Every time I head up into the high desert, stopping at the Joshua Tree Saloon is non-negotiable. From the moment you walk in the door you get that relaxed desert-town vibe mixed with reliably good food and drinks. I love that I can pull up outside the park at 61835 29 Palms Hwy and know I’m going to get something solid. The burger list alone is worth the stop — their half-pound patties with names like the Ghost Pepper Burger (bacon, ghost pepper cheese, chili verde sauce) and the Saloon Original Patty Melt (Swiss cheese, grilled onions, Russian dressing on sourdough) are the kind of indulgences you’ve earned after hiking or driving all day. On the lighter side the grilled portobello burger and black bean quesadilla show they haven’t forgotten the non-meat folk. They’ve got 14 beers on draft and are “home of our famous homemade Bloody Mary mix” which sets the tone right for any desert afternoon or evening. The cocktail list doesn’t disappoint either: things like the Mexican Mule, JT Dark & Stormy, Cactus Cadillac — fun, strong, and desert-appropriate. The staff always greet you with a smile, the folks playing pool or relaxing outside on the patio make it feel like a local spot not just a tourist stop, and the mix of indoor bar and outdoor seating means you’ve got options whether you’re coming in for a late drink or dinner after a long hike. Heads up though: when the place gets crowded the food wait can stretch out — I’ve had to kill time with a draft and some people watching while waiting for the burgers to land. But for me, that’s part of the charm: you’re in the desert, you’ve earned the pause. Five stars all the way.

Went with my family for dinner and we all had a great experience. Hostess was great and got us seated immediately and our waitress was straight over to offer drinks as soon as we were seated. Food was very tasty all around. Biggest surprise was the price which I thought was very reasonable.

Great vibe, right next to Joshua tree national park … packed on a Sunday night. Bartenders super friendly . Wanted to stay for hours. Had the chiplote burger was was super juicy . Want to come eat here all the time.

Atmosphere is very cool! A lot of decor and vibe def worth to take a look! Many seats even a large outdoor seating too Many people even in weekday night but no line A lot of server and all helpful and friendly Ribs is better than i though Salad big and cute And gotta said area like this have a nice restaurant open til 11pm is the best!

So close to Camp Sunburst a super amazing Dog Friendly AirBnB, the National Park entrance, and the downtown JT area. I had the bison burger with skinny fries. It was absolutely the most amazing burger I’ve had in a long time. My friend had the steak salad. It was huge definitely something we could’ve shared, but I didn’t want the help your option. The service is great. The weight is sometimes a little longer than usualbut the quality of food makes it all worth it.

Had a really great experience at the joshua tree saloon. The exterior and interior design of the saloon were fantastic and made you feel like you were in a real saloon. The food was well above average. The fries were cooked to perfection and the burger was juicy and really well made. The meat was cooked medium-medium rare. The prices were also very acceptable with the exception of the sodas which were slightly more expensive. The only negative thing that I can say is that we had to wait quite a time for our food. Not extraordinarily long but for american standards still longer than other chains. But if you are there you probably have a lot of time and it is a nice break. I would definitely recommend coming here.

Nice place to hang out great selection of food and amazingly good service. It was pretty crowded on a Friday afternoon. The seating area inside and out dogs are allowed outside. I had the steak salad, which was really good, especially with the assortment of greens. And yes, they have non-alcoholic beer Heineken.

Really special place. Beautiful and fun decor inside and out. Great food. Amazing variety of drinks and special brews. Easy parking. Swag is available for purchase. Music be outside sometimes. Excellent place for a group gathering after a hike, or just for a great time. Must be over 21 years of age to go inside.* (double check for exceptions). Entrance is way in the back most of the time. Mix gender bathrooms. Bar seating, table seating, and booth seating. Enjoy!!!!!

Such a great spot. We were walking distance and had a delicious dinner. We both had vegetarian burgers but were torn between those and the taco options. Several beers available. Staff were super friendly and the lady looking after us was very attentive. The bar was lively without being noisy and gave us a great flavor of the area. 🍔🍻

🌟✨ This weekend, my best friend and I decided to check out Joshua Tree Salon, and we had a wonderful experience! We both opted for the fish and chips, which were delicious, though I found the crust to be a tad thick for my taste. What truly stood out, however, was the vibrant atmosphere! The place was alive with a fantastic DJ whose tunes really set the mood. It’s the perfect spot to grab a bike, enjoy a refreshing drink, and unwind with friends and family in a beautiful setting. Overall, it’s a great destination for a fun outing, and I can’t wait to return! 🍽️

Stopped in here after going to the park and it was pretty crowded. Took a while to get a seat and service was slow but the food was good. They had live music outside which was nice. The bathroom situation is an interesting one, there’s a men’s bathroom but not a woman’s bathroom. Instead, it was a gender-less bathroom? There was long line of ladies trying to use the restroom. Not sure why both weren’t just gender-less in that case. All in all though, was a cool place.

I would totally give this place five stars had the wait not been so long between getting a table and then getting our food🫠🫠🫠 My friends and I put our name down at 6:21pm (happy hour had ended at 6pm so that could be why it was packed on a Friday night) for a table, we got called in after 7pm, our food arrived close to 7:30pm, and we ate and left a little after 8pm We were told that the wait between being seated and getting our food would be about 45 minutes but when you're hungry and ready to eat, that's a long time ⌛️ Still, we loved the atmosphere and look of the saloon The staff was extremely friendly and the food was very good 👍🏾 Our drinks 🍸 were well-made and we would definitely come back 😊

We found this place as we were driving by so we stopped to check it out. The food was really fantastic. We got boneless wings with jack Daniel's sauce and then ribs, burger and the BLT. Great saloons. Allows kids and has live music depending on the day. Has dining area as well. Only downside is the restroom. They are very small, only a 2 person restroom both women and men, so very long lines for the women

Inside dining is seated too tightly. No elbow room unless you wait for a booth and it takes forever to get one, even when it's not that busy. Outside dining is very roomy but the menu is limited to drinks & appetizers. Once you're seated the service is great! The food is tasty and the drinks are good! They have a large variety of beer on tap and extensive menu. The atmosphere is rustic western with a huge bar and billiards. It is near the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park and there are some unique souvenir shops within walking distance. There are not many restaurants in the area so overall I would recommend this establishment after a long day of hiking in the park.

So, parking is available in the lot, but the signs confused a few of us enough to park on the street. The maze we had to get through, to get into this place was ridiculous-especially with older patrons and the extreme heat, wind, and dust. Once we made it in, it's cute. Overall TERRIBLE experience. Former server of many years here. Our group of 6 was hungry when we arrived and had to wait for a table. Fine, no problem. Waitress came rather quickly and we were ready to order everything. 1 app of chips and guac, 2 burgers, 3 pulled pork sandwiches and ribs. Drinks and the chips and guac came rather quickly. After that, crickets. Never saw our waitress again. After we had been there for 65 minutes and after trying to find someone for 10 of those minutes who would even notice we were looking around for someone to help us, a nice (different) waitress finally spoke to us. We asked her to please check on our order as it had been quite a while. She said "Oh, they should have told you when they sat you, food is taking about 45 minutes." We said, "We put in our order over an hour ago," so she went to check. Came back and told us they hadn't even fired our food yet (again - ribs and pulled pork are already 90% done before the order even goes in so really they only had to cook 2 burgers) and would find a manager. After another 5 minutes, a manager came to our table. We told him we noticed 3 tables had been sat, got their food, ate, paid and left since we ordered. Being former servers, we were very polite but he kind of blew us off anyway and went to "check with the kitchen" again. Came back with some chips and salsa and said our food was in process. We said no thank you, we weren't interested and would not wait any longer, we were done. He then graciously (*sarcasm*) "fully comped" THE FOOD WE HAD NEVER RECEIVED. BUT THEN, he charged us FULL price for our drinks and the chips and guac. Didn't listen to anything we had to say, was very dismissive, bordering on rude, and needs to learn the definition of "comp" and a refresher on Customer Service. Would never recommend.
