Was Kunden über The Grind Cafe sagen
The Grind Cafe is loved for its chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and unique flavored lattes like Pistachio and Ube Horchata. Customers rave about the pastries, especially the Pistachio Pastry and lemon olive oil cake. Some find the prices high and heating of pastries inconsistent.

This is my absolute favorite coffee shop. Coffee is always amazing, they always got some yummy treats I assume are from a local bakery, and they don’t skimp on the caffeine (quad shot in a large latte). Above all else, the service is insane; I always feel welcomed and by the second or third visit my usual coffee order had been memorized. The owner is a genuine and caring person, he even remembered that I had hurt my foot a couple weeks from a previous visit and asked about it when I came in again. Just amazing, can’t recommend enough. They also have multiple milk alternatives and sugar free syrups which I always appreciate. For me it’s just a matter of healthy choices, for others it could be a must (diabetes, allergies, etc…), so big props on that as well. They’ve got a large seating area with different sized tables for all sorts of groups/activities (I believe there’s smaller tables with outlet access so you could do some work from here as well). Can’t recommend enough 👌
Just a few minutes from the Liberty science center and the light rail with excellent coffee and even better sandwiches! I got an iced americano which was delicious, as well as the Lafayette sandwich. The sandwich was unbelievable, and I’m definitely coming back to try the other options! Plenty of seating and the employees were very nice.
The staff great, the matcha is fantastic, best shop for the early morning. They're also fast, I was in and out in under 5 minutes
Nice coffee shop near Liberty State Park. The coffee was good, a nice flavor but not super bold. The guys working at the counter were friendly, but food service was slow. I ordered a bagel and cream cheese, and the bagel was burnt.
5 stars for vibes, coffee, and food! Not far from liberty state park, the Grind is a neighborhood staple. Had both the Cinnabon & Almond joy Latte with almond milk, spectacular. Almond joy latte was not too sugary, could definitely appreciate the espresso. The food was solid, enjoyed an everything bagel with cream cheese and the feta/spinach pastry were great (bagel didn’t have too much cream cheese which is a thing here). Only watch out is parking, very difficult to find parking. Be prepared to park further or walk, about 20 minutes one way from downtown JC.
Good Coffee, Good Food, Good Vibes! This shop is more than just my go-to neighborhood caffeine fix; it brings community and culture to a budding neighborhood! My favorite drink is the Ube Horchata Iced Latte, and I also love the Pistachio Pastry. Make sure to stop by on weekends when the curated thrift and maker pop-ups are going and the music is playing! 100% a fun time.
Really good latte and a really damn good bagel and ghost pepper CC. Update came back again two days in a row: The bagels are so fresh and so is the Cc. better than most NY bagels IMO. The horchata oat latte lightly sweet is so balanced and the exact cold morning pick me up. A favorite place for us to now be repeat customers.
We ordered a chocolate muffin, latte and an americano. First time at this place and man is it a vibe. Not only is the crew friendly, but so are all the customers coming in. And the music was a mood. Gotta try it.
Great spot to sit down and have a coffee along Communipaw! The iconic doggo is right across the street. Highly recommend the vanilla oak latte; it was tremendously substantial and tasty, perfectly refreshing after a brisk walk. The baked treats are also great and flavourful. The staff is very helpful and kind and will provide recommendations according to your personal preferences. One of the best coffee spots in Jersey City. Highly recommended!
I love this coffee shop AND it's black owned! I am obsessed with the Pistachio flavored Latte and they have this Pistachio Pastry this is mouthwatering when heated up just a touch. I come from 50mins away just to sit and catch the vibe in this coffee shop. The staff is courteous and they get along well with each other making the atmosphere pleasant. Music is on point too. Definitely will be back!
The only place I’ll buy a drink from. Let’s cut to it - Pistachio latte, cookie butter latte, pistachio matcha (!!!), pistachio twist (!!!), lemon olive oil cake, and every single donut they have. These are my stars and my favorite treats, everybody I’ve shared with or brought here have loved everything they’ve tried. If you’re about *quality* coffee, pastries, drinks, and people — there shouldn’t be another coffee shop you go to. I’ve been to some of their events and seen their outreach to the community and it’s another reason to love this place and the people here. 5stars.

I love the vibe here. The plants, the music, the ambiance, the service … awesome! I love the coffee and I only had drip coffee! They do have all kinds of flavors and specialty flavors. I’d have to say the only ‘complaint’ I’d have (which cannot be blamed on them) was: For the two-ish hours we were there, they cleaned 2-3 times (which is actually a plus) but because part of the appeal of a coffee shop for me is the smell of coffee …for 10-15mins after they clean, I have to‘endure’ the smell of chemicals, again, they can’t be blamed for my olfactory sensitivity lol. Will definitely be back!
Coffee that actually tastes like the flavors on the menu. Pistachio was great! And I could actually taste the pistachios. The guys at the counter were really nice and service was quick! I’ll be back!
This was recommended by a biker friend who happens to ride nearby and saw massive crowd so had to try! The place is to die for! The hospitality and the food both were above my expectations! Had a spinach bread which was so fresh even at 7am! Also ordered the veggie bagel, it was hard to chew but the taste was good. The coconut oat milk coffee and white mocha were better than Starbucks! They also have a few games and we played chess! Amazing morning Kudos to the Grind!
Lovely place. We had the ube horchata and the goat latte (which has cinnamon, maple syrup and vanilla). Both drinks were tasty. What stood out most to us was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Kudos to the team on that! Would definitely recommend this place.
Such a great little find. The olive oil cake was simple but perfectly balanced and paired so well with my cappuccino. The coffee is smooth rather than bold, and while I personally prefer my cappuccino a bit stronger, I’ll just add an extra shot next time, more of a personal preference than a real complaint. The ambience makes it a great spot to relax, enjoy the music, and hang out with friends.

Love this spot! This is our go-to spot even though there are closer places to get coffee. The staff is lovely and the atmosphere is chill. Love the photos on the walls also.
Rating here a solid 4 6. I've passed by here a few times and it was the perfect day for coffee. Ordered a small mocha latte ($6.75). It's the perfect spot for grab and go. The space is small but has seating area. I enjoyed my latte and definitely going to be my go-to coffee spot. Great local coffee shop that serves the community.
Nice little place. The donuts were good. Way better than going to Dunkin’ Donuts. Support independent owned businesses!!
The Grind Shop is your place for serving up excellent brews, mixtures of brews as well as your own choice of coffee just as you like it; we can't forget about the fresh pastries, too. Although space is slightly limited, The Grind Shop is worth your visit every single time. If you're able to grab a seat, you'll have plenty of space to enjoy sipping on your coffee while working on your latest project on your laptop.

The Danish pastry was tasteless, but the donuts and coffee were good. The prices were high for the area
The staff was super nice!! The coffee and pastries unfortunately not as much. To preface I have worked in specialty shops before, and the coffee here was a bit on the confusing side of things. I got an ube horchata latte, what was confusing was possibly the lack of ube flavor in this drink? ube is also distinctly purple, which was just not at all there. Ayala for example has a fanatic presentation of an ube latte. Here the flavor of the latte was all over the place, and the horchata too. The espresso was great, was smooth not astringent, had no complaints there. We went when they had a two for one pastry deal. While I appreciate the deal, both pastries (when asked to be warmed) came out quite cold on the inside, as if refrigerated or just kept out in the weather, and incredibly dry. Felt like they were attempting to sell off old pastries, and hence the deal. I don’t appreciate this, at the very least I would have preferred one good pastry over two stale ones.

Overhyped. Somehow every time I go I get charged different price for regular coffee. Prices went thru the roof in general. Their Large cup is actually small cup anywhere else. They changed locations and downgraded, there is no vibe anymore whatsoever except small mural in the corner. This business needs a reality check asap! There is better coffee shop two blocks down called lafayette. The coffee is good tho.
I’ve stopped in a few times and always had the same issue. When I ask for a pastry to be warmed, it takes nearly ten minutes and still comes out cold not sure what they’re using to heat things up but definitely needs replaced. Drinks are another disappointment when I ask for cinnamon and honey (which cost extra), I can barely taste either. On top of that, the prices for these add-ons feel extortionate. Overall, the quality just doesn’t match the cost. I want to come back as I live nearby and I really like the friendly people that work here but I feel like they can do better.
I was on my way to the airport and ordered two sandwiches through Uber Eats. The app said 10 minutes. When I arrived, they told me it would take much longer. I said I couldn't wait and wanted to cancel, but was told they couldn't. (no food prep food was started yet) I even tried to cancel through Uber Eats and couldn't. No apology from the front desk, no effort to help find another solution. I was the problem for them. I ended up waiting 40 minutes. I should have left, but $35 for two sandwiches is too much to walk away from when you're already late for a flight and not making 6figures. When I got to the airport and opened the bag, it wasn't even my order. They gave me a completely different sandwich..... I live in the area but had stopped coming after a bad first experience with unfriendly baristas and overpriced items. I gave them another shot after hearing they improved. Same thing again. Very disappointing....
