Opinions de Yin Keng Restaurant Windsor
Love this place, I've been going for about 15 years. I almost always get the Honey Pecan Prawns on the lunch special. House fried rice is also very good and has good proportions of meat vegetables and rice. I always feel very welcomed by the staff every time I go.
Absolutely amazing food and incredible prices! A hidden treasure in Windsor, great for lunch, the lunch combo comes with a good amount of food for the price, and even leftovers depending on how hungry you are. Very quick service, very pleasant atmosphere, amazing restaurant.
This is a nice little 'hole-in-the-wall' restaurant. You would not expect the atmosphere, when viewed from the outside. The food is very good, and I believe it is family-owned, and they are very nice. Prices are quite reasonable, as well. Highly recommended.
I wasn't expecting this food to be as good as it was. We were visiting from out of town and if we return we will definitely go back. The people were friendly and oblidging.
Absolutely delicious. They were able to cater to special requests (no breaded chciken or shrimp) and i recieved quite possibly the best hot and sour soup I've ever had
Since Yenking re-opened we have eaten in twice and had take out once. We found the eat-in experience fun and relaxing. Our favorite dish so far has been the walnut (or pecan?) honey prawns. The prawns are served on a bed of crisp green beans and there is also fresh pineapple chunks. We've had that dish three times now. We've also loved the pork buns and the hot and sour soup. So glad Yenking has reopened. It will continue to be our go-to place for Chinese food.
This is one of my favorite places to eat they know who we are because we're regulars! Candy always greets you with a warmer welcome! Are fast and the food is great! Thank you very much me and Jeff!
I love Yinkeng. Their crab dumplings, chicken chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, kung pao chicken, etc. etc. is all delicious. I've been going there for probably 10 years and every time it is great. It's a little bit pricey ($20 per person if you order a few items) but their lunch and dinner specials for 2 are great. Certainly the best Chinese food in Windsor ;)
We went there for lunch today, and I got the most expensive lunch special. For $9.75 I got hot and sour soup, crab ragoon, fried rice, chow mien and pecan prawns. Everything was phenomenal! The service was quick and attentive and the food arrived hot.
Hot, good food! Crab wontons are delicious! They get you in and out during the lunch hour. Reasonably priced. Their Mongolian Beef is one of my favorites!
Absolutely the best Chinese food! I come here weekly and am always pleased by the high quality and wonderful dishes. The staff is also the best. I thoroughly enjoy Yin Keng and highly recommend 👍💯.
My first time going to Yinkeng I was in search of a good local chinese restaurant. I've had poor luck finding one until now. I was soooooo happy by the end of my meal and I will return again! I tried the chicken wings with garlic, ginger, szechuan sauce. Perfect food to go with an ice cold beer! Super flavorful and crispy. Good prices too!
I've been coming here since I was a baby. Yin Keng has always treated each customer like family. They remember you--not because it's good business, but because they want to. Everything is made fresh to order and prompt. Their lunch specials are a staple for Windsordians looking for great Chinese food to satiate their hunger. Our family loves to start with the Pu-Pu Platter which offers several appetizers along with a charming miniature grill to sear your beef skewers or ribs and is served with sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard. Dad loves the accompanying egg rolls and crispy won tons. The family favorites : Pu-Pu Platter,, Sizzlingup (best ordered in person. I'd order won ton soup to go.), vegetable chow mein, lemon chicken, Kung Pao chicken, Marco Polo prawns, mongolian beef and sweet and sour pork. We especially love the pot of oolong tea that is provided with every meal.
Food is excellent been eating in this restaurant for 17 years. No complaint about the food. Friendly atmosphere and no waiting time. They also serve lots of food with decent prices.
Our favorite go to for take out. Generous portions, fast friendly service, and reasonable prices. The lunch specials are big enough to share. Highly recommend when you're in Windsor.
What a surprise. This small spot in Windsor has one of the best Chinese food ever. Their ingredients are fresh and the service deserves 5 star. Their menu has a lot of option and I would recommend one of their dinner combos. Everything very delicious. Coming back, for sure.
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. Great hidden gem. Lovely service, great good and good price!
Family owned restaurant with very very generous portions that tastes absolutely amazing. Really beautiful setting very quit and calm atmosphere great customer service keep up the great work!!!
The food here is fantastic. In Sonoma County, we have a fair amount of Asian restaurants, and if you live in any of the more urban areas, you won't have to drive far for Chinese food, but we drive in from Santa Rosa for Yin Keng. It's a favorite for us for the lunch special. The food is reasonably price and quite varied in the lunch special; you pick a specific entre and get rice, chow mien, an appetizer, and soup along with it. All of it ... very good. My personal favorite is the Szechuan Beef, which is crispy here ... their Szechuan sauce is out-of-control. Absolutely worth a stop if you're in the area and hungry, and probably worth a drive if you're anywhere close.
Small restaurant but delicious cheap food

Excellent food. A little expensive but worth it!
The Thai basil chicken was delicious. The service was very nice and quick.
I've lived in Windsor for many years and eaten Yinkeng only a couple times years ago. Don't remember it being anything special but met up with some friends last week for dinner and it was great! Sweet and sour chicken and sizzling rice soup were standouts. I already got it again last night to bring home and it didn't disappoint. Great Chinese food!
So glad they offer food in Windsor past 9 PM, and it's tasty, too! I called 15 minutes before they closed, ordered 4 items for takeout, and waited for less than 12 minutes. I will definitely be back when I'm starving and coming home from work at later times. Don't miss out on quality food.
Recently moved to Windsor and tried Yin Keng tonight. The food was very good and the flavors were balanced. The veggies tasted fresh. The stand out dish was the potstickers which were unique and extremely tasty. We will definitely be back.
Husband and I stopped here for a quick bite to eat. Food was fresh. Service was pleasant and fast. The flavoring of the food was spot on. If we lived in the area this would be our go-to spot for sure
I like the food it good and enough for one for two days.
I've been going here since 1998 and somehow through all that time and even change in owner/manager it's still phenomenal. Even through a pandemic and recessions they've always kept it delicious and fresh. Thank you Yinkeng for remaining a steady pillar of Windsor cuisine.
I absolutely love this place! Nice people, excellent food.

Excellent food. A little expensive but worth it!
Really nice atmosphere with nice looking table and comfortable chairs. Very clean restaurant, attentive staff friendly and helpful. Wor wonton soup had a lot of shrimp and wontons the small bowl was huge. Vegetable egg foo young had so many vegetables and the sauce was not very salty at all. Relaxing music also, prices are not high.

I've been going here for a couple months since I moved to windsor. It's pricey, (in SR I'd pay about $50-$55 for what I get for $70 here) but it's really good. The won ton soup and honey walnut prawns are amazing, and the broccoli beef is hands down the best I've ever had. My BF is a huge fried rice guy and he loves it here, we always get 2 orders. Would 5 star if they brought their prices down a bit. :( Whenever I need a treat and have the money though, this is my go-to place.
I am very picky with my Chinese food however I have never been disappointed with Kinkeng Restaurant. I always order the Orange Chicken and I think it has to be the best I have tasted so far in San Diego since moving from San Francisco. The staff is very friendly and so is the owner who will come around and see how our meals are going from time to time.
I've been ordering from this restaurant for about 10 years. The food is delicious, easily the best Chinese food available in Windsor, but it's ridiculously over priced. Chinese food is usually expensive but this place is extra expensive. Just to give an idea, It's $30 for soup, fried rice and chow mein. If you can afford it, I definitely recommend Yinkeng. Save a few bucks and order it to-go instead of eating in the restaurant itself, the wait is never more than 15 or 20 mins max for pick up.
Excellent Hot n Sour soup. It had shrimp and pork in it! This place saved us when we were starved from moving all day and were completely ignored at the Jaded Toad. We were so thankful to get superior service and great food!
Go to for sweet and sour chicken lunch special. The fried rice does not have a dark color since light on soy sauce. Fairly certain no MSG added but inquire if concerned.
If you like classic 80s/90s Chinese food, this is the place! It's predictable in a good way, and the prices are really great. The service is friendly. Really, one of the best Chinese restaurants in Sonoma County.
Basic Chinese place, great place if you want a quick lunch. Lunch specials run 13.50, you get soup, entree, rice and chow mein. Decent portions, cones out nice and hot. I had the Mongolian beef, it was very good Will definitely go back again
The absolute best most delicious won ton soup with chicken and shrimp! Also love the ginger beef!

My SO and I were craving Asian and came to Yin Keng. I ordered Hot and Spicy Chicken, my SO got Mongolian Beef. We shared an order of pulled pork buns. I can't tell you how the Hot and Spicy chicken was because when I started to eat, I realized that I had gotten Beef. My SO got pork. Place was closed so we couldn't return the food. Nevertheless, everything tasted great but I would have preferred what I ordered. Pulled Pork Buns were mostly Bun.
I'd heard so many good things about this place but was disappointed. The salt and pepper chicken was excellent. The egg Foo young order was wrong (and came with egg shells). The duck didn't come with pancakes or veg and was leathery.
I tried this Chinese restaurant for the first time last week, and must say they had the best potstickers I’ve ever had! That’s an awesome accomplishment! Their egg flower soup on the other hand was very bland and came scorching hot. It was so hot that it burned the plastic container it came with!! I had to wait 30 minutes just to be able to eat the soup… they need to fix that.

Hubby got the fried rice with all the meats and it had zero taste, and reminded us of minute rice with canned veggies and a few pieces of mystery sprinkled in here and there. I got the Kung Pau chicken and it did not come with rice like most other places include. We combined the 2 meals along with the small amount of leftover potsticker sauce for flavor. That made it tolerable. The potstickers were really good. The service was fine. We got takeout. Overall, If I had to go back, I could get potstickers, but considering the food here is less than mediocre, I’m not considering it anytime soon.

I was so disappointed! Ordered the combination chow mein. There was little flavor, little protein, and few veggies, if any, and it was too greasy. The sweet and sour pork, was too sweet, and no sour or zip. Potstickers were thick dough and so so taste. The fried prawns were wonderful. I would have taken the food back but I live 1 and 1/2 hours away. I won't be returning after spending over $40.
I went with a friend shortly after Yinkeng reopened, and was deeply disappointed. The former Yinkeng was my gold standard for Chinese food; it not only had delicious food (my favorites were the broccoli beef, fried rice and crab dumplings), but it had a wonderful staff who provided professional and friendly service. They remembered you, we're always happy to see you, and regularly checked in to make sure you had everything you needed, without it being too frequent to be annoying. Also the interior designing of the restaurant had given the atmosphere a warm and homey feeling while also presenting the beautiful cultural aspects of a Chinese restaurant. However this New Yinkeng not only had a sterile neutrality to its unappealing atmosphere, the food is disgusting. Panda Express has better and cheaper food in comparison, and friendlier staff. Not only that, but the service was terrible. There was none of the original staff or owners. I had to ask for more water and I never got it. The new servers didn't seem to know what they were doing and were unfriendly. I'm never wasting my money there again, and I'm deeply disappointed with the change.
I am very disappointed! After reading the reviews I was expecting a delicious meal. Our wonton soup had only one wonton and the flavor was very bland. The Mongolian beef was awful! The potstickers were less then pleasing. The only thing I enjoyed from our dinner was the combination chow mien. We will not be returning.
We have been coming here for years and always loved the food. Recently the manager made a very inappropriate comment to my dad asking if he was there for chinese or chinese food, jokingly..but not funny. Unprofessional and inappropriate. Then we asked if we could have half chowmein and half fried rice on our lunch special. We have been ordering it this way for many years. He flat out would not give us half chowmein because there was noodles in the chow fun. I guess his opinion matters more than what the customer would like an insisted we would have to pay for an extra side if chow me in. Sorry to say we will not be driving to Windsor from Santa rosa to get our food anymore. I'm disappointed.
Very overpriced and very disappointing food.
Never again! ...Lousy food at Ridiculously expensive prices!! The young lady (restaurant supervisor) who I spoke to behind the counter has no skills in management, and is absolutely rude and cocky. You’re better off eating at the other new places along Monte Vista Drive.
This was one of my favorite resturants for over 20 years ,tonight we went in and got the hot and sour soup and the chow mein. The core meeting was shipper msgy and made us sick not to mention that octet whelming burnt oil taste. I the soup. The soup i sear to god had pee in it and im needing to call the health board because of this. Beware this place is not the place it use to be.
I ordered the combination Chow main, 98% soft noodles, 2 shrimp, I didn't find any beef, about 10 pcs of shredded pork, and hardly no vegetables at all.
