The service was excellent from the first moment we stepped in. Very kind and attentive ! We got some amazing tasting sips, based on our preferences, we weren’t hungry but we still got some beet tostadas and cheese and both were delicious ! They have outdoor and indoor seating but I would definitely recommend you to go outside ! The weather wasn’t warm but it was worth it 😅
Really enjoyed my time here. The rose wine was so good and food even better. Love that my pups were more than welcomed. Will be going back. The staff is so friendly and helpful.
All the food they have here is so good!! The drinks and the cocktails are great! A relaxed vibe with live music and nice view of the vineyard. It's our little getaway... also if you're a revolving door customer like myself, you can get a discount on the wines if you reuse the bottles that you already purchased. What can beat that?!
This vineyard was our favorite stop on our trip to Monticello last weekend! 😍 We stopped by on a Friday afternoon with our dog, Sky and were greeted by a great atmosphere, the friendliest staff, and great drinks. I found Bashakill on social media before coming up and was so excited to visit, but pictures are almost not enough to show how beautiful it is! The pond, pavilion, and many available seating areas are beautiful and allowed our pup plenty of outdoor space to sit and sniff. The crowd and staff were lovely with our dog Sky and pointed her towards the doggy water fountain if she needed. We also loved our drinks! We tried their strawberry peach sangria, their Sunday white sangria, and a few different bottles as a table. Such a great experience, and we will be sure to visit again soon enough!
My wife and I went here for our monthly date day this month, and the whole experience was incredible from start to finish. The ride up from Brooklyn was beautiful, and the winery was easy to find even tucked away where it was. Once we got there, we were greeted with three free tastings each, led by a fantastic guide who took our tastes into consideration in crafting a flight matched to our unique pallettes. We settled on a bottle of our favorite to share there and two to take home, which all came in refillable bottles you can bring back and refill at a discount. We ordered food from the on-site kitchen, which was fresh and delicious, and found an open table to just enjoy the afternoon; the winery is queer-friendly and adults only, so the peace that comes from being a child-free establishment was greatly enjoyed. We got to keep our branded glasses, refilled our bottle, and headed home after a truly wonderful time. I highly, highly recommend this place.
What a beautiful and charming winery . The people who work there are so kind and welcoming . We enjoyed wonderful food, wine, beer and music. The winery is so picturesque and quaint. Totally felt like sitting in your nonno’s backyard ( upscale ). We had great music to enjoy . Dog friendly which was a plus for us. My brother has been going since it started but it was our first visit but def not our last . Take the trip! Cheers!
Great winery, free to get in. Started with a beer and white sangria. A little pricey. Then got 2 bottles of Rose which were delicious. They charge an upfront fee for the cups but when you return them, you get the money back. Great live music on a Sunday. Plenty of seating but we had to wait to get a seat in the shade, as it was very sunny and hot. Would definitely recommend and go back.
This place is stunningly beautiful! The lavender wine was delicious and so were the snacks we ordered. They have ice cream for kids and plenty of outdoor seating. I went with my sisters and their kids ages 3-14 and everyone really enjoyed the day. Park across the road and you will get one amazing view!
We visited Bashakill the Saturday before Labor Day and had a brilliant time. The weather was perfect, a band played music at 2pm, the staff couldn’t have been nicer, kids and dogs are welcome, and there are plenty of seating areas. We walked in and did a quick tasting before purchasing our wines (to take home). Inside there are different cheeses, spreads, meats, crackers for purchase. They supply the board and you can enjoy your cheese or charcuterie outside with your wine or cocktails. The cocktails were delicious and they use Prohibition Distillery spirits - so good! The bar is outside and they take a $2 deposit for glasses, which you can take home or return for your $2. A few things to note: there is a bathroom inside and two “outdoor” ones. We arrived at 12:30 and grabbed seats outside at 1pm. By 2:30 it was pretty busy, but we never waited more than a few minutes for the restroom or drinks. The outdoor food menu changes seasonally, and there are no single use plastic or paper products. Love that! Get ice cream. It’s ridiculously good and you must get a cone because no cups/spoons. Everything is organic and sourced locally. Bring your kids and/or dogs (leashed). I wish there were more places like this - it’s remarkable.
I have so many good things to say about this magical place. Samara and Paul are incredibly hospitable and accommodating hosts. Everything is absolutely fresh, delicious, and beautiful here. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you and your staff for everything!
Great little place with a small menu of food and specialty drinks as well as wine. Is a popular spot at times but has plenty of outside seating. The views are great, a perfect place to sit back with a nice drink, a snack, great views, and better conversation.
Great place, nice views, pet friendly, great staff, great wines, drinks and food. Nice little winery in the Hudson Valley that meets all expectations. This place is worth the whiskey 🥃
We made a last minute decision to try Bashakill Vineyards as the winery we planned on visiting in Milford was closed. It was well worth the extra drive. The setting is perfect, the owner and staff were all friendly and the wine was excellent. In our world of wine touring that meant a perfect trifecta! We look forward to a return trip when we have more time to enjoy the food and music along with the wine!

Amazing kid free environment. I don't often get time out but this is perfect.
I was there for the first time a few weeks ago. Saw Albi perform. Perfect day. Food and wine delicious. I’m looking forward to going back soon.
Finally made it up there as I heard they brew beer as well. We had a great time! Paul the owner was friendly - the staff was great. Enjoyed the beer and tasted some great wine. The grounds are beautiful and we really enjoyed the music. We will be back!
Been to Bashakill four of the last five years. The vibe is laid-back and friendly. The wines are very good and a tasting helps to pick a bottle or two. The live music is always great and never overbearing. A visit to this hidden gem is always a highlight of our trips to the area. I will really miss it this year but look forward to going back.
Amazing place. These guys know what they are doing. Great snacks. Amazing beverages not just wine. Come for 30 minutes you'll stay for 30 hours. Cozy, live music. Families welcome including the fur babies . Plenty of space. The only bad thing is you have to leave at some point lol. Do yourself a favor and go.
Nice quaint spot to enjoy a few glasses of wine and really amazing food. We tried the Lavender White and Tiger Lily rose. Both were really good and paired great with the pad Thai shrimp tacos and sushi tuna tacos.
I stopped here for my birthday on my way to a concert and I was amazed. The grounds are beautiful, the parking is ample, the wine is unbelievably delicious, and the souvenirs are gorgeous. This was an amazing experience with my family and I will definitely visit again soon.
Always a great place to hang! Good drinks and good food. And music to add to the mix.
Bashakill Vineyards is one of the greatest winery's in the area!🍷 Paul and Christine treat you like family and/or close friends.💜 It's always a good time! The place is very down to earth! Great spirits, great music, great events with local artists, great people, and great hosts and hostesses~✌️💞🎶🍷~
Amazing environment. Great food and wine. I couldn’t be happier with the experience!
Excellent wine and snacks. We chose the Chardonnay wine and Coyote Red. For snacks we had the truffle cheese tostadas, Camembert cheese and jam, Ahi tuna tacos. All excellent!!! Sorry no photos
Bought a bottle of Tiger Lily, excellent; the food, excellent. worth the hour and half drive from NJ. As a foot note the hills, the Boggs, the ambience a perfect 10. The only downside as Yogi Berra would say, "NO ONE GOES THERE NOWADAYS, IT'S TO CROWED"
Not a huge winery but a very cool place to hang out. The wine is far better than you would expect for such a small place and the food is really good, try one of the cheese platters. The place has a great vibe.
Beautiful atmosphere, amazing food, and a charming and intimate vibe!
The venue is beautiful you can bring your fur babies. They always have music. The wine is very good they also have beer and they have food available for purchase which is very good and reasonably priced
Drinks s great food very good. The outdoor sitting is heated and very nice. They have nice live music. A very nice war to spend an afternoon
Great wine, awesome prices, yummy food (get the tuna tacos!) and dog friendly. Really friendly staff as well and live music. Just go there!
The best spot in the Hudson Valley. My favorite place to be whenever I have a free weekend! Amazing wine and food. Music is top notch and ambiance is incredible. Love love love it!
We have been going there for years. My wife and I are not wine drinkers but we buy lots of wine as gifts. Friendly and helpful staff. Paul, the owner, opened up for my when I needed emergency bottles of wine for Christmas. Going there today.
The atmosphere was amazing the wine beer and food were absolutely on point .. we came with friends and sat at the upper deck with views of the mountains we all had a great day the staff topped it off as excellent overall highly recommend taking a trip up
This is a great place to hang out and kill a few hours. The sitework behind the tasting room is wonderful, with plenty of tables, chairs, lives music, delicious foods, a fountain, a wine cave, and lot of awesomeness.
Over the many years I've been going there this is always been a wonderful place, but during the pandemic while they were closed they really expanded and put some nice finishing touches to make it even better. I love what Paul and his entire staff have done.
Great atmosphere and very dog friendly! I'm so glad they have an adults only section!
Best place to be for fun and laughs. Great picturesque place to enjoy with your friends and your camera. Watching the eagles flying around is also very cool.
We recently spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon at Bashakill Vineyards, and it was the perfect getaway. Nestled in the heart of nature, the vineyard's scenic beauty is the first thing that captures you. The backdrop of lush greenery and the peaceful surroundings made it an ideal spot for a relaxing afternoon. What made the day even more special was how dog-friendly the vineyard is. Our yellow Labrador, Max, had a great time lounging in the outdoor seating area, where dogs are welcomed with open arms. It’s always a treat to find a place that accommodates our furry family members, and Bashakill Vineyards did it with style. Max had plenty of space to stretch out, and we never felt like we had to worry about him being in the way.
For seven years I’ve been saying I need to go to the vineyard. We planned it a few times but every time our plans failed through. Yesterday after our walks by the Bashakill trails, we picked up our bottle of wine! We ordered online, paid and picked the bottle in front of the gate. I love supporting local businesses, especially during this time, and this one is a keeper! I can’t wait when it opens again and Covid19 is no more so that I can enjoy the place fully, not just the wine.
The bottle growler refill is an amazing price for fresh wine. The staff are absolutely perfect and the friendliest. The property is amazing with a variety of seating options. Get here early because it's a REALLY popular place. Only great things in the future. Check the food menu before. You won't go wrong with the wine selection and the beer is always amazing local planes.
Bashakill Vineyards is everything you want in a winery—amazing wine, incredible food, a beautiful setting, and a team that makes you feel right at home. Throw in live music, and you’ve got the perfect spot to spend an afternoon. I was genuinely blown away by the wines here. Each one is packed with bold, distinctive flavors that show a real love for the land and a deep understanding of winemaking. Owner Paul Deninno has created something truly special in Wurtsboro. And the food? Easily the best I’ve ever had at a vineyard. A lot of wineries stick to basic cheese boards—sometimes not even good ones—but Bashakill takes it to a whole new level. Co-owner and chef Samara Ferris has put together an incredible menu that’s both creative and refined. From fresh burrata with cacao nibs to Indian pani puri bursting with vibrant masalas. The latter of which I ordered twice! If you’re anywhere near Wurtsboro, you need to check this place out. And if you weren’t planning to visit? Now you have a reason. Also, do yourself a favor and grab a bottle of Paul’s family’s organic cold-pressed olive oil from Puglia. I’ve been savoring every drop and already wish I’d bought more. Huge thanks to Paul and Samara for an unforgettable visit—I’ll definitely be back soon!
Delicious, reasonably priced wine-in refillable bottles. Beautiful property and delicious appetizers. One of our favorite summer stops.
Although I haven't been able to actually visit the vineyard because of an injury sustained while visiting the area, my cousin brought me a bottle of the red fox merlot. It's the best merlot I've ever had! Furthermore, after working with Paul via email, I was able to purchase and have shipped to me 6 bottles of the Merlot. Communication with Paul was easy, friendly, and swift. The order was placed and within 2 days was at my doorstep 112 miles away. These guys are simply the best, and I can't wait to actually get to visit the vineyard!
This place has it all. Great food great and innovative wine and a wonderful atmosphere. On top of that, when we there that had nice live music and it was a venue that truly catered to the entire family. They even made stripped down versions of the wonderful tacos for the kids who were not as adventurous. Paul, the owner, was super friendly and gladly shared his knowledge. It was a s close as you can get to a essentially attending a family barbecue. My only downside is that I don't live closer. Luckily, you can buy bottles to continue to enjoy the wine at home and I will definitely be back.
This is our favorite winery in the area. The wines are always superb. You can tell that the owners and management put a lot of effort into making sure this is a great stop for a relaxing afternoon. There has been live music every time we have come by, and I appreciate that they have beers on tap for those of us who would rather go for a pint. Make sure to spend some time at the wildlife refuge across the street to top off the perfect afternoon!
Came here on Halloween and it was so relaxing and fun. We got a bottle of the Coyote red to share which was a delicious dry red and then had about a million little plates from Blind Dog catering. From the local cheese to the special Apple and Brie, everything was super yummy. Finished off with the spiked hot cider and walked the grounds which are the most unique in the region. The whole vibe here from the friendly servers behind the bar to the scattered seating all around is perfect. A gem in the area!
Good wine selection. Welcoming atmosphere. I’m impressed the owners defend their business against unfair reviews that choose to ignore basic rules (Adults only and no outside alcohol). The owners depend on alcohol revenue to manage their overhead. Why would someone bring in outside alcohol? That’s not a customer.
We stopped in on Saturday for our first visit . . . wonderful experience!! Definitely will be coming back! The food was AWESOME!!
Can I please give this place a million stars review? I enjoyed the wine tasting, the food and beautiful views and I was already going to give them a 5 star but while looking through their last post on Facebook I was in shock. They did the sweetest and nicest thing I've ever seen any restaurant do they took time out off their busy day to share a recipe on Facebook with someone because the person is no longer close to the area. Most places would have plainly saif it's a secret recipe. love this vineyard.. amazing food and drinks.
When we arrived, very crowded but still space left in upper level to sip cocktails and wine while looking out over the beautifully painted Fall forests. We were met by owner Paul at the entrance. The ambience was fun abd friendly, as we exchanged light and fun conversations with other tables. There were single people, college students, local folks, older. The smell of wood burning against gge chilling air was so pleasant and made us happy. Later on we scored a front seat in front of the camp fire, that warmed us. Each visit to this area, we look toward this treat. A great, welcoming place where people might know your name.
For me this was in the middle of nowhere but the winery was a good experience. The view during peak season into fall would be amazing here. Great for small groups and the hospitality is great as well. We got to try all of them for tasting and they do more dry wines. They also serve food here and it was really amazing considering where you are in the region.
Excellent place to visit, the staff was very knowledgeable about their products. The service was great , along with the food. If you ever want to listen to a good band , you should definitely swing by. The exclusive wine list fits the ambiance with the sight of vineyards and amazing views of the mountains ⛰️ in the back drop.
Visited for the first time. Everything was awesome. Wine, food and ambiance were all amazing. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely return with some friends. Thanks for a good time. Pablo and Arlene.
This place is amazing! Tucked away on a back road away from it all with small town feels. There's fire pits, games, plenty of outdoor/indoor seating, live music, food (The tacos are incredible) and of course great wine. Honestly one of my favorite east coast vineyards. The owner and staff were all smiles and made you feel welcome. I'll definitely be back again and again. (As soon as COVID-19 allows...) Until then I would encourage everyone to try their contactless curbside wine pickup!
Great vineyard to visit. We went on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy around 2pm, with a live band. We had a group of 12. There was lawn space and we set up blankets in the picnic area. We were able to move to the umbrella covered tables around 3pm. They serve a 3 wine tasting for free. We tried a few different wines before settling in on a glass to enjoy with the views. They are serve non-alcoholic mocktails, peach ice teas and lemonade. There is a separate building to order food and ice cream.
We had an absolutely lovely visit on a beautiful Saturday afternoon! The wines were delicious. We particularly enjoyed the White Lotus wine, which had such a unique and delightful time. We also enjoyed the creative food menu and live music. The lovely outdoor space was just the cherry on top!
I couldn't do a weekend getaway in the Catskills and not visit a vineyard. So off to Google I went, and boom! I found Bashakill Vineyards. Bashakill Vineyards offers live music, wine, spirits (for my serious drinkers lol), and uses locally sourced food. Tips 1. Be prepared to park along the road. 2. Yes, dogs are allowed. 3. Try before you buy. They offer a wine tasting that includes four samples. 4. Check the hours ahead of time. 5. Get the crab burger! Happy drinking!
This is the kind of place that you find in your deams: an Eden, hidden away on an obscure road. But Bashakill Winery & Vineyards is no dream. Located adjacent to the Bashakill Wildlife Management area, a small cluster of buildings nestled into the hillside function as tasting rooms, patio bars, verandas and food court. You can choose from a varietry of Bashakill and other local wines & beers or indulge in a handcrafted cocktail. This place is kid friendly, dog friendly and the food is out of this world.
Really enjoyed our time here! Great inside and outdoor seating. Was November so chilly but had heaters and covered area, and besides wine keeps you warm. Appreciated the food hut that was on premise and MTO. Oh and of course enjoyed the selection of wines! Also had live music that evening which was a bonus for our experience.
Fantastic adult-only winery nestled in the bashakill wetlands area. 3 free tastings pp. $3 deposit for their glasses, which you get back if you don't want to keep it. Food available on site. Pricey, but decent. Great live music. Plenty of parking. Good vibes only.

This is a hidden gem across the street from the refuge. Definitely a great date idea to go paddle and then grab some drinks. The best wine was the red, black bear. They have a lot of unique white wines, beer and cocktails. You get to try three wines for free. There is a food stand there. The food was expensive and mediocre. People enjoyed the spicy Thai tacos. The ahi tuna tacos are not worth it. The dumplings are most likely from restaurant depot. The ice cream cookie sandwich is delicious.
Great place. Gets a bit too crowded for my taste, which causes long lines at the bar and even for the bathrooms. Dont expect to get great seats right away.
We stopped by with some friends for a late afternoon bite and drinks. There was some live music, it was relaxing and pleasant.
Great atmosphere and really nice people working there/running it! Awesome that you can try wine, and they also serve beer and cocktails. The tacos were really good too! The only thing keeping it from being 5⭐️ is that I wasn't crazy about the wines (but what do I know?). (Also my friend ordered shrimp but there was something off with them and she had to send them back.)

They do some interesting things here, mostly with hybrid grapes. It's in a unique location for a vineyard, and maintains a rustic decor, which is tasteful and natural feeling, really blends into the beautiful wildlife in the surroundings. My taste buds are mature enough that I enjoy drinking cold hearty hybrid varietals (Catawba is a winner here!) but they still offer standard vinifera wines, which are very well done (loved the half oaked Chardonnay).
Before I arrived, I checked the website. It is an adult only winery so I left my teenager at home. Upon arriving, the hostess was very kind and spent a few minutes with us to guide us because it was our first time there. When we walked out, I saw several kids, small kids. One crying and some playing. I was a bit surprised that people did not adhere to the winery policy. It was very difficult to find a place to sit to eat. Very crowded. We finally found a seat and ordered. The food was good but a bit sparse for the price. It is lovely and the wine and food delish. I think reservations may help with the over crowding and maybe a bit more food on your platter.
Beautiful Winery. Enjoyed the wine and a few cocktails. Excellent live music. The food was the only issue. We ordered a few things to share. The crab crostini was not edible. The tacos had sushi style tuna which we love but these tacos had a smell to the fish that should not have been there. Spring rolls were good but soggy. Cheese board was good too. We will definitely be back for wine. They should make some adjustments with food. This was our first visit in a few years and we had great food there in the past.

Place used to welcome children. They had food trucks on site with ice cream that was always a hit. Was a nice spot to hit a light trail and then kick back with a few. We had been at least 5 times. Went there recently and suddenly no kids??? Their change ruined any chance of us ever returning. It’s a real shame because the place used to have a nice vibe. But even the phrasing on their site puts me off. We are NOT kid friendly! ADULTS ONLY”. Come on guys, how about something a little less aggressive like “21+ only, sorry no kids”. Edit: Owner seems to be upset at the bad review, using SAT words, and claiming that it “wasn’t a food truck” (maybe it was a food shack… but it was two spots, one Mexicanish, the other with ice cream and basics). In any case, if you change your policy and don’t implement it with kindness or an explanation, this is what happens. They absolutely have every right to their policy, but It’s important that people know how anti-kid this place got, because as the owner admits.. they have a large outdoor space and ice cream. Not sure why you’d judge a parent for enjoying a small glass of wine after a trail hike, or why you’d lash out at an honest reviewer claiming they’re egocentric for pointing out they drove an hour for a nice hike only to find her child unwelcome.
We have been to this place many times and have brought friends with us as well. This time we went with our kids and the owner made us feel very unwelcome. He made it clear to us kids are not welcome. I would like to note that my kids are well behaved and were not causing any problems at all. The owner suggested the next time we go to his property, we should leave the kids with a babysitter— I was perplexed at the level of customer service by the owner.
Everything is overpriced and very low quality. Very disorganized service with complete disregard for overcrowding, took forever to get a drink, and when I did, I wish I hadn't as it was not good quality. Bathroom situation also pretty unclean. Definitely better options in the area, feel like I wasted time and money *** Edit after a strange response I saw how nasty things got with other reviewers that didn't have a good experience, but wow... I didn't expect an answer this extreme and dishonest. You did not run a credit card on me & you most certainly did not "run my IP address", that's literally not technologically possible. And if it were possible, you would have found out that I am not two people named Jeffrey & Dulce, but an actual whole other separate person who had a bad experience at your business. I suggest reconsidering your behavior if you want to retain customers
Horrible Update: I reviewed this business as horrible since i didn’t have a good experience at the place and I received the reply below. I did not comment on their instagram or sent any personal messages to them. Response from the owner an hour ago Margarita; we just received your anti-Arab message you sent to our Instagram following the current Israel-Hamas political struggle. We’re really saddened and hurt at your willingness to write to us a private message calling Palestinians “animals who deserve to die.” And we will NOT stand for your harassment or fake reviews.
This was one of our favourite places to go pre and post covid. The food the atmosphere and music were the perfect way to spend a Saturday with the stroller and dog in tow. Now we aren't allowed to bring kids anymore. Definitely a huge disappointment for us. I get that some kids are a pain but with the games and music it was easy to keep them quiet and entertained. Will not be coming back
It’s a good winery in several ways. The wine is high quality. The food + ambiance + music is always great. We’ve visited many times. The problem is that the owner has recently adopted an unwelcoming attitude towards families with children. Upon walking in, he immediately came up to us to warn us that kids need to stay next to parents at all times. When our kids stepped away to play ping pong, he again approached us immediately with something to say. When I later addressed how this made us feel, being initially told to "get a babysitter," he made it more or less clear that based on a couple negative experiences with children, they were actively discouraging parents with children from visiting the winery. While we understand the hardships, we nevertheless feel that this is the wrong mentality, and it is completely against the spirit of peace and love that the winery projects. As a family who has visited innumerable times since the winery was established (even including the prior weekend), were never told anything previously about the kids, and have never had a problem with managing our children, we are very disappointed to be treated this way. We will not be returning. *Update and response to owner's comment: Did the website always say that the vineyard was "Adults Only?" From our conversation, it sounded like this was a recent change in policy and thus a change to the website / social media. I'm not sure how many times I'm expected to review the sites of a business I visit regularly. Yes, you do have a right to change your business model - just like I have a right to post my displeasure with how you are operating your business. But beyond that, we personally felt that your way of communicating that change to us was disrespectful and inappropriate. You should have made the situation clear to us when we walked in with directness, compassion and humility, instead of making us feel unwelcome, embarrassing us in front of our guests, and forcing us to pull the truth out of you as we left. Your smug way of discussing it and your further responses make it seem like the success of your business has gone to your head. It's a shame. *Another very interesting update: It just so happens that I received a Google review personally at my place of business by someone named "Amelia Curie" that popped up within an hour of my initial response to the Bashakill owner's comment. "Amelia" told an outrageous story where I disrespected her for bringing children into a location where I work. It was written and structured in a way that was highly similar to my review of this winery. “Amelia” shows no record of being a client of my employer as she claimed, and I had even been away on vacation prior to her statement. She mentioned being a resident of north Jersey, but there's nothing online attesting to that, or attesting that she even exists at all. Her other reviews only provide negative feedback about businesses located close to the winery. She is a law professor in one review, a chef in another. I thought you all might find this as interesting as I did.
