My hubby doesn’t get up early. So, we eat breakfast when others are having lunch. Kohn’s place has great breakfast choices no matter what time you’re in the mood. The staff ate super friendly, and even helped orient s couple of old tourist types. We visited both the Twentynine Palms and the Yucca Valley locutions. Twentynine Palms is more intimate, but the food was excellent at both. They know how yo cook hash-browns! Try the spinach and fete omelette. Perfection.

Great little food place in the middle of Yucca Valley. Nice and friendly wait staff. Food was not expensive. Plenty of food served on your plates. You will not leave hungry. Something for everyone. They do work with any dietary restrictions. Just let them know. No rush to leave the place. Take your time and enjoy your meal. Clean and cozy place.

Stopped because we were traveling through town and saw this cute diner and just had to stop. Wonderful decision as the staff was wonderfully friendly, food choices were quite varied and our breakfast/brunch was delicious. We also ordered takeout to eat later, that hit the spot for us as we traveled down the road.

Small diner feel. Food was done well and staff was friendly without being overbearing. My friend and I stopped here after being at Joshua Tree all morning and it hit the spot! Seasoning on onion rings was good and burgers were well made. Thousand island sauce is a nice touch. Zucchini fries were so good and a large portion, had to stop myself from eating all of them! Must stop here!!

Great place to get a burger and some food. The Fried zucchini is the best!!! Fresh and tasty not frozen like other places. The burgers are also very good. Always great customer service from Zach!! He always goes above and beyond to make sure the customers are taken care of. He’s always happy to help. Never give you attitude when you try to customize your burger. Five stars for John’s place and Zach!!!!

We are here twice in our two day visit to Joshua Tree National Park, and for good reason. Great food! Great service. If you're eating in, you seat yourself and the server comes to you. Air conditioning inside is cool and good, the seating is cute and old diner style which was neat to see. They also have very cute outdoor seating with vined trellises to make plenty of shade, and heaters for the winter. The food was really good and the portions were plenty and more. Reasonable prices as well. Staff was very friendly and the service was quick and we had no issues either time we went. 10/10

Stopped by here for a quick bite. We both got the $7.50 1/4 lb. hamburger special. It comes with fries and a drink. The burger is tasty, but full of lettuce and onion to take up space. Fries are good and plentiful. Iced tea was fresh. I think this was worth it for the money. They also have a 1/3 lb. burger combo for $9.50. I will try that next time. This place has been there for a long time. Staff was friendly and helpful. They have a nice little patio out front so you can eat with your pets. Don't let them on the astroturf though. I was warned. We will be back to try more items.

this place was GREAT. Burgers made of fresh ingredients and fresh ground meat. i had a perfectly cooked steak with perfect amount of salt and pepper. staff was very curtious.

A traditional country diner in downtown Yucca Valley. The menu is a bit smaller than I expected but they still have a lot of great options. You can order to go at the counter or sit down in one of the many booths inside or seating outside. Our server was very polite and fast, even though it took quite a bit for food to come out. They have a large parking lot right next to the restaurant so parking is plentiful and close. We ordered Pancakes & Eggs and both were good as expected. I wish the pancakes would have been a bit fluffier but the butter they used and the size of them made up for that a bit. Also their coffee is very good and I could have much more than I did. Overall a really solid breakfast option in Yucca Valley. I would recommend and would go back next time I am in town.

I like this food. Hearty servings and some good salsa. I've been here about 10 times over 8 years. Better food than many of the other places in Yucka. I've had burgers, steaks, burritos, sandwiches, and breakfasts and never disappointed. Although this last visit i ordered a medium rare steak but it was medium well. It is a typical burger stand with the same ambiance. It is not chic, hip or a facade but quite simply a burger stand with plenty of parking and some booths on the inside for seating and a couple tables outside. Alert: GMO FOOD SERVED HERE DON'T BRING YOUR SERVICE DOG. THEY WILL KICK YOU OUT. The first time we went here my friends had a small certified dog. Without asking if it was a service dog they told us we had to leave. So we went and sat outside (which we told them) and after 15 minutes in the cold wind without any artful showing up we left. Here we go.... second attempt a few weeks later: I ordered a veggie omelet. Asked to leave out the bell peppers and replace them with extra mushrooms. The waitress told me that there would be an extra charge (are these omelets pre-made). I asked why. She said because of the extra mushrooms. I mentioned that I didn't want the bell peppers. Wouldn't that be a fair trade? Last time I checked BP are more expensive than mushrooms. So I had to laugh when she insisted that I still would be charged extra for mushrooms. I felt like I was talking to a wall. Anyhow....I said... it's fine. Extra mushrooms, please. The result: veggie omelet with hardly any mushrooms at all. No spinach no nothing. Just a few onions 5 mushroom slices and cheese Oh and a few tomatoes. You can see in the pictures. I'm not making this up. The food was a bit bland and really nothing special. Prices are ok but I rather go elsewhere. 5 minutes after I had to use the bathroom and guess what happened there? Not sure if it's the cheap and poisonous seed oils being used or if there was some sort of bug in the food. Not sure. I didn't even try to explain to the waitress again about the mushrooms. I figured she would not understand anyway. Biscuits and gravy didn't seem like homemade. And if they were it was a very bland and bad version of homemade. Not sure if my standards are too high but I slowly starting to doubt my taste butts. Wish me luck, next time or I'll try a high standard kinda place. Update to management reply: Well, that's what you say in your reply about service dogs but it's far from true and illegal not letting customers inside. We weren't even given a chance to say that it was a service dog. Sadly, not even management understood that I wanted to substitute an item and not add. As mentioned above, I did not want to add just the mushrooms. I wanted to leave the Bell Peppers out. So it's a substitution, not an addition. And I completely understand the cost of products. Bell Peppers cost more than mushrooms. At least the one you were using. So therefore you still would have saved cost of making my meal. There was no need to increase cost. At least not at aaaaalllll the other places I go to. You are the only one that I know off. I did not try to get an addition for free. I tried to substitute. But again. I'm talking to a wall. If management does not understand such a simple task then I really can't be surprised that waitresses didn't get it either. Thank you for your reply but you misunderstood as well. Sometimes businesses just get too greedy.... the downfall of many. Just saying.

Edit: to the owner: thanks for your response????? When your staff *RUDE* TWICE --- You take responsibility and apologise. Its not ideal. But we try to be better if we know better. I never raised my voice and was too shocked to respond by yelling *back* -- that was HER. That wasnt polite by any means of the word. Your doubling down and changing the narrative doesnt make my perspective any better or garners you any sympathy --- this enables bad employee behaviour. She was rude. She yelled. My dad was there. It was humiliating. You could do better and not blame me for being in shock bc your staff doesnt know how to be "polite." Explain how you expect me to care about your perapective if youre not respectful to begin with???? 😂🙃🙃 ----- Cant say i would reccommend or go back to this place. I was yelled at twice by the same woman at the counter (50s, black hair) about my service animals *twice* before i could produce their cards --- i was too shocked ar how rude and abrupt this was... you have a patio... i passed 2 Yorkies outside... im sure they didn't have the same issue? --- didnt get the impression staff cared or wanted to make me feel welcome. I couldnt even place an order togo ... this is just the wrong way to treat any customer --- i lost any desire to eat here and my appetite within under a minute. I was literally next door at the gas station in line talking to people and the two people in line behind me looked at each other and said, "ive never had a good experience here" --- pretty telling. I am prone to seizures and have a service dog that senses them before they happen. I arrived at John’s place and tried to have dinner with my family, but they told me pets aren’t allowed in the establishment. I explained that I must have my service dog with me and even offered to show them the legal documents, but they declined and were quite rude about it. After this incident, we decided to order online. I got the steak and ribs, and they were very dry and bland. We also ordered a French dip, and it had barely anything in it—basically just bread. The country fried steak was also bland and cold. I would not recommend this place unless you’re looking to have your day ruined. Edit-You seem to have got me mixed up my dog is not a emotional support dog nor did my family mention that. It seems this may happen often.

the staff was VERY rude and way too flirty with my boyfriend the waiter kept trying to touch my boyfriend and food was so bad and they took so forever 30+ minutes to make some chicken strips and then they told me they gave my plate to someone else and had to remake it like huhh! i would not recommend coming here for some very over priced BLAND food! also the restaurant had a weird smell too it that was giving me a headache

I never leave reviews but am because the service was horrendous. I ordered a pick up drove to get it got it all the way home and was missing a meal. I tried to call to ensure it would be ready when I went back to pick it up thinking maybe they forgot to put it in my bag..that’s okay. But Nope. They kept me on hold until I walked in so I hung up and told them I was missing a meal and they hadn’t even made it. So then I stand there for 30 mins while they make it and meanwhile the rest of my food is at home getting cold! Then I finally get my tuna melt 30 minutes later and they hand it to me with not even the decency to apologize or anything! WILL NEVER GO OR RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN! No common courtesy whatsoever.

We ordered a French dip for pickup. Got home and the sandwich only had 1/2 the meat in it so basically there was mostly bread to dip. Called and we were welcomed to return it fior a new one but we were already home and inconvenient to return. So we basically paid for bread and an apology. Dont assume your order will be correct. Always check it before leaving. This is something we never had to do before. Orders used to be right and the food used to be worth the price.
