The best burritos ever!! I'm not even usually a burrito person but these burritos are freaking amazing! My fiance loves the shredded beef tacos but I honestly think anything would be fantastic here.
Best Burrito in Portland. Their salsa verde is the best I’ve ever had.
So nice people they have heaters the food is like the best Mexican food so delicious
Three tacos. Asada, chicken, and spicy pork. That’s it. That’s the review. Fine. I’ll elaborate. All the meats were solid. Nothing over the top, just chill, flavorful goodness that hits right without trying too hard. You eat one, think “nice,” and by the third you’re already planning your next visit. The chipotle sauce was great. The green salsa had good flavor, no heat. The red had heat, not much flavor. Together, they get the job done. La Morenita doesn’t need to show off. It’s just quietly doing everything right. Give it a shot!
A little piece of flavor from home, carnitas or “fried pork” taco really took me back home, hard to find a good taco so far away from Mexico. Chef is definitely cooking with heart, you can taste it on how juicy and tasty that taco was.
This is the most delicious Mexican food. I think a lot of people end up visiting because the line is too long at what used to be Fried Egg and is now Matt's Tacos (both very good) but this food cart deserves it's own trip. I cannot stay away from the Chorizo Breakfast Burrito (with pinto beans). It is so yummy! The green and red salsas are both delicious. Red very spicy, so a little goes a long way. Worth a morning trip - sometimes they don't open right at 9:30am, so don't give up if they are about 15 minutes late to open.
You can stop looking. This is the best burrito spot in town. I recommend the Morenita burrito (steak and chile relleno), their carne asada tacos, and breakfast burritos. You can even call ahead if you’re ordering for a small group. The burritos are very big and do not have rice in them, so for me a burrito usually lasts me nearly 2 meals. All orders come with free corn chips and the people who run the cart are really lovely and accommodating of custom burritos. 🌯🌯🌯🌯🌯 5 stars/burritos Note: the hours have changed a touch because of COVID, they close a little earlier on Saturday’s (normally 7pm). Google hours seem to match. When in doubt, call ahead.
Very clean. The staff very friendly and the food is delicious. Prices are a little bit higher than other restaurants or taco trucks, not big deal to me. I guess the only thing that some people won't like is the fact that this place doesn't have enough seats for big crowds. It only has 2 tables and 4 benches, so only 2 people can sit per bench. You can take out your food and the problem is solve. I recommend this place.
This place is amazing! Fast service and the best Mexican food in Portland. We come here once or twice a week because it is so delicious. The owner is very nice and always greets you with a big smile on his face! You must try if your on this side of Portland! P.s. try the chorizo!
Machaca and Egg Burrito was huge and tasty. Loved the green sauce. Finished every drop of it! (Red sauce was too hot for me but maybe good for you.) Could use more drink options; they had a lot of different canned soda, bottle water, orange juice and horchata. Service was friendly and fast! Atmosphere was okay. First table we sat at had water on it, likely from an early morning rain coming sideways a bit.
Service was great, wanted to try this place bc so many people say the burritos are fire! I got the Morenita burrito, mine had relleno, beef, lettuce, tomato, onion and beans - was pretty good. I loved the Chile relleno bc that’s one a my faves. But I would say that their TACOS are what are the best. Carnitas to be exact.. I got carnitas taco and it was amazing! My partner got shredded beef burrito, but he also agrees tacos are the best. Great place for tacos get ittt yummy chips and yummy pickled veggies And the red salsa is HOT AND DELICIOUS green is mild Still on the lookout for my FAVORITE burrito In portland :) it’s a fun adventure
I've been here a couple times. I think it's good. I read in a review that they make their own tortillas but I saw The Cook pull my tortilla out of a plastic bag and it didn't appear to be homemade. I have this idea that the food carts should be around 20 to 30% cheaper because they don't provide indoor dining. That rarely seems to be the case in my experience. I think my burrito was maybe a dollar or $1.50 cheaper than I would pay at a restaurant. They have a small scene area that is covered. It's okay. Hawthorne can be quite noisy so not the place to go if you're looking for a little quiet.
The chicken taco was good, wasn't my fav take on mexican food, the meat didn't seem seasoned enough and the avacdo sauce seemed kind of bland for what I'm used to. Overall was a great experience. The lady was very kind and hospitable, but the mexican food was a basic style for people who don't like any spice at all. I'll prob come back since it's close by, location is ok just so close to the street but a nice small sitting area.
Nice that they have covered outdoor seating for a a food truck! I ordered the steak nachos. On the menu they advertise with guacamole… it’s in fact a guacamole sauce which was disappointing and deceiving. Nachos were decent my friend ordered the mole which I was not a fan of nor was she. No specific criticism just not great flavor. Overall decent place if you’re in the area and need something quick or want to eat outside. Lots of great restaurants in the area though.
Some of the most bland Mexican I have ever had. Not worth the cost.
