Macy and Damon took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed! Would definitely come back again!
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the service was extremely slow. We waited a long time just to be acknowledged, and when we finally placed our order, they forgot several of the items we requested. To make matters worse, the staff was rude and dismissive throughout our visit. What was most upsetting was the clear racist attitude we experienced, which is especially ironic and disheartening considering this is supposed to be a “Mexican-style” restaurant. As a customer, I expect to be treated with basic respect, and that did not happen here. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of other restaurants that know how to treat people with dignity and offer better service.
I usually try and stay away from up scale tex-mex places as I just don't feel the two go together. However, Picoso's maybe a game changer. If you order the queso also ask for some green hach chili so you can add it to the queso. Just be careful, the green chillies are way hot but really enhance the over all flavor. The steak burrito is something really special, it's not as big as some of the others around town but the steak is really juicy, and smothered in a really good queso. We walked out very full and happy.
Macy was an amazing server! Her service this morning was very fast friendly and efficient! Thank you Macy!
Jacob was a good waiter. He checked on us 4 times. The atmosphere could use a little more colorful artwork. The bathroom had toilet seat cover holders, except they were MT. We really enjoyed the food. We will be back!
We went on a Sunday evening and Samantha was great! So friendly and gave us great service! The managers and staff were so friendly. The birria tacos and chicken lime rice was delicious!
Met some friends there. We all enjoyed our meal. Waiter was attentive. Good food and service! Highly recommend!
We had lunch there. The food was excellent, Eleanor our server went above and beyond. The atmosphere was relaxing and we had a wonderful time. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends.
Completely wonderful !! Our first time eating here ! We went in on a win and it just stole our hearts and jaylyn if I spelled your name right your a Badass waitress thank you again we'll be back !!
The Churro Pudding for dessert was fantastic. Our server Macy was incredibly friendly, efficient and informative.
The dining experience at Picoso’s was wonderful! The service was exceptional. Our waitress, Deb, was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She offered great suggestions and ensured all our needs were met without us asking.
Food was very good. We had the fajitas, chicken, steak, and shrimp. The chicken tortilla soup was the best!
All the food was fantastic and Isabella was the best waitress! Incredible food and service!! Recommend 100%
Such a great atmosphere and the food is delicious!! My server name was Dylan, and he is the absolute best! Very kind and absolutely amazing! Best service ever! Thank you Picosos! I will definitely spread the word!
Fantastic. Really enjoyed our visit. Went early and was sat right away. Service was great. Food was prompt and good. We had chili rellenos and kids had other plates. Everything was very tasty and nothing was bland or boring. A great place to go for a date or family. Definitely going back
The nachos were great, but the best part? Desert! But also, every month they raise money for a good cause in the community. This month it's the new floor for the Children's Hospital at Covenant. Part of the proceeds from the Churro Ice Cream Donuts went to the cause! and it is AMAZING! Thanx for the great service Ethan.
A wonderful dining experience. This place not only has really great food but the service was top-notch. Our server Veronica was right on it and was very very helpful with the menu and drinks. This place is unique in that each month they take a charity this month it is oncology at the children's hospital in certain food items and drink items they give a percentage of that when it is purchased in the restaurant. They were very kind to show us which items on the menu and I really felt that that was a great idea to give back to the community. I would highly recommend this place it's good and it's good for the community.
I hadn’t dined at Picosos in months- Today the food was great, delivered timely, and Emily, my server, made the experience extra special.
We truly had the BEST experience here what an AWESOME place to eat the food is incredible and the service is so Good ! We had Max as our server and he made our dining experience for Date night so fun! We Love this place and recommend it highly !!!!!
Came on graduation weekend, expecting to wait at least an hour for a table for 2.. we were seated quickly, and our server was great despite having lots of tables to tend to. Food was reasonably priced, and the outdoor seating with live music was nice! The shrimp street tacos were the perfect portion, and guacamole was excellent.
Was a little out of the way from the main stretches but worth it. Started with a great app. Then moved into the main course. The waiter was helpful with suggestions. Started with the supreme queso. It was fantastic. The chips did run out pretty fast and we had to flag the waiter for more. Then the main course of the loaded avocado and the avocado enchiladas. Both were amazing! Highly recommend this place.
Every time I'm traveling to or from Texas I stop here. Love the gluten free food. This time the handsome bartender took good care of my food. Love this place!
Food was amazing! Atmosphere was awesome! Eleanor our server was super sweet and made our first time a great experience! Goated place for real.
Riley was our bartender and he was great he made sure all the food came out correctly and he made us some great margaritas
Writing this review per my husband’s request. He ordered the sophapillas after dinner and we were brought 8 lbs worth of them. #ValueForMoney Our waiter was also great!
This was my first visit to Picoso's. I took my wife there for our anniversary. The food was very good. The restaurant was very nice inside and out. Our server was good over all but brought some items we didn't ask for that I think were for another table. That is why I gave 4 stars for service. We enjoyed our meal and we will go back again soon.
Learned that they are associated with Leal's and had to try them. It was actually better than Leal's. The group loved all the food they received. Service was fast and efficient on a Friday. Prices are equal with the quality
We ate at Picosos Feb, 11, 2026. We had a group of 8 and they were very happy to accommodate our large group. Our server was very friendly and efficient. The wait for our food was no long at all. The food was excellent. Everything came out hot and fresh. I had the crab and shrimp enchiladas...oh my, they were so good. Everyone at the table said their food was very good as well. Their chips and salsa are great, the chips thin and crispy and the salsa lots of flavor and just enough heat. We definitely will be returning.
had a wonderful experience at Picosos Restaurant! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Tasha and my waitress were absolutely amazing — attentive, kind, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. The steak tacos were delicious, and the portions were very generous, especially for the price. It’s not always easy to find food that is both affordable and high quality, but Picosos definitely delivers on both. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting from out of town or anyone looking for delicious, satisfying, and reasonably priced food.
Service Was Amazing And Quick…We Barely Put A Dent Into Our Appetizer Before The Food Came Out, Trevas And Emily Made The Experience Pleasant!!! And I Must Add I’m Never One To Get Desert But The Presentation They Gave Was Amazing, So Me And My Mom Both Ordered Us Some Desert!!! Defiantly Will Be Returning Soon And Highly Recommend!!! 10/10
Great waitress. Very friendly, held great conversation, super attentive. Also had some delicious birria tacos, and my wife's fajitadilla was really, really solid. Good environment, great place to hang out for 45min-1hr and enjoy some good company.
Beautiful place, everything was pristine. The food was great, starting with the chips and salsa, the best I’ve had in a long time, Nachos, fajitas, enchiladas, naked rellenos, kids food, everything very delicious. The service was great as well, everyone was very attentive and quick. I loved the concept of the restaurant.
The food was delicious (fat tacos!) The drinks were flavorful. (Some margarita come by the pitcher!) The service, Keisha was AMAZING! (The reason for the 5stars🙂) She was knowledgeable, attentive, quick and charming. Had a great experience!
Jasmine was amazing!! She never left us needing anything, she was on top of everything!! The tres leches was perfect!! My husband's salmon was cooked to perfection!! Great experience
We live out of town and have enjoyed dining at Picoso’s when we are in Lubbock. The staff is always super friendly and courteous, and we’ve been very impressed with the food. Our daughter graduated from Texas Tech in December, and we reached out to Picoso’s about catering a party we did that afternoon. Everything was fantastic! The delivery was prompt, and our guests commented how tender the meat was and how flavorful the food was! I even received a follow-up from Katy, who helped coordinate things for our event, which I thought was so kind. I highly recommend Picoso’s for dining and catering—wonderful food and service!
I ordered takeout from this place, I got one carne asada taco and two chicken tacos with the gluten free modification (corn tortilla). I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of food I received. I received a bag of tortilla chips, a sizable tub of salsa, and some lime wedges along with my three tacos. The food was delicious, and I felt it was a good price for the amount I received! I am glad I stopped by here during my travel in Texas.
I’m so happy we found this place! The food is excellent…great portions! We have ordered several times now and will definitely be back!
This place is always a 10/10 the food is great every single time. The service is amazing I highly recommend Isabella she is very fast, efficient and kind! Perfect place for a date night and good drinks!
We had a reservation here after work one evening based on a coworker’s recommendation, and it did not disappoint. Our table was ready before we arrived, complete with chips and salsa waiting for us. Our server (whose name I unfortunately missed) was attentive and friendly, and the manager stopped by several times once she learned it was our first visit as a party of seven. Both made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent — I ordered the street tacos and enjoyed all three varieties. Everyone in our group loved their meals, and the margaritas were fantastic. We travel to Lubbock often, and Picoso’s has definitely earned a spot on our must-visit list. Thank you to the team for such a great dining experience!
Upscale Mexican food dining experience. Great restaurant with professional and friendly staff. The birria tacos were top notch, with fluffy flavorful Spanish rice, and good charro beans. The chips and salsa also great. The house margarita was better than most premium margaritas, maybe house is in reference to its size?!
I went to Picoso’s with friends on a Saturday night for dinner. We were seated right away, ordered & were served drinks quickly. I ordered a birria taco & it was delicious & and more than I could eat. We shared fried bread for appetizer & it, too was delicious. Then we shared sopapillas for desert. I did not leave this restaurant hungry! The next time I visit Lubbock, I will be sure to go back.
We visited on a weekend and there was a bit of a wait for a 5 top table. Decided to try out the bar and start with a Chilton Flight! Each flavor was delicious and more different than the previous. Chips snd salsa were great. The bartender was awesome so when our table was ready I opted to continue with the bar service. The menu offers many options so I asked for a recommendation. Our food was delicious and of very good quality. We had been waiting so long to try this restaurant and it surpassed all our expectations. Fantastic all around. We will be back on our next visit to Lubbock. Can’t wait.
Enjoyed some delicious Mexican food at this family-owned local restaurant. The decor is beautiful and our server was great. The shrimp, chicken and beef fajitas were all cooked perfectly and oh so good. The tortillas were fresh and the chips and queso were wonderful. Our enchiladas were yummy. We want the recipe for their rice. It was the best we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back!
Wow!!! What a first time experience, from the food to the service we were blown away. Our waitress Deb was amazing she got us seated fast and made sure to let us know the specials and even recommended some of her favorites to try. The food was hot fresh and Tasted incredible. I can't wait to come back again and I just left 😩

Excellent lunch taco and enchilada combo. Great price. Fast service. Server could be accused of being over attentive. Well lit dining area with great abstract art on the walls.
Everything we ate was so good… The brisket queso, enchiladas, tacos and the churro donut. The waiter was nice. It looks nice inside the restaurant. Everything was just great!

drinks, queso and food all were great. Have been here before and will eat here again for sure Large menu with something for everyone. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Seated right away. Service was good and the food for the most part was good. I will eat here again.
Overall a great place to eat. We were looking for a chimichanga. Their restaurant menu online said they had one. The in store restaurant did not have one. The waiter did a great job and had the kitchen make one anyway even though they had changed their menus and did not carry it any longer. Food was great, and service was top notch.
Nice resteraunt with friendly and attentive staff. Lots of food choices to choose from. Queso was good but as with all our food everything could have been warmer. Order to table time longer than expected. Decor interesting and unique as in not your typical Mexican resteraunt. Bathrooms were very clean. Plenty of parking. This is a good place to bring co workers, friends, family, or a date. Our visit went pretty smooth for such a new resteraunt. Kudos and congratulations on your new eatery! PS Skyler, you did a great job tonight! Thank you for your exemplary service!
Updating my review from 2 to 4 stars. The last 3 times I've ate from here it's been as good as it's ever been! Still pricy but maybe they're back? Or maybe it's that we've been going on weekends only. Original review: Been a customer for at least 6-7 years (primarily for takeout but sometimes dine in). This place has gone downhill hard, unfortunately. The food is now quite inconsistent. Sometimes it's good but increasingly, it tastes like it was made incorrectly. The white queso was always the biggest selling point of this restaurant but these days it often tastes like nacho cheese for some reason. The chips are usually stale. The entrees are typically ok, but fairly bland (this is a TexMex place, not Mexican). The other big problem is their prices have skyrocketed (and way more than inflation). Their new online order platform now adds extra fees, too. Service has always been a mixed bag, but I didn't mind this as much until the prices went through the roof.
Crowded parking lot. I walked in with my family of 3. It was about 12:30pm. We were seated promptly on a Saturday that's fast. Our server was great, he took our drink order and gave us time to browse the menu he also listened well when we ordered. The food came out quick. Awesome! Presentation of the food... Definitely did not do it justice compared to its taste.😋👆👌🏼✌️🤙
First visit, great experience! Our waiter was Nate and he was awesome!! Good food, great service. We had 2 mangers come back to check on us, which was surprising. Most places you might only see 1. If you order the sopillas, be warned....it is a huge order for $5. We took most of them home!! Definabtely a repeatable offense!!
First visit: (opening weekend) Went for dinner tonight around 10PM, there was no wait. Service (Aaron) was excellent and food was fantastic. Had the Chili Relleno and wife had the Stuffed Avocado. Both dishes were excellent with a solid amount of food. We had the chocolate explosion for dessert, a great suggestion by our waiter. Overall: Good food, nice venue, and great service. We will definitely go back. 5 Star visit So I have been back 2 more times since the first review. Second time (Lunch, 5/19): I had the chicken thighs and they were not very good. They had a rubbery texture and the flavor wasn’t great. The potatoes were ok, but many were burnt. We also tried the Tres Leches. It wasn’t great. Cake was too dense and dry in the middle. 3 stars on that visit. 3rd time: (6/22) for dinner. Had the carnitas street tacos. They were very good. The meat had good flavor and the pickled onions added some sweetness. A little heat would have been a nice addition, but still solid offering. 5-Star visit. Wait staff has been great, friendly, and attentive each time. The facilities are nice too. Clean, bright. Overall I’d call it 4.25 Stars. Will continue to go back.
MUY EXCELENTE!! What an experience. We walked in rather late and could tell the crew was prepping to shut down for the evening. That had no impact on our service. The food was delicious, our server didn't act annoyed or tired. The exterior is what made us walk in because we saw it from across the street. I'm so glad we came in for a visit. The decor was great as well. I highly recommend visiting this place if you're out in Lubbock, TX.
Good supreme nachos. Needed a little more tomatoes and lettuce for my taste. Beautiful atmosphere, loved the lights/chandeliers. Bathroom was clean and had beautiful tile work. Waitress was nice and greeted us well but didn't check on us once we got the food; I never got a refill. I will say the restaurant was pretty busy though. When I paid cash she didn't bring my change back so no tip for her.
We had arranged to have a staff Christmas party last night. When we arrived the menu had not been coordinated like we discussed with the event planner. It was disheartening, but the staff did their best to make things right. That went along ways with me because the party could have been a bomb. I wanted to give an honorable mention to the waiter named Trenton who really stepped up and did his best to make the party a success. Also to the manager who showed up to help him.
Dinner last night at this restaurant. I ordered a stuffed avocado with steak and my wife had a chili relleno stuffed with cheese. Okay here we go... Service was spot on. The food was good but in my opinion could be so much better. My stuffed avocado was more like a mound of food (see pic), kinda weird. Tasty but presentation was lacking. Luckily for me my wife's liked her relleno. You know what they say, if momma's not happy it a long ride home. P.S. Picoso's was good, I guess I'm to use to Texmex.
It was ok. Not our favorite for Mexican fare in Lubbock. My lime cilantro chicken was bland and very salty and the broccolitini was tough, but the rice was delicious. My husband's combination plate was pretty good except for the brisket street taco- the meat was cold. Our waitress was great and very attentive. There was a processing fee, a mixed drink processing fee and an Upcharge for the briskit taco we weren't expecting. Added about $6 to our total.
been a customer since 2018 when I started at Tech and got homesick for Leal’s. this place was there for me when I didn’t want to drive 45 home. unfortunately, the past couple years has been such a let down. inconsistent food and pricing going through the roof. chips have changed within the year and honestly just suck now. the hatch queso is great, when it doesn’t taste like velveeta. my order is wrong quite a bit, as well. a chicken burrito with some queso and green sauce should not be 17 dollars, maybe a few years ago when it was better, i’d question that price a little less. the chicken is usually kinda dry these days. not sure what it is about the inconsistency, but i ordered again because i was craving my usual and it was SO GOOD. the picosos taste i know all too well. queso was delish and green sauce perfectly spicy. when it’s good, it’s sooooo good.
I liked this place. Pretty good variety of food...some good Mexican style dishes. Our service was great considering we had 25 in our party. This place has good Gulten Free options and vegetarian options. Prices are a little high but that is pretty normal these days, but you do get a good portion. the restaurant is a nice place, and I love the story behind it...if you are inclined to look it up but 100% of profits to employees and community is pretty amazing. This was my first time at this restaurant and I walked away full and happy...The food is on par for what I expected, and our service bumped my score up a star. 4/5
The food is okay, the service was iffy. \nIn all fairness...nope I got nothing. It's just okay and with the price you want better than okay.\nThe presentation was pretty.

The food looks good but the two times I have eaten there the food has been too salty. It was clean and the staff was friendly but too expensive.
Brisket & chicken street-style tacos were both very good. Chris (aka CJ) was fun and provided excellent customer service. We will definitely go back.
Went here for a family dinner of Friday night. Really enjoyed sitting on the patio and hearing live music with our meal. Salsa was good. I had the shrimp stuffed avacado. It was good too. Would …
Wish I could rate it at 50 it doesn't deserve the whole 3 star. It's a okay restaurant only because it's a clean place, nothing was special or nothing grabbed my attention. Customer service wasn't the best, waiter was careless for his job, Chile relleno's were very greasy and pricey for the size but beans, rice, and queso were pretty tasty, Do I recommend, yes because you'll have try for yourselves but I don't think I would like to return.
It's mostly trash. The food is the definition of mid... Ths service was fine. The tortillas are acceptable, but the protien is minimal and bleh. If your are gonna charge premium prices then at least serve a full chicken breast... or at least provide high qualify shrimp. Neither was presented. It's a 5 out of 10. It's fine, if ya don't know any better
So Picoso’s is a beautiful place with seriously delicious food. The reason for my lower rating comes down to poor management and careless service. To be clear I’ve never had a bad waiter or waitress, but the kitchen is always behind, so I’ve never had a smooth experience. Wife and I are also watching carbs, so we make a few changes, avoiding standard rice and refried beans. Those changes ALWAYS get ignored or come out after we’re already finished eating. Today, I ordered rellenos with charro beans and fajita veg. Charro beans never came for me or my son. I got a giant pile of rice…which should’ve been replaced by fajita veg. Fajita veg came after our plates had been cleared. Some of this is poor management, some is the kitchen, and some falls on our server for allowing the plates to come out wrong and incomplete. This is one of my favorite restaurants that I normally avoid because even when we’ve ordered on menu with no changes…the food is always slow and comes out wrong. Someone needs to put a little care into training the staff and getting things working smoothly between the kitchen and dining room.
Eh, it's OK. I'm not in a hurry to come back, but the food was ok. I had the Birria tacos. Not much meat in the tacos, and the Birria sauce was really salty. The beans prob could have cooked a bit longer, they were really firm. Not the worst Mexican food I've had, but definitely not the best. Especially for the price. I'll prob visit again some day and try something else. Someday.
Judging by how nice the restaurant looks outside and inside i though the food was going to be at the same level, i was hoping for more delicious food, don't get me wrong the food is ok but it didn't make me want to come back for more, the service was great very friendly and polite waitress.
My review is just as mixed as the rest of them. Service: 7 of 10 Atmosphere: 9 of 10 Food: 5 of 10 Order accuracy: 3 of 10 So, the restaurant is very nice. The decor and atmosphere is amazing. 3 of us stopped in at about 6:45 pm on a Wednesday. We we're seated immediately but, The booth we we're seated in had not been cleaned and I had to wipe chip crumbs off with my hand. The girl that seated us didn't seem to care and walked away quickly. However, our waiter was very personable and prompt. No, he did not clean the table. He brought our drinks very quickly and gave us a fair amount of time to order. The food arrived very quickly. Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 orders were not right. I ordered the Cozumel, 1 enchilada, 1 crispy relleno, 1 taco and beans and rice. My relleno looked like a chicken strip. No sauce on top (see pics). I cut into it and there was nothing inside. I showed the waiter and he informed the manager. I was given a really good looking relleno to make up for it. My girlfriend's son ordered the 3 queso enchiladas. 1 cheese and 2 chicken. He got all chicken. Since he didn't care, he rolled with it. Girlfriend's plate was fine. The food was all pretty bland except for the food that had the yellow queso on it. That was extremely salty. Even the bowl of plain queso was salty. The taco on my plate was crispy on one side and soggy on the other. The rice had ok flavor but, was dry. The beans were good. We had chicken enchiladas and the chicken was extremely dry. Needless to say, no one took to go boxes.
I wanted to give 5 stars but we had two different experiences during our two visits. For the first time (5/5/2021) on weekday, my wife and I went to try this place on a weekend. Even though we called the restaurant to reserve the table, they asked us to walk-in anytime. Our server Chris took care of us very well and the food was really good. One of our food Cilantro lime chicken thigh was so dry and when reported, Aisha was able to take care of it acknowledging that the chicken was so dry! For dessert, we tried fried ice cream and it was really good. Overall, we had a good experience. Second time, we decided to go with our kids on weekend and reserved the table (by 11am itself) for 5 at 1:30pm on 5/8/2021. We were given a table immediately after we checked in at the front desk. We ordered food at 1:30 and the food didn’t arrive till 2:30. Our kids started to feel hungry and one of my boy stared to cry. We then requested the server to bring the kids food first if it’s ready. They messed up the order and gave beans tacos instead of beef tacos! Out of hungry and frustration our 10yrs boy started crying and wanted to leave. We decide to cancel all our food and leave to fast food to get something for our kids immediately. By that time, we thought to inform the manager and leave but he apologised for what happened and took care of our food. Meantime they refilled our chips for the third time. Almost 2:45, we got all our food and finally ordered cakes. We ordered Desserts, Chocolate eruption and Tres leches. We were told by our friend that they have the best desert to try!!!! Our Tres leches were so bad that they poured cinnamon powder on whole portion of it and really ruined it even though the menu says it will be topped up with fresh strawberries!! Upon asking, our server apologised that they were out of strawberries and so poured cinnamon powder on the cake!!! They didn’t even ask us if we like cinnamon or not! We didn’t like it and just left it on the table since we don’t want to again complain and make our kids feel bad of what happened. We hope we won’t be visiting it again after our second bad experience and definitely our kids will not be willing to visit again either. For others, I would recommend visiting on week days and not on weekends especially if you have kids!!!!
We tried this place because our coworkers said it was really good. Well it was okay like just okay. The service was okay, the food was okay and the ambiance was okay. But we will not go again.
Service very good. Atmosphere is very good as well. The food is just okay. We ordered the chicken street tacos 3/5, guacamole 2/5, chips (thin and crispy) 4/5, birria tacos 3/5, carne guisada 3.5/5…

I had never heard of this place and just saw it driving by. So I whipped a U-turn and pulled in for lunch. I love trying new places. I know it is a gamble, but life is too short not to take risks. Well, I got bit on this gamble. Picoso's is just one more cheap Southwest cuisine restaurant made up to look like a fancy dining joint. They do not serve authentic Mexican food here that I could see. Certainly nothing that would resemble anything you would get at a traditional restaurant in Mexico. Don't get me wrong, Southwest cuisine done right is amazing, and I love it as much as the next person but it is not Mexican cuisine. It just frustrates me that I go in a place called a "Mexican Kitchen" and they don't serve Mexican cuisine. So let me rate the feed we did have here. Chips and Salsa These were actually not that bad. I have certainly had worse. However, they were not that great either. The salsa had a little more bite to it than other texmex joints, but it was pretty much just tomatoes with no other detectable elements. It was too salty as well. The chips are house-fried tortillas, which were pretty decent compared to other places that serve chips out of the bag. So that is one good thing. Chicken Tortilla Soup: I love soup, so when I saw they were serving Chicken Tortilla soup, I got excited and ordered it. When it came out, it was tiny (see the picture); about as much soup as you could fit in a regular coffee cup, or the dish the salsa came in. They gave me a literal tiny ice-tea spoon to eat it with (so they know it is not that much), and it is only nine bucks! I dipped my spoon in, picked it up to take a bit, and the cheese stretched from the bowl to my mouth! OMG! It was so salty I almost spit it out. It was a bowl of melted cheese with some tortilla strips, that was it. I dug through the whole bowl, trying to find a single piece of chicken, and there was none. I would call this CHEESE soup, because it certainly was not Tortilla Soup! I told the server to take it away because I could not eat it. It was beyond edible over salted. Message to the cooks. Salt is a flavor enhancer, not a spice. Its purpose in cooking is to bring out the flavors of the spices, not overwhelm them. Chili Relleno My wife had the Chile Relleno, and it was a little better. It was nothing special but at least it had a proper balance of salt and was edible. For 15 dollars, my wife got one medium and one small chili with small amount of cheese in them and about a tablespoon of fajita beef on the side (look at the picture I posted and see if you can find the beef on the plate). I believe that the refried beans came right out of a can, and the Spanish rice tasted to me as if it came out of a TV diner. When you go to a fancy restaurant and pay high prices, you should get quality food. Unfortunately, that is not the case at Picoso's. This is budget TV dinner cuisine at best. This restaurant deserves a real chef, if they are going to charge an average fifteen dollars a plate. The Bottom Line: This is a fancy, way overpriced, southwestern cuisine restaurant that serves low quality, over-salted food. You are paying for the décor and nothing else here. Our server was friendly, and she is the only reason I gave this place two stars instead of one.
Our meal took a very long time to come out. The chips for the salsa were stale they weren't crispy they were chewy. My plate sopapilla topped with beef and bean was cold the cheese was stuck to the plate there was a smudge of beans and about a teaspoon of beef. It didn't even come with any sides. My husband had the brisket crispy rellenos the meat was more like a beef roast and very dry the beans and rice were dry it didn't even look appetizing. We were very disappointed not to mention I felt sick to my stomach after not sure if something was bad or if it was from dissatisfaction.
We've been coming here for years, and it's been great. However, recently their to-go situation has become unreliable. We get more wrong orders than we get right ones. We've started ordering to-go less just because we're tired of having to deal with it.

One of the most terrible experience i’ve had. Photo of corn tortillas attached. Grease drenched and nasty. After sending tortillas back this is the picture of the order sent to correct the problem. The food was plain and the place was near empty. see picture. I struggled to find something to order that didn’t look like a “mush” meal. I requested the waitress show the grease soaked tortilla to her manager due to it being the tortillas received after sending the first ones back. Management didn’t come to our table which makes me think they know how bad it is and have simply given up or simply don’t care. This is supported by few replies to one star reviews. I know they are seen due to replies being made to the good reviews. Little to NO attempt to correct or show concern at all both in person and online. My first experience a year ago was equally as disappointing but wanted to give them another opportunity. I won’t be giving them a third. In a word “YUK”
Seems like canned hot sauce on the table for store bought chips and microwave queso. So craving for queso and was very disappointed. Tasted like microwave cheddar cheese that hardened really fast. Had fajitas and the tortillas were microwaved harden before you can finished your fajitas. The ambiance and decor was nice food was not close to great at all. Very disappointed in the foods.
Ordered chicken fajitas online to be ready at 5:15 pm. Picked up on time and drove home. About 8 blocks. Beans leaked all over the bag and got all over my seat. Took everything out of bag and there were no tortillas for my fajitas. Called and couldn’t get an answer. Had to call back 3 times and push number to make new order. Told the young lady about no tortillas and she said well if you live close you can come pick some up. Food was cold, chicken had great flavor. Hard to eat fajitas with no tortillas. Guacamole was brown and onion core was in the veggies. For 35.00 for 1 order of fajitas and a guacamole I would expect better.
Monday at 3pm. After we received the chips, salsa and queso I knew not to trust the cooks with anything challenging on the menu (Chips were stale, white queso tasted like velveda cheese, and the salsa was bland). So we got the enchiladas which is hard for even the worst Mexican restaurants to mess up, but they found a way. If you are born and raised in Lubbock then maybe this is acceptable for you. For those well traveled or with Hispanic wife’s, stay away. Don’t expect refills. #extra oil
Have never had a good experience with a large party. Waitress tonight was left all by herself..she did great. Bar service was awful...management clearly does not care. Will be hard to go back sorry to say.
New to the area and ordered doordash from here a couple of times. Tonight, I wanted to share it with my parents hoping they would love it too. The dasher only delivered 1/3 of the order. I called the restaurant to let them know and they said it was their mistake, they only handed the dasher half of the order. I then asked to come retrieve the other 2 entrees and chips and salsa to which they agreed. Upon arrival, I waited over 10 minutes for someone to even address me and the manager, Veronica brought me the same two entrees that sat in the warmer for over an hour. The taco salad and tacos were soggy and had BROWN lettuce. The food was disgusting. On top of this, she thought two free quesos on our next visit was sufficient. We won’t use them, because we won’t be back. I feel as though the restaurant had multiple chances to fix the problem THEY caused and they chose not to. Pathetic. And to add, mistakes happen. Very understandable, however, they could have chosen to make this right and still had us as customers. Instead, they guaranteed we’ll never be back. I’ll be sharing my experience with others and warning others as well. Shame on Picoso’s.
