Wow, just wow. Food was wow… best butternut squash ravioli I have ever had. The food was incredible!

Fantastic! Was just here for a rehearsal dinner. Were beyond attentive to the point i never had to ask for anything. Terrfic food and wine too!

First time, food was very good, service excellent. A little noise but we went to eat.

Yes it's expensive, but then so is just about anything worthwhile. The staff here will win your heart and dote over you like you're a celebrity (and here you are!) And oh yes, the food, presentation and wine sampling is amazing.

Probably the best service I've ever had. Amazing food, changes daily based on what is locally available. Lovely outside seating by a little brook.

Absolutely our favorite place in the area to have a special dinner. Yes, it is pricey but the seasonal menu is always a treat and the execution is top-notch. We prefer summer vs winter but it's splitting hairs. Can't recommend this place enough.

School house is a gem. Small and intimate. Great for a date or small group. Excellent food: farm to table with a ranging menu with something for everyone. Chef is excellent, staff is great and so is the ambience. Similar to other restaurants in the are (eg The Cottage in Westport etc) but a step up from anything else. Definitely 5 stars.

The staff is always so pleasant and polite. They food is always interesting and delicious. Ive never had a bad meal here. Oh and dessert is equally delicious!

Rich, brilliantly layered food meets friendly and attentive service next to a babbling brook. I've been to few places quite as charming as the Schoolhouse. For brunch, I highly recommend the French toasted brioche.

Best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. And their bacon is delicious. Everyone there is so very nice. And the setting is lovely.

My husband, our 9 months daughter and I have been to the schoolhouse on a Sunday around 1.30 pm for lunch. The outside is very cute as well as the inside. The first impression was very good. The waiters were welcoming and smily. Then we saw the menu and wanted to order everything! We had to make a choice and it was the burger for my husband and the goat cheese, spinach quiche for me. It was delicious!!! Products were so fresh and we are very picky about eating outside! We have been disappointed so many times that when a place is good it has to be said! Oh, we also had dessert! OMG! So good! it was a homemade chocolate pudding with salted caramel ice-cream. I saw someone at another table having a hot chocolate that looked good so I ordered it as well! it was REAL melted chocolate with homemade marshmallows! The price we paid worth every penny. It wasn't too expensive compare to other (not good) places. We highly recommend the place but shhhhut keep it secret!

I had dinner at the Schoolhouse on 5/11/2018. It was my wife’s birthday and we frequently eat at the Schoolhouse, because the food is terrific. Unfortunately on our last visit on Friday the restaurant was full, and because of the amount of people, the noise level was unbearable. It was so bad that we could not enjoy our food and slowly but surely I got very angry, because I could not understand a word my wife said. It was so loud that we could not have a conversation. Thus we did not enjoy the evening at all. Something must be done to sound proof the restaurant. If nothing is done, we will not eat at the Schoolhouse again. Sorry!

The Schoolhouse always delights! Great menu, well-prepared drinks, tasty food and impeccable service. One of the owners, Angela, is seemingly always present and doting on guests. The wait staff are all experienced hands. Open Table ranked it as one of the 100 best brunch restaurants in the country - and its definitely the best in the area. Brunch or dinner - never disappoints. I always leave thinking I should come more often.

Food was outstanding and service top notch. Maybe one of the best NY Strip’s that I’ve ever had. We did not have a reservation, it was an impromptu date night but they got us right in. It’s a small restaurant so I would definitely recommend a reservation for a busy night. Wish we saved room for dessert but we will definitely be back!! A true gem in this small town

Excellent once again. Service is exceptional. Appetizers, main courses were outstanding. We had pasta, steak, calamari and salads... I will say though prices have gone up a lot since our last visit in early Dec. For 3 of us extra $50 for the night, so be prepared.

We went there to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. The food was delicious. The service was fantastic and the host/manager, Dave, helped to make the day and the meal unforgettable. We are from NY and don't get up that way often, but we will definitely be dining here on our next trip.

I took my sister to the restaurant for her birthday lunch. She is well-traveled in Europe and is a sophisticated cook herself. She identified all the ingredient the cook used...WE LOVED the food which is not high on salt and fat...which means the cook well-versed in his art! Waiters were inviting and made us feel welcome. They seem to take pride in their work. Yes, it was pricey but was worth every penny of it. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to eat healthy, fresh, well-inspired food in a relaxing environment. It was indeed a pleasure! Thank you for being there. I will be driving an hour to get there again very soon.

My husband and I went here this evening for a baby free date night. (First date since our newest was born) The schoolhouse made for a perfect night. It is very small and intimate without feeling crowded. Upscale without feeling stuffy. A quite place where you can actually hold a conversation over amazing food. There was not a single bite that felt mediocre. Everything on the plate felt well thought out and beautifully executed. We will definitely go back, with an ever-changing menu we look forward to what they will come up with next!

Best food I've had in a long time. A little pricey but well worth it. Very small place so get reservations well in advance if you want optimal seating times. Will definitely be back.

Schoolhouse has a reputation, always sets expectations high. The environment is great, fun/cute and the service great. The food is good, but not off the charts

Great food from the chef who finds just the right, original twist to each dish. Service is very friendly and accommodating. Nice wine list too. Space is a bit cramped and noisy but cosy atmosphere overcomes that.

The food was exceptional, but the service left me feeling like my wife and I were invisible.

Used to be a posh elegant place with quiet fancy crowd. Not anymore. Food is ok though. Like it used to be. Maybe I was just not in the mood, you know. I'll give it another shot soon.

This was our first visit here since ownership changed several years ago and, frankly, we were disappointed. The beet salad starter was very tasty but the entrees were unexceptional - not bad, mind you, but lacking in imagination and interest. The stand out feature of the Schoolhouse is its ear-splitting din. People in the restaurant were - literally - screaming at each other due to the cacophony. And even toward the end of evening when the place was half full, a few screamers was all it took to dissaude us from returning. On the plus side was our waiter who was pleasant and attentive. He said he'd worked there 18 years, making me wonder why his hearing is still intact.

We have been there many times and recommended this restaurant to many many people and we usually like it for the food quality and small place. Today on Mother’s Day was a rip-off. Don’t have any problem to pay top dollar for great experience but if you pay pre-tip, pre-tax $40 for a quiche, little bit of Rosti and 3 leafs of salad. For special occasions holiday you should not be taking advantage of customers. So 4 people with eggs and a bottle of wine $290.

Just ordered their lobster rolls pop up dinner...the roll was so large and the amount of lobster was minuscule...you had to ask yourself is this a lobster roll or left over scraps. I expect more from a restaurant like this. If you want a true lobster roll go to Knot Norm's where they know how to do it. But sad to splurge in a pandemic and get totally nothing for your money!

What a DISAPPOINTMENT. After recent recommendation thought this was to be a really great place. The amount of salt put on the skate and broccoli rabe was overwhelming. I have been home 45 minutes and am still tasting salt. The chicken with bean was uneventful and bland. The stake loin was served and the waiter did not ask us for any pepper, although other tables were offered the choice. When the waiter was criticized he go somewhat huffy. The only good thing was they took the chicken off the bill when they realized it was not being eaten. Lastly, the restaurant knew this was a celebration of two birthdays, but acknowledged NOTHING. There are a number of great restaurants in Fairfield County and do not be seduced by the reviews one reads on this one. It seems the stars are in the chiefs eyes and not on the plate. This is a miss until they get the flavors and service fixed. a 1 out of 5
