For over 13 years I worked for one of the most notorious companies around known for their impeccable service. I know fantastic service when I see it, and Eric exudes the qualities that are required to provide it. Our family would return to this location in a heartbeat simply because of him (we were in the area next to the hospital for doctor's check-ups) and want to thank him dearly for treating us so well. My stepdad truly enjoyed his two breakfast outings to Marie Callender's, a BIG DEAL as he timidly tries to rejoin the world little by little (he is almost 85.) Eric, if you see this review, I hope you know the part you played in being such a sweet blessing and making us feel so comfortable. Thank you for the incredibly stellar service. My family and I dined here for lunch following a funeral and although the occasion was sad, the service was absolutely wonderful! Maricela was our lead server and she went ABOVE & Beyond with taking care of our 40+ group making sure to meet every request. She was patient, friendly, warm and just lovely. The pies and cookies are some of my favorite treats, always fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself may feel a bit old, and the service can be hit or miss at times, but the friendly staff makes up for it. Additionally, the cold beers are a perfect complement to the hearty meals. Despite its quirks, I enjoy visiting this Marie Callender's for good food, cold beers, and indulgent desserts. It's a charming spot that continues to offer the classic dining experience many of us cherish.

To be honest, last time we were there, about a year ago, the food, everything was lousy. So I was apprehensive about going back. It was so great this time!! We will absolutely be coming back!

I love their pot pies. We had really great customer service. The young lady that took our order was very busy but still checked in gave us refills before 1st ones were done. Very nice young lady. She knew at just the right times to come to our table. My daughter liked that she handed her a menu as well. Of course, my banana cream pie hit the spot!

Haven't been to Marie Callender's in a while and it's good to be back. Wife and I split the Frisco Burger and fries and it was perfect. Also got chile and cornbread for lunch the next day. Nice local vibe too.

Great staff! I brought my daughters car for an oil change near Marie Callendars! I decided to have breakfast while I waited for her car. I arrived a few minutes before 8:00am the manager let me in because it was cold outside, he was so sweet ! The staff was very welcoming! The staff is really nice & they all have a smile on their face! My food came right away! Great service I will definitely come back!

Our server Erick O. made our day. Often (not always) we've found that at this time of year (Christmas) lots of people in the service industry are just "over it" and it shows. The service industry can be unforgiving. However, Erick was cheerful, attentive and made our meal that much more enjoyable. Service is always great here. It's the only location that offers a muffin as your bread choice without charging an outrageous upcharge. The servers are very attentive and the food oh so fresh.

After a stressful 16 hour work shift being a caregiver , my boyfriend and I sat at a booth and were greeted by the most extraordinary server of all! Eric’s radiance and attentiveness was UNMATCHED! We had the salad bar, big pot pie and an omelet and everything was great. Our Server Victoria Magallon was very pleasant and made our dining experience more enjoyable. She deserves a raise. We will be back to have her serve us again.

Very thankful that our Marie Callender's is still up and running. Holidays wouldn't be the same without them pies. They set up really good for the holiday season during this pandemic with social distancing. The lines might look long however they move very quickly. It is definitely worth the time.

Our Waitress was Amazing. She gave us such great service and went the extra mile to make us feel welcomed.First she asked us if we'd like free corn bread to start. So Yummy then took our orders and let me tell you I ordered a parmesean sourdough meatloaf sandwich she offered us a grilled jalapeño to go with it. Wow talk about a flavors that make my mouth water and my taste buds come alive!! Yum,yum!!! AND IF YOU'VE NEVER HAD A RAISEN OATMEAL COOKIE FROM THERE IT'S A MUST HAVE!

I had such a wonderful experience. The hostess Faith, was amazing. I had walked in for information on there pies. Faith, helped me with all my questions, she made suggestions, and she even gave me some samples to try. I finally made my selection, apple pie sugar free, delicious. Incredible value for breakfast. Came here for breakfast before work and was absolutely stunned by the value: enormous breakfast burrito with cornbread and coffee for less than a fast food combo. I only buy pies here. This is the Banana Cream Pie. They also have a Lemon Cream Cheese Pie that is amazing!! I did notice that people were dinning in but had Styrofoam cups and carry out containers instead of plates. No waitress seen at all. People were ordering food at the front were I was going to order my pie, then going to sit in the dinning room. So if your looking for some were to have a nice dinner maybe not here. But if you want a delicious pie this is the place.

My husband and I always love Marie's Wednesday meal deals. I recently went with my dad after an appointment nearby. We had breakfast and it was super yummy. Maricela was our waitress, and she was kind and busy, handling tables with great hospitality. We used to go to the Marie Calendar's in Monterey Park a lot, but the Whittier spot is closer now, and we're really happy with it.

I ordered the Artichoke Chicken Mushroom Family Platter, and it was the perfect choice for a family dinner! The artichoke chicken dinner was incredibly tasty, with tender pieces of chicken and delicious creamy mushroom sauce. Great flavoring and the portion size was more than enough to feed my family. The platter also included a Caesar salad and cornbread, which went perfectly with the main dish. The Caesar salad was fresh and the cornbread was warm and fluffy. The platter even comes with a whole banana cream pie, which was delicious and a perfect dessert for after dinner! It’s a great deal considering the amount and quality of food. It made for a wonderful family meal. I highly recommend this platter for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious, family size meal at a great price!

I was looking for a quiet and "safe" place to eat as a family. My wife and I decided on Marie Callender's because 1. Youngest grandchild HAD NEVER had lemon merengue pie 2. Marie Callender's hit all the marks of going back! and glad we did. Right ftom the start, our server Maricela made us feel so comfortable and welcomed. We were a party of eight and she treated us as if she actually LIVED with us! Knowing what each would like and such. Great suggestions. Maricela never missed a beat, always on point with our refills and our wellbeing. Add to that the old-time charm of the restaurant. The food is great as ever Son-in-law and I had the lemon pepper salmon and spicy salmon dinners, respectively. His with a warm slice of French apple pie. Mine with a delicious cup of clam chowder Wife and daughter each had one the cheeseburger dinners. Wife loved the onion rings. My two teens had the chicken & broccoli fettuccine Alfredo and the younger ones each had the chicken strips and cheeseburger. Sorry, no pics on our food, this time. But we'll be back DEFINITELY. Maricela made our first time back to MC’s since childhood INCREDIBLE!!! The food was absolutely delicious and so nostalgic for us! My husband has never been and LOVED it! My grandma and I love to come here but last night was the best we’ve ever had. The food was amazing and it came out hot and quick. We decided to try a new pie and we fell in love with the chocolate satin pie! I came back today to get a whole pie while they still have their pie sale going on and I was helped by the sweetest, friendliest, and most knowledgeable cashier, Faith. She made my pie-buying experience a great one and told me about the pie sale ending at the end of October. What has happened to this place? It was like Marie went on vacation and Denny showed up. There are two things that were still great, the cornbread and the pies. Everything else was very Denny's. The menu was very small. Nothing like before c-19. I might try a different one to see if thus is the one location, or if the chain has lost its glory. Also, they seated us in the bar? There were plenty of seats in the regular dining area. Not a good experience.

I had the Pot pie trio. It was pretty good. Can't go wrong with their corn bread, and the pot pie, as always was delicious. I can't wait to dig into my banana cream pie slice,! I find that the food here is consistently good and satisfying.

The food was amazing! We love their pot pies. I gave them 1 star less because this time I had a waitress who was very nice and sweet but she did forget to give us a pie and we waited quite a while after finishing our meals. It was my 3 kids n I, so maybe she assumed I was a single mother who wouldn't tip well. I asked for the pie to go, because she took so long, but then she brought us back 2 pies! In addition, she brought us 3 giant cookies which had us all so happy and I gave her a 20% tip! I'm happy she realized her mistake. After she rectified the situation I convinced myself I will return.

Sadly, a lot of the Marie's are closed so when we find one we go. Once another my friends & I go out to lunch & this time it was Marie's. So worth it. Lots of food choices & delicious 😋.

This place is like comfort food heaven! I walked in, and it felt cozy and welcoming, like a throwback to simpler times. I ordered the pot pie, and it was everything I hoped for—flaky crust, creamy filling, just pure comfort in every bite. The portions were generous, too, so I had plenty to take home. And let’s talk about the pies—oh my gosh, the banana cream pie was out of this world! The service was friendly, though a little slow, probably because it was pretty busy. The only downside was that the place felt a bit dated, like it could use a refresh, and the noise level was higher than I expected. But honestly, for the food and that nostalgic vibe, I’d totally come back. It’s the kind of spot that just makes you feel good.

We went on Easter and I thought maybe they would have a special but they did not. I had quiche and salad and pie. My son had beef stroganoff he said it was okay that's a lot coming from him. Lol. My friend had the chicken pot pie and he liked it very much. The service was very nice. The server was very knowledgeable and sweet. I ate it cuz I was hungry. Server forgot my friend's pie that came w/the meal. After waiting a long while, we reminded her of it.👎 My opinion: Stick to their baked products.

I love the decor and set up. It's a fun restaurant to have a good meal with family and friends or even solo. The waitress was very sweet and accommodating. I came for the first time to have breakfast here. I thought it was really funny though, that they don't have any syrup dispensers for the table for people ordering pancakes or waffles or French toast. The waitress just brought out little to-go cups... I've never seen that at a breakfast restaurant. Even mom & pop restaurants have syrup dispensers.... maybe they are trying to cut back on syrup usage?? The other issue was if you have children in diapers, beware, no changing table. The waitress told me they use to have one but took it down. She said she didn't know why and said they should have one. Again, this is a first. She suggested to change my baby on the bathroom counter. So if you come for lunch or dinner without potty trained kids, it's a great place to visit!

I ordered the “breakfast quiche with ham” to go - first thing this morning. When I got home and opened my order is was a slice of quiche with melted cheese with diced ham on top. One could tell that the cheese and diced ham had been added to the quiche. The food was less than mediocre and it was served in a tinfoil disposable container with hash browns on the side. To be honest, it look like something one in an institution would be served. They could have used a styrofoam container that had sections. My meal was a huge disappointment. For that I paid $16.53. Should of gone to Denny’s.

Next time I'll probably order to go. The food was great but the service on Sunday night was horrible(about a week ago). I've waited tables but the service we got had us laughing. Food is great, service was less than desirable. Funniest part was the food runner who asked if we wanted anything else and we requested ketchup and ranch. Never came back and our waiter never really checked up on. Thankfully the food is so good!

Do not come here. You feel like it’s a part of your childhood from seeing them everywhere and in your frozen food aisles, but it’s terribly overpriced for what it is and the vibe feels like stepping into a diner that hasn’t been updated in 50 years. We got a few of the half sandwich/fries/soup/pie combo, which was $18 and then wine was $6 ($2 off for happy hour). Coke was $4. The onion rings were extra for $2 and there was only 6 small rings. They only have 4 beer choices (coors, miller lite, modelo, and something else- no IPAs) My French dip sandwich had little flavor, the apple pie was cold chunks of apple on a stretchy crust. The double cream blueberry was like 90% whip cream & 5 pieces of blueberry. Service was pretty friendly, but spend your $20-25/person elsewhere.

Just be careful about takeout. Maybe that's on me for ordering a shepherd's pie to go, but the lid wasn't put on properly and it ended up leaking all over the bag. That's half of my order gone.

Stood for over 10 minutes waiting for a host, got acknowledged by the person doing online orders but no one ever came to seat us. It takes 1 minute to get seated. We just left, wasn’t worth waiting just standing there.

I recently purchased a Marie Callender's Turtle Pie and was quite disappointed with the product's condition once opened. Upon removing it from the packaging, I noticed that the pie appeared as if it had melted and been refrozen. This unfortunate state resulted in a less than appetizing appearance, making it embarrassing to serve to guests. Considering Marie Callender's reputation for delicious desserts, I expected a much higher quality pie. The texture was uneven, and the presentation, which is usually enticing with a turtle pie, was lacking. Despite this mishap, the flavor was still somewhat redeemable, but the overall experience was marred by the initial impression. I hope that this was just an isolated incident, as I have enjoyed their pies in the past. However, this experience has made me hesitant to purchase this product again without assurance of improved quality control. If you decide to try it, I recommend checking the pie carefully before serving to ensure it meets your standards. We didn’t even eat this pie.

Made an online order said it was ready for pick up. We get there and the order is not available. We were told that the policy is that if the Order is not available they wait until the customer gets to the restaurant to let them know rather than call them to avoid driving over there and back. Even better, MC, one shouldn’t even be able to order it online if it’s not available.

The service wasn't very good because the person that was taking my order wasn't listening to me. The other server's were loudly complaining about other customers.The big T.V. screens were a big distraction. And the women's restrooms doors don't lock. I looked for a manager but found nothing.

Thanksgiving 2025 Thursday around 7am I walked in to pick up 2 pies and 3 sides. The line was moving quickly and the gentleman managing the front was doing a great job. However, the tall man with black glasses who helped me was very rude. When I asked which sides were still available—because the menu listed options that were sold out—he rolled his eyes and let out a loud sigh as if annoyed that I was asking. I ignored it at first, thinking maybe he was having a long day, but the rude behavior continued. He seemed like he didn’t want to be there or didn’t want to deal with customers on Thanksgiving. Because of his attitude, my order was also given incorrectly. At that point I spoke up. I also work in customer service, and I understand it can be exhausting, but rolling your eyes and showing frustration toward a customer is not acceptable. If he doesn’t want to interact with customers, he should not be working the front. I didn’t get his name, but I will take note of it next time I return. I hope management takes this seriously. Last-minute holiday customers are a huge part of the business during these days, and it’s not fair to be treated disrespectfully for simply asking a question.
