The chicken sandwich has more flavor than any “chicken” sandwich I have ever had. 1000% recommend
They have delicious Vegan options! Highly recommend the spring rolls. The veggies are fresh and the portions are a good size! Order the Veggie (Tofu) Banh Mi with no Mayo and it’s Vegan.
Grab someone, or not, and head to this spot! It's nestled in between a couple of other spots - on a strip on Townsend, which is better than the busy and crowded places around the city. The food is tasty and fresh. I recommend the chicken or pork banh mi. The pork egg rolls go hard. I love the little salad and dressing that come along with the egg rolls. A little soy in the dressing and I'm ready to bathe in it! Each time I go, I want to try the pho but them banh mi's give me life. Don't slap yourself by not going. Go and let the food slap you!
Was feeling a little under the weather and thought some phô would hit the spot. Hello Bahn Mi is located under my apartment building, but I’d never tried it. Happy that they offered phô so I ordered the meatball option for pickup. All the garnishments, hoisin and sriracha were packaged up and ready when I arrived. The phô had strips of tender beef on top of noodles that instantly cooked when I added the hot broth. Overall, great phô. Will be back.
It's my favorite place for chicken pho. Perfectly tangy with grilled chicken and cilantro. Their banh mi is also good. The French roll has a crisp thin exterior and perfect fluffiness on the inside. Grilled pork is my fav. The service is great too. I think it's a family business. They are both very nice.
May 2023: Stopped by to grab a chicken 🐔 bahn mi sandwich to go. I was very surprised by the amount of meat that was in the sandwich. There could have been more pickled vegetables and jalapenos. But that's just a minor suggestion. Overall, I would come back again for more delicious Vietnamese sandwiches!
Super tasty and affordable! I've only had the pork bahn mi, but it's been great every time.
This is a no frills spot with excellent food. Amazing sandwich! Love traditional Bahn mi but got the chicken. Quality. If you are in the neighborhood, get there for lunch.
Banh mi is a lot about the bread and their's is excellent. Well stuffed with all the good stuff. Excellent!
Decent banh mi, would probably be better with more pate. It wasn’t particularly flavorful, but still- decent.
Do yourself a favor and get the grilled pork sandwich here. So many places mail this particular item in, but not here. A total treat. Iced coffee is done well too.
Very good banh mi. I love the fresh ingredients. Bread is also freshly toasted and filled to the brim.
A nice spot to eat in Townsend. The daily special was Stick Noodles with Beef Stew. Overall, it was a good meal. The serving size is very generous. Can’t wait to try their Banh Mi sandwiches…Delicious! 😋

Addicted to the tofo banh mi. Get one atleast once a week. Idk what I would do without this sandwich in my life
Great little spot with a nice interior, and space to eat there if you'd like. Staff is also super nice. Their tofu banh mi is great, and the portion sizes are plentiful -- I'm definitely full here, which often isn't the case at other banh mi places
Had the grilled pork banh mi: the pork was grilled very well, with a great fat to muscle ratio. The vegetables were crunchy, fresh and had a great quick pickle The bread had a crispy outer shell and soft inside. You get all the crunch and none of the torn roof-of-mouth action For $10, this was a steal. Definitely trying their bun cha next time
I ordered the pork Banh Mi and it was exactly what I wanted. The pork was tender and fresh, and the service was great. Pricing is well below Bay Area. Will definitely go again!

I felt the place was okay. There isn't really much room to sit with someone else. There's only one table if you're having lunch with someone. It's really more so a pickup and leave, or you're there for lunch alone. It's a small space. I've had their bahn mi and vermicelli but it's okay. It's not bad but not exceptional either. Not a go to for me.
The banh mi were ok but not a I would come back type of thing. I was disappointed because i had to ride bus for a long time to get here expecting it to be a 4.9 star banh mi but to be honest it should be less.

New employee there got my order wrong twice. Tried to resolve issue but still couldn’t get my order correct. Chicken pho not ham banh mi. Then made a beef pho. Not sure what’s going on.
Seriously, I started to buy food from this place since I moved to this location around 6 months ago. In comparison with other places that I bought Bahn Mi and spring roll here in SF, this place is far inferior, the portions are very small and the food is not consistent, since it depends on the mood of who is preparing. A while ago the price of the food was increased, but the food didnt get better, so I stoped buying there and started to buy from another place called Dinosaur, that is a bit far, a bit more expensive but far more flavorful and much better portion. Today I was without much time, so I decided to give another shot, and buy a spring roll in this location again. When i got home and try to eat it, the spring roll came with no lettuce at all and full of carrot. Seriously, such a weird thing, carrot with shrimp. I couldn't eat and threw it away. Honestly, if you guys wanna improve your business, maybe think about have some consistency and quality, over just making things pricier. Im not going back. You guys lost two clients that were buying food almost every day in your location. Very disappointed.
