A Texas BBQ experience. There's a reason there is a line to the parking lot by 1030 am. The line goes fast when they open at 11 am. All of the meat is tender with a subtle smoke flavor and lightly seasoned. The sausages are full of flavor. The grits are delicious with a kick of pepper. This place was incredibly tasty. Our family got a few different things and we shared them around. We did enjoy everything we got. We got there about a half hour before opening (which is 11AM). We were the first in line. By the time doors opened there were probably 15 of us and it didn't slow down. This place does not serve all day. When they sell out, they are out for the day. Seems like typically they are out around 2pm. It's a little expensive, but it's also meat, so that's kind of just how it is. We paid around $120USD for our meal. Bathrooms were nice. Staff were friendly. This was a great place to experience Texas BBQ.

Delicious BBQ it is a must go if you are in town. Get there 30-45 mins prior to opening to ensure you get everything you want. They sold out of beef ribs in 20 mins from opening.

I have lived in Lubbock for 4 years and never made a trip to go here until recently. I definitely regret my decision as I soon realized this was the best barbecue food I have ever had. Amazing service and even better brisket.

This is a really good place to eat. I got smoked turkey, smoked chicken, and a bunch of sides. The atmosphere was very welcoming and even when it was busy we got our food in a timely manner and correctly as well. Everything was delicious and will be coming back.

Well if no one has told you, this might be the best barbecue in the state. This is genuinely the best barbecue that I've ever had. I would put it up with some of the bests. You need to experience it for yourself.

Wow! Good BBQ overall. I would like to come back for the beef ribs on the weekends. I had the half rack and it was deliciously smoked with a great caramelized bark. No sauce needed! The jalapeno corn was also yummy! I will be back.

West Texas BBQ doesn't play! We got there around 12:30, and there was no line. Having grown up in the deep south, am more than familiar with BBQ, and everything we had was very good. I would say the brisket and the pork ribs were the highlights for me. The collards and jalapeno corn were perfect sides. Don't sleep on Evie Mae's!

Absolutely phenomenal. It's what ever BBQ restaurant wants to accomplish and what every backyard pitmaster wants to achieve. The beef rib was absolutely fall-off-the-bone tender and moist and just full of flavor, the best I've ever had. The brisket flat and burnt ends war absolutely on point, as they say in the bbq world. The pork ribs were absolutely great. They gave me several options of sausage and I asked them to surprise me and man did they ever. 👍 Got there before they open, got to meet Emma the pitmaster and was given a grand tour of the pit room. Lovely young lady that knows BBQ well, got to talk with her for quite a while. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. If I could give this place and the food more than 5 stars I would.

Phenomenal proteins. The beef rib, brisket, turkey, pork ribs and sausage were up there with anyone's. Green chile and cheddar grits and the greens were Top notch. Banana Pudding might be my favorite anywhere!!

I've heard about this place for a while. We were in town for a TTU football game and tried it out. We got the sample platter, and all of it was awesome. Some of the best BBQ I've ever had.

Always a great BBQ place in the LBK area. Been here several times. Never had a bad meal. Price is reasonable for the quantity and quality. Must come close opening if on a lunch break or take it to go.

Tried this place last Saturday and wasn't aware it was a game day! Line was around the building and through the restaurant. You knew then that the food had to be great! We spent nearly $200 for 2 people, dine in and a Togo order. I think 🤔 my favorite was the Keylime Pie, it was the BEST I've had. Food was good, portions were good and the variety was great. It was a bit difficult to find a place to sit and eat but it clears out pretty quickly. I was in a walking boot and that was way to much standing for me until we finally got to order, but worth it. Oh, and they have FREE 🍺 BEER.

We stopped to eat there on a Saturday after leaving the farmers market. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious, we got a little of everything in the meat. The sides were good, the cole slaw and potato salad. We even brought leftovers home.

Truly one of the top BBQ spots in Texas. Portion sizes very generous. Everything we had was top notch. Absolutely loved the PB and J pie!

Updated review: Had the Prime Rib dinner tonight and it was fantastic. These guys do it right. I've eaten here many times over the last 13 months and the consistency in the quality blows me away. The brisket melts in the mouth like butter. This is Texas BBQ at its best. If you leave here hungry that’s on you. Wife and I spend about $30 here together, on par with normal restaurants around town. Family owned, excellent Texas BBQ. The line is there for a reason. 09/29/18 Update. When I used to live in Odessa this 4 hour round trip to eat at Evie Mae's was well worth the drive. Now, living in east Texas it's not so easy. I sure miss this place. The sausage was good, but not great. The ribs didn't disappoint and didn't want to stay on the bone either. Very tender and juicy with a great flavor. The oh my goodness brisket was awesome. Fork tender, with a great bark. Woof. Seasoned perfectly. The sides of cheese grits, which I enjoyed as much as the bbq. The coleslaw was also top notch. Now dessert. Which I rarely get, but couldn't pass on, because I've had it before. The key lime pie is among the best I've ever had. Nice and sour. Go here if your ever in the Lubbock area. Be prepared for a line, but it's usually not to bad. And don't show up late or you might not get what you came for.

Planned my 2022 cross country road trip around this place and boy did they deliver! Brisket was so tender, just melted in my mouth. Ribs were so tender with that pink smoke ring you always look for with any great bbq establishment! German sausage was my least favorite of the three, but was great too. Something has to come in third! What separates great bbq places from the pack is not only the meats, but the sides (and maybe dessert) too. Evie Mae’s BBQ delivers on all fronts!!! The cole slaw was crisp and sweet and the potato salad was mustardy with chopped dill throughout! The corn bread was moist and flaky!!! Evie Mae’s makes their desserts too so I had to try their coconut cream pie!!! Just outstanding!!! Tasted so fresh and delicious!!! Plenty of indoor seating so you can comfortably eat despite the sweltering heat outside!!! Can’t wait to return one day!!!

There was a long line upon entry, but I have never seen a line move as fast! Ribs were juicy, tender, and falling off the bone. Jalapeño corn, collard greens, grits, and peach&cherry cobbler were flavorful and delicious. Family friendly and would be perfect to bring kids cause the service was so quick! Highly recommend

Best bbq I have ever had. Was there for work, and coworkers dragged me to this place. The food was reasonably priced, and the sauces were so distinct and flavorful! The meat was soft and tender, although the chicken was a bit dry. The banana pudding was one of the best things I have ever had!

Stopped by Evie Mae’s in Wolfforth and it was delicious. Chris, the manager, picked my meal for me and he nailed it — burnt ends, ribs, loaded potatoes, collard greens, and coconut pie. Everything was excellent. The kids had the brisket cornbread with chips and loved it too. Definitely worth stopping in!

Two weeks ago over Valentines weekend my husband and I went to Fort Worth and ate at a large stockyards barbecue place with a branch on the Sundance Square. We spent $100 for two 2 meat plates that on which was only one thing on the plate that was edible. Everything else was either out of a box or just tasted so bad we could not finish it. We were so disappointed. Today we were out and decided to stop at Evie Maes and got a family platter knowing we were going to bring home extra food for dinner tonight and leftovers the next couple of days. The turkey was amazing and the pork ribs were out of this world. At the other unnamed place, the pork ribs did not even have the membrane taken off and barely any meat on them. These pork ribs were tender, delicious, and perfectly cooked. The turkey, brisket, sausage, ham, and everything else were perfect perfection I could eat about a gallon and a half of the collard greens The green chili cheese grits were amazing Everything was delicious reasonably priced and if you don’t stop to eat here if you’re within a 50 mile radius, you’re out of your mind We will definitely be back

I have to say, this place is what I think of when I get asked about Texas barbeque. I for into town this morning and 2 hours later I'm in line. The most tender, juicy, melt like butter in your mouth brisket ever! And the flavors are on point. The sausage is the best, they need to put these in the stores! The pork ribs outshine any ribs in Georgia and every BBQ joint I've been to in Georgia, I'll tell them if they are good or not, but they really need to try these! I wish I had the appetite to get some turkey as well!! Next time, or maybe I'll try the one in Miramar and get the turkey there! I'll be back for sure. Oh, almost forgot...don't the Texas Sheet Cake for dessert, you won't regret it!!

Arrived about an hour early on Saturday. 3rd in line. Had a great time talking with everyone until the doors opened. Brisket and burnt ends were very good. Not the best I’ve had, but soft, buttery, and smokey. Could have used more salt, and the fat lacked a little flavor compared to others I’ve had. Sausage was good, but touch cheese inside. The sides were money. Chile cornbread was the best cornbread I’ve tasted. Pinto beans were savory, meaty, and delicious. Collards were a little salty, but really good. The s’mores pie was just killer. Love it. Chocolate pecan pie was my son’s favorite. Overall, not the best meats, but the best sides. I look forward to coming back.

I had lunch here with a customer around 11:30 on 10/10. When we arrived, there was a short line, but it only took a few minutes to get to order. We both got 3 meat plates. I got the brisket, which was tender and juicy and had a great smoked flavor. Then the green chili cheese sausage, which was phenomenal. The casing had a hard snap, and the cheese added a creamy finish to the spiciness. The pork ribs were excellent. The meat came clean off of the bone and was packed full of flavor. The sides were outstanding as well! The baked potato casserole and grits were absolutely delicious. And to finish off a wonderful meal, I had the peanut butter pie! It was quite dense, but in the best way. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our food and had a good time!

Arrived 10 minutes before they opened and the line was huge. This was a good sign to me and they went well above what i expected! Every piece of meat i ordered simply melted in my mouth in an overindulgent crescendo. Even the sides were absolutely amazing! It was a steep price, but overly worth every penny i spent!

Absolutely worth the hype. I ordered enough food to kill an elephant and have now regret. Got a family platter, every meat was delicious. The beef rib was 10/10, so juicy and flavorful. The baked potato casserole was to die for along with the cornbread and the chili cheese grits. Coconut cream pie and pecan pie were phenomenal. When in Texas, it’s go big or go home so we ordered as much as I could to try a little of everything. Don’t regret it a single bit! Plus lots of free beer to choose from and a really nice seating area both inside and outside. If you’re thinking about trying it, do it.

Everything we tried was phenomenal. Spent 200 dollars but it’s expected at a place with such aura. Eve Mae’s did not disappoint. The brisket was some of the best in the state along with the pro ribs. Everything seasoned and smoked really well and very fulfilling. The greens were solid and the mash potato casserole was really good. You can not go wrong with any of the desserts. Can’t wait to go back just sucks it’s six am hours always.

The top 10 Texas BBQ ranking is not by chance at this place. The food and service are always top notch. When the owner greets you at the register and takes your order on a mid-afternoon Wednesday it is refreshing. My favorite is 1 meat lean brisket with collard greens and green chili grits. They make it look easy but behind the scenes there is great attention to detail. You are not a top 10 bbq spot in Texas for eight year unless you are great.

They didn’t joke when they said “everything is big in Texas” the taste is superb and atmosphere is inviting to eat over your tolerance :) Staff is friendly and helpful. Haven’t been to this side of Texas before, even when I was in the Army. For a couple of weeks here and yet haven’t had a barbecue or smoked treat until I came to this place. You can smell and taste the aroma from the parking lot. So get ready and be prepared to have a feast.

Okay, this place is Texas BBQ to boot! Hands down my favorite place to eat while visiting Lubbock. While this BBQ joint is just outside of Lubbock, it’s a super quick drive to get there. No more than 15 minutes from anywhere. Be warned that this place is so good and popular there is almost always a 30 minute wait to get in. It’s a long line, but it’s worth it! If you plan to eat here, don’t get here much past 11:00 AM or it will be closer to 12:30 before you get through the line. They have all the right meat choices. Brisket, ribs, chicken, sausage, etc… the sides… that’s where it’s at. Green chili cheese grits?! Ummm, yes please. Potato casserole is legit. They have 5 different pies and other cheese cakes and pudding. The whole experience is great. The people are awesome, both the staff and people waiting in line. They have a separate bakery and you can preorder pies, etc. also there is outdoor seating when the weather is appropriate. This was a highlight of our trip. I would highly recommend you stop here to eat. It’s BBQ that’s worth the trip and the wait. Best place to eat in Lubbock.

The sausage casing was very tough and the beef didn’t have much smoke flavor to us. BUT, it WAS the best pie that I have EVER had! I wish they shipped them because we live far away! SO good!

Top 10 well deserved! Showed up an hr before they opened and 1st in line. By 1030 the line was 30 ppl and by 11am at least 70 in line. Very friendly people work here and the brisket is top 10 worthy. The 4 meat plate special is enough to feed two(3ribs, 1/4lb pulled pork, 1/3lb brisket, 1 link) if you are in line most of the line is indoors after they open. I love how they skip on the wafers and give you the whole cookie for the banana pudding!

OH MY GOSH!!! First of all I will try to make this short but that may be difficult. We have been waiting to try this place for months. We knew it was going to be good due to the raving reviews but this place is a must if you want guaranteed great food. In one of the videos we watched the owners talked about wanting for everyone to love and eat good food and you can taste the love in the food! (The beans are so amazing.) They love there restaurant and we love it too! Can't wait to try more on the menu. Don't let the line scare you. Its worth the wait and they are working hard and fast! A fantastic spot for top-tier BBQ! We arrived around 11:15 am on Sunday and while the line was about 30 people deep, it moved super fast. They even offer free beer (Yuengling and Busch) while you wait, which is a nice touch. The BBQ itself was incredible; the brisket was great and the ribs were impressive. The #6 family platter is a seriously good deal and comes with a ton of food. For sides, don't miss the corn and the baked potato casserole. The coconut cream pie was fantastic and fluffy, though the banana pudding was just okay. It was a little warm inside, but honestly, it was a small price to pay for such a great experience. It's easy to see why this place has been in the top 10 for the last decade!

WARNING FREE BEER! Best BBQ I have had in a long time. The workers were awesome and owner was super sweet. I had heard so much about this place and finally got to try it out. Trust me you won’t be disappointed. Will definitely come back and try the secret menu sandwich The New Mexican. We tried green beans with bacon, jalapeño cream corn, beef rib, smoked turkey, green chili cheese sausage, sliced brisket, and single pork rib, smoked chicken salad, and baked potato casserole. This place is a must if you visit Lubbock. Be sure to get there early, trust me. Beef Rib is only sold on Fri, Sat, and Sun. I believe it is limited quantities on them so when they run out they’re out. Don’t worry the pork ribs are equally good as well as all their other meats. If you can only pick one side get the baked potato casserole. Didn’t have room for deserts but the pies looked phenomenal. I really wanted to try the limited peanut butter jelly pie and will come back for the Keylime pie. Oh did I mention yes free beer, say what you want I opted for the Margarita Topo Chico! If I had one recommendation I would request them to add Cayman Jack margarita fiesta flavors to the beer trough in the summer.

This is an update to my review last year. This time, we actually went to the restaraunt to see if the BBQ was as good as we remembered… it did not disappoint. This the definitely the yardstick at which I now measure all of my BBQ Brisket and pork ribs standards by. So good that you did not need the sauce… but add some sauce as well and it will make it that much better. Fantastic BBQ place. Did I tell you we drove an extra hour to go to this place for a late lunch. They only open from 11-3 pm. This place is the GOAT when it comes to BBQ. One more thing, try the coconut cream pie for dessert. This BBQ was catering a wedding I attended. It is absolutely outstanding BBQ. The ribs were the most moist, tender, melt in your mouth I’ve ever had. Seasoned perfectly. No need for sauce. The brisket was perfectly balanced with just enough fat to melt as you start to but down. Your taste buds will love you for it. Then there was the corn and potato salad. Fantastic. I am so impressed that I will go out of my way the next time I am anywhere near Lubbock TX. Highly recommend with a 6 star rating. Wish we remembered to take to some pics… but will update with pictures when we eat there.

We heard of Evie Mae's through the word of mouth, and pulled up on a Sunday afternoon. We waited in line for about 10 minutes to place an order, and it was really cool to see that they write what items they ran out of in real-time. I ordered a two-meat plate with brisket and pulled pork, and chose the potato salad and baked potato casserole as my sides. I originally wanted the green beans, but they ran out when I was going to order, so I panicked and ordered the potato salad instead. The brisket was delicious! Very flavorful. The pulled pork was super juicy and also tasted great. The potato salad was not my favorite, it was very pickle-heavy and I do not like pickles, so I did not finish it. The baked potato casserole felt like it was missing something, and I added some salt and pepper to enhance its flavor. There are plenty of condiments available, including white bread made in Texas! The seating in this area is pretty broad, and you likely will have to share a table with someone since there are large tables. This was a really cool experience and I am so glad I was able to visit.

We came here for lunch and were not disappointed! There was not a bad thing there. The brisket was flavorful and tender. I am a pulled pork guy and it’s one of my favorites. The green chili cheese sausage had a great snap with flavor. Don’t skip out on the chili OR the sides. They did not miss. My girlfriend loved the pie as well. Would definitely come back here. We split the three meat and chili/ pie and it was good for both of us.

Better than the installment inside of United Supermarkets. No wait time today at 11am. All the meats we're very tender and nothing was dried out, however the bark flavor of the brisket was a little lacking. Peppercorn on the turkey was good as was the overall flavor of the pulled pork. Cobbler was a bit over cooked but good none the less. Servers were very friendly.

Cool BBQ atmosphere! Waited in line about 30 mins. Got the family meal. We had brisket, ribs, turkey, chicken and sausage. Sides collared greens, baked potato casserole, jalapeño corn. Sides were good but small portions. Meats were good. Brisket a little dry. Overall a good meal.

Right up there. Brisket was moist. If your a brisket lover, it was good today! Ribs were nice too, St. Louis style. Fixings and sides also right there.

brisket was the best thing, id give that 4.6 stars. Pulled pork was 4.5 stars. The ribs were 4.3. Sausage was the worst, over cooked and tough 4.0. If i were to go back i would just get the brisket. Maybe it was the time of day i went or the batch but it was decent BBQ, one of the better places in town

Evie Mae’s BBQ in Wolfforth, just outside Lubbock, is ranked 8 in Texas Monthly’s top BBQ joints. I have had my fair share of BBQ and I wasn’t super impressed with it, honestly. The wow factor wasn’t there. The chili was good as were the ribs and turkey but the brisket was a little dry. I also liked the cornbread. I was glad to take my local clients there who had never been.

This was the second time I've eaten there and the food is great! The service is awesome and the workers are friendly. I highly recommend you try it if you like BBQ. I like the brisket the best. I also like the baked potato casserole, it has huge chunks of bacon 😋 I would trade my meal for the cheesecake 😆 if I didn't want to eat an actual meal. I know this is a BBQ place, but I'm giving four stars because of the "smoke" smell that lingers inside. It smells delicious, but your hair and clothes will smell like you've been outside smoking the meat yourself 😁 Honestly don't know if there's anything that can be done about it.

We had takeout from Evie Mae's to celebrate my nephew's graduation. The brisket was tender and delicious. I also really enjoyed the cheesy grits. Definitely worth a stop for the tender meat!

The chopped brisket was good but too greasy. The turkey was good. But the baked potato casserole was bland and not very good. The potato salad was awful, no flavor and the potatoes were too chunky. Free Beer was good. We’ve had better bbq in Cloudcroft New Mexico.

Today's stop.. Evie Mayes in Lubbock, Texas. (Wolforth) We heard this place was the best BBQ and always has a line a mile long! So, we decided to stop in at 11am. Great choice because there was no line at all. We walked right on in. Ordering was super fast and simple. Decent selection on the menu. We chose to go with a family meal since there were 3 of us. Family meal was a better cost effective option than an individual plate. It cost us $77.77 and was supposed to feed about 3-4 people. (We're fluffy and love to eat). We wanted more food for our buck! 🤑 We ordered our 4 sides, potato salad, loaded potato casserole, greenbeans and jalapeno cornbread. We literally got 1 cornbread to split amongst the 3 of us. That was a bit crazy. (We fought to the death for that cornbread.) Atmosphere was friendly and inviting. Staff was very courteous and happy! Food I wouldn't say super flavorful but good. All the fixin's were there for you to self serve. After a bit the entire restaurant got packed. We did enjoy our lunch and most definitely the desserts! Was not impressed with the food at all. We ordered 3 different meals (chicken, ribs and pulled pork bbq). None were very good. The service was great and the atmosphere really cool. Maybe we didn't order the right stuff but we felt we gave it a good try. You can have free can beer while you are there which is really unique. Only open for lunch

Evie Mae’s has a great atmosphere and it’s clearly a popular spot, the lines were long but moved fast, which I appreciated. The staff seemed efficient and the overall vibe was welcoming. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the hype for me, especially for the price. The BBQ itself was a bit dry, and the beef rib rub was noticeably over-salted. The sides were also underwhelming; potato salad was mid, the green beans weren’t good at all, and the cornbread was honestly a miss. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but it definitely didn’t feel worth the wait or the cost in my opinion. Maybe it was an off day, but this visit didn’t wow me.

They close at 3 pm or when they run out of food. We got there at 145. They were out of brisket. All they had was ribs, which were great and sausage. We had pie for dessert which wasn't good. On a positive note. They have free beer. So we were kind of disappointed in having no brisket. But it must be good if they ran out. So get there early.

23 dollar plate for 2 meats and get 3 thin slices of dry brisket, Thank God the pork ribs were better. I'm guessing coming earlier is better ate around 2 and our meat was not hot. I'm confused as to why the Green beans are so sweet but the Collard greens were better. Not a fan of baked potato casserole either. But the Turkey was good and not dry. Sat by back door to back patio and confused by the lack of storage, this place is huge but 2 areas with open shelves with their stock of napkins cups etc out in view

I never leave reviews, but this is some of the worst BBQ I’ve ever had😅 The brisket just tasted like grease and pepper, the cornbread was drier than a Popeyes biscuit and lacked flavor, and the collards greens were very vinegary. The bbq sauce wasn’t good either…. I paid $16.24 and once I sampled everything, gave it away….. on the bright side, staff seemed nice and it was nice inside.

This was honestly the worst barbecue I have ever eaten. So I have passed this place numerous times and have seen the cars piled up around the building so I said let me see what the hype is about. So for one it is way over priced because for 25 dollars i got one slice of brisket and leg quarter and it was like rubber and two sides. The brisket was overly seasoned with a salt and pepper based rub and like I said the chicken felt like I was chewing and a rubber kids toy. If this is the best west texas has to offer we are in trouble. Oh but maybe people keep coming back to this place due to the free beer highlight of the meal for me. Brisket was tender though but the seasoning overpowered the meat. Ive had better bbq at peoples personal homes. This was a joke!!!!!
