Absolutely loved it! Cute vibes and great food (forgot to take a picture till halfway through… oops!). Sweet and spicy sesame wings are amazing - I definitely recommend and will be going back to the more on the menu!
The pretzels and queso, Mexican Egg rolls, chicken pot pie, short rib stroganoff, and the chocolate lava cake were all amazing! So yummy!! The cocktails were good too! I've been to Penn Street Kitchen twice, but I'd love to go back again to try even more of the delicious sounding dishes on the menu!
Penn Street Kitchen is an absolute standout. Ben, Chris, Veronica, and the entire team make you feel genuinely welcomed from the moment you walk in-warm, attentive service without ever feeling rushed. The happy hour menu is fantastic-great flavors, great value, and consistently delicious. It’s the kind of spot where you try one thing and immediately start planning what you’ll order next time. The atmosphere is incredible: stylishly decorated, with a cool, modern vibe. The music sets the tone without overwhelming the room, so you can still have a real conversation (a rare gift these days!). It’s energetic but still comfortable, making it perfect for a casual night out or a relaxed date night. Highly recommend Penn Street Kitchen—already can’t wait to go back.
Such a welcome addition to the area. Great service both times we've been and also enjoyed the atmosphere. Short rib stroganoff is amazing! I'd skip the wedge salad, which had far too much glaze from the pork belly bits for my taste, making it a bit sweet. Will surely become a staple we frequent!
I'm very excited to have you near! The food is delicious, I've been twice in the past month, I'm looking forward to coming back for happy hour and to maybe watch a game on your big screens!!
I saw this place is new and the menu sounded good. I unfortunately didn't realize breakfast ends at 11 but they do have a few breakfast items left on the lunch menu. The burrito and the salmon croquettes were amazing. There is a wedge salad I was tempted to get but my stomach wouldn't allow it. I saw the table next to me order it and it looked delicious. I heard multiple people saying how busy it got since they walked in, so this place will definitely be a go to as word gets out. There is construction so maybe its a little nosy on the patio during the day, but its worth it. Penelope was great and very attentive. I will be back to try breakfast.
Arrived too late for brunch/breakfast but enjoyed a turkey sandwich. Not many places add sprouts and that was the deciding factor. There's not so many options on the menu that a person is overwhelmed. This is a new restaurant in my neighborhood and I thought it was worth trying. Glad I did. I walked in and was impressed with the decor. Grays with a darker teal, and classy lighting. It's very inviting. As I was leaving, met the executive chef and told him we will return for breakfast tomorrow. 😁
A really beautiful restaurant with excellent service and food. The old fashion was tasty. The spare rib stroganoff, shrimp fried rice, and the peach salmon were all hits with our party. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts as well.
If you ever have someone to visit at Swedish or Craig Hospitals, this place is across the street with Valet Parking and definitely worth a visit! Great service, great menu, lovely atmosphere and gracious staff!
Really impressed. My food and service were great. I had the pretzels and queso and braised short rib stroganoff (to die for). I'll be back!
I have eaten here twice since moving to Colorado. The food was great with some unique and delicious offers on the menu. The staff were friendly and professional and as a former server I believe they did a fantastic job. I have not sampled any of their bar drinks but I plan to indulge the next time I visit for sure.
The restaurant is so cute and calm. the servers are literal sweethearts and the food is sooo good. the mocktails are also fantastic. we had a server named Penelope and she was the best!!
Visited today. Food was outstanding. Flavorful and well presented. Service was spectacular. Atmosphere was classy, yet comfortable. I will be spreading the word for sure!!! I got the Gyro and side salad. May seem traditional. However, it was and wasnt. The lamb was crispy on the edges, almost like bacon. Gave it great texture. I also had the Bloody Mary. Perfect amount of zest and spice and was a perfect start. I wish I would have browsed the menu more. But ill be back.
This was our first time and we went for brunch New Year's Day. The service was fabulous, Shannon, the general manager is just a doll. And Penelope, our waitress was phenomenal. highly recommend
My wife and I stopped in for lunch and honestly, this was the best meal we’ve had out in a long time. The dining space was beautiful from floor to ceiling, feeling classy, cohesive, and inviting. We were seated immediately and felt very welcomed. The music was the perfect volume and the server, Donovan, was incredibly kind and attentive. Once the food arrived (we got an awesome salad with julienned apples and chicken, delicious buffalo chicken wings, sweet potato wedges, coleslaw, an awesome mocktail with muddled mint and strawberries, and an iced caramel cold brew), our expectations were totally blown out of the water. Everything was prepared to perfection, was hot, full of flavor, and well seasoned. The chef knew exactly what they were doing. They had, unexpectedly, the best buffalo wings I’ve ever had—juicy and perfectly cooked. More flavor than heat, and you didn’t need to drown them in ranch. They were perfect! If I could give this place 10/5 stars I would! Thanks, Penn Street Kitchen! We will be back.
I had a great brunch here with my wife. You could tell that they put a lot of care into making the food, used fresh ingredients and good combinations of flavors. Decent number of vegetarian options as well.
This was my first time trying Penn Kitchen and I was very excited about it seeing as it’s right next to my work. I was not disappointed. The mushroom burger was phenomenal and our server Champagne was very friendly. Would definitely come again!
I came here for dinner with a friend and was absolutely blown away! From Shannon who greeted us to Shauna who was our server, and the meal items that followed, I was blown away! Great ambience, super friendly staff, and the best chicken pot pie I’ve ever had in my life! Then top that off with the apple crisp and a cup of coffee to end the meal, it was all perfection! I cannot wait to come back!
Thaddeus delivered the best Benedict I’ve ever tasted. Felt like a Michelin rated place. Everything was just delightful. The side potatoes were crunchy on the outside and almost creamy inside and the hollandaise sauce was just perfect.
This new place was great! Delicious food...great service and friendly atmosphere. Such a cool place. Price was just right! You have to check it out! Validated reciept for free parking next door.
Penn street kitchen was so great all around! We just moved into this neighborhood and it was such a great place to eat at. It’s so nice inside with a great aesthetic! We had Shauna as our server and she provided the best recommendations and was so sweet! We are excited to come back and try all the other yummy dishes and drinks here. Looking forward to being regulars 😊
After seeing an article in Westword about this place, then keeping an eye on online reviews, my wife and I decided it was time to try it out. We went for an early dinner on a Sat, with only a few other table occupied. Great variety menu, clean and crisp decor. I had the turkey burger and my wife had the fish and chips. Both were AWESOME! my turkey burger was so tasty and moist. I chose the sweet potato fries and my only complaint is that there were only about 6 sweet potato wedges. Fish and chips with regular fries was great, fish was nice and firm yet flaky and the batter was not mushy or overwhelming Drinks were great as well, my beer was ice cold and my wife's mixed drink was tasty. We plan on going back for sure, probably will try breakfast as well!
Great little gem by downtown Englewood. Stopped in for HH and really enjoyed the vibe. The service, HH food and deals were awesome. Will definitely be back!
Tess and her kitchen team came through for a last minute funeral gathering for 30 people. The Private room was the perfect space. The food was delicious and everyone loved their dish, from the NY strip steak to the fish and chips and even the green chili rellanos it was all tasty. Perfect portions and flavor. The restaurant’s atmosphere and color scheme were amazing. Thanks everyone for helping us make this gathering possible.
Great menu and our food was delicious! The service was really good and decor was very comfortable. Huge booths with nice cushion and large tables & upholstered chairs that looked really comfy.
Wonderful new restaurant with a classy but relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of cozy booths. Quiet background music. The menu offers something for everyone. The Jam burger is to die for. Florentine Piccata Pasta is a must. Oh and the Shrimp Fried Rice is excellent! You will never go back and eat PF Chang’s version again! Once the construction is finished nearby, this place is going to be packed so go now while you can get in without a reservation!!!
Great vibe, spacious, chris was a great bartender. Came in on new years day brunch and had a good time with good food. Will be back, and check out the website they have a "weekly happening" section. Thanks Shannon for saying hi and making me feel welcome.
Nice atmosphere and really good food in the heart of SOBO. We started off with a Pineapple Mule and a Strawberry Mule. Both were mixed perfectly and we weren't overpowered by vodka. 10/10 would order again. For our main, we had a Jam Burger with sweet potato wedges and a Chicken Pot Pie. The burger was quite good and a perfectly cooked "medium'. The jam juxtaposed with crispy bacon really sets this burger apart from the rest. The chicken pot pie was also very good and advertised by our waiter as a staff favorite; it didn't disappoint either. This deconstructed pot pie features a tasty gravy, crispy potato bits, a crispy golden puff pastry and grilled chicken in a well choreographed dance of flavor and texture. Both mains were excellent and would order them 100 times again. We did not try desserts this time but plan to on our next visit! P.S. The parking garage behind is $2.00/20 minutes so I'd advise parking street side.
Husband and I went here last night. We’ve seen good reviews and wanted to visit since it’s close to our place and we love local restaurants. Donivan was amazing! Very knowledgeable and his suggestions on wine paired perfectly with our appetizers and food! Very attentive. We Loved the decor and loved our overall experience. Food was fantastic. Amazing presentation and overall expertise was incredible. Free parking in their garage
This place is a quiet and comfortable spot to unwind during time at the hospital. The staff are friendly, proactive, and attentive, and the food quality is consistently great. I’ve stopped in for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner — always a good experience. I especially enjoyed the breakfast Benedict one morning and happy hour tacos on another visit. They also validate parking, which makes it extra convenient. Good people, great vibe, and a nice atmosphere to relax and recharge.
We ate there last evening. My husband had the chicken pot pie - which was deconstructed, so the sauce and veggies were on the bottom, the puff pastry next and the chicken strips were on top. He said it was very tasty. I had the fish tacos. While delicious, they had a real kick! For dessert, we shared the lava cake which came with vanilla ice cream. The molten part of the cake had a slight strawberry flavor. It was great! We really enjoyed our meal. Kelly was our server and she was attentive, there when we needed her and not when we didn't. We were seated by windows on 2 sides and we were afraid it would be cold but it wasn't. The restaurant decor is very pleasant, although the music could have been softer (which would have fit the style of the restaurant better) but that seems to be the modern way. They have an extensive bar. The restaurant is fairly new - everything seemed new, clean, spacious. We'll be back!!
You must come here for a visit! The atmosphere felt intimate, cozy and lovely! I brought a friend for her birthday and she said she felt transported immediately upon entering. We shared the pork belly wedge salad, she had the prime dip sandwich with sweet potato wedges, and I ordered the beef short rib stroganoff. We sampled each other's meals and our own were so delicious and inspired. The quality was amazing and cost well worth every bite, and our server Shaunna, a delight!!! This is my new go to, and I am planning my next visit, bringing another friend for her birthday. She will be impressed. They also have space for larger parties!
My friends and I randomly found Penn Street Kitchen after trying to figure out where to go for brunch following a 5k at Wash Park. We knew nothing about the restaurant, but the menu looked good. Long story short, we ended up staying for hours because the food and service were amazing. Everything that our server, Shaunna, recommended was fabulous. The breakfast potatoes were amazing and the recommended beverages were so tasty. The general manager, Shannon, was also so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be going back.
I have lived in Englewood my whole life and I had no idea this place was here. A friend told me about it and I am so grateful they did. The bartender who waited on us was so friendly and efficient and answered all of our questions about this new place. In addition, the food was phenomenal!! I ordered the pretzel bites and the prime dip which was the best I have ever had. I HIGHLY recommend this place and I cannot wait to return to try more food items.
Penn Street Kitchen is THE best! Every dish I’ve tried has been incredibly delicious, and their happy hour is unbeatable. The all-day brunch is a huge bonus and makes it the perfect spot any time of day. What really sets this place apart, though, is the management - they are so friendly, warm, and genuinely personable, which makes you feel like a valued guest every time you walk in. An amazing atmosphere, amazing food, and amazing people. Can’t recommend Penn Street Kitchen enough!
Good spot and atmosphere. Delicious chicken and waffles! This dish was a perfect balance between sweet and savory with a bourbon whiskey butter!?Amazing! Great tasting coffee.
Oh, my gosh! I loved my experience at Penn Street Kitchen! We had our holiday luncheon there and Ben and Dominic were Amazing! We had a little private room to the side of the entrance and it was set up beautifully! (Amber helped me secure the room and the menu and she was great to work with as well.) The appetizers were fantastic (we had the chips and guac with salsa, deviled eggs, and Mexican egg rolls - all were delicious)! We had 16 people and when the food came out, everyone's orders were perfect! The drinks were speedy as was the food. Dominic and his staff kept tabs on us throughout our meal. I highly recommend Penn Street Kitchen for your private gathering needs.
My son and I went there at brunch today and enjoyed the visit. The breakfast menu and the lunch menu I have many diverse choices. I got this kitchen sink it was very tasty hand filling. We were taken care of very well by a wonderful team they have on board. Chris was multitasking, managing the bar and being able to take great care of us and others. I would highly recommend this place for a wonderful visit in fantastic food.
I had to get a really unpleasant procedure at the center across the street. It was Christmas Eve and we went there for lunch afterwards, not expecting anything because, well, it was Christmas Eve. The waiter was really awesome and I wish I remembered his name. Both me and my partner are in the restaurant industry and know how hard the holidays can be for servers, especially on holidays. He really turned our day around. The food was really great, too! We had a cold brew, the deviled eggs, the French dip, the reuben, French fries, and a Caesar salad. Seriously, all SO delicious. The tiramisu cheesecake was unique but I wouldn't say it was bad by any means. Lastly, the decor was bold and fun, it was very clean, and would be a great place for a date or any special occasion. Thanks, Penn Street Kitchen!
This was my second visit to Penn Street Kitchen, and it was even better than the first! The service was impeccable—our server was friendly, efficient, and had great recommendations. I tried the Baja Fish Tacos this time, and they were absolutely delicious. Each taco had perfectly cooked fish with a sauce that had just the right amount of kick. They came with a side of homemade potato chips—an unexpected but perfect combo! We also started with the Mexican Egg Rolls, which were even tastier than on my first visit. They’ve officially become my new favorite appetizer. Penn Street Kitchen has definitely become one of my favorite restaurants. Highly recommend!
Super Delicious! You've got to try this place. We were hanging out in Englewood and stumbled across this place. Our table had the Brussels sprouts, Florentine pasta with chicken, short rib stroganoff, jam burger, and steak frites. Everything was amazing! Our foursome will be returning to try more menu items. I'm also excited to try out the breakfast menu. I highly recommend the Penn Street Kitchen.
The food here is very good. Our waiter was very attentive. However we had to send back 2 meals that were not made gluten free at our request. Kitchen staff needs more training about the importance of this, or the waiter needs to be more clear when writing down the order.
Love this place. I just wish they could get the lighting figured out. Every time I have been ( which is often for their amazing HH prices) the lighting is so low you have to use your phone to see the food. In the summer this may work, but in the fall/winter months it’s ridiculous.
I'm so split on this place. Our server Penelope was awesome. The atmosphere was great, but the food was not good at all. Two in our party added protein to our meals, and man...it was like leather. Ridiculously thin, terribly dry and flavorless. Come for the drinks and atmosphere though. Great place for happy hour or a first date...you know, if you don't eat.
The food was excellent, I would really love to give this place 5 stars but the service was not good at all. There were maybe 6 tables on a Sunday afternoon, not at all busy. After more than 5 minutes of sitting there, no one had stopped by so we asked the guy that delivered the food to the table next to us if he could send someone over. Meanwhile, the manager is sipping her coffee chatting away with a server and completely ignored us when we looked in her direction. When we finally got some water, it was pretty warm and there was little fuzz particles from a dishrag in all the cups. The appetizer we ordered came out with our entrees instead of before. After we ate, we sat for more than 5 minutes before we finally waved our server down to bring the check. I left full of delicious food but highly annoyed.
We went out for dinner at Penn Street Kitchen tonight. The food and environment were incredible! Our only issue was that our server, who we think was also the bartender, was not attentive. Even though the restaurant was fairly empty, he did not check in on us and we felt a little ignored. I do not usually complain, but at one point another employee noticed us looking around for our server and offered to help us out. Even when he was behind the bar, he was on his phone and did not notice us trying to get his attention. Again, I normally do not complain! The food and environment were phenomenal and the rest of the staff was great. We will definitely be back, and hopefully the issue will be resolved by then! I am only posting this in hopes to help improve a restaurant that I think has great potential!
Last night, I went to Penn Street Kitchen to celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent. Unfortunately, the service didn’t match the quality of the meal. Our server, who was also the bartender, seemed completely inattentive. I had to flag down the manager several times just to get basic service, and in the end, we had to walk up to the bar ourselves to ask for the check and pay — even though we were seated at a table. What made it more frustrating was seeing the bartender on his phone nearly every time I looked up. For such an anticipated celebration, it was disheartening to feel overlooked. Despite how good the food was, the lack of care and attention left a lasting impression. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
The worst service I have had in years. Our server gave us our drinks and we never saw him again. Mind you this was before food was served. No refills on water or any additional drinks. We had to wave down another server to get the check. Our appetizer plate sat on the table throughout lunch. Food was very good! Shame it wasn’t worth the $90 our lunch was.
Our second time here, we gave the server the coupon received in the mail. She picked it up with a condescending sniff. There were only a few other people in the restaurant, however our breakfast took quite a long time... Much longer than the first time we were there. My eggs Benedict were room temp and my smashed potatoes was blackened. My husbands breakfast burrito was crispy on the top with very little green chili... It cracked open when he tried to eat it. I guess using the coupon that they pay to send out is a BIG mistake. There are other places to have breakfast. No thanks.
Saw the good reviews and thought we would try the place. Nothing but disappointment. Ordered one appetizer and it took 45 minutes to get to our table. Our regular order took an hour. There were only three tables with people in the entire restaurant. Two out of the three orders came incomplete with What the menu said they would contain. The french fries were good, but had enough salt on them for three orders. I had the chicken Caesar salad, the chicken was old, dry, and cold. Definitely will not go back.
