Our new favorite place stop in to sit at the bar for a drink and split a char grilled hamburger, a chick pot pie, ribs or wings.We love the wood, cabin, country, feel to bar, add some great live music in the corner...its a home run, what we look for when we come for the weekend. If you're into aged steaks, we walk by an impressive glass refrigerated rack on our way to the bar. And of course, we see alot of country fried chicken going by as we're at the bar. Worth a try!

There’s nothing bad to say about this place. The food is delicious. Waitresses are on point and the expediters get your food on the table as quick as humanly possible. The rustic atmosphere is very relaxing. On the weekends with the live music, it Just has a real nice vibe to it. Super friendly staff. I will return again and again.

Had my birthday there recently! The live band was fantastic! The wings were awesome and the prices! The staff was so friendly. They also have amazing steak. If you want the family steak house style vibe with a good cut of meat go here!

This was well recommended and for good reason. We were a group of 11 guys and got well taken care of. Food was good, but as in all these places in NY all over priced. Very accommodating for larger groups. The staff were excellent.

The ultimate family friendly restaurant! We love this place. The food is awesome, there’s often live music and our kids LOVE the claw machines. We always bring $1s so they can have some fun and then us grown ups can hang and talk. Skyler the hostess is so sweet and helped our kids get a toy with her own dollar. The steak, ribs, and fish & chips are awesome and they have a great kids menu.

We were there for a dinner event hosted in the back of the restaurant. Space was tight but worked. The staff was topnotch and very busy but did great. As for the food, OMG mouth watering good. No one thing wasnt cooked right or on point. We ended up taken a take out order home for our kids and even they loved their food. Rumor has it.. summer time and winter ski season its packed. Ice cream was delightful after dinner! They we packed the night we were there.

Great bar restaurant, I went to stop by just to grab a drink, and the food looked so good we ended up grabbing a number of appetizers, clams, ribs, pot stickers and everything was delishious! Big, family restaurant atmosphere ended up spending hours there just getting to hang out with the staff and got to know some friendly locals. Would come back here any time!

A quick weekend trip. I went with my boyfriend for a quick break. We had a great time and went to this place for dinner . The service was excellent, everything was clean, farm-like, everything was natural and very friendly, all country I love it and the dinner was delicious. This place was right up the road from where we were staying, and it came highly recommended by the owners of the motel. It's just what we were looking for at the end of a day after riding hundreds of miles on our Harleys. The staff was very friendly, and everyone seemed to have a sense of humor. We liked the decor and ambiance. Our supper was well deserved ribeye steaks! The food was delicious.....

We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at Chicken Run this past weekend with 170 people. After a year of planning this truly exceeded all my expectations. Cathy was an absolute pleasure to work with and thought of every detail. A few highlights below: - During the planning process Cathy was always available via phone or email, and we also came by for multiple in person meetings - We had to move inside last minute due to rain and they still made the space look amazing and make sure it did not affect the event at all - We did not have to worry about a single thing, they thought of everything and made it run so smoothly - They knew to have 2 buffets which ensured no one was waiting in lines to get good. My dad kept commenting how smart this was. - Cathy last minute found us an amazing musician who perfectly fit the vibe we wanted - Every staff member working the event was amazing and so kind. Someone even walked my grandmother to the restroom and waited to walk her back to her table - The food was AMAZING! People could not stop talking about how blown away they were and about how many choices were offered. We even had a prime rib carving station with all the fixings. People were saying it was the best Mac and cheese and coleslaw they had ever had. - They were so accommodating for any dietary restrictions, including making a special kosher style meal for one of our guests. It was so important to us that all guests felt taken care of and Chicken Run made sure of it. - The kitchen was so accommodating to any requests we made for food. They did custom appetizers we wanted including jumbo pickles on a stick and all beef mini hot dogs. - The dessert table they put together was incredible. At the end they even gave out to go boxes and all our friends got to bring home desserts for later. People were raving about the soft serve. - People were having so much fun we couldn’t get them to leave! Our wedding coordinator had to force people to get on the last shuttle at the end of the night. I cannot recommend this place enough! Our event was truly better than I ever could have imagined and the staff at Chicken Run treated us with such kindness. When we left I was worried our wedding the next night wouldn’t be able to top this! Thank you so much to Cathy and her team for the most incredible party.

First time here. We needed a table for 9 with no reservations. Lucky someone just cancelled and we were seated right away. Kids ordered from their own menu. My wife enjoyed her cheeseburger and I shared the huge cowboy ribeye for two, cooked medium rare. It was a friends birthday and they brought out her dessert with a huge sparkler. Kids all had ice cream. There was live music in the next room and everyone looked like they were having a great night out.

This is an amazing spot for the whole family. Also great for a nice, casual night out. Whether you're alone, on a date, with friends or your spouse. You can dine in, take out. They have a lovely setup in their outside area. Our first time was just this Friday & we went again this evening. We got to catch the live band both nights. So far I've tried their, ribs & slaw and their fried chicken both super delicious. Tonight I had the pleasure of Brownie Sundae, hits the spot. They have fin activities & setups outside; THE FIRE PIT, with sits circling it. Horse shoes, bean toss, a volleyball net. A teepee with a table/bench inside. In the sumer they have a Seafood Shack, the food cooking from there smells amazing. They have a good number of picnic tables with a creek behind the restaurant. The mountain views are spectacular. I can't wait to come back, especially when I extend summer to enjoy all the activities with my family & friends. Great food, amazing atmosphere, fun & outstanding service & staff!

The steak was better than others I’ve had in fancy NYC steakhouses. Service was pleasant but menu somewhat limited and lacks creativity. They close at 9pm but it’s typical for the area.

Brought the family for a great dinner here. Colleen, our server, did a great job steering my kids towards healthy food choices, telling us what the best dishes were, and just being so pleasant and attentive during an admittedly busy Saturday evening. The food was amazing, the chicken pot pie was the best I ever had.

The Marinated Rotisserie Chicken is absolutely delicious and incredibly juicy—a pleasant surprise! The price is exceptionally low, and the service is outstanding.

And Salman was simply amazing that evening of the outgoing year. The bartender, I don't remember her name, was incredibly kind to me. Everything was perfect.

We had a very good overall experience. The food was solid, and the steak I ordered was absolutely outstanding—definitely the highlight of the meal. Others in our group didn’t enjoy their dishes quite as much, so I would especially recommend going for the steak selection and asking the servers for guidance—they are extremely knowledgeable and very kind. They also offer a great selection of beers and well-made cocktails. I always appreciate being asked about my liquor preference for cocktails, and they handled that detail perfectly. Prices are very fair.

This is the second year Chicken Run hosted my family reunion for dinner and it was perfect. We had a group of about 80 people and Cathy was amazing to work with. Cathy helped me coordinate our large group into a private back room space as well as arrange for a two sided buffet. We had two awesome waitresses, Mel and Diana as well as a few bus boys to assist with our group. The waitresses were so kind and friendly despite the chaos a large group can create. The staff worked hard to keep everyone’s drinks filled as well as the buffet. The food itself was hot and delicious. The ribs, BBQ chicken and Mac n cheese were some of the group’s favorites. The chef also accommodated some food allergies as well, which was very helpful. Overall, Chicken Run hosts a great event, were easy to work with, and executed the event perfectly with smiles in their faces. Highly recommend!

A group of 5 of us came here on a busy Friday night without reservations, when the restaurant was completely booked. We waited about 5 minutes before they sat us, informing us we would have about an hour to sit and eat if we didn’t want to wait for a table since that table was reserved for a party that would arrive in an hour. We figured it was enough time to order, sit and eat, and it was! They put our orders in as priority to speed up the process. The food here was one of the best I’ve had while on my trip at Hunter Mountain. And you know it’s good when the locals frequent this place as well! Very family friendly and the kindest staff. Our favorite order was the fried chicken combo with French fries and mashed potatoes w/gravy, and it came with their special honey sauce, and cornbread. The chicken was hot, crispy, juicy and full of flavor! Dipping the chicken into the honey made it even better! Their cornbread was also very good with the honey! And that’s saying a lot since I don’t normally enjoy cornbread from anywhere else. Here the cornbread isn’t dry and is more like cornbread cake. Anyway, the chicken combo was so good, we ordered another one as we’re eating this one and devoured that one as well! We also ordered the 24 oz ribeye and this dish went pretty fast! For medium rare, the steak was seasoned and cooked nicely, pink on the inside and had a good bite to it. Very reasonable price compared to New York prices! We also ordered the chicken pot pie with coleslaw. We weren’t fan of either of these. The puff pastry on top of the pot pie was probably the best part. But this one lacked flavor and we would probably skip this in the future. Overall, we pretty much finished all the food within 20 minutes after it arrived (including our 2nd order of the fried chicken combo!) and were completely stuffed and very happy with our experience here! Would definitely recommend this place and come back as well.

It gets packed on the weekends so if they take reservations I would suggest making them. Luckily we didn’t run into any issues on Sunday night.

We arrived 15 minutes before the restaurant closed, and they were really nice to accommodate us outdoors. We ordered the chicken pot pie and the chicken run combo (ribs and grilled chicken). Both dishes were decent, but I was most impressed by the sides of smashed potatoes and baked beans!

In early May, my sister and I were passing through Windham and stopped for lunch at Chicken Run Family Restaurant and Steak House. We visited this place for the first time. Everything what we ordered was very tasty. I ordered sausages with a side dish, my sister ordered half a chicken with side dish. The sausages were amazing, the spices did not overwhelm the taste of the meat. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The French potatoes and vegetables were cooked to perfection. Coleslaw is very tasty and light. For dessert, my sister ordered apple pie, and I ordered strawberry milkshake. Everything was delicious. The inside of the establishment is very clean and cozy. The service staff is very good. Restroom is clean. I want to say thank you to the owners and employees of Chicken Run Family Restaurant and Steak House for your respect for people. I will recommend Chicken Run Family Restaurant and Steak House to all my friends and acquaintances.

We were there on Memorial Day weekend. The servers were so nice and attentive! We came with 2 large dogs. The first thing they did was bring a huge bowl of water with lots of ice just for them - so REALLY dog friendly. The place itself is beautiful, and the food and drinks were spot on. This place is so welcoming! Our server was extremely nice and attentive. And the food serving was gigantic! The barbecue meat was cooked so well it falls off the bone! I ordered the combo ribs and 1/2 chicken with cornbread and 2 sides for only $28! I could never have finished this on my own so if you’re thinking of ordering this consider splitting it with someone else. And did I say there’s a FREE popcorn? Yes! They serve free popcorn immediately after they give you a seat!

OMG! What a great place! We are not from the area but it was a great find. The staff was very welcoming, walked us around the restaurant so we could pick out seats. Lol The food was amazing! We had wings and a ceasar salad with house made dressing to start and then shared a chicken and rib combo with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese with corn bread. Everything was delicious! And then the music and atmosphere was so much fun. Beautiful grounds!

Ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious. The rotisserie chicken was good, but the breast portion was dry. Maybe the marinated version solves this. Place was bigger than perceived when walking in the front door. Big outdoor patio. Band was pretty good. Would try again.

Came with 5 people at 6pm on a Saturday. Not too crowded. Ample parking. The live music was nice. Cool vibe, decent food, service was ok. Complimentary popcorn on the table was burnt. Some of the sides didn’t taste too fresh. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant, the gravy tasted like it was out of a can and the Mac n cheese reminded me of frozen dinners I had as a kid. Chicken pot pie was fresh and delicious. Sausage with peppers and onions tasted pretty basic and lacked seasoning. Ribs & fried chicken were both tender and cooked perfectly but nothing was really bursting with flavor. No wow factor that makes me want to come back. Overall the food was good not great except for the bbq chicken which was dry. Ordered a mixed drink, it was really weak so we sent it back and it was taken off the bill. Deserts were good. Coffee was fine. What bugged me was being charged $1 for a side of hot sauce for the dry buffalo wings and another $1 for the birthday candle in the dessert. Like really?? The bill came to $267.00 but you really needed those extra $2? Probably try somewhere else in the area next time.

A large of family group(13) made reservations and were seated inside in comfortable air conditioned setting. The drinks were served quickly and the food followed shortly after. The quality and food portions were excellent. The reason I rated only 4-stars was that the service left a little to be desired. A waitress by the name of Marie C was a little abrupt at times and appeared to be distracted. We’re not sure if she was overworked or just annoyed at the size of the group. What ever the reason for abrupt behavior, it does not excuse this kind of treatment. Marie seems to be annoyed about certain requests made of her about items that were requested. With a “4” rating we didn’t want to detract from the quality food and its portions. We do recommend dining at the Chicken Run - a fun place to dine.

I've always enjoyed the steak here as it's always cooked just the way I like it, the staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is usually great. However, today there were a lot of flies inside, which was a bit distracting. Hopefully, this can be addressed for the next time I return.

A review of two halves. I made two visits here. The first one was great - good quick service, great food, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I came back a week later and it felt more like a bar than a restaurant with a rowdy behaviour and distracted service staff. However, the restaurant kindly replied to me and assured me it was a one off. I would recommend going along to check out the food, and in fact on the day of my second visit I recommended the restaurant to two groups of tourists - hence my concern when it wasn't as I'd remembered! * appreciate reply from restaurant so I have edited my review. Ordered the fried chicken and ribs combo. Fried chicken was very nice. Also had their homemade apple pie which was the best thing if the night. Have a really nice patio area with music and a fire pit, really nice in the fall weather. Our server was really knowledgeable and helpful.

We love this place. I ALWAYS order chicken, and the wings are great! However...this time I ordered the fish. While it was just ok, I cannot recommend ordering the fried , I think it was haddock. Great restaurant for families, food is very hearty and not crazy expensive. Always have a decent experience when coming here. A staple of the area with good live music on rotation and a nice outside area in the summer. The waitress/bartender wasn't the most attentive last time we were there a week ago but we had never had a bad experience with staff prior. Must have been an off day.

Went snow tubing and was referred to this restaurant by the couple on line in front of our group. Said they were headed there after tubing, and the food was really great. Our party, a group of 11, arrived and were seated in the back, separate area of restaurant. Room had a slight odor, maybe due to the wood cabin like space, but figured there was the only place we could sit because of our party size. The room filled quickly with many other families who all seemed just as satisfied as we were. The waitress was amazing. She was very friendly and helpful and made sure we were good through the entire dining experience. We travel to the Catskill area twice during the winter and will be sure to stop back.

Fun family owned and operated restaurant in the central area of ski town, Windham, NY. This restaurant is very popular with the locals as well as the apres ski folks. It's a great bar and family friendly restaurant. Steps from the entrance, you can see the custom ice cream station where you can customize your own dessert. Or you can order any of the yummy pre-made mousse or cakes from the fridge. Once they sell out, that's it. They are famous for their BBQ ribs and fried chicken. My family and I tried both the original and honey flavored fried chicken and it didn't disappoint. Crunchy skin and good flavor. Each entree is paired with two sides, Mac and cheese was the favorite as well as the vegetable of the day (waxed beans and carrots). We also tried the ribeye steak, tender and juicy. They even offer brand name steak sauces should you want it. I don't think it needed it. My ribeye was well seasoned with black pepper and peppercorns. Complimentary popcorn served while you wait for your food and wikisticks for the kids to keep them occupied. Great value for the portions.

$23 for a to go salad with chicken was just insanely overpriced. It was good, but wow, they must be proud of their food!

BEST RIBS IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Fall of the bone good!!! Also the Spicy Cheese Curd appetizer and the beer cheese soup was delectable!! The only things I didn’t super care for were the fried chicken (kinda bland, not enough spices), and the Mac and cheese side. Also I tried some of the pot pie and it was SOOOO GOOD. I also wish they had a bigger beer selection since I’m not a fan of IPAs and light beers. But this place is the best restaurant in town!

Fun Chicken Themed restaurant in Windham NY, very close to Windham Mountain. Our party of 4 were immediately seated on a busy Friday evening and each of us had a chicken meal - all the meals were very well prepared. You can get your chicken prepared any which way and if you are not a fan of chicken, they have other meats as well. The wine was good, as were the cocktails and beer and the service was over the top fantastic - we had a fun waitress! In summer months, Chicken Run has outdoor seating and an area for children to play in. Large parking lot accommodates many cars. Will return.

Food was good, the service was really bad the staff was nice but unfortunately it took almost 45 minutes for someone to take our order, and checking in on the table was nonexistent even trying to pay the bill took forever. I thought maybe they were busy but it was not at all. I am sure this is not something that happens normally, I would like to think maybe we were just unlucky this time. I will still go back.

The food is inconsistent. We've had some good meals at Chicken Run and some very disappointing meals. Typically we go there with friends that want to eat there or because there is live music. The dining room is typically families with kids. As a kid-free couple we like to sit at the bar or at a high top table to enjoy a meal. The interior of the dining room and bar is country beautiful. The backyard has an inviting firepit and stage where there is live music on warm Spring/Summer/Fall nights. Parking is typically not an issue. Service is good. Bartenders very attentive and friendly.

They have a great outdoor seating area where kids can run around and play. I've been here about 5 or more times but the food is isn't great. The wings are way over fried and the fried chicken dinner was depressing. I love fried chicken. The kids are happy with their meals and it's a good spot to grab a drink while they play outside. They give out a free bowl of popcorn when they first set you up. That keeps us coming back. Update, the burgers and steaks are good. Those are my go to.

Went there on a motorcycle group ride. Restaurant served its purpose. Had a burgers and dogs buffet set up for us. Not sure it was worth the $13. I should have ordered off the menu. Establishment was very accommodating to our group.

Have gone to the Chicken Run for years. Food is pretty good, although not the biggest portions. Nice place to eat. Where it lacks is the service. Never found the servers to be very friendly and some are down right rude. Our last meal there, we actually had a server ask in a sarcastic tone "if we were OK" when we questioned why she brought the check without offering us desert. So crazy rude. So yeah, I think we are done with the Chicken Run for good.

As somebody who has served before I don’t usually complain about service but Chicken run was a very disappointing experience. A friend raved about this place and we figured we give it a shot. Dining in with my wife and 2 month old, the atmosphere was very dim and cramped the server first sat us underneath a AC unit on full blast, we politely asked to be moved after noticing that there’s plenty of other open tables, we sat down and ordered a appetizer of boneless wings which was very good which was delivered by a busser, then the server never came to us to order our entrée and after 30 minutes of waiting I had to ask for our server to take our order and by the time she came to us we just decided it would be better if we just got the check. The server sat other tables near us 10 minutes after we arrived and ordered there entrées and received there food before we did. Very poor and unprofessional service, we would not be returning to dine at the chicken run. Not worth the money or irritation.

Chicken Run was recommended to us by someone at the hotel we stayed at, so we gave it a try. I had the marinated rotisserie half chicken, and my wife had beer-batter fried fish. Her fish was pretty good. My chicken was very dry and didn't have much flavor. I was very disappointed in my dinner, though the Mac and cheese was pretty good. Had the food been very good, the price would have been fine (maybe a touch on the high side). As it turned out, we paid too much for what we got. Also, the night we were there they were getting ready for a big party. That seemed to be what everyone was focused on. The server that took care of us did great. The problem was, she wasn't our server. Overall, Chicken Run was disappointing and we would not go back

I order the cajun chicken wings and they we’re bland and no heat over cook and tough this is a tourist trap I have eating before and a big disappointment I am Local and I keep hoping that the food will get better and did not ! If you looking for quality food stay away from this place and I sat at the bar and service was terrible

Does this look medium to you? This is what I got even after sending it back to the grill. I’m sure it would have been good if I could eat it. After returning the steak, five minutes later it showed back up at the table and some guy( not even our server) dropped it on our table and not even to the person that ordered it. Very disappointed, definitely would not recommend! They could not even use the excuse that it was as busy because it was 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon.

Disappointing Experience at Chicken Run I recently visited Chicken Run with my partner, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to our expectations. We ordered wings and two ribeye steaks (medium-well), but the quality was lacking. My steak was mostly fat with very little meat, and my partner’s steak was severely undercooked. We couldn’t even finish our meals. While the waitress was friendly and very apologetic, the overall experience wasn’t worth the price. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend dining here.

Really bad service. We sat down in a nice outdoor setting. We were a group of 4 and the waitress rudely told me to stop talking and asked the ladies at the table if they wanted anything while I was just asking a question. It was all downhill after that, as she deliberately did not even take my order until we had to tell her. Food: average, wings were good, steak was really poor - did not arrive to the intended temperature. The popcorn served when you first sit was burnt. Service: really bad, rude and slow Atmosphere: pretty cool old school country vibes
