Service was on point. I had the souther hot mess burger with house chips and it was great. The stuffed avacado with chicken salad was fresh, flavorful, and filling. The staff were all very polite and wore cute matching day dresses. It wasn’t very expensive for experience.
Cypress Street Station Cafe in Abilene is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort. The menu offers delicious, high-quality dishes, and the service is always friendly and attentive. Whether you're stopping in for lunch, dinner, or just drinks, this place never disappoints. A true gem in the heart of Abilene!
The lunch atmosphere is slightly more laid back. Mixed drinks are amazing, I've never been let down yet. French martini and Hurricane drinks are both my top two. They inspired me to try to make them at home. They have not made a single bad dish in my personal opinion. Lunch service was fast and delicious. I will come back as many times as my bank will allow me. Please come to this restaurant if you have not. Don't miss out. You can taste the passion.
Excellent food and warm, attentive service made our meal here memorable. We had a large party, and everyone's food looked great. I had the Tuscan Chicken, which was excellent. Also highly recommend the Sparkling Sun Kissed cocktail. We had several appetizers that were also very good. We'll definitely be back if we're in Abilene again!
The hostess and server were awesome!! One of our party began having a diabetic issue. They quickly got us to a table and brought crackers and water, checked with us frequently and were most friendly. The food was very good. We recommend the Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich on Brioche. The chicken was tender and juicy, the cheese had a nice tang but ham was abut lacking. Only one half of the sandwich had ham-two small chunks. To us, sliced ham would have been preferable. The french fries were undercooked but, as soon as we told the server, she quickly brought us fries which were properly cooked. Very impressed with the service. The cafe has cute decor and plenty of seating. This cafe is conveniently located near several Abilene attractions.
Bartender, Server and Manager were all great. Manager pitches in for good example of excellent service. Food was perfect. Manhattan Up & Old Fashioned was soooo smooth. Food was exceptional and the Manager was definitely motivating the team. Good restaurants have great teams that compliment each other. We're from Alaska & Northern Arizona and really appreciate a great dining experience.
The food was really good here. I had the pork chop and it was cooked perfectly. Staff was nice also nice. We sat in the bar and it was pretty bright in there so that's our only tid bit of advice.
We stopped in on our way through town & we loved it! The food, service & drinks were all top notch! The owner took the time to talk to us about the food and the whiskies. We’ll definitely be back when we’re in town.
I had the pecan crusted salmon and it was excellent.
Went during lunch for the first time and it was fabulous. The lunch menu was creative and delicious. I had a Caesar salad with steak in it and loved it.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and phenomenal staff. We saw it was listed as pet friendly, so we went since we had our dog with us. They brought a little dish and some fresh water for our dog before they even brought us water. They have a nice, cozy little patio to eat on if you have a pet. The food was great. The fish and chips was easily 10/10 and their wild berry cheesecake was easily some of the best cheesecake I'd ever had. Overall, easily 5/5 stars. I will be back!
Went here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch with my family. We were in and out super quick, the staff was attentive, polite and professional. The food was excellent. It's a simple menu, but they offer is very good. I would have liked a steak option, but am not complaining. We will be regulars.
This place is by far the best restaurant in Abilene. We just dropped in for a late lunch, and we were extremely impressed. Definitely looking forward to checking out the dinner menu
Lovely little restaurant in downtown area with great drinks fabulous food. The staff were warm and friendly like you’ve been here a million times. A must if your visiting the area!
Lovely experience. Can't wait to try dinner.
Came here on a date night and had a fantastic experience. Kirsten at the bar was wonderful... I had a strange request for a cocktail and she absolutely aced it. We had dinner at a table and Kaitlyn's service was some of the best I can recall in a long time. She made the experience sublime. Food was delicious and the Calamari gets a high recommend.
It was a very classy, very nice place, with just as nice food! I cannot recommend eating here enough!
Cypress Street Station is a fantastic spot with a diverse menu, including delicious vegan options. The owners have created a welcoming atmosphere, and the bartenders provide excellent service. The vegan food they offer is crafted with care, catering to a variety of tastes. It's a great place for both beer enthusiasts and those seeking tasty plant-based options.
Everyone once in a while I eat something & say “how have I not known about this?” I found myself saying that yesterday at Cypress st station. I had the KITCHEN SINK STEAK CAESAR for lunch. It was fantastic. The staff was great, service was on point. Definitely returning.
Exquisite meal choices, courteous and professional wait staff, beautiful decor. Thank you to everyone who made our experience wonderful - Amanda for chatting with us about the history of the building, Zane for serving us, and Amethyst for chatting with us, too. You all helped to make our visit memorable!
An incredible dining experience! The lively atmosphere, combined with their warm and welcoming hospitality, made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious, with creative dishes that go beyond your typical pub fare. It’s the perfect spot for a fun night out, whether you're catching a game with friends or just enjoying the unique charm of this gem downtown. Can’t wait to go back!
The location is under construction, but it's worth the effort to walk the construction maze. My girlfriend had a wrap and I had a salad. The food was delicious and filling. I also like the location once the renovations on the street are done. If you are looking for a new place to have lunch or take a date check it out. Btw, Cason was our waiter, he's top-notch!
The food at Cypress Street Station was wonderful. It felt fancy without the fancy prices. I spent less for a meal and dessert than I would have spent at a fast food chain, and the food was indescribably better. I had Bayou Chicken Florentino. It's pasta with a Cajun kick. It was perfect. Not too saucy and not too heavy. Treat yourself to Cypress Street Station if you are in our around Abilene.
Was in Abilene for work, came here every day for five days for lunch. The staff is friendly. After our second visit, they knew who we were, which was nice. The atmosphere is excellent, and the food is outstanding!!! The sweet chili calamari or Bushwood shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. The SEARED BARRAMUNDI and CYPRESS SHRIMP AND RICE were my entrée selection. Cheesecake was good too. If I get back to Abilene, this is where I will go for lunch or dinner.
I had lunch with a friend today 7/10/25 and had the best waiter. His name was Trey, and he was so kind, always there when we needed something. He didn't rush us, his timing was impeccable.
Went by last Wednesday. Cocktails and food were very good. Had an old fashioned and my wife had a martini. For food we had a burger and shrimp etouffee. Cason was very nice and prompt. Very good service. We will definitely be back when we visit Abilene.
We had such a great time here for lunch! We brought along a baby and they had a high chair and were super sweet to us! The manager came by a couple of times to check how things were. The food was GREAT! Frankly we are traveling and didn’t know what to think and just picked a place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The atmosphere is so cute and the staff was lovely. I got the bayou Florentine and it didn’t disappoint! Haven’t really found a good Cajun pasta until today! Thank you guys for great pit stop! For parents of babies: there was not a changing table (in the women’s) but they did have a decorative table that I was able to use with my traveling changing pad.
Stopped by for dinner and chose the house special of the braised short ribs and they were phenomenal. And the cornbread despite being just cornbread was absolutely delicious, best cornbread I've ever eaten anywhere. And their totally toffee dessert was spectacular. You guys are doing excellent work keep it up.
I was with a group of ten without a reservation. They put a table together for us quickly. Service was great- friendly but not invasive. The Bayou Florentine was fantastic! Spicy with flavor- not just heat. The fish seemed fresh despite not being on a coast. Everyone else seemed pleased with their food. I would definitely return.
Best steak I’ve had in a long time! Krista provided excellent service and the wine was yummy! Really enjoyed the music from my boomer era!
My husband and I were passing through Abilene Texas and was looking for places to eat downtown. Cypress Street Station was rated high so we decided to try them out. So glad we did, it was a wonderful fine! The place was beautifully decorated and the building has been there since the 1920’s , it has great personality! The staff were all so friendly and very welcoming when we arrived. Our waitress was excellent also so very attentive and so nice!! But y’all the food was really really great!! We got to meet the owner and she was really nice too . So my advise to you is , if you are come to or passing through AbileneTexas liked us,take the time to stop by and have a meal with these folks. You will not regret it!! Great experience, great restaurant.
A group of friends and I came in kind of late. It had been a long day and we were a bit rowdy. However, The food was some of the best I have ever had. The service was absolutely fantastic, and the cocktails were incredible! I’m not from Abilene but would gladly recommend over any place else in town that I’ve tried. Thanks to the staff who put up with us a bit after close! Absolutely amazing. I will be back every time I’m in the Abilene area!
The food was delicious! The staff was very accommodating, and the atmosphere felt cozy. However, the portions were a bit small, so you might need a second meal later. It's a nice spot for a date, but maybe not ideal for a business meeting. Parking is so-so. Make sure to go in early for this reason. A+ ✅
We have been about 3 times, and every single time it is delicious!!! I do bring my own balsamic to put on the Brushetta, hopefully thry don't mind, but , i could eat just that and be happy. Haha, I love the food so much. We brought friends this last time and one of them is vegetarian and he told them to let the chef make a choice, and he loved it. So happy we found this place. If you haven't been, go.. you won't be disappointed.
Love eating here when in Abilene. I usually have the Portuguese Clam Chowder and Roasted Beet Salad. Both delicious and a complete meal for me. My husband has tried many different entrees and has enjoyed them all. It’s a nice atmosphere, has a fireplace and a separate bar area. We really recommend this special place.
Trey was kind ,patient and knowledgeable about the menu and specials! The food is absolutely delicious and very filling. Hope to come back to abilene to enjoy this restaurant.
Cypress Street is a staple of food establishments in Abilene. I always enjoy the atmosphere and the food is consistently good. Had a burger today, it was great! Make sure you add the bacon, makes it even better. Affordable, great atmosphere, excellent service, and good food earns this 5 stars.
I'm so glad we stopped here for lunch. The food was fantastic. Trey was one of the best servers I've ever had and the wine was outstanding. We will definitely be back.
Maddy made my day and experience one to remember! First time in this establishment and I highly recommend the food and atmosphere! The rainbow trout and house salad is so awesome! Excellent service and choices of local brews! Five dime blonde was a wonderful tasting pairing with the lunch.
Fantastic food! I had the oyster gnocchi dish, rival more expensive Italian restaurants in quality. Our server Trey provided excellent service.
As always, we had a great meal. It was our anniversary and they made it a special night. Trey, our waiter was great. From appetizers to dessert, never missed a beat. It was a Monday night and they were very busy. If you haven’t visited Cypress Street Station, you need to give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.
Amazing food, quick and excellent service! Will definitely be visiting again.
We walked in while visiting and were greeted by a very nice hostess and were seated right away. Our waiter was attentive and informative. Experience was nothing short of great, as we were checked on by multiple staff members to ensure our experience was going well. As we left, our waiter ran to us as we forgot our phone at the table, and that there should speak volumes to level of customer service provided. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
The building of this restaurant is a really neat, old building with original brick and metal ceilings. The service was really good and so was the food. The food was overpriced for the presentation. It tasted good but I was underwhelmed as it arrived at the table. I would recommend giving Cypress Street a try.
Current: lemon crusted chicken is a must try! Pictured: Take out burger was great, but the fries (had actually ordered chips) were under seasoned and chewy most likely from having to be in a take out box. Eat it inside the restaurant for the best experience. Best, maple old-fashioned in Texas! I recommend the fried green tomatoes, hot mess burger, and lighthouse pasta.
Awesome place! Decent street parking in front. Great decor and very yummy food! Great service as well.
Had dinner here for Valentine’s Day and the owner brought out complimentary champagne which was really sweet. We got the ahi tuna tostadas but I forgot to get a picture but they were really good! I almost wanted to order another plate because I wanted more, for the main, my boyfriend got the shrimp and crawfish etouffee, it had a spicy kick but wasn’t overwhelmingly hot and had a lot of flavor. I had the steak coulette and honestly think it was the best steak I’ve had. The mushroom demi glacé on the steak was amazing as well. We got creme brulee for dessert and I almost ate my half and his! Overall everything taste amazing and our server was so kind and attentive as well, I just wish I had remembered her name so I could give her praise for taking care of us that evening! Will absolutely be back
Visiting Abilene tonight and we had dinner here at Cypress Street Station. Food was great!! We were with a big group and ordered several appetizers to share. Calamari and the Scallops were excellent!! Had one of the steaks for dinner. Steak was good and the mushroom and wine reduction sauce was awesome!!
Absolutely loved this Gem downtown Abilene! The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, making it a perfect spot for a date night or a relaxed dinner. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and you can tell the kitchen really cares about quality. Service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. It’s great to have such a standout dining option right here downtown Abilene.I always recommend to my friends and family.

Cindy and I enjoyed our lunch experience. The food (meatloaf sandwich and rueben) was really good. Our server, Colby , was as good a server as one could ever want.
First time in Abilene for work and wanted a good meal so I stopped by Cypress street station for dinner. The hostess, servers and manager were very friendly and attentive. I asked my server for food recommendations and he wisely suggested the bayou Florentine....fantastic choice!! Tons of shrimp, crawfish, along with Cajon blackened catfish, on a bed of noodles with a super flavorful sauce!! After pretty much licking the bowl clean, the server also suggested the totally toffee dessert....yall that hot bundt cake with ice cream is one of the best restaurant desserts I've ever had!! Coming from central Texas, where we have a lot a great foodie places, my 1st stop at Cypress street station was top shelf!! Will 100% be back!
I was determined to get a delicious, quality lunch today even though my schedule was tighter than I liked. From the time I walked in the door as a lone luncher, to the time I left the building was 28 minutes with a happy heart and stomach. All of this accomplished with grace (thanks, server Leslie) and every table full. Hats off to your staff!
Very nice restaurant in downtown Abilene, offerings steaks, seafood, and chicken entrees as well as standard American fare, burgers, chicken strips, etc. Full bar and nice selection of craft beers. The meatloaf was very tasty and a generous portion! Our local friend made reservations, so that might be a good idea.
WOW ! We were a large group (10) with no reservation on a busy Thursday night. No Problem ! We got the private "Back Room" which was great. We were able to watch the Baseball playoffs and have a great dinner with 10 different entrees . Our server (Trey?) was fantastic . The big surprises were the great wines and Barramundi ... In Abilene !!!
Our waitress was so nice! The meat they serve is so tender that we probably wouldn’t have needed a steak knife to cut it. Great atmosphere, and the chefs made our food quickly! Everyone should definitely go here when in Abilene!
We always enjoy our trip to Cypress Street. As we find our way to our table, the art and decor is enjoyable on the vintage walls of the antique building. I am so impressed with the specialty drink menu, that I can never decide but I have enjoyed all of the ones I tried. We often choose the special because it's always something we never see on any other menu. Some of our favorites is their fish dishes. We usually start off with the calimari appetizer because it is amazing! The staff is the most friendly that you'll find in Texas.
Katie was an absolutely great Waitress, she was very kind and did not bother us every second. She kept a smile on her face throughout the experience. The food was fantastic, I had the New York Strip Med Rare and it melted in my mouth. The best Anniversary Dinner I have had yet.
This has been on my list of must tries in town and they didnt disappoint. You feel welcomed the moment you enter, the cozy atmosphere takes you away. The food was absolutely delicious, the flavors were on point creating a nice flavor party on your pallete. Truly devine one of the best flavors in Abilene. My wife had the bacon wrapped quail with honey sauce, and I had the crusted veal which was tender and loaded with juicy flavors, actually still tasting it 🤣. My Entre was off the regular menu so it might not be there when you go, just ask your server. Everyone in town seems to do calamari but theirs is different its not deep fried and hard crusted but seeming lightly fried and served in a sweet chillie sauce absolutely devine. Our server was amazing, she made great suggestions, and kept checking on us. The floor manager was also amazing she actually brought our entrees which is not something you see very often. Great atmosphere, great service and awesome flavors will definitely be back. Side note if there is still construction ongoing on the street, park behind the grace buulding and walk around to the front. Definitely give them a try.
We wanted to try this out while we were in town and my goodness we were blown away! Trey gave the best service I’ve ever had in any restaurant and that includes some of the finest dining restaurants in Texas! We recommend the Farmhouse Pasta and Bayou Chicken Pasta which was perfectly cooked. The flavors of the dishes came together so well that we could help but leave a great review! The restaurant is beautiful and the atmosphere has a high end but old town feel. Please come give this place a shot if you are in town.
We came here for lunch on a Friday and were seated immediately. We ordered the sweet chili calamari as an appetizer - the sauce was great! But the calamari was rather thick for our preference, closer to the size of a fish stick. I ordered the stuffed avocado as my main and it was fantastic! I would definitely order it again. Very tasty.
RECOMMEND for a special occasion. Most patrons were nicely dressed, and celebrating one thing or another. We dined in as an early dinner, as visitors to the local area. Enjoyed 1) the daily special grilled swordfish, rice and vegetables 2) Fish and Chips and 3) Burger. *Fish was perfectly seasoned & prepared, Fish & chips were good and the burger was good. Service was fantastic!
Nestled in the heart of beautiful downtown, Abilene.Cypress Street's well thought menu, flavorful combos plated with artistry, and high-end big city style make it the ultimate dining destination for both locals and visitors. It is the one and only place where everyone should experience a truly exceptional dining experience, while in Abilene. I must say, the service was truly exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and attentive staff. They were prompt in taking my order and making sure all my needs were met throughout the entire dining experience. The team at Cypress Street goes above and beyond to provide top-notch service, making you feel like a valued guest. We will make this our routine dining experience every time we are in town.
Located downtown Abilene in a historic landmark. Nicely decorated interior. Many dishes on offer. They have lunch and dinner menu. We had stuffed avocado with chicken salad, sweet chili calamari, pecan delight and cheesecake. Good taste. We liked it.
We love going here! The personal attention from the owners is wonderful and their food is even better! Update: The owners are trying to up their style, but even though it looks fancy it's really aggravating. I ordered my usual fish and chips ,but now the fish is piled on the chips. It looks fancy, but i hate having to dismantle my plate just to eat it. The food tastes great, but come on. I'm pulling off a star for complications.
This is a very good restaurant in Abilene. The cocktail, the Abilene Reviver, their version of a corpse reviver was good and their wine selection was pretty good. I enjoyed my entree of their dinner special of venison and my wife had the Lighthouse pasta which she enjoyed. Glad we went and would gladly return when back in Abilene. Great location downtown too! Didn't care much for the calamari appetizer, felt it was over-sauced and just okay.
We decided to get off of the interstate to find lunch and ended up at Cypress Street Station. The hostess and waitress were friendly and the service was pretty quick. The bathrooms were clean. My husband enjoyed the Texas Storm wrap. I had the Thai chicken salad. The grilled chicken was good and the greens were fresh. I think the dressing could have had a little more vinegar and a little more kick but it wasn't bad.
Visit #1- Oct 4.22 I came here for late lunch, and there were no crowds. The service was fast and very attentive. I ordered the Rainbow trout and substituted fries for a double salad. I must say that I was not super impressed since the fish was not fresh and drier than expected. The salad tastes precise how it looks in this picture. I will give another chance to this place since they have a diverse menu. My first impression is not the greatest, but second chances are essential in all relationships. Visit #2- Oct 10.22 I visited Cypress Street for the second time. I believe we all deserve a second opportunity. I ordered the special of the day, which was Mahi Mahi. I liked the plate in general. The fish was well-cooked, and the pasta was tasty. I think the fish could have had a bit more spices to remove the solid fishy flavor, but it was ok. I do not believe this dish should be almost fifty dollars. I will give this place a third chance. I am not impressed by the venue or the food, but I am impressed with its prices. Visit #3- Oct 18.22 A couple of friends invited me for lunch at Cypress Street for my birthday. My salad was the special of the day. The waitress did a great job in describing the dish, and she was correct; the salad was delicious. Of course, we had a good time in conversation. The venue is always busy but not loud. We finished our food and requested the check, which Amanda, the owner, brought in person. Amanda was very generous and even offered free dessert for my birthday. That type of hospitality is what makes businesses stand out. The third time was a charm.
We got the sweet chili calamari and it was good- not spectacular but good. I just don’t think the sauce was scratch made. I had the kitchen sink Caesar($14) and my husband had the pork chop ($34). The caesar was good, but I’d advise the regular Caesar. The pork wasn’t seasoned and the bacon wasn’t crispy, but the croutons were delicious. The pork chop was on the small side and also boneless, which seemed like an odd choice for a $34 cut of pork. The service was great- although there is a ceiling to the amount of times management should check on one table during a single meal, maybe once is the ceiling. Overall, not bad, just overpriced for mid-level food.
I ordered the bayou chicken pasta. The texture was good, but somehow it was overall so painfully bland! The cornbread is different and delicious though. Get that
The waitress was extremely nice and honestly the best part of the experience. The food could definitely be better and more of it considering how extremely expensive it was. For $28 of pasta I think I would expect to have left overs. This was certainly not the the case. My kid had cheese pizza and the crust had a super weird taste to it. Worse than that the water was so bad I wouldn't serve that to my worst enemy. But you live and you learn I suppose.
This restaurant had the atmosphere and great staff. I just feel the food didn't match the price that were being charged for the entrees. The meatloaf was not traditional meatloaf ,but just didn't have any structure. My Bayou Florentine had great taste, but did not see any crawfish in my dish. I didn't want to bother the staff to remake my entree because I was with family. Great people, but the entrees were not what I expected. Very disappointed.
Great waiter and waitress! The potatoes were most flavorful part of the meal and really tasty. The lack of seasoning on the NY strip leaves a lot to be desired. It was, however, cooked to a perfect medium rare as requested and the quality of the beef seemed fairly high. From this limited experience, I cannot recommend a steak for dinner.
I was with a big group of people at dinner time. Our server was really nice. She did a good job of helping us accommodate our dietary needs. One couple was vegan, I have to eat gluten free and my husband is lactose intolerant. The food tasted good but the portions compared to the price of the food did not seem proportional and seemed over priced. Toward the end of my dinner my water ran out and I had to take my husband's because the server didn't come back for a little while. Overall it was good.
Not a fan. Scallops came out fairly cold and burnt, although large in size, presentation was cheap looking. The filet was tender, yet dry, and lacked flavor. Stepdaughters meat loaf was over cooked and did not enjoy it. The inside appearance doesnt inspire much confidence either. No music, lack of staff personality...simply bland all around. No one was rude at all just bland. However, excellent bartender. Good drinks, good mixology. For the markup price, I'll stay away from now on.
The service was okay but the fish and chips were not very good. We will try again in a month
I just had the worst burger I have ever had. Anywhere. It was incredibly dry and looked like it was a frozen precooked patty then microwaved for 10 minutes. The server was rude and rushed us out. I don't know how this place is rated so highly. The atmosphere is nice, but my food was atrocious and the server was terrible. One of my worst food experiences.
