Food is typically very good-quality. Except for one rare instance when lo mein noodles were a tad mushy, have never been disappointed. 99% of time their quality is spot on which is why I always return. Usually friendly if not jubilant on phone despite some past reviews. Definitely worth the money.
East Wok has long been my first choice for Chinese take-out. It is not gourmet Chinese. There are certainly notable places in the area if that is what you seek. I am surprised at the few negative reviews. I only ever order take out so I cannot speak to delivery experience. However, I am invariably satisfied with those items I occasionally indulge in such as the hot n sour soup, lo mein or fried rice usually chicken or pork, Kung Pao or General Tso's chicken, crab Rangoon, egg rolls and spring rolls. Sometimes I will order the pork Spare ribs which are always delicious if a bit sweet. I have only had one experience of receiving mushy lo mein but that was a highly rare outlier. I certainly have never once become ill from the food. My experience with East Wok has typically been highly satisfactory.

I work in the area and ordered online both times. Prices are very reasonable and the lunch portions are more than enough. Food is decent. Would recommend to follow co-workers. Both times order was ready when I walked in the door.

Overall good, ready when I ordered it. The lo mein and BBQ pork were dry, needed more sauce. Rice was good, egg rolls crispy and fresh tasting. Reasonably priced. Overall would try other places before going back unless they fix the sauce issue.

Of all the locations willing to deliver to my area, this one is the best of all of them. Not the best Chinese I've ever had, but good enough for a quick lunch and good enough for what I'd expect. I enjoy their sesame dishes and soups. Never any major quality issues. I continue to order from them whenever I fail at feeding myself at work.

This shrimp is large but doesn't seem natural. It's chewy and no shrimp taste (/ It used to be better. Smaller but good flavor used to be. Not worth the money.

My local Chinese restaurant closed abruptly, and I've been on a search for great takeout, but still no luck. This was the First take out where I received only 2 chicken feathered wings with my lesser than amt of shrimp fried rice- when I used to get 4 full wings and full plate of fried rice. My lomein was also dry and tasteless had to add lots of sauce. Plus, no homemade chinese Sweet tea either. Times must be worse than I thought. Unfortunately, definitely won't be back again. My search continues 😕

I've been ordering from this place for years and it is been good enough, but lately their quality just being going down, to the point that in today's was just awful, I order sweet and sour chicken and it was over fried, my daughter almost choked trying to eat it, also the lomein was over salted, couldn't eat it either. I will not recommend to buy food from them but if you, check it before paying for it.
Some of the WORST Chinese food that I've ever had. The noodles in the shrimp lo mein were the thickest, most over cooked, dry, and clumpy noodles that I've ever had the displeasure to experience. And to top it off, it was completely flavorless. I've had food from here before and it was nothing like this, same dish mind you. But this time is a culinary disaster. Tried the hot and sour soup hoping that that would improve the experience, unfortunately it didn't help at all completely flavorless colored water with tofu and crushed red pepper seeds, totally tasteless. Overall a very disappointing experience and one that I never want to experience again.
Worst Chinese I have ever ordered. Either dry and mushy or way too much sauce and mushy, everything was just mushy... Even the boneless ribs. Egg rolls tasted like they were soaked in chemicals. My kids even complained and they love chinese. I only ate a couple bites and my stomach is churning....hope we don't get sick. Even my diet Pepsi had a weird taste, almost dusty! And they don't make that obviously 😂 so...I'm left to think everything is just extremely old. The shrimp and meat were just mushy, definitely do not have a meat/seafood texture. Absolutely disgusting. Even the mall chinese food is gourmet compared to here! Save your money... Stick to your regular chinese food joint. This place blows, big time. No surprise if we end up puking in a few hours. 😑 Never again will I order here! Sticking to etengu or dragon fried fish from now on!
I placed the order today 01/30/2026 at 6:15pm. There was 4 meals on order. Chicken and broccoli, egg rolls, sesame chicken and Mongolian beef. I was told about 30 minutes before they got here. I called twice to check in on the food. After an hour had passed I had asked to cancel this order because it had been too long. They refused the cancellation. Food showed up over an hour and half late- I refused to accept because the bag was literally cold. Will never chance this place again.
First review I've ever written. The food was absolutely disgusting and not edible. The pork fried rice was stale tasting , sweet and sour chicken was just breading with basically stringy chicken. The egg roll was pure mush inside. Absolutely disgusting. Was ordered on December 2 2025 .
The food I ordered didn't seem that Fresh I was pretty unsatisfied with my order. Wasted my money pretty much. But this place is closest by for me.
Got food delivered from here and it took a hour and forty mins . Food was cold . Never order from here again .
First they rushed me in the phone and was not able to give my complete order When I got there she was more pleasant than normal But the food is probably the worst take out Chinese food I have ever gotten. Chicken is recooked and hard, the lo mein is mushy and very over cooked This is usually our go to - i think I will not be back
The food was 45 minutes late. The shrimp was then over cooked rubber like. The general tso chicken was soggy absolutely disgusting.🤮 Do your self a favor order from anyone else.
The food here is so cheap and disgusting. It is the bottom of the barrel food, at best. Biting into the chicken is like chewing on floss - it’s all gristle and dry. Then they want to nickel and dime you for every substitution. Customer service was just as ridiculous as the people that can’t speak English there. Save your money.
I will never order food from here again. We order food every now, and again, at work as a group, and this is the second time I ordered food that tasted like mildew. I get the General Tso's chicken with brown rice and the last time I thought I tasted mildew in the rice but I wasn't completely sure. I had a bit of a cold, and nobody else seemed to have the problem so I let it go. Today, I order the same thing General Tso's Chicken with brown rice. Everything, EVERYTHING, tasted like pungent, dead bark, mildew, the chicken, the rice, everything. It was awful, like they stored the bag of rice in the back parking lot in the humitity or something...it tasted like i was eating an old sock that had been left out in the rain for a week. I caution anyone who reads this, maybe it was the brown rice because it doesn't get ordered as often, but that doesn't explain the chicken, perhapse it was the sauce, either way they shouldn't be serving mildew laced food. The food at this place is that disgusting so order at your own risk.
East Wok, Wolf Road, Colonie, is off the list of places I will trust to get food from. I've tried soup, lo mein, and other items. I gave them three chances and I got sick every time. There is something unsanitary going on there or the food is spoiled or tainted. I will NEVER purchase anything from them again. If you want to puke and poop your guts out after a meal, this is the place for you. I can make food better and safer at home.
Terrible. The rice tasted at least 2 days old. The delivery guy was literally coughing into his hand, and then grabbed someone's order with the same hand. Will never go back.
I do not usually write reviews. But this place deserves to be exposed. It’s plain awful. I ordered from the “Chef’s Specialties” column. Item 4 Crispy Orange Flavor beef, and item 16 Crispy Shrimp. To keep this short , I’ll just say the Crispy beef was disgusting in appearance , taste and quality. Nasty. The crispy shrimp was not crispy and the abundance of batter concealed the baby shrimp inside which was supposed to be JUMBO. Deceitful and not even close. And, hardly any of the vegetables described were in the order.
I had reasonably high expectations for East Wok since it's in a central location with moderate traffic going in and out. But this place is terrible in every respect. First of all, the customer service is brusque and unfriendly. Secondly, the place is unsanitary. (I saw a guy picking his ears near the cooking area.) Third, the food is bad -- and that is saying something. This is Chinese takeout after all, not rocket science. But the General Tso's Chicken here was syrupy, not spicy at all, and lacked any vegetables (usually it comes with carrots or baby corn). Anyways, this is one of the worst Chinese restaurants I've ever had the displeasure of visiting and will never be coming back again. Thanks. edit: forgot to mention, you'll be thirsty for a long time after eating here.
