Double Cut Steak House - Wisconsin Dells

We booked an early dinner here as that was the only time slot available last weekend. Note to self, let someone else order when you're super hungry. Reason - I ordered way too much food. Highlights include the escargot appetizer and crab cakes. The bone-in ribeye was very good but I couldn't finish it. However, I did leave room for the perfectly done creme brulee. Overall, the dinner was very good if a bit pricy.

Absolutely incredible! We went in for our anniversary, not really knowing what we were getting in to. The atmosphere was perfect! We started off with the Calamari and it exceeded any expectations I had. Better than the freshest Calamari that I have had straight f4om the ocean. The scallops were beyond excellent and my Bone-in ribeye has ruined steak at any other place I might go. We also tried the Godfather Sushi which featured the freshest fish I have ever tasted. This was seriously the best meal that I have ever had! Everything, including Jamie our waitress, was completely beyond expectation!

The lack of music was great for having conversation at the table. Our server was great and everyone in our 6 person group had a great meal. The wine list could benefit from a few more non-California selections but their bottle prices were reasonable . I gambled and ordered the sushi platter and it was very good.

Brock, our waiter was really great! He was friendly, patient and gave us great recommendations. We ordered the short rib taco, tempura fried shrimp and crispy black pepper calamari and rock shrimp for appetizers. For the main courses, we ordered the calabrian shrimp and angel hair, sea bass and burger. We all enjoyed our meals. Great atmosphere, clean. It costs $200+for a family of 5... It's definitely overpriced

I must say they went above and beyond our expectations.We were celebrating our anniversary they had 3 Roses waiting for us at the table we had a nice seating by the fireplace and ambience was remarkable our waitress Jamie did a very good job of making sure we were well taken care of during our meal. the food was by far some of the best that we’ve had in a long time this experience is a must for people celebrating special occasions or just a regular day. we would like to thank the double cut steakhouse for all their hospitality and make our special day even better and like I said our waitress Jamie did a magnificent job.

We went here the day after our wedding. We really weren't sure what to expect but we absolutely LOVED all the food! After we ordered we got a homemade loaf of bread with butter. This was a nice suprise and tasted SOO GOOD!! Our food was AMAZING. You definitely get really good portions of food which was nice to see. The food was great the service was amazing and the atmosphere was welcoming! They scrape your food into boxes for you and even send silverware with you for your leftovers. This was a huge bonus because we didn't have any in our hotel

Lucky was an excellent server. Very attentive and personable. Food and drinks were amazing. Try the signature old fashioned.

I took my 10 year old here for his first steak house experience. He chose double cut after seeing it advertised at a recent stay at kalahari. From the moment we walked in, he was treated like he was a celebrity! The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. He ordered calamari to try for the first time and we demolished it. It was some of the best calamari I’ve ever had and not rubbery like I’ve gotten at other places. He ordered the ribeye and i got the ny strip. Both were cooked perfectly, tender, and flavorful. We got baked potato, broccoli, and truffle fries for sides. All were delicious! He even raved about the broccoli!! Our favorite was the truffle fries. Towards the end of our meal, the manager came to our table to check in on him and make sure he was having a great time. She then told him she was going to come back in a bit to take him on a tour of the kitchen! He LOVED the tour! Seeing how everyone worked hard to make the food was such a highlight and they even had some extra things for us to try: short rib taco appetizer, bacon Brussels sprouts, and truffle fries. It was all delicious. We ordered chocolate cake to-go so he could share it with his little brother at home. Best chocolate cake ever. When we got our bill, our waiter told us that they covered our appetizer and dessert. I almost started crying. As a single mom, i can’t express how helpful that was and how grateful i was for the kindness and the out of this world service. On the drive home, he told me this was the best night of his life and he was never going to forget it. ❤️ We will be back as he gets older. Thank you, double cut.

The food here was phenomenal! I started with the French Onion Soup that was one of the best I've ever had. Our server also gave us a complimentary loaf of Asiago Bread that came out hot and so soft. For the main course I have the Bone in Ribeye. It had such great flavor and was cooked exactly how I requested. I also had a side of Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Corn. Both were awesome and packed with great flavor! If you are staying in the Dells and looking for an A+ Steakhouse. Check out Double Cut!

Highly recommend!! Fantastic food and superb staff! Our family reserved the 750 cellar to celebrate our college daughter, the staff went out of their way to surprise us by decorating the room in her school colors! The sushi was fabulous! The steaks were off the charts, and the wine list - woah! They even created this special dessert plate for her!!

We had an excellent experience at double cut!! From all that was involved. From the hostess waiter, cooks and other staff!! Brock was our waiter, he has only been there 4 months an has done an excellent job waiting on us!!! An never once go upset with my picky mother. Thank you to all at Double Cut an excellent job

Top quality food and perfect environment for catch-up-visit with an old friend. Not too loud or too quiet. Wednesday evening pan-seared walleye! I grew up in northern Minnesota and it was even better than I remembered! Our waiter knew which wine to recommend and he was super friendly. Staff checked on our food, poured wine and was quite attentive without being too present.

Our server was a gentleman named Lucky. He was very good at his job. Made the meal and experience that much better. Excellent.

We dined here for a birthday party and had a great experience. Very friendly staff. We didn’t have a reservation, but very short wait. Bar staff were attentive and smiling. Ashley was our server, prime rib was amazing, and oysters were super fresh.

They did a great job making the night special. Everything was top notch and Lucky provided such a memorable service experience. So nice to have this venue at a family friendly resort

We had such an incredible experience! Lucky was absolutely phenomenal — truly one of the best servers we’ve ever had. He was attentive, friendly, and made the entire meal feel special from start to finish. The garlic chicken was outstanding — perfectly juicy with beautifully seared, crispy skin and amazing flavor in every bite. The food, the atmosphere, and the service were all top-tier. If you’re looking for a place with great food and even better service, this is it. And if you can, definitely ask for Lucky — he’s the best!

Food was excellent. Everything we had was superb. I enjoyed the sea bass, husband got the bone in rib eye and the little one had the Mac and cheese. Service was friendly and attentive albeit a little slow but that did not end up being a factor in the overall rating. Ambience is modern steakhouse vibes. Our server Brock was superb. A must do dining experience if staying at the Kalahari!

Went here for an anniversary dinner. The service was great! Drinks were delicious, steaks cooked perfectly, portion sizes are huge! We ordered a "pick 3" for sides to our steaks and they are all full size sides. My god, so much food! Cant complain because it all tasted divine, just be aware of the large portions. Would definitely come back to dine here again!

My husband, son, and myself went tonight. Ashley was our waitress, she was phenomenal. She had to come back a couple of times because we couldn't decide on a few things. She was very patient. We started with a bottle of wine and had escargot for an appetizer. Son got steak and fries, hubby got a couple of sushi rolls, and I got the pesto pasta with shrimp. All was delicious. We have been coming to Kalahari resort for a few years and never come to this restaurant. I'm glad we visited tonight.

Food was delicious. Great with kids. Good cocktails and awesome wine selection. Our server Lucky and the GM Erin were both fantastic. All around great experience.

Everything was outstanding, excellent blackened fillet mignon, garlic mashed and drinks. First time having the hanging bacon, delicious! Lucky was very attentive of our table of 17. Thank you to all the chefs and servers for a wonderful evening.

Our server lucky was amazing and very nice, he was fast, friendly, talked to us while pouring our drinks and boxing up food, made sure we were all set and that we were enjoying our food multiple times( which most restaurants hosts stop like once or twice) He went above and beyond!! I hope hes here the next time we come for dinner! It was our first time coming here and the good was beyond fantastic!! From our host to the door greater it was a great experience and we will most definitely be back when we come this way!! The food was so great melted in your mouth!!

First time. Its similar to wissota chop house. You build your own plate one item at a time so the bill gets pretty high. I feel like waiters/waitresses constantly check on tables a lot more frequently that seem to have money. It was 3 of us and he didn't check in much , yet the table of 3 ladies he was there constantly. Food was OK besides being pricy, so it should be more for special occasions.

Overall the place is not bad. The cuisine is American traditional. I can’t say that the food was fresh or not but was cooked well and tasted good. The staff is friendly and do their best to create a friendly and kind atmosphere. The waiter was attentive to us as best as possible. Unfortunately they don’t even try to clean mess on the table, they just remove dirty plates once and don’t even pay attention at napkins or other mess besides food. Though they do charge 18% for 8 people parties. The toilets are clean and they have crayons with coloring sheets for kids. I would probably go there again if stay at kalahari but would not come at Double Cut from away.

We stayed at the Kalahari Resort and wanted to stay close. We were celebrating my husband and daughter's birthday. The 2 of them ordered 2 different types of steaks and they were cooked perfectly and were delicious. My youngest had the kids burgers and were nothing special. I really wanted the lobster bisque and to try the sushi the DC sushi roll that the staff HIGHLY suggested. I would 100% go back for the soup! Delicious! The sushi tasted like cereal. I brought it to the room thinking it might taste better when it's not paired with such a savory delicious soup..... nope! I poured soy sauce all over it for breakfast. Tasted like salty cereal. The wait staff was very nice and the restaurant was beautiful! I would go again, just not for the sushi.

We were seated promptly at our reservation time. The service was excellent by our server Jamie who was very friendly, polite and answered all our questions regarding some food items. The food was very good along with a nice presentation. However, the restaurant was very noisy (acoustics), and it wasn't that crowded. For a pricey restaurant, it didn't have any tablecloths that you would except at a fine dining restaurant. It lacked the ambiance that one would expect from a high end restaurant like the Del Bar, Chop House and Fields in the Dells. Just seemed like eating in a basic restaurant with plain booths and tables.

We got here during HH which is 4-6PM. We ordered the shrimp cocktail and it was only 2 medium sized shrimp for $7. I would pass on this. We moved to our table and then was told we couldn't order anything else off the HH menu bc you can only order off it while sitting at the bar. It's not noted on the HH menu nor told to you by the staff about that so now you know! I would likely skip HH altogether as nothing is much cheaper and the drinks are $5 wells and $10 wines only. For apps at the table we got half dozen raw oysters and a large house salad. The salad had some sweet potato crisps on it and was good. For dinner we chose a porterhouse steak which came with no sides so we ordered asparagus and an order of mushrooms. The porterhouse steak was cooked medium rare and was large enough for us to both share. The steak was tender and had a good flavor. The asparagus were nice thick pieces. Overall the dinner was good and our server was very pleasant. However, they need to make clear about the HH rules if you want to engage in that.

This was a very nice eatery. Great food and great service. The liquor and wine selection was exceptional. Even though it was very classy they made our kids feel welcome which was appreciated. Our server was also very good. We would definately return.

Tammy was excellent, and the food was good. I expected more of an elevated atmosphere in regards to other diners (lots of kids and underdressed folks) I do understand that will be found at a family resort so it’s not meant as a harsh criticism just a feedback but I would probably go somewhere else for a romantic evening.

The atmosphere was beautiful and the staff was friendly. Aside from that, I don't have much good to say. We spent about $300 and could have had better food at Texas Roadhouse. The steak was good but not great. I ordered mine medium, and my boyfriend ordered medium rare. He also had oysters but had to request a seafood fork. Every one of our sides was cold. The cheese and sauce were so cold it wouldn't pour. We got another cheese, but it was not much better. I thought the hashbrowns would be a creamy side, but they reminded me of waffle house. They are crunchy with some melted shredded cheese on top. They were terrible. The asparagus was cold, and so was the broccoli. The garlic mashed potatoes were good. I was disappointed and I felt bad for my boyfriend for paying that much for that quality of food. I would not go here again. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I was very disappointed. We were not offered bread and butter.

The appetizers were pretty good but the mains do not meet the expectations of the money asked. The steaks are not wow to be honest and we waited like 15 min for a waiter to came took care of us. Way to many small kids and are yelling and making a lot of noise too. Not super bad but I won’t come back second time to be honest

My boyfriend & I came to celebrate my birthday here. We ordered the lobster mac & cheese, the filet mignon, the sushi platter and a couple drinks. Food was so delicious! A bit pricey but delicious. Our waiter Boran was initially so nice! He really made us feel welcomed. He even brought me birthday cake slice after the meal and I wasn't even expecting that. After we settled the bill he came back and asked us if he did anything wrong because the tip we gave was less than desired. I felt taken aback like wow. I've never had a server come back and ask us if anything was wrong with the service based on the tip amount. He also further explained to us that a majority of his pay comes from the tips and that he had to split the tip with the other parties involved which isn't any of our business really. It made us feel bad and sort of came off to me as a type of manipulation tactic to get more money out of us. I honestly couldn't even see the manipulation happening until I left and thought more about how the situation unfolded. The food was phenomenal but that situation made us not likely to ever return because never have I ever been in a situation like that. He really was such a nice guy too. Tis such a shame that we had to end a good dinner that way. I will never forget that encounter. You don't make people feel bad for giving extra. We didn't have to give you anything in the first place.

My husband ordered the steak. He ordered it medium well and got it very well done. It also was salty. Myself and my sister ordered the lobster and it was rubbery. All the sides were extra and expensive as well as the main course. The bars were good. Atmosphere was great. Piano bar was enjoyable.

Totally dissatisfied with the lobster. This place could’ve taken off the shell like most fine dine places. Plus lobster was almost raw. I do not like sushi. Filet mignon was rare and cooked expected but no taste. All in all I would recommend somewhere else.

TLDR: Del-Bar an excellent alternative. Disclaimer: I’ve been here several times, all of which were very good prior experiences. I was there with large party with several families. So large each family pre-ordered food days if not longer in advance. The food - pretty good, a solid B. Filet was good, miso seabass was tasty, rainbow roll was so so, cesar salad was excellent. Staff - pretty nice. however, 1) My son had to ask for his smoothie 4 separate times. 2) My pre-ordered filet mignon entree took 17 minutes to arrive AFTER everyone else received their food. 3) my kid's fries - never received and I unfortunately paid not knowing he didn't receive 4) My pre-ordered dessert was never to be found despite 4A) asking for it after the main course 4B) asking again reminding the server after they started taking dessert orders for the group 4C) everyone BUT me getting dessert. Ironically, I was the only pre-ordered dessert out of the ~35 of us. 4D) they did bring one about 23 min after everyone else finished their desserts. But like receiving an appetizer after the main course, i didn't want it any more and asked it be removed from my bill. Disappointing. Or Bad luck maybe.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate our child’s birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was nowhere near what we expected from a fine dining establishment. Right from the start, things went wrong. We were seated with the incorrect number of menus and had to go back up to the host stand ourselves to get the right amount. A few minutes later, we realized there were no drink menus at the table either, so we had to return to the host stand again to ask for them. The host said he had no drink menus and would hunt one down for us. When the food finally came out, it arrived at completely different times, leaving some of us waiting while others were already eating. To make matters worse, the $30 kids’ filet, ordered specially for the birthday child, had to be sent back. Instead of remaking it properly, the kitchen simply reheated the already cut-up steak and sent it back out. After some time, they did eventually prepare a new one, but it should never have taken that long or required multiple returns to the kitchen, especially on a special occasion. We were also never asked if we wanted another round of drinks. When a second round finally did show up, the cocktails were not even the same as what we had originally ordered. While the staff and manager were friendly and apologetic, there was no real effort to fix the situation beyond finally getting the second kids’ filet out. For a restaurant that presents itself as fine dining, the service, timing, and overall attention to detail were very disappointing. What should have been a smooth, enjoyable birthday dinner ended up feeling stressful and disorganized, which is not the experience we expected at this price point.

We came here as a group with our children to celebrate birthdays and were really excited about the experience. The place itself is beautiful, and the service was just okay — but unfortunately, the food completely ruined it. I ordered the half chicken. It tasted fine at first, but when I cut into it, the inside was literally bleeding and clearly raw. I should’ve taken a photo, but I was so disgusted and honestly traumatized by seeing raw chicken on my plate that I couldn’t even process it in the moment. It was beyond gross, and I genuinely don’t think I can eat chicken again after that. What made the experience even worse was the lack of professionalism from management. The waitress said she would get the manager, disappeared for a while, and then came back acting like nothing happened. The manager never came to our table to apologize or even acknowledge the situation. Yes, the dish was taken off the bill — but no one even told us. We only noticed it ourselves later. Between being served raw chicken and the complete lack of accountability from management, this experience was unacceptable. The food was bad, the response was worse, and it’s definitely not worth it. Traumatized and disgusted aren’t even strong enough words. I will not be returning.

I honestly have no idea how Double Cut has a 4.3-star rating, because this was one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time. The walleye was hands-down the worst I’ve ever eaten—dry, flavorless, and borderline inedible. The edamame was somehow even worse, the burger was completely forgettable, and when you manage to mess up mac and cheese, that tells me everything I need to know about the kitchen. Nothing we ordered was good. Not “meh.” Not “average.” Just bad across the board. For the prices they charge, this place should be delivering quality, not disappointment. We left shocked that this restaurant has the reputation it does. I won’t be back, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
