What a quaint restaurant! Highly recommend for either a date night or family outing. Every dish was 10/10 so can’t go wrong with anything.
Date Night Review Firehouse Bistro, My wife and II have been going out on Wednesday night since we were married. It is our date night were we surprise each other by where we might be going or what we might be doing. At the top of our favorite things to do is dine out. Recently, we heard there was a new restaurant in Woodside called the Fire House Bistro Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a friendly polite receptionist that found our reservation and walked us to our table. We were promptly provided menus and water followed by our waiter. All were very polite. At first glance, the ambiance is a complete reflection of the town of Woodside. It is sophisticated with an equestrian flair from the marble top tables to the art on the walls. There was a short selection of wine by the glass from the California, France and Italy with a larger international selection by the bottle. There were enough choices for most diners Shortly after we ordered our wine, we were delivered an assortment of olives that were delicious. When our wine was delivered we ordered our meal of Duck breast for the lady and slow braised short ribs with creamy polenta, roasted romanesco, picked fresno & mushroom sofritto, truffle sauce for the gentleman and we decided to share a salad. Our discussion while drinking wine was about how spacious the tables were placed. Not crowded like most places so conversations from other tables were not distracting. We both felt comfortable and relaxed. After a short time, dinner was delivered. We were both impressed. The duck breast was deliciously presented and cooked to perfection. The short ribs were also presented on a bed of yellow potatoes with a delicate serving of Brussel sprouts on the side. Both were delicious! While priced 30% to 40% below a local 2 star Michelin restaurant, the food is on par with their food. To be sure of our assessment, we try to visit restaurants twice. The second time was as good or better than he first. An excellent mixed green salad and followed by pan seared Diver scallops and a smoked cauliflower puree, asparagus gremolata, lemon and sunflower seeds. The second dish was the petrale sole with frisẻe, potato purẻe, sauce grenobloise. Do not miss out on the lime Huckleberry tart for dessert – outstanding. This is a restaurant you will want to keep on your short list and return often. Being moderately priced we give them 4.5 forks out of 5 and look forward to our next visit.
My only question is why can't we have a place like this in Redwood City... Solid basics, yet everything elevated. The menu is smallish, but they have everything from oysters to stake. Highly recommend. The staff is very attentive and the kitchen turns out some great dishes.
Love the food, staff and ambiance. We had an intimate birthday dinner for two. Also able to hear the music and speak without yelling. Lovely.
Amazing place with amazing service and food. Didn't know what to expect from the bistro concept hidden somewhere in woodside but we were blown off our feet with the amazing dinner! I usually don't change my mind in restaurant when choosing something at home 😃 but the daily offer of petrale sole was amazing! I hesitated to order it for couple of days and how happy I was to wait for this place to have it! The staff is amazing, we liked the interaction with the waiters...made this place special. Really fingers crossed for all of you and thanks for amazing experience! 💙
A very good local restaurant. The taste of the dishes is perfect and the service excellent. Here the food is prepared with love and attention.
The ambiance and food were fantastic, eleganr, and over the top. The server was fantastic and very timely with serving. Fantastic place to go eat. Amazing
This was such a gem! Ambiance is great for a date night. The menu looked good and I wanted to try it all, but the belly can only hold so much! My friend and I started with the charcuterie platter then I had the Kurobuta pork chop and my friend at the filet mignon, both cooked to perfection! We did not get to try the desserts since we were so full, but we will keep coming back until I can try all the dishes. Wait staff was also very nice and courteous. I will be back to try the other dishes. So happy to find this place. They also have a small room in the back from parties of about 14 people, so you can book a small event.
Great ambiance, service and amazing food. Ordered the roasted brussel sprouts starter , filet mignon main and special of the day— lamb cutlets. All three were delicious. Friend paired the beef with Malbec wine- the latter was so- so. We were so stuffed that we skipped desserts.
My wife and I have dined here twice and the food was exceptional on both occasions. The restaurant is small but has a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. Cameron, our server, was excellent.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | A Delicious Escape at Firehouse Bistro Firehouse Bistro is a gem that blends French comfort food with the elegance of fresh, high-quality ingredients—and it absolutely delivers. I ordered the Kurobuta pork chop, and it was exceptional. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and cooked to perfection, it struck a beautiful balance between rustic heartiness and refined flavor. Every bite felt like it had been prepared with intention. The service was just as impressive. Our server was attentive, patient, and genuinely warm—no rushed orders or robotic exchanges here. It added a human touch that elevated the whole evening. The atmosphere? Cozy and inviting. Firehouse Bistro has that rare “happy place” vibe where you can relax, savor, and actually enjoy your time out. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Whether you're a foodie or just want a lovely night out, Firehouse Bistro is more than worth a visit. --- Be sure to make a reservation
Great food, great service and very quiet atmosphere. perfect
My daughter ordered the file mignon, very good in flavor and perfect cooking, I ordered the pork chops, they couldn't be more perfect, juicy, good marinade, I would definitely order them again, a round of applause for the chef and the grill manager . My husband is a fan of risotto so he ordered the risotto with seafood, the consistency of the seafood was perfect and the flavor was very good. Just the risotto itself was very simple. For dessert we ordered Apple Crisp and crème brûlèe, both very good. The waiter, Felipe, was very friendly. As it was the first time we went, he gave us a very good explanation of everything. The parking lot is very accessible, the place is small so it is good to make a reservation.
Dined at the Firehouse Bistro for the first time to celebrate my friend's birthday. Everything from the food to the service was excellent!!! Our server Cameron was great!!! We were given wine to share a celebratory toast. A creme brulee birthday dessert with a lit candle was given to my friend. The food was delicious. We had manila clams PEI mussels, seafood risotto and Chilean Sea bass. They were all amazing!!! I definitely want to come back.
Attentive and personalized service. The Caesar salad was a little fishy cause we forgot to say no anchovies. The salmon was tasty and fresh. It came with risotto which was delicious. Also had the scallops; the sizes were desirable. It came with the perfectly cooked polenta and asparagus. Had the chocolate cheesecake for dessert. It was light, too light.
Had a great meal there this evening with several friends. The food was excellent, We all enjoyed it. Cameron the manger is special. He really added so much to the experience., and provided great service.
This place is an absolute gem!!!! A must go to if you are in the area. The food is delicious, the atmosphere unbeatable, the manager a delight. It’s my favourite restaurant in the entire Bay Area! In fact. The atmosphere is so wonderful, it makes you forget you are in Silicon Valley. Best restaurant I’ve been to in a long time.
The place: A unique dining at this cozy restaurant. It’s a small quaint place with a fireplace with only 11 tables. We went on a Saturday around 7 PM and get lucky since everyone was at the Stanford vs. Cal Berkeley game so the place was empty. We sat right by the fireplace. The bar area is very cute and down to earth but fully stocked. Food: good with beautiful presentation. We started with the butter squash soup, flavorful and delicious. Then the Filet Mignon and Burger for dinner, both was good. It has a very good wine list, for us we saw the Rombauer, Frank family and Stag Leaf which totally among our favorite wines. Staff: Cameron was our waiter and he was friendly, professional and very attentive. Overall, if you’re looking for a quiet homey, cozy, unpretentious and reasonable this is the place for you. We will definitely return in the near future.
Very courteous. When my steak came out overdone, the waiter immediately offered to bring a new one, which came out perfectly. Additionally, he brought us crème brulée on the house. Overall, the food was excellent.
We loved this place: very cozy and cute. The service and food were great! Highly recommended for a romantic dinner as the place is not too big and the ambiance very nice with the fireplace and lovely music in the background.

Good food. Nice decor. Not family friendly at all. Very expensive.
Generous portions. Very well prepared food. And great service.
Food is very good but it is tough to find in the evening due to not street lights.
Delicious! Beautifully cooked medium raw lamb chops in a light au jus, with roasted vegetables. I thought for a minute I had received broccoli instead it was very nicely roasted purple cauliflower. I followed the main course with creme brulee and extpresso. Nothing spectacular, but still tasty. Service was wonderful! When I exasperately told my waiter that there was broccoli on my plate, he very comely explained there was no broccoli in the restaurant and that on my plate was cauliflower. I bit on the pricey side, but it was Delicious!

Walked in on a Saturday night and were able to be quickly seated. Tried their scallops and burger. Scallops were gently prepared accompanied by mashed potatoes and al dente vegetables. The burger was grilled as ordered and came a generous portion of french fries. They have a good selection of wines. I opted for their Pinot Grigio which was bright with hints of apple. Really enjoyed our experience here. We were lucky to be seated without a reservation. Will return.

Lovely service. Cool building. Meh food. Medium still moo for the burger.
Dish restaurant has been around for quite a long time. Unfortunately, when you walk in it seems dated and old. The good part is it's in a cool area and the food wasn't bad. The service was disjointed and it definitely needs a refresh. I went there when I couldn't get an OpenTable anywhere close by in less than an hour. I was with a group of three and we were able to walk in and get seated immediately. This might be a locals place. Definitely not a destination or date night. If you're in the area, I will repeat the food is decent but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there
friendly staff. slightly rustic setting. competent, but so-so food (e.g. bread was way too oily; gravy on the pork and chicken dishes seemed a bit too similar; slightly tough chicken; too much cinnamon on the apple tart) . ok wine by the glass.

Dinner was fine. Set price was $120 per person on Xmas Eve, not worth it. The brunette woman server/bartender was very rude and curt. Will probably go back unless I see that same woman server.
They cheat! Dont go there..
We mentioned it was a birthday event. They forgot to bring the 🎂 and 🕯. Food not great either. Heavy on 🧂 lastly it was half empty on a Friday evening ... so it is on the way out.
