I seen this restaurant today while driving past it. I decided to come back for lunch, and I'm glad I did. I got the ground sirloin taco in a crunchy shell. It tastes like a classic taco. I had a been and cheese taco in soft tortilla and it was good with jalapeño ranch on it. I also got the spicy shrimp taco, and it had me sweating, and it was good. My friend got beef and chicken street tacos, and he said they were really good. The refried beans were good, but the red rice was not the best.
We are visiting from Oklahoma and to try something different this definitely hit the spot. We had chicken and beef street tacos. They were very good and great meat flavor. It was hot and delicious food. We are going to try their breakfast burritos next time.
The staff & the food is excellent their customer service is top notch. They have great music it’s a very welcoming atmosphere the GM is super friendly & very accommodating. They are open breakfast lunch & dinner they do use food delivery services they do take phone orders I highly recommend this place they have 9 locations across dfw. The food is very fulfilling at a minimal cost
Great Tex Mex taco spot! They have the best Jalapeno Ranch in town. The Jalapeno Ranch is like what Chiloso's used to be
The staff was very friendly. Went at a quiet time and it was a peaceful atmosphere. Definitely recommend the taco salad with fish and shrimp. The shrimp and fish were perfectly seasoned and cooked.Their habanero ranch and jalapeno ranch were amazing. Will definitely be going back soon.
WOW! Today was my first time in this restaurant and I was thoroughly impressed with the welcome by the receptionist and cashier Joah (I’m sure spelled wrong). She went the extra mile to answer all my questions, offered great options and made sure I had plenty of limes for my tacos. That’s the only way to eat Mexican food you know. The brisket and shrimp tacos and the black beans were sabroso (very tasty). As my order was carry out, I loved the paper carton containers they use versus the cheap styrofoam. I left there happy and satisfied with the portions served me. I will be returning to this amazing little gem in Wylie.
Delicious! This place exceeded my expectations. Went with my family and had the chips and queso (thin, but quite tasty), and between the four of us we ordered 7 different varieties of taco. All were good. I had the spicy pork and the fajita beef. The beef was tender, flavorful, and cooked just how I like it, with a little pink in the middle of the meat. The atmosphere is fun with 70's album art working the walls, lights strung across the ceiling, and vibrant colors everywhere. Staff was friendly and the food came out pretty quick. There was no wait to order, and the tab including drinks and tip was about $15/person. Will definitely be back. Oh, and the jalapeno ranch! Spicy, but I loved it.
Delicious food. Great customer service ! And Margaritas were delicious. !!
First time there but we will def go back. The food was flavorful, and the portions were good. Chips & queso to start...yum. I got 3 soft tacos with ground beef and the wife got fish tacos I think. They have a few diff kinds of salsa so if you need that 🔥, they got it. Loved the interior design, very clean with pictures everywhere.
I can’t say enough good things about the Wylie Taco Joint! We have had food delivered from here by DoorDash & we have gone in to pick up an order for take out. Each time the order has been accurate and the food is DELICIOUS! This morning I went in to place a to go breakfast order and the employees were very courteous. The restaurant always looks clean too. I think this is our new taco place!!
This my first time eating here. I purchased a combo. It was good, I got a beef and chicken street taco. You'll have to ask for limes and my only complaint is that there was not enough cilantro. I have been back and tried there being a cheese burrito. It is quite a big burrito and I love their cheese and queso.
First visit today. A cheerful and helpful Manager helped us choose the perfect mid day lunch! Fresh and delicious tacos along with a very tasty chicken fajita salad with the best dressing around- jalepeno ranch! Don't leave without trying the margarita! Mix the delta force salsa with the regular salsa. 👌 Clean bathrooms too. Kudos to Shayla and her team Awesome first impression 😀
Our first visit! I ordered 2 street beef 🌮 taco's meat tasted so good - steak cubes and grilled onions with cilantro. Ranch sauce was delicious! My daughter ordered 3 street chicken Taco's 🌮 She said they were also delicious! Highly recommend! We are going to try breakfast burritos when we come back to Wylie!
I visited this location on 07/21. I already visited the location in Addison about a week ago and the consistency is exactly the same. I don’t think I’ve been to, two separate locations and had the same quality. This establishment has consistency! I had the, 3 ground sirloin beef soft tacos combo. It includes beans and rice and the 3 tacos, soft or crunchy, and a drink. They have beer on tap and some bottles but since I don’t drink I didn’t get any. I asked for double the rice and they accepted my request with no issues. The service was amazing here as well as the other location. I also ordered 6 additional soft tacos to go for my dad and grandmother and they both loved them too! The artwork in this place is awesome! The mini salsa bar they got is fantastic and tasty, and pairs well with the tacos!!!
This review is long overdue...We always come here for the breakfast Burritos, cannonballs, and churros. Everything is always delicious - my only hope is that they build a Taco Joint in Rockwall / Fate area... Restaurant is always extremely clean and the service is always phenomenal! This is just a great environment / experience...most importantly, get the Jalapeños Ranch sauce - It taste great on everything! Needless to say, we will always come back!
AMAZING STAFF. I met a coworker for breakfast and had the best experience. From the customer service to the atmosphere and food, they did not miss a beat. Their drink station was clean and stocked, restrooms spotless and front of house presentable. 10/10 i will eat here again.
A few years ago when Rusty Taco in Murphy went under I went into serious mourning (I know this sounds slightly dramatic, but it's not). My friends and I loved absolutely everything about that place, the food, the service, the atmosphere, and we haven't been able to find anything in the area to replicate it since. On a whim we decided to go to Taco Joint for lunch today to check it out. We were absolutely not disappointed! First of all they offer daily specials during the week which is a great way to try out new things on the menu. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when answering questions about their menu. I got the Friday lunch special which was spicy shrimp tacos, it included beans and rice as well as a drink. We also snagged chips and queso. All of the food was fresh and delicious, the fountain drinks and nugget ice were the cilantro on the proverbial taco. Love the atmosphere here, super laid back and a cool vintage vibe! We have absolutely found our new taco hang out!!!

The hangover plate hit the spot. No hangover required. 😁

I go here literally twice a week and I've become a total regular! I felt it was necessary at this point to write a review because while the food is amazing (especially the spicy fried chicken tacos, go get them), the management are some of the nicest people I've ever met. The environment is so pretty with records all of the walls and pictures of customers smiling with their families all over the walls. I study here any time I need to get something done and it hits every time. Favorite place ever.
We order through Door Dash. There is something for everyone. My hubby enjoys The Big Tex, I eat The Cannonball with grilled chicken, my grandson has The Crispy Taco, and my daughter enjoys the numerous spicy dishes.
I came to town for work. I was looking for something quick for lunch. I had no real expectations as tacos are tacos. I was absolutely wrong. The atmosphere was truly unique. The staff was super polite and the food truly took me by surprise. The flautas were cooked to perfection and the queso was so flavorful. I look forward to future trips here and trying other items on the menu.
Best Taco Joint in town. They are very accommodating. I have been going here for years and the food has always been fresh and delicious.

The Taco Joint is a quick, can Man place to grab a quick meal. The prices are reasonable and the menu offers a variety. There are usually daily specials. Their jalapeño ranch dip is delicious.
I got a two for one coupon in the ad pages so we decided to give this place a try. I got the combo plate with a fish taco and a brisket taco. Here is my honest opinion because that it's what you're looking for, right? I thought the fish taco was a bit too fishy. It wasn't too bad but I think the fish could have been cooked with more seasoning too overcome some of the fishiness. The brisket taco was also not too bad, however, what you're getting on the taco is a long piece of brisket which has not been sliced into smaller pieces, so every bite you take you're biting against the grain which makes it very stringy and chewy. The flavor was pretty good, but the meat needs to be chopped or something to avoid the stringiness. The jalapeno ranch was quite tasty and you can get all of it that you want. I'm sure I will go back to try some of the other dishes because much of it sounded very good.
I had a craving for a taco salad and this days it's hard to find one like they used to, and I get my days where I need good seasoned meat so this was perfect. I did pick up so not sure about the service for the 4stars. And the price 13.00 with tip. 👌
Great fast and typical convenience place if you want a quick bite with less hassle and decent quality. Pricing is not so bad for $10.99 tacos combos and etc.

Quick bite .. I get the taco Lester combo with grilled chicken and it's a double-decker it's taste pretty good I also get that with the chicken tortilla soup which is more like a chicken vegetable soup.. tasty quick cheap cool fill in the restaurant I love all the stuff to look at while I'm snacking
I tried it twice within 4 days and it was not at all like the original on Gaston. The brisket was bland and very wet, not juicy, wet. My sons are breakfast taco aficionados, they approve of them here. The churros were very good, but the Big B burritos were lackluster, even when I changed the meat to steak or ground sirloin, it just lacks flavor. The chips and queso were good though and so were the salsas, especially the XXX salsa. Overall, I’m not sure I’d try it again. I have another local favorite that is on the other side of Rockwall I’ll have to keep going to.
I've eaten here twice now. First time I got their breakfast burrito with bacon, egg, cheese and potatoes (I think). It was pretty good but the ratio of egg to other ingredients were not to be desired. My most recent visit today I got the bean and cheese burrito ($7.49). Taste of the food was good but man the portion was highly lacking. For that price it should not look like I ordered a kids meal bean and cheese burrito.
Let me be fair and start with the positives: very spacious with plenty of sitting available, very clean, has the 'new' smell, love the salsa bar, marinated beef tacos are flavorful, and the jalapeño ranch is delicious. The manager is very friendly. Let me share my opinion with areas for improvement: margarita drinks are $9.50 for 18 oz,... ouch! There's an opportunity to improve on their customer service. Several young adults working but not personable at all. Lack of consistency with picking up orders with dine-in. My name was called and I had to get up while others had order taken to their table. Tacos with corn tortillas, the tortilla was not warmed at all, so it fell apart when bitten 😞. Come support and have your own experience.
On their sign it has “simply awesome” but it was simply average. While looking over the menu I felt the staff was a little upset. I did like the fish taco - something I don’t normally get. Amount of meat on tacos was good. Would love to see Tacos al pastor on the menu. Thought prices were a little high. Avocado slice was brown. Soup and 4 tacos = $29
This is a hard review for me to write because I love supporting small business and understand reviews are important, however, I believe it's important to also be truthful. My hubby and I visited the Taco Joint this past weekend and had a great time while we were there. The food tasted great and the staff was also very friendly!! My hubby had tacos and I had the fish salad... Within a few hours of getting home I became very sick, and it became very evident as the day progressed that I had food poisoning. I hadn't eaten anything other than hard boiled eggs earlier that morning. I want to be optimistic and say it was something else, but that's very unlikely. I'm curious to see if anyone else reportes food poisoning? With a restaurant needing brand new, I understand these sorts of things can happen. So my hubby and I may be willing to try this place again, but it won't be for a while.
Very nice staff members and the restaurant was clean. The only thing was the food, it was not horrible but it didn't have taste. My husband got the enchiladas with green sauce, and the sauce had no taste, I did enjoy the refried beans. Over I would have to think about coming back.
Nice place, nice customer service, food came out fast, the taste was not expected. Tortilla soup was made with carrots, potatoes and zucchini and tasted no more then a vegetable soup. Brisket taco tasted sweet, not what was expected, needed salt, queso dip was delicious. This place want to be a tex-mex but it miss the mark on food taste . Don't get us wrong, we eat the food tasted ok but this is not like tex mex at all .
I expected a lot more from the placement and pricing for this place. We ordered Chips and queso Chips and delta force Nachos with beef Quesadilla with shrimp Crispy taco Beef street taco The chips are great texture and quantity but had no salt. The queso was velveeta and rotel. Nothing really ‘queso’ about it. My 5 year old put it away though. The delta force salsa was super bland. No salt or seasoning, just fire roasted tomatoes and a mild poblano pepper flavor. (Note: we could not find the sauce heat ranking anywhere on the website menu) The nachos were good. Fried corn tortillas, not the thin chips from the dips. Lots of toppings but the beef was a prepackaged, no flavor kind. No seasoning, no grilled flavors. The quesadilla was a rip off. The shrimp were precooked and dumped whole on the tortillas. No char on the tortilla and it was wet even with the toppings separated. The crispy taco was the best item. Stuffed full, fresh fried tortilla. The street taco was the same beef as the nachos so while it was full, it lacked a lot. In the end the value just wasn’t there. Edible but not return worthy.
Food was not all that great, because when you think of tacos you expect some fresh meats and tacos were unexciting. Salad had big chunk of cold chicken breast. Soup had V8 vegetable juice in it with big chunks of veggies and chicken. Queso was good tho.

I was hoping this was going to be good. Let me start with the positives. The queso picoso and guacamole were delicious. The staff was friendly and very attentive to the customers. My wife and daughter had the veggie burrito and liked it. Now the negatives the brisket tacos that the three of us had were terrible. The tacos are extremely greasy. They had lemons but no limes for the tacos. They are better cheaper options in Wylie. Tacos are over 3.50 per taco.
i was very excited to try somewhere new but was hesitant due to the high prices. i ordered the 2 taco plate. the tacos had NO taste. the lettuce did not help the lack of taste, it made it worse. tacos were horrible. and to charge that much for them is outrageous. the steak was unseasoned and not good. one piece had a long piece of gristle in it so i could not eat it. the rice and beans were okay. unfortunately i won’t be ordering from this place again

The new ownership messes up vegetarian orders. I was a regular earlier. Didn't think I'll go there again. New ownership or not, dinner's messed up when you get beef instead of beans. What use is contacting the restaurant when it's already closed.
Food is decent but service is terrible. Stay away from anything "beef fajita." Very stringy and lacking flavor. This is the second time they have forgot something/messed up our order. First time they forgot a salsa and chips. This time I found a LONG hair in my food and they forgot the drinks. I called to express my concerns and was hung up on immediately. Called back because I thought it was unintentional, and was hung up on again.
Food was terrible have no flavor. How was the brisket, wet and dry at the same time the grilled shrimp tacos are not even grilled they come smothered and a tomato sauce which doesn’t add to the flavor spicy pork tacos are so sweet. The seasoned potatoes are just diced potatoes deep fried with no seasoning super dry. The salsa bar was disrespectful. You cannot call that salsa. We’ll never come back again.
I have been to taco joint a couple of times and the quality of food and service totally depends upon the people working that day. Placed a togo order. They did not add any sauces to with order. When asked for sauce, she gave us one 1 oz container to go with 6 tacos. The chips were stale and seemed like they were from yesterday.
Lousy service and mediocre food. Plus they’re incredibly stingy with their ingredients and salsa. When we first got here, the cashier finished with the people in front of us, then walked off. We were literally right in front of him. He didn’t say “I’ll be right back,” or “excuse me a second,” he didn’t say a word and just walked off. We waited 2-3 minutes for him to finish doing whatever he was doing, and then he came back, right as my husband and I agreed this was BS and were about to walk out. We finally got our food and weren’t impressed. My nachos didn’t have much cheese or beans on them. My husband ordered the cheese enchilada platter, which he said was sweet tasting and not at all good. Plus they forgot to put the rice on his plate, and when he went back to get it, they were actually questioning him like he was trying to get some free rice or something, instead of just handing him the rice THEY forgot to put on the plate. And let’s talk about their ridiculously tiny salsa cups. They’re so freaking small you can’t put a chip in it. I had to pour the salsa on each individual chip. 🙄 Not to mention the salsas are incredibly weak - no flavor at all. I had to go ask for their “spicy” salsa, and was handed one tiny cup of their triple X salsa. While it was spicy-ish, I again had to pour it on each chip, which lasted only about 5-6 chips. We won’t be back.
We gave this place a try after reading a bunch of good reviews. I have no idea where all of these 5* reviews are coming from unless a lot of people have low standards for tacos. We eat tacos at least once or twice per week. The service was great, the restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was good. The food was bad. I had a brisket taco, fajita beef taco, and a fish taco. Wife had chalupa combo. Most of the food was all bland, especially the brisket since they forgot all of the toppings. I had meat and tortilla. The meat must have been sitting in the container, dry, for days as it tasted like nothing but the plastic/cardboard container and oddly had a sweetness to it and was very tough. Quite possibly the worst brisket taco I have ever had. The fish taco had some browning lettuce and some tomatoes and a strong fishy odor. The consistency was like ground turkey, it just crumbled as soon as I touched it. Hard pass. The fajita beef was actually better than I expected after the first two tacos but still bland. Rice was ok, lots of cumin. The beans were like modeling clay. My wife had the best item, 2 beef chalupas but they were actually tostadas so that was a surprise when we were expecting chalupas. I might go back to try the breakfast tacos but otherwise don't recommend. I took a couple pics but unfortunately not before eating. Pictured is the brisket taco, rice and beans, and chalupa.
