Such a welcoming, wonderfully delicious place!!! Our waitress was so sweet, and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, the bread pudding was amazing!!! And all for a very reasonable price, it was almost shocking how reasonable! Thank you so much, will definitely come back!
Food here NEVER disappoints; however, if you're hoping for a "quiet" experience to enjoy conversation with people at your table without having scream to be heard, it can be hit or miss. If you are lucky, the rooms set apart from the main dining area can serve as the perfect spot for that, provided the patrons in the room are of the same mind.
This place is an absolute gem! We visited during a very busy time - right before Christmas while seeing the bonfires. The wait was long, but there was an app that we could track the wait on. The owner was very welcoming and warm. The menu is absolutely packed with delicious foods!! The onion rings and hush puppies made great starters. We had the crab cakes, shrimp poboy, red bean gumbo, catfish and fried shrimp. All were perfect!! My only bummer was that there were no fountain drinks, only cans.
Very good food. Good prices. Great hot meals.
Very low key place but the food is delicious. Fresh and well seasoned. The butter beans and shrimp was my favorite. The fried fish was crisp and not greasy. Flaky and perfect cooked. Service was friendly and attentive.
Service was amazing and the food was incredible, cant wait to come back!
Great food and atmosphere lots of choices
Was passing through and saw this place. Surprised I have never heard about it before. Food and service was good! The building itself is amazing! The train passed by as we were eating, it felt like a step back in time, loved it. If the walls could talk, I’m sure the would have a lot of amazing stories to tell. I would have loved to have explored the beauty of the building.
We hadn't visited this restaurant in a while and since we'd liked it before we decided to go today. It has been spruced up a bit but not enough to lose its charm. If you are old enough to remember old homes and businesses that weren't glitzy but warm, rustic, and totally charming you'll love this place for atmosphere alone. Then add on good food like people used to cook at home and staff.....well they are mostly older and the younger ones really like us old folks. It shows in their attitudes. The staff wanders amoung the tables greeting old friends and regular customers with hugs. You feel as if you're in the middle of a large family gathering. As stated earlier, it has been awhile since we had been. But we'll not wait so long to go back. It is definitely worth the 45 minute drive for us.
Some of the best food and service in south Louisiana! I was with a large party (rehearsal supper) and couldn’t complain about a thing! Our server was phenomenal!
We came at the tail end of lunch . Greeted , seated, and ordered Friday's lunch special. Shrimp stew, large perfect fried catfish filet ,potato salad and choice from 2 desserts for a very decent price. Enjoyed speaking with the restaurant employees about the history of the place. A very spontaneous stop for lunch turned out to be a very enjoyable day. Thank you to the staff
Very old building a little hard to fine google map. Food was good but spicey. Lunchtime between 11 &12 very crowded dies down by 1. Parking was tight until 1. Atmosphere was a lot of pictures and a 200 year old bar 🍸 😳 😍
Wife and I stopped in for lunch. We had the special which was shrimp stew with fried catfish and potato salad. It was absolutely delicious. Not only is the food great but the atmosphere is amazing. This place was built in the 1800’s and has an amazing abeyance about it. If you are ever in Lutcher you MUST stop by
This was our first visit and a great experience by all measures. The food was excellent. We had a huge fried flounder, shrimp and crab pasta ...and baba for dessert, at our table. It's worth the drive and I definitely plan to go back.
Staff is welcoming, makes you feel that they want your business. We ordered the daily special which for Friday was Shrimp Creole over rice, spicy potato salad and fried trout tenderloin. We chose the bread pudding with praline rum sauce for dessert. It was a rainy day and we drove 65 miles to get to this small town restaurant. The restaurant is housed in an ancient 2 story building that needed to be repainted 40 years ago. The parking lot what's full, the overflow parking lot was flooded so we had to wade through three inches of water. Entry is into the main dining room and bar. It was full. We were escorted to a series up smaller dining rooms that were decorated with fine art and crafts done by local citizens. We recommend Nobiles Restaurant for everyone. We have only been there for lunch but we believe dinner must be just as good.
The food was really good and it's a great place to eat with friends. This is a very popular restaurant and it was very busy. But it stii should not have taken over one hour for our food to arrive at our table.
This restaurant presents a weathered look from the outside fitting the 125+ year old age of the structure, but is warm and welcoming on the inside. The food is superb and the service is prompt and friendly. Our server, Christy, was friendly and knowledgeable. Her suggestions were right on target. We enjoyed a great dining experience from start to finish.
Local as it gets!! Fantastic food. The Petit Pois cooked in a Roux were sublime 😋 Green beans delicious as well.
Great restaurant with real and authentic Louisiana Cajun food made like your mom cooked it. This place is legit and we have been eating there for years. Go for lunch, show up at 11AM, because they are busy for a reason. Go on Friday for the best lunch special within 100 miles.
Seafood stew, fried fish, and dessert special was delicious. Definitely worth it for the price. Classic Louisiana cooking.
This place has the best crawfish pies! The poor boy oyster sandwich was delicious too. I didn’t like the beans and shrimp and they took the item off the bill! The service was attentive, prompt, and friendly. The decor here was stunningly beautiful. I would highly recommend this establishment.
Good food, reasonable price, great service.
Ya'll just don't know what you're missing! Nobile's is an iconic southern restaurant located just 1 block from the Mississippi River. Residents in St James Parish frequent this place weekly, as in individuals making it a place they visit to eat every week. Families are the main stay. They are known for several local dishes (ie: Butter Beans & Shrimp, Oysters, Crab Cakes, Specials.) Eating or drinking at massive antique bar is worth the experience. There is never a stranger in Nobile's, only someone you haven't met yet. Anyway, my absolute fav meal is the CHICKEN CAESAR SALAD WRAP with ONION RINGS with a friend. You get the whole salad in 2 wraps & their caesar salad dressing is homemade and worth the visit. It makes it perfect to share with a friend, too. Oh! The onion rings are homemade, too. Then to top it off ... another homemade item ... a layered pudding coconut cake topped meringue called BaBa. Tell 'em Sherett (from the White House) sent ya to try everything they have on the menu, especially the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap, Onion Rings and BaBa! And they get GOLD STAR 🌟
Pork chop and cabbage, baked potatoes, green beans all very good. Taste like home cooking. The tea was very good also. Their sign is not up. If you haven’t been there before don’t get discouraged by the looks…Great and friendly service. Just seat yourself wherever and enjoy. Parking on both sides and handicap accessible. (Small French like double doors…may have to get help to open both) Very well stock bar also.
Such a great first time experience! Very nostalgic place and menu. Loved the chilled Demi glass with my beer! Get. The. Onion. Rings. Thoroughly enjoyed the Ba Ba, my reason for going!

Recommended by family member. Stopped in today for lunch. Arrived almost at closing time but they seated us (2). Ordered what I heard about, butter beans with shrimp with fried fish. Started with small salad. Butter beans w shrimp???, a new one for me and I was not disappointed. "Ya gotta try it." Fish was perfectly prepared, served wth tarter sauce. Butter beans served in a small bowl with a side of rice and a generous serving of fish. May be a little out of the way for some but worth every extra mile and minute. Staff was courteous, attentive and really made us feel at home.
I was visiting Louisiana when we decided a place that offered local cuisine and goggle sent us to this place, so happy it did because the whole experience was fantastic, I love every dish we had, the service was very good, most women working there and they're caring and kind, their food is made from scratch and it's like grandma's hug. I ate salad (with home made croutons), shrimp gumbo, crawfish empanadas, hushpuppies and oyster po-boy and awesome onion rings! I'm pretty no one regrets to eat at Nobile's. I forgot to mention that the empanadas come with a shrimp-cheese sauce that's just to die for.
Our best dining experience in the USA so far! Delicious, inexpensive meals, a lovely setting and very friendly waitresses! We're from France and love a good meal :-). We were surprised that such a good meal didn't cost more. Our 2 10-year-old children loved it too. A very good family restaurant!
Great seafood gumbo with okra. Pork steak is a treat. Portobello crabcake amazing.
Great old wooden building atmosphere, good food very friendly staff. I got the daily special and we ordered onion rings for the table. The onion rings were very good and the special was chicken parmesan and it came with a salad.
It was great food and very friendly staff. Only complaint is that they said, "sit anywhere" then the 1st two tables we tried to sit at they said were reserved. Me and my friend sat at bar then after we got our food they pointed out that there was more tables in the back. It was only a small aggravation. Very good food and a cool, "back in time" kinda vibe. Its a old building in a old town
Great place for lunch. Old S Louisiana charm. Great food. Worth the drive.
Service and food were excellent. Treated like royalty. Hushpuppies were sweet, didn't expect that but they were great. Seafood gumbo was delicious. The ceasar salad was great but the homemade crouton was awesome. Crawfish pies, like mini empanadas, were tasty.
The restaurant was really busy yesterday so the service was a little slower than usual but our server was extremely nice. The food was very good and everything came out hot! The fried oysters were some of the best I’ve ever had! The fried chicken special was delicious and seasoned to perfection! We’ve been to Nobiles many times and have never been disappointed.
We stopped in at the beginning of the dinner hour on the recommendation of a local friend. The restaurant itself is closed between lunch and dinner (2-5pm) so plan accordingly. Earlier is better, as the restaurant quickly filled up and we got there shortly after the dinner hour began. It was a seat yourself, and there was ample seating for the size of the restaurant. It also has a bar for seating as well. We were seen to immediately and our server, Brooklyn, was the sweetest and most attentive. The food came out fairly quickly, and everything was delicious and tasted freshly homemade. I have tried seafood gumbos around the state and I must say theirs was as close to a homemade version that you might get in a Cajun momma’s house. I’m sure the chicken and sausage is just as impressive. Their gumbo is definitely a must try. The ample half-basket of onion rings as an appetizer was some of the best I’ve ever had (take that Bobby Flay😜). The added little zing of red pepper in the breading was a nice surprise. My friend had the pork chop with smothered sauerkraut that was delicious. I had the seafood stuffed portobello with a shrimp and crab, cream sauce over angel hair pasta that was delicious as well. My friend enjoyed the bread pudding with warm almond sauce and I haven’t had cake as lovely as their baba since living in Amish country in PA. I loved the atmosphere that still showed its historic roots from the mid 1890s when Lutcher was a logging town (there’s a short history on their website). An altogether pleasant experience from attentive staff, to the ambience, to the amazing food. Worth a stop just north of the River Road on Main St. You won’t be disappointed.
I hadn't been in over 10 yrs but they are always on point. All of my food was hot and seasoned very well. I love the catfish and shrimp platter. I will try to come more often because this place has never missed. Thanks for the awesome food and drinks Wyatt your were awesome

What a nice place! Our car club did a pre-arranged outing here and we really enjoyed it. The food was simple but well flavored and at the right temperature. I had the simple griddled fish fillet with potatoes. It was inexpensive and good. The seafood platters (fried) seem to be a big hit with many members. Our group was large but the wait time was reasonable. Though we had a large group and stuffed the room, the waitresses were very friendly and smiley throughout. Hats off to them for doing such a good job!
We stopped in for dinner from out of town and loved this place. The crawfish pies are so so good, the sides are fun and regional as well, like butter beans and shrimp. The seafood gumbo was good but a little shy on the important bits. I'd definitely eat here again. the staff was awesome, and the place was packed
The waitress, Connie, was great. I had a lot of questions and she made sure to answer each one and double check with the cook. She was very attentive to our whole table. I don't like spices, their whole menu is based on the spices and the locals love it that way. They still found out that I could eat the steak or the chicken and I want to say it was delicious and the 4 other people who ordered Cajun dishes throughly enjoyed their spiced meal. I would definitely recommend this place. We were all pleased.
This place is a decent stop if you don't want to indulge in the fast food around. The food was correct but not mind-blowing, though the dessert were really good and cheap, we were a bit surprised to be the only young people there (the average age must have been around 50yo). Really nice waiters and a homely atmosphere in general. I would give it 4 stars BUT two of my friends got the daily special which had the dessert included and they actually made us pay for it (a mistake I assume, but that's a $7 dollars mistake we saw too late). We also had troubles getting understood by the waiter (she had hearing problem and our foreign accent did not help) thankfully a young girl helped us out on that. I would nonetheless recommend this place compared to the fast food around. The fact that it's packed on a random day is still a proof of quality.
Had a decent lunch here with a group of coworkers. The waitress were great. They were very attentive to everyone and out orders. The food was good and was enough to make most in the group say they needed a nap. I dont visit this area often but if someone asked, I would recommend Nobile's.
The Service started out Fast as it was beginning of Lunch crowds, but it slowly got real slow. Waitress took drink order but took long time to bring to table..Ordered off Lunch Menu hoping for Quick lunch...not the case-- ordered an Appetizer Crab cake w/ sauce...10min later crabcake arrived w no sauce. Had to ask for sauce, that took too long. Drinks came, Waitress Never returned to refill. By this time people poured in, standing outside, but some people would slowly drift into dinning room an stand by your table to watch & wait for you to finish ,so they can get your table--they even started conversations, I guess to hurry you along..I have NEVER been to establishment that allowed people into your area watching you eat and some would come take chairs from your table and wait near you? Highly Rude & Inappropriate practice. The Lunch special came, it was tasty ,but luke WARM, must have been plated soon as lunch special but near cold upon reaching table...The portions were small, so thus too overpriced..1 Crabcake was as much as Daily LUNCH Plate specials... It seemed to be the TRENDY place as was crowded ,but it wasn't ALL THAT. Things coming out of kitchen took long as everyone was waiting for their orders.

None of the seafood is Louisiana seafood. The “fish” is imported from Vietnam. It’s called Basa. And the flounder is from Panama. Didn’t order either. The shrimp is US so I ordered that. They were good. Everything was fried perfectly. Onion rings & baked potato was good. It’s a cute place & lots of locals.

Great place and service was absolutely amazing. Down side is the food is bland. It was cooked to perfection but that did not make up for it. All fried food tasted like it was wet down with water then fried in plain flour. Fried Oysters were not whole oysters.
Very popular place for locals. They seem to tolerate tourists but there are odd things about this place. Locals know to walk in and seat themselves but if you haven't been here before you'll walk in and stand near the door being largely ignored until you figure out that there is no sign saying seat yourself. The food is okay but it's nothing to write home about. The onion rings were mostly breading and very little onions. We had the shrimp and crab fettuccine and the shrimp were overcooked and mushy the pasta was overcooked and there didn't appear to be any crab in it at all. We also never got our salads with lunch and we had to ask for them.

Was never acknowledged waiting on my food as they addressed several people who walked in after me. Typical St. James parish icky. Avoid
